Fresh made to order pizza! We placed an order through the phone and they gave us a specific time to pick it up. When we got there they just took the pizza out the oven and they brought it to our car. Very nice guy! Definitely some real good pizza compared to other places and we would come back to dine in next time
I have been wanting to try Lovers for SO LONG!This is seriously the best pizza I have ever had, it's so delicious and so flavorful, I had no idea the crust was sourdough, and that makes it 10x better! Also, this location is so cute and it's just the coolest little place. The staff are so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I'm so glad we made it before they sold out, they only had 4 pizzas left and we happened to get lucky and get one of the last ones! 100/10. Definitely come try Lovers!
Did my research and found out the line starts around 3 pm. We came well prepared with a blanket to sit on a speaker and some drinks. The owners were very accommodating to those in line. We were second in line and maybe waited 15-20 minutes for pizza once we ordered. We got really lucky. The poblano was the highlight but we also got the vodka sauce and it was so creamy and bright.Most toppings are about $5 so we stuck to one topping per pizza.The crust is everything on this pizza and you can really taste the time they put into it.Love the idea of this shop! Can't Waite to bring more people.
Based on other reviews, I think I got lucky. I showed up between 4 and 5 PM and there was no line. We ordered our pizza and sat down and our pizza was out within 10 to 15 minutes. We also ordered the bread and butter which came out maybe five minutes after ordering. We really enjoyed the crunchiness of the bread as well as the pizza crust. I also did get their pecan chocolate chip cookie and it was delicious.
Hands down the best pizza in San Antonio. The flavor, execution, beauty of it all was simply outstanding. I've been waiting so long to try this place and the wait was very much worth it. We came on a Friday night at 6:45 and had no problem. We grabbed an outdoor bench and waited maybe 20 mins for our pie. The Poblano Pizza was absolutely perfection. Highly recommend. Might be the best thing I've eaten all year. Soooooo gooooood!

I waited in line for hours before they opened, and they made the wait worth it by handing out free garlic bread samples and beer. That garlic bread was hands down the best I've ever had, and the pizza was easily the best I'd had anywhere in Texas. I recommended this place to everyone and always told people it was worth the long wait, the limited hours, and even the risk of showing up only to find they had already sold out. Fast forward to yesterday--my first visit in over a year--and it was a completely different restaurant. The pizza was overcooked, dry, and honestly didn't taste very good. Instead of serving the pizza on a metal tray like everyone else in the restaurant they served it in a cardboard box, I assume it's out of spite for me not tipping the person at the cash register who does nothing except walk the pizza out when it's done. I tip 20-30% at restaurants that provide table side service, not ones that make you order at the counter. The incredible garlic bread I couldn't stop talking about has been replaced with a focaccia bread that just isn't good. On top of that, they still don't make enough pizzas to stay open during their posted hours, so you never know whether they'll actually have food left when you arrive. What made the original experience special wasn't just the hype--it was that the food actually lived up to it. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. The quality has dropped dramatically, and the service and overall experience have gone downhill as well. I think a lot of the glowing reviews today are riding the wave of Dave Portnoy's review from a year ago. At the time, I completely agreed with his rating. Have heard lots of great things about this pizzeria so we decided to check it out! I knew that the restaurant does get packed, so we got there around 45mins early to get in line before it opened. There were some people waiting in line as well & people continued to line up. When the restaurant opened we were greeted with the delicious smell of the pizza! The restaurant had a very cute local aspect to it. The food came out very quick & everything was delicious! The bread & garlic butter were excellent. I would get the garlic butter on the side as well to eat with the pizza crust. The pizzas were amazing!! Great flavor, the pizza had just enough crunch.
Ingredients tasted fantastic, we really enjoyed this pizza. The only feedback I had about the pizza was that the crust was too burned for me, being a crust eater. I don't mind waiting longer for a pizza without the burn. Overall we loved it.
If you are looking for convenience this is not it, but if you are willing to wait for some seriously good pizza then you will be rewarded. Lovers uses locally sourced ingredients and makes a lot of in house sauces. The pizza sauce is phenomenal and gives sweetness that goes so well with any toppings you pick. I'm so sad because every time I go the desserts are sold out, but that peanut butter tres leches thing looked amazing. The wait is usually around an hour, but they should hopefully have online ordering soon. I usually just do other stuff and they text me when it's ready. Worth the wait.

We ordered a regular cheese pizza and garlic bread, while our friends got the cheese with vodka sauce -- hands down the winner. That vodka sauce was rich, balanced, and unforgettable. The crust was perfectly crispy and the cheese blend was spot on. The garlic bread (really just focaccia with a side of garlic spread) was a little underwhelming, but still tasty. I was very disappointed with Lovers Pizzeria, especially based on the rave reviews. Parking is limited and overflows onto the street, seating is limited, and after ordering there was a one-hour wait. They don't answer nor take orders over the phone so I chanced driving there. The menu is small, which makes ordering simple, but $24 for a cheese pizza and $5 per topping is very overpriced. I ordered a cheese pizza with half pepperoni and half sausage. The flavor was good, but the dough was not crispy, somewhat chewy, and the slices flopped without holding their own weight. The amount of topping was very light, I felt ripped off. Nothing really stood out to justify the hype or the price. Maybe it was an off day, but for me it was not worth it.

