they are so nice, so so nice I almost feel bad for leaving this review. However, I wish I read reviews before going. I showed them the below reference photo and left with this.... There is no consistency and it's overall a very sloppy job. While in the chair I expressed to the tech I wanted the nails to match/be thinner, she made a few quick improvements but, as you can see the final product looks nothing like the original. Maybe if you need a quick fix/ nothing too complicated you should risk it. They are very nice and welcoming, but if you want a quality job, go somewhere else. read more

They took me in immediately which was really nice. However, the lady who did my nails seemed perhaps tired or just disinterested. She wasn't mean or anything but I felt like I was bothering her. I wanted dip with tip and she took my nails off by sliding under them but I think this made the dip and other liquids sting my nail. It hurt so bad I thought I was having an allergic reaction, but it went away after 5 mins. I don't believe she was familiar with how to do ombré and she wet and brushed the glitter powder on, instead of dipping the dry brush in and sprinkling it over the nail. It still came out ok but didn't seem ombré. If you are in a rush and need something quick, it's a good place to go. I'm from out of town so it worked for me in the at that moment. read more

My least favorite thing is when the dip powder remains too thick on the nail but my nails look lovely!!! The place is very small but cute. I won't be back here. I was in a pinch (and a rush) as I am going out of town tomorrow and needed a mani pedi. Despite some questionable reviews the salon had good pricing and is close to my house. The gel color selection is lacking. I should have asked when I called if they had the color I wanted but I didn't and they didn't, that's on me. But there was nothing even comparable to a standard nude color. I told them then just give me a pedicure and got closed in on by 3 techs insisting I get a manicure. No I said just a pedicure now. One woman takes my hand and starts trying to file. No, thank you please just give me a pedicure. Pedicure is quick and fine, obviously they are irritated I didn't get the manicure. The tech then asks me if I want flip flops as I had flats with me coming from work. I say oh yes thank you. She brings me ACTUAL shoes. I'm sure they will be charging me for these. I was expecting (again perhaps my fault) the cheap and flimsy flip flops all salons have. All in all not a good experience and I will go elsewhere, pay a little more for good service and color selection. read more

I will start this review by saying I frequently get my nails done in DC and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. TL;DR: Don't waste your time they're expensive like a Mimosas or Enchanted with a 1/5 of the quality. I decided to come to Navy Spa & Nails because it's right by my new job and I wanted to try to find a place near work versus the place I go to near home (because I'd recently had a not so pleasant experience with them as well). I came to this spa and asked for a gel full set and a gel pedi. They start my pedi and the water is cold. I ask for her to change it and she acts as if I'm asking for her to pull down the moon. The pedi was $50 didn't include any callous removal but all this frilly lotion and hot towel message. The actual pedicure itself was okay but she didn't do a consistent shape for my toes so I'd give it a 2 out of 5 at best. The woman who did my full set was absolutely horrid. I've been getting my nails done for almost ten years now I have never seen someone do half of the stuff she did and she missed the other half of the important things like checking to make sure my nails were the same length, doing the shape before adding the acrylic, letting me wash my hand before polishing. In less than a week, I've broken 1 nail and another one completely came off (in the middle of the night I might add). My nails are chipping and I am completely horrified by my experience. I don't even want to go back and ask them to fix it because I know they're going to do a terrible job. Even with my short nail beds I've never experienced sure terrible quality service in my life. If 0 Stars I'd give it to them without hesitation. This place is terrible. read more

This is the fourth nail salon I have been to in DC hoping to get pink and white. The three salons before this one did not have a tech there that could handle the request. This salon did a GREAT JOB with my ombré pink and white. I also got a pedicure. Full set and pedicure came to $95 before tip. I highly recommend them. read more

This place has horrible customer service. The male working there did a horrible job on my toes, and wouldn't offer any additional discount. He told me that the discount was not being charged to take off my gel polish. Then as he began to do my nails he broke my thumb nail and said "this must've been broken before you got here." The woman (manager) began to be very argumentative, and told me that I talk too much. Is was at that moment, when I stood up and decided that my business was not needed there. I told her that I was going to be writing a Facebook review, and she replied that she doesn't care. Please go to a place where they care about satisfying their customers! I was pressed for time and needed a pedicure at the last minute. When I arrived there was no wait and only one nail tech there. I decided to go with their Milk and Honey Pedicure which was nothing spectacular. I was under the impression that actual milk and honey would be used but it wasn't (Mimosa in DuPont circle is top notch for that) I gave 3 stars because I could not get my acrylic filled on my big toes bc the nail tech could not do acrylic. So I really was pretty hopeful for this place because my friend gave them a great review. The pedicure took 2 hours and it was a horrible experience. I think my nail tech was brand new to pedicures. She kept messing up the polish and wiping it away with a brush. The woman who did my pedicure kept insulting my toe nails saying "they are rotten" over more than one time. I work in customer service and this is was disrespectful to me and mean. I didn't feel comfortable. The chair that I was in for 2 hours when the back massager wasn't on was digging into my back. When I got up my whole lower body was completely numb and she told me to go to the gym and work out. :/ My eyebrow wax was done by the owner Jenny and was just ok. The nails were the best done out of the 3 but it was pretty pricey for the gel. $45. Jenny was rushed and did it super fast before she had to run out the door for her rushed job it wasn't bad. This place is decent for a quick mani/pedi, I paid $15 for a basic polish mani and $30 for a basic polish pedi ((I got Essie in "fiji")) and was a little disappointed in quality. The mani/pedi itself was fine, but the polish was messy and my cuticles still have polish on them. I feel for a basic mani I should at least get a clean edge for my nails-I could do a better job myself with patience. My toes were done better than my fingers so I guess the pedi was worth the while. The atmosphere was really quiet, they didn't play music or tv so it was awkward talking to the friends I went with because I felt everyone was paying attention, as there was no distraction. Don't ignore the bad reviews!! This was the worst manicure I've ever had. There were issues from the start. I chose a milky pink color and ended up with a translucent, sparkly pink color. The nails were so messy that they were sticking underneath. Though SNS is supposed to be long-lasting they're peeling after a week. Jenny is wonderful and always does a great job. I can only speak for her work. I personally love to get the SNS powder and my nails are always perfection. The spa pedicures are fabulous as well. They take a while, but are well worth the time. The salon also has set prices whether or not you pay with cash or card. This is great because a lot of DC salons charge more if you pay with a card. You can also tip on your card, which is a huge plus for me since I never have cash. Overall, Jenny is a great nail tech that I would recommend to anyone in the DMV area. read more

