They took me in immediately which was really nice. However, the lady who did my nails seemed perhaps tired or just disinterested. She wasn't mean or anything but I felt like I was bothering her. I wanted dip with tip and she took my nails off by sliding under them but I think this made the dip and other liquids sting my nail. It hurt so bad I thought I was having an allergic reaction, but it went away after 5 mins. I don't believe she was familiar with how to do ombré and she wet and brushed the glitter powder on, instead of dipping the dry brush in and sprinkling it over the nail. It still came out ok but didn't seem ombré. If you are in a rush and need something quick, it's a good place to go. I'm from out of town so it worked for me in the at that moment.

Just went for a Acrylic Fill-In- $25 It was cool, very empty, they tried to bargain me into also getting a pedi which was nice but their Basic Pedi didn't seem worth it to me ( didn't even offer hot towels) Overall Great Nail Quality, she took her time and I loved that!

Tucked away right by the Brig and Taco City. Popped in based on reviews I saw cuz I couldn't make it to my regular nailplace for SNS manicure. Nervous to try someone new, as my regular place meticulously shapes my nails so perfectly. Jenny did an amazing job with the shape of my nails and the application is beautiful. My least favorite thing is when the dip powder remains too thick on the nail but my nails look lovely!!! The place is very small but cute. And I was offered a complementary glass of wine for my visit which was a pleasant surprise! So far best nail place I have been in DC.

My entire nail came off in less than one week in the middle of the night (meaning I didn't hit it on anything to loosen it up).

I will start this review by saying I frequently get my nails done in DC and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. TL;DR: Don't waste your time they're expensive like a Mimosas or Enchanted with a 1/5 of the quality. I decided to come to Navy Spa & Nails because it's right by my new job and I wanted to try to find a place near work versus the place I go to near home (because I'd recently had a not so pleasant experience with them as well). I came to this spa and asked for a gel full set and a gel pedi. They start my pedi and the water is cold. I ask for her to change it and she acts as if I'm asking for her to pull down the moon. The pedi was $50 didn't include any callous removal but all this frilly lotion and hot towel message. The actual pedicure itself was okay but she didn't do a consistent shape for my toes so I'd give it a 2 out of 5 at best. The woman who did my full set was absolutely horrid. I've been getting my nails done for almost ten years now I have never seen someone do half of the stuff she did and she missed the other half of the important things like checking to make sure my nails were the same length, doing the shape before adding the acrylic, letting me wash my hand before polishing. In less than a week, I've broken 1 nail and another one completely came off (in the middle of the night I might add). My nails are chipping and I am completely horrified by my experience. I don't even want to go back and ask them to fix it because I know they're going to do a terrible job. Even with my short nail beds I've never experienced sure terrible quality service in my life. If 0 Stars I'd give it to them without hesitation. This place is terrible.

This is the fourth nail salon I have been to in DC hoping to get pink and white. The three salons before this one did not have a tech there that could handle the request. This salon did a GREAT JOB with my ombré pink and white. I also got a pedicure. Full set and pedicure came to $95 before tip. I highly recommend them.

Nail broken. I cried. I've been growing my nails for 4 months.

This place has horrible customer service. The male working there did a horrible job on my toes, and wouldn't offer any additional discount. He told me that the discount was not being charged to take off my gel polish. Then as he began to do my nails he broke my thumb nail and said "this must've been broken before you got here." The woman (manager) began to be very argumentative, and told me that I talk too much. Is was at that moment, when I stood up and decided that my business was not needed there. I told her that I was going to be writing a Facebook review, and she replied that she doesn't care. Please go to a place where they care about satisfying their customers! They missed out on a repeat customer who spends $200/month on my nails and tip 30%. Too bad.