Got here early cuz we heard they sell out fast and I can see why. The pizza was so yummy and with their sour dough pizza dough gives it a wonderful taste. This business gets all their ingredients local as they even have a sign showing where they get it from. The service was great we told them we were new so they gave us the run through about the business. Since we're in spooky season they were playing Halloween which fitted well since my lil one was dressed up as a witch. My only thing was there are very little room to seat and eat so u might have to ask for it to go if you don't get a table but beside that their pizza is a 10/10
Okay, I don't even know where to start with this review... OMG! I felt like I was back in Brooklyn enjoying authentic New York-style pizza. These folks have absolutely nailed it. By far, this is the BEST pizza I've had in town! The pizza had the perfect balance of a crispy, beautifully charred sourdough crust, delicious sauce, and fresh ingredients. We ordered the Vodka pizza and added pepperoni--such a great choice! I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other pies. We were lucky to get there just before they sold out for the day, and there was no wait. Definitely a new favorite! Inside and outside seating. read more

The only downside to this place is waiting. We arrived at 3:15 today, stood in line for 20 minutes and was told the pizzas would take 50 minutes. Totally worth it though. There are about 8 tables inside, and 2 outside. People are pretty good about getting up, some take longer than others after they are finished. The poblano pizza is one of the most flavorful, unique pizzas I have ever had. You can see them hand tossing everything in the back, that's why it takes longer than the chain pizza places. The amount of car and love they put into these pies are evident though. The homemade ranch is really good too. Make sure that you get everything when you go up to order, if you aren't quick, it might be gone when you go back. read more

Went in April of 2025 to the location by the Pearl and the line was around block, I got in line at noon and was first person in line. I tried the poblano, marinara, bread and got a free drink for being first in line. They also have free beer while you wait which was the best. They serve bread while you wait in the long line, I recommend bringing a foldable seat and or an umbrella and use sunscreen. Worth the wait. Very low amount of seats, if you're not able to get a seat be prepared to wait outside longer or just get it to go. read more

BROTHER! This place is the bees knees, foreal. I had heard many great things about it, how it's always selling out and how it's brick oven pizza, so of course, I had to try! Now I failed to upload pizza pics and only put the complimentary drink I got and a pic of the "pizza is for lovers" art outside, but don't worry I got you! The parking situation is great, lots of space, so no need to worry! Once entering, the place is super clean and staff is utterly inviting. Now, I was warned we were the last ones to order since they will be sold out after making our pizzas, so we tried to leave before the 6-8 person party behind us heard! With that being said, the wait time was 45mins-1hr, which I know may seem like crazy but understand, everything's literally made scratch and there's a ton of online orders with only a handful of staff. So please, support local and give them time, this isn't little caesars, go there if you want fast food pizza. To my final words, the pizza is spectacular, the flavors and aromas of the sauce is just letting you know how fresh everything is. There's garlic, oregano and basil tasting super "freshly picked from the backyard". The pizza is ice and thin and crispy, yes you can still fold it and enjoy it without all the toppings coming off on one bite. You get what you pay for, it's a little pricey compared to fast food places, but remember it's the quality difference. Overall, I'd say try it out if you can make it on time ;) BUT little hint, go THURSDAYS that's when they are the slowest and do NOT sell out fast. Trust me. read more

This placed open back up - new location so check their IG out! We ordered a vodka pie and added pepperoni. It was gas. Also ordered the strawberry tres leches. You guessed it - gas. The sourdough crust was one of the best parts about the pizza as you really can taste the different between a traditional crust and this one. Definitely one of the better options in SA and honestly a standout. Love that you can bring your own drink and games -- table next to us was playing uno and it was a vibe in here! read more

Only reason they get 5 is because the pizza was great, they are a small new business, and I'm a local. This many mistakes would normally be a 1 star place. Forgot my basil, system they made for counting inventory is incorrect, front staff makes promises and forgets, forgot my basil, skimpy on sausage and the cheese, excellent garlic flavors, excellent sauce, unburnt I imagine the crust is damn good, my pizza was overcooked and burnt black underneath and the crust, atleast they text u 10 min before its ready, waited 35 min on a Thursday, cannot make phone call orders, apparently run out of food often, forgot my basil, seriously limited ingredients list, their dessert was not tiramisu but they called it tiramisu, open at 3pm close when they run out. I'll probably never return, I need to call in orders, to wait 30-45 min because I have to drive and place order in person makes the cost of entry too high. And the pizza is definitely not good enough to account for my time. 4 stars for wasting my time. read more

Pizza is very very good. Crust is thin and crispy, sauce has good flavor with the right amount of citrus and saltiness. Other than the wait time, highly recommended. Order, leave to run around and come back for your pizza! There was about 6 people in line, and my order took 1:40 minutes. read more

I don't think it's the best pizza in SA, but it honestly came in clooooose. I ordered two pizzas, a cheese with pepperoni pizza and the other, the tomato with pepperoni and their spicy syrup sauce. The cheese and pepperoni slices were good and the dough was slightly crispy. The pizza with the spicy syrup sauce was delicious with the exception of the dough. The acidity of the tomatoes with the sweetness and spicy of the syrup, let me tell you, put that syrup on everythinggggg!!! The only reason it was not a 10 was because the pizza was burnt, and I did not like that taste mixed in with the flavors of the toppings. read more

The pizza is amazing and the place is cute. With how busy they are it would be nice if they find an easier way to place orders without having to wait because unless you live very close by you just have to hang out for 1-2 hours before you can get your food. This is not something that stops me from going back but it does stop me from being a regular. read more