This place is just a no! If I could give it zero stars I would. I went in a few days ago to get SNS. A service that I have gotten for two years now, and at multiple different salons, so I know how the service should be done from removal to application. I should have left when I saw how they were going to remove my current SNS. They barley took off the top layer with the drill, and then put my nails in a bowl of acetone. The removal usually only takes a 10 minutes. This step took over 30. Then once it was off the guy buffed my nails but was about to start dipping my nails before cutting my nails down and shaping (which he didn't even ask if I wanted), and then got nasty with me when I asked him to cut them down. He still would not shape them, and told me he would do after (which ruined my dip color). As he was dipping my nails he was flooding my cuticle and wasn't wiping any off it off, so I now have dip powered all in my cuticle. When I asked him to fix it I was once again met with an attitude. This could be due to the language barrier because he barley spoke or understood English. At this point I had no idea what he was doing anymore he had deviated, so far from how I have always gotten SNS done. The women in the salon came and took over as the guy slammed his hand down when I asked him to please at this point to shape my nails. The dipping was all done, and he was about to clear coat it and be done. YET! My nails had not been shaped, and I had dip powered all over the place. I am thankful to the woman who took over but my nails four days later just looks a mess. The clear top coat had peeled off on some of my nails. I had to use a cuticle nipper to get some of the dip powder that had been cured from around my nails because it was painful. I would not, and I repeat not go back here. I asked for a refund, and was told to come back in for them to fix it. I am one from out of town, and two they had a chance to fix it in the salon and did not. They discounted my service by ten dollars, but at this point I shouldn't have paid at all. I just felt like I got a service so I should have paid something. I need to get better at walking away or standing my ground when I know something isn't right. read more

The worst full set I've ever gotten. My nails were completely rushed. The acrylic was very sloppily added to the point where they used pliers and had to drill under my nail because there was so much built up acrylic. Due to them just throwing acrylic on, they're THICK. I have yet to find a decent nail salon in the DMV area until walking into Navy Nails & Spa. I was already anticipating the opening once I saw all the big signs and the grand opening discount! I requested a spa pedicure (Winter Warm), regular manicure, and eyebrow wax. Not only was this the best service I've had in DC, but by far the most amazing pedicure I've had in my life. I can't speak for the other pedicure options, but the Winter Warm included a Paraffin callus remover, exfoliation with peppermint scrub, a cream mask and hot towel wrap, and THEN a massage. That cream mask felt like a million bucks and it made my legs summer ready!! Also, it has been almost a week now and I am still feeling like I just had this spa pedicure done today! The attention to detail from the pedicure to the manicure was very much appreciated. My eyebrow wax was done perfectly with no adjustments needed! My feet and nails were taken care of so well that I honestly wouldn't need to go back for a while ... but I probably will make a trip there every other week just to treat myself to the "spa" like feel. This place is so unprofessional and rude. I recieved a piss poor level pedicure from a male that goes by the name of Tony on Saturday. I was such a poor paint job, it looked like a child painted my nails (probably because he was busy trying to watch the world cup while doing my toes). Once I got home I really saw what a horrible polish job he did so I returned today Sunday to get my nails repainted. And they looked at me as if I were trying to get something for free. I let the owner and Tony know the polish job I got was horrible. He then sat me down was very rough with my feet. Once his work was completed he asked was I happy in a rude tone and added cause he doesn't want me complaining again then muttered something in his language rudely and the other nail tech bust out laughing. Surprised by all of the 5 star reviews. I called ahead and made an appointment with Jenny but when I arrived, a gentleman was assigned to do my pedi instead bc Jenny was getting her own nails done. While friendly, this guy was SO SLOW and barely trimmed my cuticles or shaped my toe nails. I finally sit down for nails with Jenny and again, super slow service and a sloppy paint job. I was able to swing by on short notice, it was clean (although they reuse nail files which i'm not a fan of). Everyone was friendly, great massage with spa pedicure. Pedicure is a little messy and she wouldn't not trim my cuticles despite being asked not to. This is my second time coming to this shop. I got a gel mani/pedi, the original nail tech polished my nails with noticeable streaks. I ask for it to be corrected and the nail tech said that's how it going to look because it's a neon color. I ask for it to be redone with a white base coat . The worst manicure I've ever gotten! Took about twice as long as it should, they cut aggressively around my nail bed to the point where the they're really sore now, and more than anything my nails that should be pink are a gross shade of orange sherbet. Also one of the nail's gel cracked prob two hours after I left the salon and a second cracked the next day. read more