I was pressed for time and needed a pedicure at the last minute. When I arrived there was no wait and only one nail tech there. I decided to go with their Milk and Honey Pedicure which was nothing spectacular. I was under the impression that actual milk and honey would be used but it wasn't (Mimosa in DuPont circle is top notch for that) I gave 3 stars because I could not get my acrylic filled on my big toes bc the nail tech could not do acrylic. Also once another customer walked in, the lady doing my feet started to rush my service. The massage was nice tho.

This place is decent for a quick mani/pedi, I paid $15 for a basic polish mani and $30 for a basic polish pedi ((I got Essie in "fiji")) and was a little disappointed in quality. The mani/pedi itself was fine, but the polish was messy and my cuticles still have polish on them. I feel for a basic mani I should at least get a clean edge for my nails-I could do a better job myself with patience. My toes were done better than my fingers so I guess the pedi was worth the while. The atmosphere was really quiet, they didn't play music or tv so it was awkward talking to the friends I went with because I felt everyone was paying attention, as there was no distraction. Not the greatest salon but was ok in a pinch.

The owner did an amazing job on my nails. I wish I had before pictures of how bad they were peeling and discolored. I got a gel manicure and was pleased with the level of service as well as cleanliness / newness of the establishment. I will definitely be back!

Mt first time at this salon and I must say, this is one on the best Nail Salon. Customer services was great. When getting my pedicure and Manicure they offer you variety for beverages and of course they had wine! . Overall I love the nail tech her did my feet she was amazing. I will differently will be coming back every two weeks! I walk out feeling like a new woman!

    Seriously the best spa pedicure!
    Meredith L.

They spa pedicures here are amazing! Great scrub, massage, and p. Great attention to detail as well. They are always friendly and offer a glass of wine :) my feet always feel so refreshed after! I love coming here

Don't ignore the bad reviews!! This was the worst manicure I've ever had. There were issues from the start. I chose a milky pink color and ended up with a translucent, sparkly pink color. The nails were so messy that they were sticking underneath. Though SNS is supposed to be long-lasting they're peeling after a week. I felt uncomfortable saying anything during the process because it was my first time getting SNS but the result was truly terrible. Frustrated that I wasted the money.

    Rebecca N.

Went to Navy Nails and spa after the nearby Cosmopolitan nails canceled my appt last minute. Let me say everything happens for a reason because this is the best SNS manicure I've gotten in DC! It looks like a hole in the wall but the service is great. Most importantly, the final product looks exactly how I wanted. Will continue to go back to this place!

I read some good reviews about this place so I decided to check them out but unfortunately my…read moreexperience was the total opposite. It's small & clean in a nice looking neighborhood. I went in for a basic mani & French pedi. Now for those that get French - we know it's a specialized service (meaning they upcharge for it). A specialized service needs a specialist. While the nail tech was polite and tried her best, you could tell that wasn't her speciality and with the language barrier it was hard communicating exactly what was needed. Plus I think techs today put more effort into those that get gel/acrylic etc over basic/natural which is disappointing. She asked me if I wanted my toes cut down (I said yes) but she ended up filing them so they were still long. The towels are pretty dingy and they dry your feet with the same towel they work on, cuticle clean up was great but the leg massage was way too much pressure. I asked for bubble bath nail color but they gave me a purple equivalent & I had to ask for a 2nd coat. The white lines aren't crispy, & while I appreciate her trying to emulate the look I had when I came in, I think it would've been better if she just did her own thing. The manicure was standard, she skipped a few nails and had to go back. I asked for square square all around (hands & feet) but ended up with round square. Again, she was sweet & polite but for $78 - it wasn't worth the experience, especially not the French because my toe nails are still long so you can barely see the white tips and the color gives more of a purple than pink

