Let me preface this by saying that I do not like pizza EXCEPT for Pizza I've had in Italy. It's made so differently than the US and with fresh ingredients. I was surprised when I tried pizza in Italy that I actually loved it! Well, my husband brought me here last Saturday, and as usual, I didn't expect to order or eat any pizza. BUT I'M SO HAPPY I DID! One bite of my husband's pizza took me back to Italy and I have to say, it was probably even better than Italy. The ingredients are so fresh and authentic. The flavors burst in your mouth and work so beautifully together. I had 3 slices and the spaghetti and meatballs! You can't go wrong with Pizza #24 and even though it's a good 35 minutes from where we live, I will be going back for more regularly! read more

We tried a new hidden spot today since our usuals were closed.. and we were not disappointed at all!! We got a double pepp with garlic and hot honey, and the doughnut, as well as a very nice pomegranate sparkling bev.. you can taste the care that went into this.. That said if you want fast this is not the place for you.. and it is so worth it..we have definitely added this to our roster and we're excited to try more from them!! Also on a more slightly tmi note that some people might care for.. pizza makes me bloat one slice from anywhere else and I literally look pregnant.. but here I ate until I was too full and no bloat belly.. so extra points for that! read more

TLDR version - the man makes everything fresh when you order and has incredible standards for his food. He also makes the desserts in house. It's not CHEAP but not at all overpriced for the food you will get. Due to the quality ingredients and methods, none of my group felt drowsy or sluggish after a large meal of spaghetti and pizza and such. I'd call the ambience a bit rustic or industrial - you can easily watch the cooking. More if you want - This place is easy to miss - but don't! It's a very small operation - the owner was on his own when we got there and called in some backup (there were a couple other tables - it's a small place). Service was extremely personable and he explained all the various ingredients, sourcing, recipes and all. I have never had Spaghetti Bolognese like this! He told us that it was his grandfather's recipe from Italy and he recommended it above anything else so I had to try it. Fresh herbs, pasta like I cannot say I have ever had - I can't recall the details but slow-dried in Italy. he even brought us a jar of cold Parmigiano Reggiano to use. The guy is a health nut so to speak and I can tell you that none of us felt slowed down after spaghetti and pizza. He explained a lot and I apologize that I waited to write this and cannot remember all the details. The pork in the pepperoni is from a farm in New York where the Iberian pigs are fed only acorns... it works! The hot honey drizzle on pizza is something I hadn't had and really enjoyed. He is proud of his sourcing and I forget what it was about the pizza crust ingredients but he said "carbs you can actually digest." Those who had the tiramisu raved about it as well. Recommend: Yes Food: I came here craving a brick oven-style pizza after spotting Pizzeria Buonizzima on an influencer's Instagram story, and it definitely delivered on that front. I ordered the Pizza Diavola and the chicken Alfredo. The pizza was huge--big enough to last me three extra days--and absolutely delicious. It had that perfect crunchy, crispy texture with a smoky flavor from the open-fire oven. The pepperoni slices were generously sized, and the cheese was spot on. The chicken Alfredo, while hot and freshly prepared, was rich, cheesy, and creamy but could've used a bit more seasoning for my taste. The chicken itself, though, was crispy and very flavorful. Service:The staff was very friendly and welcoming, especially considering they had only been open for less than 10 days when I visited. You can either walk up to the counter to order or sit at a table and have someone bring you a menu, which adds a nice level of flexibility. Overall, the service felt warm and attentive. Ambiance:Located in the corner of a small shopping mall next to a dry cleaner and close to a military base, this spot has a steady potential for foot traffic during the week. The space itself is small but thoughtfully designed--they've clearly put effort into making it look nice and inviting. Inside, there are several tables for dining, along with a counter area that features a display case stocked with drinks and pastries. It's a cute, cozy spot that feels welcoming. Overall: I'd definitely recommend checking this place out, especially if you're a fan of brick oven pizza. The pizzas alone make it worth the visit, and the rest of the menu sounds just as tempting! read more

Was curious to try this new place conveniently located near my work, so my friend and I stopped by for lunch. It is located in a shopping center with a dive bar, alteration shop, and Latin American restaurant. Interior was clean and newly remodeled. We both ordered calzones, mine had black olives and mushrooms while my friend had sausage and ham. The server stopped by to refill our water every once in a while. Though the calzones were tasty and made with fresh ingredients, we both thought they should have more cheese for the price. I understand food costs have gone up, but $25 for a calzone is quite pricey especially for that part of town. I would return to try the pizza or eggplant lasagna though. read more

Great food! This place has only been here for 11 days and they seem to be running pretty smooth. It's very cute inside, but the location is not great, space is very limited, and there's no outdoor seating. Service was friendly and the food came out in order (salad then meatballs then pizza) which is my favorite. A little pricy for the location but I'll go back. read more

Finally tried out this new spot today and was impressed by everything! Absolutely delicious food made with top‑quality ingredients. The owner and his peer were friendly, warm, knowledgeable, and made the experience feel personal. The kitchen was spotless, and you can tell they take real pride in every detail. I was in the military and I've eaten all over the world. And this is the best way I can try to tell you how good this pizza was. If you have a favorite pizza place in San Antonio or anywhere where or you own and Italian or pizza place and you think you have the best pizza go to this place and it will change your thought process.. this place has you closing your eyes on every bite and doing a little happy dance... Spotted this newer place on Yelp. They've been open 3 months and is less than a mile away but I'd not known about it. Food is amazing! They pizza crust is nice and crispy/chewy just how I like. They use all natural and imported products so despite higher prices we felt it was worth it and reflected in the quality of the end product. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with easy parking. read more

The fresh mozzarella is imported so not fresh as I thought (i.e. made in house) .the owner was rude the third time I came in. Wouldn't recommend this place to any person let alone military coming to Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio. If I could give him a zero I would. There is just no way this business can make it. Things like spaghetti or lasagna start at $24 which is just crazy! They are extremely overpriced and people aren't going to go there when they can go to any other locally owned italian restaurant and get spaghetti with salad much cheaper. No lunch specials either. Definitely recommend this quaint unassuming establishment. Ingredients are fresh and dishes are made to order. Service was great, and someone who seemed to be the owner was very welcoming, explaining the way they curate every dish. Date pizza 10/10. Bolognese 9/10. Truffle wings. 7/10 (could barely taste truffle). Prices are on the heavy end for a café setting. Perhaps formal table service would fill that gap. Overall highly recommend and a must try.
