Yum! A nice hidden gem. Parking is a mess but it stops there. The server was friendly and offered suggestions. The food was fresh and delicious. It tastes authentic. I will come back.

Came out for happy hour and what a treat! The beer was $3 off and there were appetizer specials. Everything was on happy hour except the calamari and the pizza. All were delicious. Unfortunately the bread that came out with the meatballs was burned. But we had so much food it was fine. The service was great. Alex was our server and he was amazing. It was pretty empty when we got there at 5 but the dinner crowd definitely showed up. I would definitely recommend!

If you haven't been to Volare Italian restaurant, drop what you are doing and get yourself there. The food is absolutely delicious. We ordered a medium meat lovers pizza and spaghetti and meat sauce. Our waitress Andrea was very attentive. It was a wonderful evening. The ambiance of the restaurant was so warm & inviting.

Been going to the original Broadway location for several years before they moved to Olmos with never any issues--always great pizza for takeout . We decided to try dining at the Olmos location tonight. The positive: pizza--a must. Crust is amazing and really great flavor and the Large was more than enough for two of us. The atmosphere is nice and warm and relaxed. The cons: the worst calamari we have ever had. Sooo rubbery--not made to order and definitely frozen. The staff--the manager (on his phone sitting at the bar) and four staff members sitting around him chatting and never anyone checking to see how our appetizer was. We waited for several more minutes with empty glasses to finally have someone come up and ask us if we wanted refills before we received our pizza. As mentioned, pizza was great, but again, no one checked on us throughout the course of us eating that. Finally, our server came up and started taking our silverware as I still had pizza on my plate. I told her that I wasn't done and she proceeded to place the fork that she touched back o to my plate. I immediately told her that I did not want the same fork and that we were still eating. After a couple minutes, we decided we just wanted to leave and asked for the check and the same server came by to slam the check down on our pizza box. I am appalled by the service and seeing most of the staff hanging out at the bar drinking coffee and not tending to guests. We will never eat dine-in here again! Too many untrained servers and a manager that obviously doesn't care about anything. I always prefer local neighborhood restaurants, but this one got it all wrong this evening.

Hidden gem alert!! My sister sent me a TikTok about this place. The restaurant is actually inside the abandoned Olmos Pharmacy building off McCullough!! I had no idea, I thought it was still a pharmacy. Very laid back and nice environment inside. I went for the lunch special and it did not disappoint! I got a side house salad, bread and butter, and huge bowl of spaghetti and meatballs for under $13 after tax/before tip. Definitely a bang for your buck! About the same price as fast food these days! It was quick and delicious! The service was very attentive. I want to return for dinner to try some wine some day! The pasta was hot and delicious. Excited to come back with friends!

Nothing to write home about. Quaint place but very uncomfortable seating unless you are in a booth. Service was great. Food was good although the salad - for its price ($16) - could have been larger. It was just lettuce, a few Kalamata olives and sprinkled feta cheese. Pizza was cooked well, however a little too doughy for a Margherita. Don't think I'll go back.

I ordered the Rigatoni alla Vodka, and it was absolutely amazing. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the rigatoni was cooked to perfection. The portion size was also incredibly generous, so I definitely didn't leave hungry!

My absolute favorite Italian restaurant here in SA. I have been coming here for the past 6 years and have never been disappointed. Our waiters (Lotus and a man I forgot his name) were amazing. Never ran out of water in my glass, orders were quick to the table and they know how to make people feel special. The pasta alla Vodka with chicken was just perfectly cooked. The pizza is amazing too!

Pepperoni and Salami New York style Pizza, Rigatoni à la vodka

I placed an ahead of time order here for pick up and it was the best decision made today. The pizza was fantastic with beautifully textured crust, and amazing pepperoni and salami. The rigatoni à la vodka was perfect. I placed the order for 8:17pm, arrived at 8:15pm and I was greeted with friendly faces, and my food shortly after. 10/10

Made dinner reservations here for two right before a theatrical show. The ambiance was quite cozy and comfy considering we had such cold weather that evening. I ordered the meat lover's lasagna and a Caesar salad - both were delicious! The staff were welcoming and pleasant.

Every dish feels thoughtfully curated with tried-and-true recipes rooted in Chef Luca and his family's Northern Italian traditions. This is the kind of place where quality takes priority over quantity. Our server, Gary, was fantastic. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about Italian food and wine. His recommendations were spot-on and his enthusiasm felt so genuine. We started with a bread basket accompanied by a little sampling of tapenade, which was savory, briny, and a perfect complement to the warm bread. Came in with a group of four, we kicked things off with the burrata starter--a surprisingly fun and shareable adventure of baked burrata, fresh crostini, roasted cauliflower, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and basil cream. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked beautifully together. For our entrées, we ordered the Tartufo, Cinghiale, Bolognese, and Carbonara. And let me just say, the Tartufo was a full-on dinner performance. Gary brought out steaming hot tagliatelle pasta and tossed it tableside inside a giant wheel of Parmesan. He then topped it with crab meat in brown butter before finishing it with a generous shaving of truffle. Every bite was like a perfectly timed symphony of flavors--rich, savory, buttery, and earthy, with nothing outshining the other. I'd put this dish up against anyone's nonna. I sampled the other three entrées as well, and every one was delicious. The gnocchi in the Cinghiale is an absolute must-try--pillowy, texturally delightful, and packed with flavor. Thank you, Nonna Osteria, for such an epic culinary experience. And a special shoutout to Gary for guiding us through the menu and making an already great dinner even better.

