Reservations: Made reservations online and the process was super easy. I'd recommend reserving ahead since the restaurant is on the smaller side. Service: Friendly, attentive staff. Everyone was welcoming and helpful throughout the meal. No complaints here. Ambiance: Cute, intimate spot that works really well for a date night. The restaurant is pretty small, though, and can feel a little crowded. We were seated next to the cashier area & felt less intimate. Food: vegetarian review Really good overall, especially if you like creative/seasonal dishes. We're vegetarian and had some good options. Tofu dish: AMAZING -- definitely the standout of the meal. lemon Pasta: Much better than expected and really flavorful. salad: Tried one of the new salads and the fennel was SO good. Fresh and nicely done. Price: A little pricey, but I thought the quality was worth it. We spent around $75 for two people without dessert, which felt reasonable for the quality and type of restaurant. Vegetarian-friendly: Definitely doable for vegetarians, although the options are more limited than at a vegetarian restaurant. Overall: Really enjoyed our dinner. Great food, friendly service, and a nice intimate atmosphere for a date night. The small/crowded space is my only real negative. Would definitely try Magpie again!

Delicious Steak, But Not for Everyone…read more I went to Clementine with high hopes, and while the steak itself was absolutely delicious, I was surprised that it didn't come with any sides. As a picky eater, I kept wondering, what would be wrong with offering something simple like fries or mashed potatoes? We also tried the hush puppies as an appetizer, and they were definitely different from the traditional hush puppies you might be used to. The flavors were unique and unexpected. Overall, Clementine has a very unique menu and style of food. If you consider yourself a food explorer and enjoy trying creative dishes and new flavors, this could definitely be your type of restaurant. If you're a picky eater like me, though, you might want to skip it. The steak was great, the service was good, and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. It is a little small inside, and reservations are required, so plan ahead. For me, the biggest surprise was that this was probably the first time I've ever had a prime steak at a restaurant without any sides.

We timed this perfectly hitting it at happy hour! Fantastic options and really great value…read more I got the lobster roll that came with a side salad; it was the perfect amount of food and for the money, even better! The roll is toasted but the lobster itself is Maine-style (cold). You can fully trust my opinion when I say it's delicious because I'm a lobstah lover from New England. The salad was a refreshing Caesar. The Spanish cava was also a lovely happy hour deal and paired perfectly with everything. Top notch bar snacks too; peanuts, olives, and a delicious unique flavour on the kettle chips. It looks very nice inside but we went in wearing shorts and Vans and didn't feel awkward at all, especially at the bar during happy hour.

I'm a little torn about this place. My first impression was honestly not great. When we walked in,…read morethe host, who appeared to be unoccupied, completely ignored us. We expected to at least be greeted and asked whether we wanted a table, but she simply stood there without acknowledging us. At that point, I almost wanted to leave. Instead, we decided to just seat ourselves at the bar since we clearly weren't being offered any assistance. Fortunately, the experience improved from there. The young woman working behind the bar was incredibly pleasant and welcoming. She gave us some great food recommendations, and everything we ordered was tasty. The drinks were also well made. If it weren't for the excellent service we received from the bartender, I probably would have given this place two stars--one of those stars simply because I really like the atmosphere and look of the place. Unfortunately, the host's lack of acknowledgment and hospitality made the restaurant feel unwelcoming from the moment we walked in. Overall, the food, drinks, and service at the bar were good, but the initial interaction definitely left a negative impression.

From the restaurant's website I was given the impression that it would be very busy and in demand…read more It showed no reservations available between 3 and 5 pm, so I made a 3:00 reservation. When I arrived there was no one there to seat me, so after waiting a few minutes I went and picked my own seat. The place was not busy at all -- like 90% empty. Other people came in after me and found their own seats as well. I watched the server go to their table, bring them water, etc. I had chosen a very obvious location where I could be seen from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant, but the server did not come to my table. She started clearing and wiping down tables nearby, but did not come to my table. I watched her do this for ten minutes. She spoke to customers at three other tables, but did not come to my table. I went to one of the other tables and excused myself for interrupting the diners, but I was afraid I had become invisible, an emergency I felt warranted the interruption. They assured me that they could in fact see and hear me, that I was neither invisible nor had I died and become a ghost. Phew. I'd love to tell you about the food but since I didn't even get a glass of water I can't help you. I should add that I was dressed casually but I was clean and well kempt. There were big fat hairy men in tank tops and shorts getting served, so I don't believe my appearance was the issue. Some servers don't like to serve single customers because they don't think they'll leave enough of a tip to make it worthwhile. They'd prefer singles to sit at the bar. Well I don't like sitting at the bar, and I'm a good tipper, which is also beside the point. I have to assume this is a problem with management, by which I mean a good manager corrects this kind of behavior, and if that doesn't work, fires the server. I don't generally try to get people in trouble but this person prioritized wiping down tables over serving me, when the restaurant was 90% empty. Those tables could have waited for the 90 seconds it would have taken to bring me a menu and a glass of water. So just to be extra clear, this happened on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 3 PM, and I sat in the dining room to the left of the bar, if you're facing the restaurant from the hotel lobby. Though judging from what I saw I don't expect anyone to care. I mean ... you didn't even have a host or hostess out front. Multiple hotel staff greeted me and even offered me water outside the restaurant, on my way in and after I walked out. I'm really struggling to find an excuse for the restaurant staff.