Meticulous, precise, clean, patient, hospitable. I have absolutely zero complaints about this place. I wanted gel x, a cat eye look and my nails were done beautifully. While my nail tech was doing my nails, I decided I wanted them a little shorter and was met with no resistance. She happily obliged to any and all request regarding my nails. She took her time, made sure I liked the design of the first nail before continuing on to complete the rest of my nails. It was the most enjoyable experience I've had at a nail salon in a long time. I originally came in for a pedicure and a full set, but I ended up not getting the full set I'll explain why. When I sat down, I was never asked if I wanted a drink, while other white customers around me were. I was also not given a menu to choose the type of pedicure I wanted. That immediately rubbed me the wrong way treat everyone the same. I asked for square nails and told her multiple times not to round them, yet she continued to do so anyway. I requested French toes with a soft pink base and black tips, but she acted like she couldn't find the colors. At that point, I told her to just do solid black to keep it moving. When we went to her nail station, I showed her the reference for the full set pink acrylic with a black French tip. She tried to tell me it wasn't possible and claimed she only had gel polish. I had to pull up a TikTok and show her, and suddenly she understood exactly what I meant. By then, I already knew my nails were about to be messed up, so I told her to just do a manicure instead. I paid over $100, and my polish is already peeling off. On top of that, the tools do not appear to be properly disinfected, which is unacceptable. I am a board-certified esthetician, and this experience was extremely unprofessional. Connie was careless, and this salon overall was a huge disappointment. I will not be returning. So pissed my gel polish is already coming off..

However, they didn't have times available, so I opted to go to the Navy Yard instead. Both locations are clean and relaxing. I also like their no-phone policy. The Navy Yard experience, however, was average. I requested their standard manicure and the luxe pedicure. Two technicians worked on me at the same time and finished at the same time - within the hour, which was great. (One minor issue- they don't roll to your other side, so you're forced to bend your arm uncomfortably toward them, which kills the experience a little.) This was my first time getting the luxe pedicure, and while they used an extra jelly moisturizer for five minutes and a quick scrub, it felt similar to the main lane (what they call their standard mani). So I probably won't opt for that again. The massage was the same length as given at the MVT location. One of the techs noted the color was sheer, and I asked for an additional layer, which they've done no problem at MVT. But she was firm that she was only doing two. Ok friend, then why ask me if I want it sheer? The layers applied were laughably thin. I get that's necessary for a good mani/pedi, but the first application barely had any polish applied. And the mani was even thinner to the point that it looked splotchy in normal lighting. The tech working on my hands also didn't get the edges well. A tad disappointed given the price but lesson learned...I'm only going to MVT from now on.

Another victim here. Lol. Guys the reviews are not Karens, it's FACTS!…read more My own bad for not coming here to look at reviews first before doing a walk-in manicure. I thought the store was cute and looked "professional", It turned out it is just look...nothing professional. I came here cause I was around to have lunch and thought since I have some time before meeting my friends around I'll do a manicure besides waiting around by the pier. Walked in and no one welcomed me and the receptionist was somewhere hidden in the back, already a red flag but I thought I had time to spend so I'll wait. Well a good 5 mins here she comes and she polite, but once she sat me down she's back to her phone call with a friend or something, not at the front. Ok? That already doesn't look good. Then the manicure, it was nice a clean up and the guy who did it was careful and paitent with my nails, good service. But then I showed him the design which he says he doesn't do designs, so a girl helped me instead. She's nice as well, but her skill is 0. I feel bad to say, but I can't believe she doesn't have any sense in nail art. It's terrible, and I can definitely do it myself... and better! If it's just not good enough I'll take it (cause I'm a painter so it's hard to be on my OCD level), but she's... not a nail art artist at all!!! Omg?! How are they trained to do this job but is less than a normal person doing it for a friend? I hope my photos show you the quality as evidence. Please don't go there. I also costed me $70+ (tips included) just for a manicure with "design". I'm pretty upset, but at the same time I know this my own fault to not research beforehand. Annnnd I am buying a nail gel set now cause it's just hard to find a good nail artist in DC! Even with a fancy nail store, they tend to do a mediocre job. Not recommend and spend your money with 1 manicure here for 2 manicures somewhere else!
