so so SO YUMMY! It was our first time after spending so much time in south town. we came on a Saturday night at around 7pm, staff very welcoming. they asked if we wanted to sit inside or out which was very nice. we sat outside, we got pasta and the hot honey chicken pizza, everything was so tasty and fresh! we devoured it all. OMG the mango cheesecake literally put me in a trance, it was DELICIOUS. i also got the pink pony cocktail and it was so yummy and boozy. Our waitress was amazing, i feel terrible because i asked for her name and it completely slipped my mind. she had red lipstick on and black hair, she was an absolute GEM! i recommend.

I made a recent stop at Stella Public House during their happy hour and have to say, it was worth the visit. We ordered the Let That Mango Toast and the Lamb Meatballs from their small plates menu and Quattro Formaggio Pizza. We also had their cider mimosa and the cherry mule. Both drinks were amazing. The food is good, but not amazing, although I did love their meatballs. Service at Stella is very good and their waitstaff is always attentive. It has been almost empty both of times I have eaten there, but it might be due to time of day. Prices are very reasonable, especially for their happy hour and I liked their industrial look. It's a perfect fit for the Blue Star area.

Really great pizza and salad. I got That Damn Pizza and the side Caesar Salad. The pizza had a nice funkiness to it. And the salad had a bit of a spicy kick. Really great combination of flavors. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu.

Food was excellent--best thin pizza i have ever had--well seasoned, substantial toppings--little skimpy but very tasty! All 4 different pizzas we tried did not disappoint/not good service--had to go inside to ask for a waiter to come take our order after waiting 25 minutes then they messed up on our salad orders and pizza orders where we got 2 salads & 2 pizzas and had to wait another 30 minutes to get 2 additional pizzas --then another 20 minutes to get final 2 missing salads--never got our 2 drinks we ordered--hopefully service improves because we really loved the food and sitting outside on a lovely day--great price for lunch $13.99 for individual pizza plus salad--maple balsamic vinaigrette was very good on salad

stella-Visited for happy hour on a Thursday evening and truly enjoyed it! The service is excellent, and our waitress was warm and welcoming. We sat inside at a booth towards the back, and there are a good amount of seating options inside even though the space is rather small.          We had the strawberry chill cocktails on their happy hour, and they were refreshing and sweet! Also had their margarita pizza, which was very tasty. Not too oily and had the perfect ratio of crust to cheese to tomatoes.         Parking is plenty and easy, as there is a lot across from Halcyon.

One of my favorite places to go to on Monday's. (All Day Happy Hour) They sadly no longer off the Royale with Cheese but hope they bring it back! One Monday we went, we were waiting a little bit longer than usual in between getting our orders and turns out our server was the manager that night, he said they were short staffed. I work in a clinic and worked in customer service since I was 16 so I'm more than understanding and happy to wait for my food. (Please be nice to businesses, this world is short staffed and being mean won't make your experience better) I love coming here and can't wait for the next time I can come here for my Monday pick me up.

I tend to forget about this place and not even sure why when it's so darn good. Service was great, a little empty when we arrived for an early dinner but as we're leaving it was a pretty full house. Food was outstanding, everything was delicious.

Stella is a really good option in Southtown for a date, dinner with friends, or even a night out alone at the bar. Their known for a fairly extensive tap list, modern chic atmosphere, and above all, pizza. Unfortunately, their pizza is their weak spot as it's outdone by other menu options. The best thing on the menu is the lamb meatballs. Even after years their quality has stuck with me. Surprisingly, the more ingredients on the pizza, the weaker the pizza. Stick to the basics like the margherita pizza for the best flavors. The beer list is good as are the drinks and the service. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Parking is free but will be an absolutely pain especially during lunch or dinner hours. If you can't find parking in the Blue Star parking lot, go half a block east and you'll find plenty of street parking.

Steak bites nasty

Nasty food rice had no flavor super oily. I asked for the steak to be rare. I had to pour salt on top to even try to eat it . It was really bad . Disappointed. I was really looking forward to it. Steak Bites, would not come back for food maybe just bar. It's very unfortunate because it's a good study spot, but food is pretty bad .

Been to Blue Star area many times and finally went to Stella to enjoy their pizzas. We were in the company of a doggo so we were required to sit outside. Was ok except the fact it was cold outside and our server was nowhere to be found. We were seated and she was going to give us a few minutes to look over the menu, but then she didn't return for a good 15mins, while we were out in the cold, with no warmers anywhere near us, and it was mid-50s. We requested hot tea, to go along with our 2 pizzas. Ended up ordering the Margherita and the Bee Sting pizza. Both were great!! I wish I could say more for the service because his was not it. The food was great, the service wasn't.

I was able to easily customize and modify choices. Lots of choices and wood fire is tasty. But the pizza was cold on arrival.