This review I dug up is from a while ago, things may have changed…read more February 2020 was my first time at Savor (CIA) restaurant in the Pearl complex of San Antonio. By going on a Wednesday (around 7:30 PM) we were able to find parking and be seated without a reservation, but I recommend planning ahead other nights as the area gets very busy (and noting their hours). It was a pretty compact space, no lighting issues, but also quite noisy. My companion and I had to concentrate on each other to carry on conversation. We each ordered the four course menu, which lets you pick one of an item from each course, and I added a wine flight. We each took a bite of each other's food for maximum exploration. Keep in mind this is a training restaurant, and part of the proceeds go toward culinary scholarships. I can distill the experience into three points: The food was very good, the chefs-in-training are talented; The wine flight was disappointing; The server was warm but still in need of training. Dishes I got to try include the Hamachi Crudo, Steamed Blue Mussels, Tartar Brulee, Strip Sirloin, Grilled Pork Tenderloin and Belly, and Chocolate Souffle. The Hamachi was excellent, as were the mussels with potatoes and garlic (someone didn't share her chorizo with me). The main course strip sirloin was also excellent, and better than the grilled pork I chose. The steak was tender and moist. I gravitate toward pork belly items, but this pork was a tad dry. The chocolate souffle wowed my partner, but I found the cocoa note not to be to my liking, perhaps too bitter. I should add that the plates are quite small, so you may not leave full if you're very hungry. Before going into the negative, let me say the food was a fun experience, and I'd go back for another multi-course meal, or to explore the bar bites menu. The wine flight was a letdown, as it was small pours of mild wine, served with two word descriptions, one of which was plain wrong. I don't drink much wine, but I've had enough to know that these wines were probably chosen to be the least offensive. A small pour of a bold drink can have quite some value, but the small pours exacerbated the boringness. The wine service largely informs my opinion the server needs improvement/was likely early on her training rotation. I also had to plate swap with my companion when I was served her mussels. People trying and improving are to be expected at a training or test kitchen, so I appreciate her effort and ability to keep my water glass at least half full. We ended up being quite happy with the food and experience, which was good overall as a date night, but could've been better with a revamp of the wine pairing, or me electing not to have wine. I can't see myself going on my own given the price point of the courses, but I like to treat my partner. I'd recommend it if you're curious about the budding chefs or specific menu items, but be wary of the wine flight.

Service was A+++ food is made to order and came out fresh and hot. Food came out pretty fast. * sangria 4/5: good and refreshing * pulpo Gagello - 5/5 fun fact from Antonio they use 40 cork screws to boil with the octopus to get it tender. The acid from the cork screws tenderize the octopus. With that said... that's why this was most tender octopus I've ever had. Potatoes were pillowy and melt in your mouth. The perfect bite is a must eat the octopus with the potatoes. Perfectly seasoned pairing. * hola paella - 5/5 the best paella we had. It's more liquidity and no crispy rice on the bottom but the flavor was like wow! I didn't think I would like the chicken in it but I loved it. Fried fish, Shrimp, squid, scallops, mussels, clam, and chorizo sausages were all really good. The squid was over cooked and chewy but that was minor. The seafood stock was flavorful and the little green peas added to the paella. Must try * escargot - 5/5 best seller, and now I understand why, it's a flavor explosion in your mouth with the toast. Escargot was delicious! Citrusy buttery hint of spicy and well balance. Must try! Even a dining guest with me that doesn't like escargot and tried it for the first time loved it! Dip that toast and top it with escargot and be prepare to be mind blown! * tuna tartare - 5/5: super refreshing with the mango and guacamole. The chip was thin and crispy and perfect. I just wish they gave 4 chips have enough to eat the tuna tartare. It only came with 2 chips. Fresh tuna and not fishy. It was a great dish to have since it was so hot outside. Cooling dish! Must try * pinche de carnes: 4/5: the flavor of the beef with the chimichurro sauce and the creamy sauce was so good! The two sauces elevated this dish! I have no idea how the meat came out tender yet chewy. It took a while to chew it. Maybe it's the cut of meat or cookery? It didn't look like it had a good sear on it. It was still good and I think 3 skewer was good proportion. All of the dishes were really all phenomenal! Each dish had its own flavors and complemented one another. This dinning experience was like a symphony in your mouth! Each dish held its own and it was so pleasurable to try a little bit of everything then come back to it again. Like wow! I am so impressed with this place! Would I recommend this place? If you are visiting SA, this place is a must try! The proportion is shareable size and you definitely will be leaving full. Highly recommended! We can't wait to come back and try the other items on the menu along with the tres leche! Thank you Antonio for making our experience really amazing! I know that switching tables might be a little bar but believe me when I'm telling you that simply doing a job versus doing it with a smile, makes the world of a difference to me. The food was fantastic by the way , I'd be remiss if I didn't gush about the meatballs and the pizza. I have never tried spicy honey chicken before and I'm glad that I chose this spot to do it for the first time. Everything is literally made to order right then, and there and the absolute freshness of the ingredients shows from the first bite to the very last. There seemed to be other people studying there too as well as what looked like groups of 2 to 8 occupying various tables so this establishment lends itself to family or party friendly dinner reservations.
