I really wish there was a rating lower than one star for this establishment. I have never been more stressed out while getting my nails done. They were incredibly rude to me, literally shaming me every move I made, and seemed incredibly annoyed that they had to actually do somebody's nails and do some work. When I asked to make one nail on my right hand, the same length as on my left she let out an audible huff and laughed at me, while her coworker joined in on the laughter. Usually they do a good job, although I've always felt incredibly rushed in there. I wanted to get a chrome manicure and the girl said "no I don't trust it "in other words she was too rushed to bother. Why would you have those colors out if you didn't want to apply them. A place with the most rude, condescending, annoyed to be working staff I've EVER been to. I had to tell my technician sorry (for asking her to cut the nail tip to the same length as the nail on my other hand!). While she was working on my left hand, I scrolled up on my phone to read an email on my right and she legit stood up and said, "you just let me know when you're done and I'll come back." Felt like I was a 5-year-old being scolded. Had to convince her to sit back down to finish--when I'm paying for a shittily done job. Ended up leaving after she sighed again, telling me I've been moving my hand the whole time, while her coworker laughed. I left feeling shamed, judged, and down. The owner (Connie) of this establishment is rude to her employees (she yelled and spoke to two of the employees with disrespect and sarcasm), and because of this the quality of their service was poor (having to work in a micromanaging environment)-- Could you imagine being super busy, and your "boss" is speaking to you in a rude tone in front of customers. The quality of my polish looks like I did it myself. While I was here to get my nails and toes done-- I could only stand to allow them to finish my toes. I simply would not recommend this place (unless you're a man coming for simple nail clean up no polish involved) -- the atmosphere here is stuffy because it seems the employees are walking on eggshells and have to ask the owner for permission FOR EVERYTHING Smh. I'm in town on business & wanted to freshen up my nails before my 12:30 business meeting. Since my hotel is 1/10 of a mile from Connie's, I was hoping they could take me when they first opened. I began calling at 940am & no one answered but since they open at 10am I assumed no one was in yet. However, at 10am, their phone went straight to VM. So I decided to head on over. They're a little challenging to find, but I arrived at 10:22am and saw there were no patrons -- Thank God -- they can do my nails. There were 2 ladies just sitting there. When I asked if they could do my nails, she asked if I had an appointment. I said no. She said they had an appointment at 10:45. I replied "there's 2 of you, can't one of you do my nails?" Her response, sorry you need an appointment. That's it. They wouldn't do my nails without an appointment despite being completely empty with 1 appointment coming in. read more

"A-ok" spot to get a quick manicure. It's a relatively clean place with nice technicians. I had my gel nails taken off and a regular manicure for $22 total. Gel nail removal alone was $15, so I went ahead with the painting. As you'll see in the picture my nails aren't painted evenly and I'm almost positive she forgot the top coat. It's the day after and my nails are starting to chip. She was quick, but a bit sloppy. Could use more attention to detail. Really bad experience here and all my hard work growing my nails has been ruined. I've been growing my nails for over a year and usually get them done every two weeks somewhere else. After coming to Connie's just one time, three of my nails have snapped right off. Two broke while the technician was filing my nails down (he filed and buffed them for so long, that they were paper thin by the end and he would've kept going if I did not just tell him to stop). One just broke clean off at home, nail polish and all, down to my nail bed. Now I'm bleeding. I think that I'm going to have to soak them all off myself, cut them down, and start all my nails from scratch These folks clearly don't know what they're doing. read more

This lovely little spot is located right off the Federal triangle metro station in the lower level of the courtyard right outside the square. It was a nightmare for me to find the first time (because I'm learning that one does not stumble upon nail salons here, apparently) but once I did, it was nice. The shop is clean, bright, the staff are very courteous and I really enjoyed my experience. A patron and the owner came out looking for me as I wandered around, lost, in the rain, looking for it. I found it... I have been doing construction/woodworking and wanted nice nails for the weekend, so I opted for a gel full set. This shop probably specializes in gel manicures, my usual. It's hard to mess up a manicure, but pretty easy to mess up nails. It's a skill. I don't love my nail. I asked for the acrylic to be thin and it's definitely not. It's uneven and, before I even left the shop, I already looked like I needed a fill-in. Needless to say, it's 5 days later and I definitely need a fill in, so not ideal. That said, it was likely the technician I went to. She listened and tried hard. I really loved the experience and my manicure portion was excellent. Next time I'll get a gel manicure lol! read more

I have been searching for a nail salon that hasn't over inflated their prices, have technicians that are friendly, clean tools, and don't expect me soak my entire hand in polish remover at the start of my appointment. I finally found and tried Connie's Nails and had the best experience!!!!! The price for the dip was more than fair, the nail tech was polite and super kind and attentive, they wrapped each of my nails when removing the previous color, and my nails looked super pretty when they were complete. Things happen though, it was only 10 minutes and Connie was right over. During my appointment though, someone came in to request eyebrows. The salon may be a little bit confusing to locate if you are unfamiliar with the area; it's not actually in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, but near the Federal Triangle metro station on the Concourse Level. The salon is very clean and brightly lit. The ladies, all from Mongolia, are kind and polite but do not speak much English. There are many different nail colors to choose from. I told her multiple times to either 1) cut all my nails short to match my pinky 2) repair it. Nothing was done and the job felt rushed.
