For the record, I rolled my jeans up! You can see the crease marks. I took the photo after unrolling my jeans to show how wet she got them instead of minding how much water she was splashing up my leg during the pedicure. I've been getting my nails done for over 25 years. I think I know how to roll up my pants if wearing them and obviously was taken aback when she wet them carelessly and it was in the dead of winter! So I left freezing until I could get to my car. The more appropriate response from "the owner" would have been to apologize than giving excuses bc this was, in my 25 years of getting my nails done, one of the worse experiences. And it was worse bc I brought 2 guests with me who were equally disappointed (no skilled techs available for our appt who could perform certain nail techniques) and they were rightfully flabbergasted by his response to my review as well. I hold firm that you should look elsewhere for better service and selections. Update: The owner has conveniently removed his original response which was snark and very rude. And has left an updated one here. Yes I'm responding to an older review bc your rudeness has not been forgotten. And I just learned I could add an update to your initial assertion that I should have worn better jeans. Along with many other excuses and no apology. I called the salon for a late appointment on a Monday evening and thankfully they had a spot for me! The place was easy to find and the staff was super friendly. I was seated immediately to get pedicure done. I was also offered champagne which obviously I had a glass of it while getting my pedicure done. The staff was good and their service was great. I got a gel pedicure which it's been more than 3 weeks and it has not chipped! It lasted throughout my trip in Hawai'i which I was really surprised since my feet were in the sand everyday. I got SNS dip manicure with a special pineapple design. I showed the nail lady if she is able to do it and she didn't hesitate and did the pineapple so well! I had yellow nails and then pineapple design for my ring fingers. These were my nails when I went to Hawaii and also this was my nail design during my engagement photo shoot! See photos for yourself! My dip nails are still on and haven't chipped at all. Usually my dip nails would chip if it was on my real nail and that didn't happen. Casabella is one of the best nail salons i have been to in the DMV. This was my second time there for gel and acrylic and both times I have been very pleased by this business. Located in the heart of Georgetown, Casabella is a hidden gem on Wisconsin Ave. The chic design of the nail bar inside is super trendy and the products they use are of good quality. When I got there, I did not have an appointment and although they were busy they were very accommodating and were able to squeeze me in. The nail tech that I had payed great attention to detail and was really great at making sure I was comfortable. Two things that particularly annoy me with acrylic nails are when they are too thick or when there's too much acrylic gunk behind the nail (ladies you know what i'm talking about). This was the first time i had walked out of a salon with perfect looking nails! I also have to commend the techs on their customer service skills and their immense level of patience. Believe me when I tell you, some of the customers in there were the most entitled, high-maintenance, and quite frankly, ANNOYING individuals i've experienced lol. I was only surrounded by them for 10 minutes and I was already annoyed, yet the techs exhibited excellent customer service skills. I called before going to see how long my service would take. I went for a simple acrylic overlay with french polish. We couldn't get to the french polish because my service was taking longer than they said it would. So, I left with clear polish which was fine. But, not even a day later the tips of my nails started to chip. The acrylic was too thin. I tried to go back to get them fixed. The technician Kim that did my nails was not there for the next 2 days. I asked if another employee could fix it. They said not for free, I would either have to wait for Kim when she's back or pay again, when I just got my nails done 24hours ago. I called again, and asked if she would be in and our schedules didn't align. I'm sure another technician could have serviced me on the simple chips but they didn't. I'm not sure if i'd return, but if you need nails for 1 day or a specific event try it out. They looked great for the day that they lasted. Update: I went back and they fixed my nails but one chipped again a few days later. It might've been the quality of the acrylic used but I like how they looked for a few days. The manager was really nice and accommodating. I would give them a try if you want to try any other services. The space is nice and they do offer refreshments. read more

