I recently returned to Bliss Nail Lounge for another gel manicure, and unfortunately this set of nails was not up to the same level as my first time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My technician was nice, but seemed to really want to get me in and out of her chair as quickly as possible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have never kept my hands under the UV light for less than 60 seconds per layer, but at one point I timed it and my hand was under the light for 15 seconds. It was truly: finish one hand, immediately change hands to put under the light. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I questioned it internally but figured she knew what she was doing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got my nails done on a Tuesday, by Sunday one of my nails was chipped. Bliss has a policy that any chips within 10 days can be fixed for free, so I went in the next Wednesday to get the nail fixed. Again it was incredibly rushed, 15 seconds max under the light. By Friday the nail chipped again. Two days later another nail chipped. Less than two weeks and the manicure was already chipping. A disappointing experience compared to my first time there. read more

Well - I found my new nail spot (since I recently moved to Arlington)! I got a gel pedicure, and was extremely happy with the process from start to finish. I made an appointment online a few days before, and they were waiting for me when I got there (I feel like this is rare in nail salons even when you make an appointment, lol). They serve refreshments while you're receiving your service (including alcohol - I had red wine), free of charge. The place is cute and clean, and it was also packed (a great sign). I've always heard really good things about this salon. I've been twice now and both times have really enjoyed my experience and have been pleased with the results both times. During my first visit, I got a basic pedicure and manicure, which included the removal of old gel polish. I had had two rounds of gel polish the last two rounds of mani-pedi, so my nails were looming rough underneath. The nail tech was gentle, yet effective in helping restore my hands and feet to a healthy state. Days after my visit, my nails were still looking good. On my second visit, I just needed my nails done. I had an idea of what I wanted and my nail tech, Tiffanie helped make it into a reality. I wanted short, pointed extensions with a blue-green ombré. Tiffanie used three different dipping powders to create the ombré effect. (See photo.) The salon itself is well maintained and clean. I really enjoyed my experience with both my nail techs. I spent a long time with Tiffanie because I had questions, asked for suggestions, and then sitting the process itself. Tiffanie was warm, communicative, and welcoming. This is easily the worst nail salon I've been to in my life. I showed up at 6:40 for a 6:45 appointment. I was not seated until 7 and the girl who was allegedly my nail tech was running around doing random stuff not helping me. Ahead of me were three women, two of whom were waiting for the male employee named Keith who had damaged both of their nails. Both women were in for a nail repair from the same guy. One girl's nail had cracked underneath and was bleeding and the other needed two broken tips repaired and she stated she was the over two hours. They didn't start working on my nails until 715. My nails were longer than I asked, and my nail tech kept jumping between me and the other girl whose nail he was fixing so in total I didn't leave the salon until 830. When it started to get toward the end I told my nail tech not to put any color on it because I knew I didn't like the shape and just to leave it clear. I said I needed to get home, but he proceeded to do the warm hand towel thing which I didn't want because I needed to get home. He offered to let me come back and get a color on my nails. In total for an acrylic set with zero design or color. It was $65 before tip. This was absolutely the most unorganized salon with the worst customer service. The entire time I was there there was more than enough staff to accommodate the customers they had, but the free nail tech kept running around and organizing different Nail colors and polishes and equipment instead of taking care of the customers. The salon closed at 8 and I did not leave till 830. They don't seem to have any regard for peoples time if this is the pattern that they're exhibiting which I experienced and clearly at least three other women in the salon that night experienced. This was the worst nail salon experience I've had and I will absolutely not be going back. I asked for a short plum color and what I got was longer nails That were clear. The entire time I showed the guy the picture and said I wanted the nails that length because of my job and he proceeded to tell me that my nails were shorter than the picture which is just categorically untrue as you can see in the images These situations are incredibly frustrating because I wasted my time and money on a service that just angered me and left me with nails I don't like. I will never come back here and would not recommend anyone come to this salon. read more

I was doing an errand around the area and decided that I wanted to treat myself to a mani with designs and a much needed pedi! Bliss was super responsive when I reached out to make an appointment through Yelp. Bon was my nail technician for most of my service and he was really meticulous (Tiffanie finished the design since Bon had another appointment)! I had a great, relaxing pedicure experience -- the massage chairs were one of the best ones that I've had compared to other nail salons. As for the mani, the technicians definitely take their time and are skilled at creating a variety of Pinterest worthy designs. Bliss also has an endless variety of colors in both SNS powder and gel polishes for you to choose from. Unfortunately, my nails started chipping within a week and even more so within the 2 week mark. For what it's worth, I have an infant daughter so I use my hands a lot which may attributed to premature chipping. The location is located close to the Courthouse/Clarendon area of Arlington. Although they have two reserved parking spots for customers, they can only fit compact cars (#citylife). I was able find street parking (max parking limit of 2 hours via ParkMobile) right in front of the shop. read more

We attempted to make an appointment on-line but it was difficult because we didn't have a preferred person and you have to open each name one-by-one and then check availability. We ended up calling and getting a same day appointment for two of us. We sat side-by-side in a separate room and that was nice. My girl Kelly was nice but not sure about her English . She took her time and had a gentle touch despite my being ticklish. No beverage was offered although the chairs had cup holders. Each chair had a massage function and the basins had liners. Instruments were sanitized. The chairs were big and my feet did not touch the bottom of the basin; I didn't like that. I got the Bliss Spa Pedicure for 45 min at $50. Loved it.