First visited this restaurant in 2024 on a business trip, came back in 2026 for another trip and this is still our favorite (or 1A with Mon Chou Chou being 1B) San Antonio restaurant that transcends Texas cuisine cliches to create something unique and special. On this trip we had a lovely butternut squash soup, flavorful scallops, a to die for Hudson Foie Gras with extra French toast (a unique pairing that worked), killer lamb chops, a late arriving basket of bread (only service hiccup in the two visits) and the outstanding soufflé which we had twice two years ago. Wine list is excellent and decent restaurant pricing, service was friendly with only the bread basket issue. Otherwise she was a solid server who did the wine service professionally as well. I still wish the glass list wasn't at room temp. We bought a bottle off the glass list and had to chill it. We sat in the restaurant during our visits which is lively and energetic, the patio seats outdoor would be romantic on cooler nights. Glad to see such a consistently great restaurant in a tourist area! Highly recommended!

The lamb was also just absolutely to die for. The mustard crust on the lamb had great flavor and the mushroom & veal reduction sauce was a great combo! Our server Gabriel took great care of us and the overall vibe of the restaurant was perfect for a date night.

Wedding Anniversary Brunch at Box St. All Day…read more Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary with brunch at Box St. All Day. After previewing the restaurant the evening before, we knew we had to try the Eggs Benedict with added chicken, chilaquiles with shredded pork, and twice-fried chicken. We arrived shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and were welcomed by our hostess, who let us choose our seats. Our waiter, Richard, introduced himself and when we mentioned our anniversary, he returned with two complimentary glasses of champagne garnished with gold-flecked raspberries! His genuine congratulations immediately made us feel special. He also shared menu recommendations and helped us choose our drinks: a Moscato for me and a refreshing raspberry drink for my husband. The restaurant's lively atmosphere, soft boho-inspired decor, and beautiful presentation were perfect for a warm fall afternoon. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was delicious. The twice-fried chicken was our favorite, with the chilaquiles a close second! Each dish looked as good as it tasted. Richard truly made the experience memorable. He checked on us regularly without being intrusive and made sure we felt celebrated throughout the meal. We were so impressed that we asked to speak with his supervisor, Spencer, to share our appreciation. Spencer was grateful for the feedback, and it was wonderful to see him helping the team deliver dishes to customers, a reflection of the restaurant's strong leadership and culture. Richard also noticed my military identification when I presented my credit card. Although I had forgotten to ask about the military discount, he took the initiative to verify my eligibility and apply it. As a retired Army veteran, I deeply appreciated the thoughtful gesture. Box St. All Day, you have something special here! The food, atmosphere, and exceptional service made our first wedding anniversary brunch one we will cherish. Thank you to Richard and Spencer for making us feel so appreciated and welcome. We will definitely be returning!

Luckily, we had dinner at Boudro's before a ghost tour, and neither one of these events was scary. We started with the oysters which were unique and delicious. So after reading the reviews for Boudro's, we decided to roll the dice. We started with the tableside guacamole. It's fun watching it being made right in front of you, and the guacamole was good. The flavors were more subtle than bold. Solid. Enjoyable. But I'm not running out to find a postcard to send home to Mama about it. Next came a Caprese-like salad. Again, good. Again, not life changing. Then we met the bread. Oh, that bread. Flaky on the outside. Tender and fluffy inside. This was the point where Boudro's officially had my attention. I could have ordered another basket, called it dinner and walked away perfectly happy. I'm getting hungry just writing about it. Then my wife and I shared the Pollo Asado. The menu describes it as a "Grilled Airline Chicken Breast." Airline chicken? I've been flying for decades. The words "airline" and "chicken" appearing together have never triggered pleasant memories. Thankfully, I learned that this wasn't THAT kind of airline chicken. It was marinated with adobo de achiote, citrus juices and olive oil, grilled over mesquite and oak, then served with caramelized corn, black beans and pineapple pico. And it was excellent. Beautifully prepared, juicy and packed with flavor. The pineapple pico and everything else on the plate worked together wonderfully. The bread had finally found its co-star. Overall, Boudro's didn't feel like the River Walk tourist trap we'd been warned about. Not every dish knocked us over, but everything was good, the Pollo Asado was excellent, and I'm still thinking about that bread. Four stars. And I've officially forgiven them for putting the word "airline" anywhere near my chicken.

I've visited many Yard House locations over the years in California and Arizona, so I was looking forward to another reliable experience. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, likely due to a convention or other large event in town. After being seated near the San Antonio Marriott entrance, we waited an astonishing 35 minutes before anyone came to our table. During that time, we repeatedly used the Ziosk call button but received no response. Thankfully, Nelson eventually stopped by and took great care of us. He seemed genuinely apologetic about the delay, and once our order was placed, everything went smoothly. The food was delicious, the beers were cold, and Nelson was attentive throughout the remainder of our visit. My frustration is not with Nelson but with the apparent lack of oversight that allowed guests to go so long without service. While I understand that restaurants can become overwhelmed during large events, waiting 35 minutes simply to place an order is far beyond what most customers would tolerate. I continue to enjoy Yard House and am sharing this experience because I would like to see the restaurant chain succeed.