I haven't been here in two years, but this was my go to nail salon in DC (and man are the options skin here). Amy was my nail technician even though I scheduled an appointment with Kevin. She made my ingrown toenail worse after not having a clue of what to do with it, left obvious dead skin on my feet, did not know how to do French tips, and did not cut my cuticles. I always get French so that was extremely disappointing. She was rude the entire time and especially irritated when I told her I wanted to change colors because her French wasn't good (she had only painted two toes). Very basic and avoidable mistakes. When I went to pay, I asked about a student discount and she started being rude again. I'm not coming back. Update: The manager contacted me in an effort to make it right, so that makes the situation better. However, he didn't offer a redo of my services. He just told me that they would change the polish and cut cuticles "as needed." Why would I go all the way back to the salon to not even receive full service? Reading the 5 star reviews, I think going to Casabella salon was not my lucky day. I was not offered water or coffee or tea, or Champagne like the other reviews mentioned. I paid $22 50 for a regular manicure. No cuticule treatment before or after the nail polish. No hand message either. For the same price at other nail salons, the cuticule and a hand parafine treatments are included. The technician who took care of me, except from asking me simple questions about what I wanted, never engaged in a conversation but was clearly engaged, talking and laughing with his colleagues close to him. I have no complaints. Called same day to request two pedicure appointments. Arrived a few minutes early. The salon was pretty busy so I had a feeling it would not start on time. It started 5 minutes late but I was okay with that. I'd say the pedicures lasted 35 or 40 min. The little massage my nail tech did as she rubbed the lotion on felt soooo good. Next time maybe I'll ask if I can pay for a foot massage. My feet were in heaven! My husband also enjoyed his quick foot massage. Though they were quite busy, I feel like they took their time caring for our feet. My husband had a great experience and so did I. I came in for a manicure and an eyebrow wax. It was a weekday holiday and they were packed, so they asked me to come back in 15 minutes. When I came back, I was seated with a nice gentleman who did a good job giving me a shellac manicure. I then was taken to the back for an eyebrow wax that was quick and professional. I used to love this place but the last time I went, the man doing my pedicure cut my skin open with the nail file and that's a HUGE red flag. I realize this can happen but the point is - it's NEVER happened anywhere else. This place is always busy and frankly, has gotten worse with time. In the past I've gone to Allure Nails up the street in Cathedral Heights since it's so close to my apartment, but after a few bad experiences I decided to try somewhere new. Casabella seemed to have great reviews and plenty of beautiful mani pics, and now I understand why!! Kelly did a perfect fill with a gel color in 30 minutes flat. They're not too thick, but they definitely feel strong and have the perfect shape to them. Plus, I get eczema along the backs of my fingers and hands which means my skin is ultra-thin and fragile, yet she managed to not even leave a nick. Kelly has a new regular!! Had an absolutely lovely first experience at Casabella today! The gentleman who did my SNS nails w/ extensions was amazing. He was super polite, made sure I was happy with my nails every step of the way, very detailed and overall just ensured I had the most pleasant experience. I had made an appointment at 4:45p and they were ready to see me as soon as I got there. Upon arrival, I saw that they were taking safety precautions in light of COVID-19 - I was asked to use my phone to fill out an online form confirming I had no symptoms, I was given some hand sanitizer to use and they took my temperature. Everyone had masks on the whole time and they were really clean, I felt pretty safe. The salon is also beautifully decorated and had a very nice vibe. Once I sat down, I was offered something to drink which was really nice. I wish I had gotten my technician's name because honestly he was just awesome. He has highlights in his hair and I highly recommend him as a technician. It was clear he cared a lot about making my nails exactly as I wanted them and he was very diligent at every step. Honestly cannot say enough nice things! He even gave me a nice pampering hand massage and hot towel treatment complimentary with my service (which I've never personally had at any other salon). I recently moved to the area and thought I would never find a salon that I loved more than the one near my old place, but Casabella won me over in one visit. Can't wait to come back! I was excited that this salon opened up and that they have a MON-WED "deal" - $28 for a pedicure on these days. I went on Wednesday. Polishes with the silver cap are said to last longer, so they are $3 more. Not impressed with that at first, but I picked one of those anyway. Let's see if it lasts through my vacation! A glass of coke, water, tea or wine is included with any pedicure service which I liked a lot. My pedicure came out well overall but unfortunately the lady cut my cuticle, so I was bleeding a bit and now I have a red mark on my toe. This type of thing can be avoided if you take your time... I would consider coming back, maybe just need a different nail tech. read more
