His wealth of experience from another country coupled with experience now in the USA, make him a "hair whisperer." I've been going to him for about 20 years. I followed him when he changed salons. When I made a mistake of going elsewhere few times , Necip always had to fix the damage. He knows current trends, and I trust him with my hair. I will close my eyes during haircut and open them after blow-dry to see the magic. I immediately love the woman i see in the mirror. He is very kind, listens to you but will advise against a look that will not look the best on you. He cares about how the client looks and the way they will look after. The Salon was superlative. They greeted me by name when I arrived. They asked me exactly what I wanted and said that the person I signed up for it wasn't the perfect person for that. And so they rearranged everything and rearranged Necip's schedule so that the person who I needed for my services was available. That was Necip and he was lovely. Worst experience ever! Please run! Emily the receptionist is rude, disrespectful, not client service oriented. Her demeanor is aggressive, Franck and Teri (very rude as well), the owners and Emily would benefit from some good training in using polite language, maintaining a calm demeanor, prioritize listening over talking so she can fully understand client need, and ensuring prompt, clear responses. She often gossip with another stylist (Drew) while he is with a client, distracting the stylist and providing an uncomfortable situation for the client. There are just two stylists in that salon that are good Grace and Necip, but because of the receptionist behaviour they are loosing their customers. Why would you go to a salon with such an awful environment, not worth it for the price you pay. I'm new to the area, and I hadn't been to a salon in over a year, so I decided to give this a try and hope my hair would come out to what I wanted. The music is relaxing, their products are top-of-the-line, and the staff is very accommodating. Max was my colorist, and I showed him exactly what I wanted by bringing him the color of my clip-in extensions and he matched it perfectly. I told him I wanted my front pieces EXTRA bright, and he delivered. He is professional, kind, and worked diligently to ensure my hair came out perfectly to fit my vision. This was EXACTLY what I wanted, and I couldn't be happier. Price: Given the fact that I had a lot of highlighting and toning, it was a little more expensive than I anticipated, but I expected that, and on their website the prices here are very fair. Receptionists were welcoming and very helpful in getting me set up with the right kind of appointment . I booked online and stopped in to check out the vibe and give them more detail on what I was looking to do with my hair -- they have a great setup, doesn't feel crowded even though it was busy when I walked in. Teri was my stylist and did a "Transformative Cut" since I wanted to look into doing a completely different style, which called for cutting my long hair by several inches. But I also wanted a real consultation on my hair and how to take care of it. Teri was really great about making me sure I felt comfortable and walked me through some ideas to get a sense of what I liked or was open to. It was a great experience, especially considering I haven't yet found a regular salon or stylist here in DC that could be my go-to. I think Teri (and salon) might be the one. Big thank you to Teri for turning drab into fab real quick ( I mean, really). Consultation, wash, cut, style, AND a much needed "how to" style my own hair at home all under 2 hours. Teri took my DIY gone wrong hair and turned it Pinterest perfect. Not only do I love my look, but I felt heard by Teri, which you don't often come across. She balanced my hair out perfectly, which has proven to be a challenge in the past. Teri also styled my hair superbly! No crunchy waves, pin tight curls, or awkward kinks or flyaways. My hair never holds a curl but I'm sitting here writing this, with my curls intact 8 hours later with minimal curl loosening. Additionally, the salon is immaculately kept, with artful ambiance. Staff are professional and it far exceeds my expectation for a DC hair salon, especially at the price point. Pricing was reasonable and clear on the online booking application. Teri. Is. AMAZING!!! I hadn't gotten a proper haircut in over four years (had been "getting by" with trimming it myself) and was avoiding going due to fears of another bad haircut. Teri was sooo knowledgeable, warm, and communicative. She spent a few minutes with me at the beginning of the appointment talking to me about what I envisioned, looked at pictures I brought, and made helpful recommendations incorporating my input. Throughout the entire process she was communicative in letting me know what she was doing and why she was doing it (e.g., how she was layering and why she was choosing that method), which made me feel comfortable and relaxed knowing I wasn't going to get to the end of the haircut with any surprises. Teri also asked me questions about my normal hair routine: how do I my hair at home, how much time I usually spend, etc. and then used that info to style my hair accordingly - plus, gave me a tutorial on how to do it myself! I've never had a positive salon experience before this, and am so happy with how it turned out. Teri's cut was absolutely transformative--elegant and so perfect that I could take off my winter hat and my hair would still look great. How does she work her magic? First, she listens! Right? Wow, the reply from business owner Franck speaks volumes and just validates my point made in my review -- if you want insults just go to this salon. As if I wasn't insulted by Teri enough in the salon, the online insults just keep on coming and now from the business owner. If you want to "make things right" you should not say ugly lies on yelp such as " you have overdue extension regrowth" Yes, the previous salon was by appointment only and they made me wait an hour past the booked appointment and then told me that it would be another hour before they could take me. My review and experience at your salon has nothing to do with my experience at the previous salon. I simply asked your front desk staff and expressed that concern because I was trying to find out if this was typical to be this busy or if there was an event happening that night. I was staying at a nearby hotel for a conference and was trying to make another appointment for a dinner event that week. I obviously chose another salon after my experience with Saint Germain. Now, back to your reply of my review of your business --but nice deflection. I did not realize that you "happily accepting" my consultation means that you can treat costumers however you want and in this case , extremely rudely. If you don't accept "walk ins" then you should have turned me away. As I said, unfortunately I had a horrible experience at Saint Germain salon and as I said before I was asked by Teri to brush my own hair after my shampoo. She took a second brush out of her drawer, held it to my face and said, " you are going to have to help me-- just look at this mess " referring to my hair. I ask you Mr Franck, is this what you consider to be good costumer service? Is this what "striving for the best customer service" means to you? I hired you to do do a service for me and I