It's not every day you find a pizza joint that doubles as a collector's paradise! The Food We ordered the pepperoni and sausage pizza, and it was fantastic. The crust had a great golden-brown crunch, and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. The "cup and char" style pepperoni was perfectly crispy. This was a wonderfully fun place and certainly an unexpected one! The restaurant is nestled in at the front of a shopping center and is totally decked out in alien stuff. It is fun and kitschy. Think Roswell in SATX. The service we received was great from being seated all the way through to getting our food. We had fried mushrooms, which were not only wonderful but voluminous. I have to start by saying that the staff and service at Maar's Pizza is excellent!! We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Our server, Jason was welcoming and willing to offer any insight to menu items. He checked on throughout the visit to make sure our drinks were good and we were enjoying our meal. As a guy who was raised on NY style pizza; the pizza at Maar's comes close. I'm very critical to those who offer NY style pizza so I tend to be very particular about how it should be done. The pizza at Maar's is very good, but didn't quite hit home for me. The crust was a bit soft and "doughy" which made the grease seep through onto the pan and the bottom of the pizza seem a bit soft. Again, I'm being a bit over critical but I do that with NY style pizza. Overall our meal was great, pricing was reasonable, and I'd come back again just for the service. The place gives dive vibes and seems like it can be busy on a weekend. Looking forward to the next visit to try some other menu items like the wings and maybe the Stromboli. 4 stars only because of a technicality on the pizza. read more

We are new to the area and were in the mood for pizza. We noticed that this place had great reviews so decided to try it out. The GPS on Apple took us in the center area of the shopping center, but the business is located in the corner right near the entrance of the shopping center. Parking is vast, and from the outside area you can tell that they have an alien theme. Once you arrive inside you can see all the artwork and alien themed merchandise all around. We were quickly greeted and asked to sit wherever we liked. For appetizers we ordered the Garlic Knots, and for our pizza we ordered the Area 51 pizza. Everything was hot and fresh and the pricing was reasonable (especially with military discount!). After we walked around their small store located to the left of the entrance and thanked everyone. Awesome Pizza Place! Our server Michael; was attentive, knowledgeable, & deserving of much praise (and a raise) We ordered fried mushrooms & onion strings; both were served hot. Michael waited until we finished our appetizers to serve us our pizza; a Galaxy Supreme; thankfully due to the table for two being quite small. All in all an excellent Pizza place; they even serve alcohol. The alien/galactic theme was quaint; they even have a little gift shop! We tried out Maar's Pizza on a recommendation from a family member. The building isn't much to look at, but the interior is fun and funky. The furnishings are not new, but everything is well kept and, most importantly, clean! It is clear that the staff/owner take pride in their restaurant. We were greeted and seated very quickly, but had to wait a few minutes for menus and our waiter. The waiter ran down both their specials as well as their most popular items, which we really appreciated. We opted to get their $20 special, with the 12" Area 51 pizza (pepperoni with jalapeno juice and olive oil), mozzarella sticks, and jalapeno bites. I also got their Sangria Colada to drink, which was only $6.50 (and well worth it). The drink had just enough alcohol to taste it, but mostly was just creamy, fruity goodness. Lots of cherries and chunks of pineapple, which were fun to nosh on after I finished the drink itself. The food came out fairly quickly, with the apps coming first (seems like a given, but we have been to lots of places recently that can't get the timing right!). We dove right in, and, I kid you not, both the jalapeno bites and the mozzarella sticks are the best we have EVER had! Crunchy exteriors, not greasy, with hot, gooey inards that are bursting with flavor. We will absolutely get them every time we come, and we ate them ALL, y'all. When the pizza came out, it looked exactly like a classic, pepperoni pizza should look. Gooey cheese that wasn't too thick and crisp pepperoni on a thin, but not too thin, crust. We ate every bite of the pizza as well, lol. The jalapeno juice adds just the right amount of heat to each bite, without being overpowering. The only thing I would mention is that, because it has both pepperoni and olive oil, the pizza is super greasy. I had to put some napkins under it to soak up some of the grease before I could eat it (I'm not in my 20's anymore, sadly). I popped an antacid before eating, and I was just fine. You can't beat the quality, price, and customer service at Maar's, and we will likely be regular visitors from here on out! read more

The pizza at Maar's ain't bad at all. The specialty pizzas are delicious. I love the supreme, but the kids kept it simple and enjoyed a traditional cheese 'za. The crust is tasty, but could get tough when left to cool. The sizes are personal, small, medium, and large. The fried pickles were good, and I was pleased that we could order a half order at a reduced price...I was there for pizza. High school help are attentive at the beginning of summer. There wasn't much many times when I needed for anything whether it be flatware, ordering, or refills on drinks. The group on hand actually talked rather than zone right for their phones. They sounded like they were having fun, which translates into a good time for the customers. This place is definitely setup for watching and cheering on Texas sports. It has big screens mounted on all the walls. Texas and popular beers are available for consumption. It's not all brews and mixed beverages. They have lemonade and other soft drinks on hand to wash . I went here with my family last night for our school's fundraiser. First and foremost, as crazy busy this place was, the service was exceptional. We had a very friendly & accommodating host and server. Everyone was so friendly & apologized for the wait. The wait wasn't horrendous. In fact, my husband and I got to sit at the bar and have a drink & our kids got to look around their toy store while we waited to be seated. We were seated as soon as a table opened & I can appreciate the alien theme. Our server greeted us right away & got our drinks, apps & orders quickly. My coworkers and I experienced the worst service ever from one of the waiters. He was working the tables alone and I assumed he was a little overwhelmed. He was very rude. He was slamming our drinks and food on the table. He began yelling at us about how he's sick of people coming late because our reservation was for 4:30 and we had a few people come late. He provided the worst service I have ever experienced. He started mumbling things about us. It was absolutely horrible. He was talking very rudely with people at the other tables as well. Needless to say, we will never go back. The manager did come out and apologize but we were literally afraid of how he was behaving. The jalapeño mozzarella sticks were not spicy at all and salty. My buffalo chicken pizza had the weirdest and non-buffalo-y flavor type of sauce. It was a bit sweet, not hot or tangy. My husband didn't care for his brisket pizza, he counted the 5 pieces of brisket on his 8 inch pizza and didn't understand why the pizza was 17 bucks.
