Stopped by at Florio's the other night to get a quick slice of pepperoni. The pizza was awesome. The service was great and I love the atmosphere. Reminds me of New York. If you are craving a good slice of New York style pizza then Florio's is the place! Highly recommend Florio's! FYI. There is parking.

I will say that this is a nice spot with great potential and the tributes to remembering 9/11 are very heart felt! I wasn't impressed with the pizza or eggplant. Pizza was missing sauce - very dry and needed more sauce. I did really like the salad my preferred vinaigrette for sure but I also did not like that. You could see the guys in the kitchen, digging with our bare hands into these buckets of toppings that go on the pizza it kind of grossed me out and although it seems to possibly be the owner was very nice. The bathroom was also not kept up.

    Two mushroom slices!

New York style pizza commands a certain reverence even outside the Big Apple. So, being able to enjoy one in San Antonio fosters s degree of appreciation. I found Florios courtesy of a google search and had a craving for some good pizza. So, I decided to take the plunge on a Friday night! This place is situated conveniently close to the street at a small commericial suite and lot parking is available. When I walked in I immediately noticed the old school black and white tile flooring, which gave off a vibe of an ole fashioned pizzs parlor. There were plenty of NY references on display, which gave off an aura of legitimacy. It was pretty busy and there was a small wait, so I took a seat at the counter. An older man, presumably the owner, asked me what I wanted and I replied "two slices with mushrooms." In addition to pizza, they have subs and calzones. I wound up waiting roughly 25 minutes for my slices, which is the basis for the omission of a star; however, when they did arrive I was not disappointed. The crust was crisp and baked well, while the cheese and sauce were distributed evenly and not in excess. The pizza here is the real deal and the service is respectable, if not efficient. Was it worth the wait - absolutely!

    Italian Sandwich

Floria's Pizza: Where the Pizza is Huge, the Pace is Fast, and the Attitude is 100% New York Venturing into Floria's Pizza for an Italian sandwich is like walking into a steakhouse and ordering the fish--bold move, but sometimes curiosity wins. First things first: if you're stepping up to the counter, know your order--these New Yorkers have no time for hesitation. They're busy crafting pizza the size of your coffee table with an efficiency that would make Papa John's jealous. The atmosphere? Pure NYC, conveniently parked on San Antonio's Broadway Street. Now, about that Italian sandwich... It was good. Not "write-home-about-it" great, but solidly good. My husband, who once lived just a few blocks away, never even considered ordering it--so naturally, we had to try. Would I return specifically for it? Probably not. Would I eat it again if my husband dragged me back? Absolutely. Moral of the story: Come for the pizza. Stay for the experience. Hesitate at the counter at your own risk.

Doughy sticky pizza and I can't emphasize how RUDE the employees are. Hanzo is a better option in that complex.

We were warmly welcomed by our waiter, who seated us at a table with a lovely view of the river. We ordered the Funghi pizza to share between two people. The pizza was fresh, crispy, straight out of the oven, piping hot, and so delicious. I'd rate it an 8.5/10. The fresh mushrooms paired perfectly with the truffle, creating a rich and earthy flavor. The caramelized onions added just the right touch of sweetness, making the pizza perfectly balanced. This was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely love to revisit and try some of the other pizzas.

I ordered the Sweet Texas Heat pizza--white sauce, applewood smoked bacon, Calabrian pepper, fresh basil, hot honey. It sounds like a whole experience, right? Sweet, spicy, smoky... all the things. But it was not giving Texas... or heat. Biggest issue? Overcooked. And when thin crust is overcooked, it's a wrap. Dry, brittle, no life left in it. The pictures don't lie. Flavor-wise, I could tell there was potential in that combo, but I couldn't get past the dryness. Once that texture is off, the whole thing falls apart. And for $35? I was definitely left wanting. Now in all fairness--the side salad? Very, very good. Fresh, crisp, well done. But let's be honest... I wasn't paying $35 for a salad. I did see some great reviews, which is why I chose this spot, so don't let me be the final word. Try it for yourself. But me? I won't be back.

Fast forward to my visit to Via 313 also a Detroit establishment serving pizza...and let me just say!! It is a must go!! The pizza was amazing (we had the detroiter again) and also the Cesar salad...our friends also had other various pizzas and they all highly enjoyed it. The service was awesome and the restaurant is clean and has a cool ambiance. It was my birthday so they gave me free cinnamon sticks with a cream cheese icing...Sooooo good!! Def a 5 star experience! The Detroiter is crispy, chewy, buttery, and all the delicious things rolled into this pillowy goodness. We ordered the arugula salad with goat cheese, they being it the salad and say they were out of goat cheese, and I was okay with it. Then they come back and say, we did have gorgonzola. I was confused. So they put down the cheese and it's goat cheese. Anyway, the salad was incredible, but let's be real, the goat cheese makes ALL the difference. They were also out of my man's go-tos on tap. Which was a slight bummer for him. Service is always friendly and the restaurant is very cool, like escape the heat cool, with a chill vibe. I still love the heck out of this pizza!

Pros: - Attractive space - Waiter was fine, he was friendly enough. - They had a few gluten free items, which was a main reason we went, but they do NOT have a dedicated menu, you have to ask. - The burrata cheese and veggie board was great. Definitely the best part of the meal, although the gluten free toast was extra brown and crispy. The veggies had great flavor, though. Cons: - Ridiculously overpriced for the quality of the food. - Gluten free pasta was quite overcooked. It was mostly mush by the time I got it. I love that they HAVE gluten free options, but come on, it would help if you cooked them properly. It was barely edible. - Sauce was bland and too sweet. - There was no attempt or offering to make the experience more accessible for my disabled son. No plastic cups, etc. Would be nice if they had more inclusivity. All in all, almost $200 for lunch for a family of four. Definitely not worth the money.