pay you for it. That's how it works. You were paid and tipped well and if I wanted to do my own hair I wouldn't have hired you for the service. Response to owner: Firstly I apologize for thinking her name was Terri. My friend Uriah who referred me to her called her Terri and her name on instagram is "Terri Fe'" so you can understand my confusion. I understand she has credentials and experience which is why I trusted her work until I saw other professionals weeks later for separate consultations who confirmed the unfortunate state of my hair. I went to those people wanting different professional opinions. Fe may have a great resume, and she may have done amazing jobs on other people - I do not deny her of that and I did not speak badly about her in my review, I was simply sharing my honest experience. Secondly, My hair was virgin. I had never treated my hair before and the most I had ever done to my hair was put a diy egg mask in it in addition to shampoo and conditioner. And I was also not on any medication then or now. If disclosing these things were the case, why don't you ask clients to sign disclosure agreements like at doctors offices? Nonetheless, I had zero history of treating my hair. What service would I give to myself if I did not disclose everything about my hair? I would have had no benefit from that, so I'm honestly shocked by how you would come to that conclusion. I followed everything that Fe told me to do. I used wellaplex every week, I used the shu uemura shampoo and conditioners she recommended for me that I bought at the store. When I came to my second appointment, Fe said she was happy with the state of my fade and that I had followed her directions. And when you "gave [me] the benefit of the doubt and even offered to do a complimentary color correction," that follow up appointment was made TWO DAYS after the second appointment because I noticed pieces of my hair were not evenly toned, and Fe said that it just seemed like those pieces didn't absorb the toner which is why I returned. That complimentary appointment - which I also mentioned I greatly appreciated - was not because the color was affected by something I had done to my hair on my own. I mentioned in my previous review that I was honestly shocked about my hair color but was flustered about it. So I know I did say that I loved everything, but I'm just not the type of person to outright express that I am upset. It took me a while to process how I felt about my hair because as first I trusted that it would fade to the color I wanted even though the base was not what I was expecting. It took me a few weeks to really be frustrated and no longer LOVE the work done to my hair. I also understood there was no green, but it LOOKED green. At that appointment, I actually ASKED her why it looked green - as I mentioned in my previous review - and she said it was all pure gray but literally said it gave the "illusion" of green would fade to white, but despite the fact that I followed all of the given instructions - to use the moisturizing shampoo, the conditioner with protein, wellaplex number 3, washing my hair in cold water only, using minimal heat (I honestly never blow dry my hair) - it definitely did not. So my hair color did not fade to green on my own doing, my complaint was that it started green, I was told that it was normal that it was green and would fade to what I want, and it did not despite following the instructions given to me. And when it didn't, and was fading to a brassy pea green, I TEXTED Fe, and she told me "fashion colors fade fast" and that I could use purple shampoo until I could come back again, which is what I used for washes for three weeks before a different professional told me to stop. And even if the purple shampoo was where I could have "disclosed" wrong information, I did not return to the salon after using purple shampoo and will not be returning. I don't know where I gave any indication that I wrongly gave information about the state of my virgin hair. At that time I was only using suave products and after the first appointment, suave and wellaplex number 3 because Fe said I could use any shampoo and conditioner. There were no other variables. Maybe there were variables the second and third time I came in, but those were variables and treatments done at your salon and no where else. Thank you for responding to me, but you essentially called me a liar which I cannot tolerate. read more

Visited today after trying various Kevin Murphy hair color salons in the DC area. Although the hair color product is important to me... the great customer service, styling and blow dry are what made the visit worthwhile. The final style, terrific blow dry and flowy hair made the "I feel great" moment last for quite some time. I know I found a great stylist in Necip when I received compliments hours later, on the blow dry and the hair color. The entire experience was great--booking an appointment was easy, finding the salon from the hotel was pretty easy with GPS, and I was welcomed by Drew, who ushered me in and told me who'd be taking care of me. Gina shampooed me twice, and there was a MASSAGE CHAIR! Nikki, the stylist, gave me exactly what I'd wanted, and while she was expertly styling, we discussed her Pomeranians, her country of birth, and all kinds of stuff! I have been going to Terri Fe (she's know as Fe at this salon) for a little over 4 years now and I am so proud to call her my stylist! I love going to her for many reasons. First and foremost - she has the BEST attitude and constantly keeps it real. There is never a dull moment in the styling seat when I'm with her. The salons can get quite busy and hectic, but she always tends to you with such a great and positive energy. She's hilarious, keeps it real, and our conversations really do fill my soul with joy. Being a stylist is no easy task and I love that she always has a positive attitude. Second, she genuinely cares about your hair based on skin tone and face shape. I've had many haircuts and have had my hair colored by her many times for her to care about my hair. I have naturally very curly hair and she typically recommends products that are helpful to use and how to care for my hair. I haven't had anything go wrong with my hair (thankfully) but should there be changes to expect, Terri always managed my expectations by telling me that the coloring will shift along the way so I'm never surprised. I trust her and the process and it typically turns out very well! Which leads me to my third reason - her color lasts long and fades away amazingly. I will get comments after not coloring or visiting her for 7 months and the results still look impressive, which is always why I recommend a ton of my friends and family to visit her when they get the chance. I highly recommend Tracy at this salon. She is hands-down the best colorist I've found in the D.C. metro area. If you're like me l, you've had a few "nightmare" experiences at salons - where stylists don't actually listen to what you want or promise things they can't deliver. Tracy is the best. She takes time to figure out what you want and will be honest if the cut or color just won't work for your complexion/bone structure but will find a way to get you what you want - which is to look amazing. She is excellent at hand mixing colors to a color structure that's just right for you and her highlights and ombré skills are on point.