I was in the mood for pasta and ordered (the verdure) a dish with chicken, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and spinach in a creamy Bianca sauce. And of course, we had to end with dessert--the tiramisu was unbelievably creamy and indulgent, with just the right balance of sweetness and espresso flavor. Absolute perfection. It was about 60 degrees outside and we kindly asked to turn off the outside fans which were on full blast. Once. Then again, and again, and again. After 5 attempts asking various people we gave up and the waitress let us know she couldnt turn them off because their iPad control died. We werent upset at this we were just upset we kept getting different answers and no explanation for our entire 2+ hr meal. We finished the entree and were waiting for the dessert for about 15 minutes until we finally just flagged down a waittress and asked to get the check and desert to go because we were ready to leave. We waited another 10 minutes before someone else brought us our desert but no check. We asked them for the check and then the original waitress came back with our check and another set of deserts. At some point I saw another server who seemed like the manager or supervisor telling another worker to straighten the tables outside so the corners were aligned... needless to say the table alignment was not the issue. Overall just seemed like the restaurant was overwhelmed and there wasn't alot of communication between tables and the staff. It seems the staff was trying their best but the management wasn't handling it well. The family that took her in taught my grandmother all about Italian cooking, some of which she passed down to her daughters. Her spaghetti sauce, which she called gravy, was the best. My mother's sauce was just as good. Therefore, we never ate spaghetti out because we knew it wouldn't be as good. Last night, I was hungry for Italian food. Spaghetti was far from my mind. However, a super two for one deal on Door Dash enticed me to order spaghetti with Italian sausage from Albi's Vite Italian Kitchen. It arrived in two foil pans with plastic domed lids. There was enough food in those two servings for me to eat four meals! When I took the lid off, I could not believe how many slices of Italian sausage were on top of the spaghetti. The marinara sauce looked kind of plain and simple but was surprisingly flavorful. I was able to eat a slice of sausage with every bite. That combined with the chunky tomato pieces in the sauce made for a very satisfying meal. Was it the best spaghetti I've ever had? No. Would I order it when I visit the restaurant in person? No. But it was good enough to make me ready to try other dishes on their menu. I think they will most likely blow me away. The reheated portion I had for lunch today was even better! The pasta absorbed a lot of the tomato flavor. I think my next batch will be fried in a tiny bit of butter the way my mother did it when she had leftovers.

As far as the food, we had the fried mozzarella, which was essentially a log of cheese deep-fried and served over sauce. It was delicious, but the cheese-to-crust ratio was a bit heavy. The Caesar salad looked better than it tasted. It was very wet, if that makes sense, and the lettuce seemed soggy. Now for the Wagyu ragu. This almost made me have a seizure, and not in a good way. It was extremely salty and completely inedible, so we had to send it back. The waitstaff was very accommodating and agreed that the salt level was way off, so we replaced it with the carbonara. I'm not sure if that's what authentic carbonara is supposed to taste like, but I did not enjoy it. It tasted burnt to me and had too much pepper. I also didn't care for the shape of the noodles. Last, we had the Americano pizza. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. I just think that if you're going to advertise a pizza with meat on it, there should be more than one piece of sausage per slice. As far as the service, our server was fine. Not particularly friendly, but straightforward and efficient. The manager (or another server) was helpful when it came to replacing our dish. Overall, I would not go back. The next night I was feeling a little homesick after being away for work, and all I could think about was that pizza. I walked back in and the host greeted me by name. I sat at the bar again, where another bartender remembered me from the night before, and Billy came over just to say hi. It seems like such a small thing, but when you're traveling alone, being welcomed back like that can completely change your evening. What really impressed me was seeing that it wasn't just me. The guy next to me ordered two pizzas to go, and when the chef brought them out he smiled and said, "Oh, Jose! I thought this order looked familiar!" You can tell they actually know their regulars and genuinely enjoy what they do. The second night I ordered the Fontina e Salsiccia, and somehow it was just as good as the first pizza. Everything is cooked in the wood-fired oven--even the wings--and you can taste the difference. The crust has that perfect char, the ingredients are fresh, and it's the kind of authentic Neapolitan pizza that keeps you thinking about it long after you've left. I've eaten at a lot of good restaurants while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcome as Dough did. Great food is one thing. Great people are what made me come back the very next day. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Ok pizza! Great waiter…read more Burned my forearm on the hot plate next to the entrance. Why? They have people Coming in and out! When I asked why they have a hot plate shelf next to the entrance and that I burned my arm on it, the manager and greeter state? There is a sign! They took no responsibility for the ill placement of the sign! As you walk in, we saw several People back into the shelf to allow others to get buy! I can see a child burning their hand terribly on this! What did the restaurant do? Nothing... several times we suggested something be done and not until the manager realized that yes, this is a problem did he do something remotely responsible. I couldn't enjoy the food! I was upset? Hurting and taken back by the terrible way they handled the situation. For reference, I'll show you the picture with the barrier.
