Had a few of excellent beers - but the restaurant is all about beer, I'm sure every beer lover will be able to find something for themselves. I've been to many yard house locations (typically on a concert day) and they are usually a well oiled machine. This location however I think needs a training refresh. Typically when you sit down at the yard house bar, the bartenders usually clean off the bar with a wet towel and remove the sticky beer/food from the previous patrons and then put down the place settings and black napkin settings. None of that happened. They also always card everyone in the party, I didn't see them card anyone in the bar this night. While there were plenty of staff (in different color shirts - white, black and grey) behind the bar not one person said hello, welcomed anyone on our side of the bar or made eye contact. They were more focused on cleaning the glasses than taking our order. It was just odd. Getting past that, I enjoyed the local cider selection (kiwi strawberry) and my husband enjoyed the Belgium golden ale house beer). Food was great as well we enjoyed the boneless wings Korean style, Miguel's queso and ahi sashimi. Delicious. I also enjoyed the music videos playing on one of the tvs that was so fun. Bathrooms were clean but both needed work. In the women's, I noticed the vacant/occupied switches were not in working order as some of the signs said occupied but they were not; and the ones that said vacant were occupied. My husband noticed that there was no soap or towels in the men's bathroom. It's the little things. Even if you are crowded you should be staffed well enough to take care of these things. read more

Went to Yard House with a group of six to watch the World Cup Final, and despite the crowd, we were seated right away. It was a great spot to catch the game with plenty of TVs and an energetic atmosphere. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries, and they were exactly what I was hoping for--a solid, well-cooked burger with crispy fries and no complaints. It wasn't anything particularly memorable, but it was satisfying and hit the spot. My friends burger came out rare vs medium like she ordered, the waiter said he can have them remake it but she had declined since we were all finishing up. The manager came by to check in and ended up comping her meal. Overall, the service was amazing, the food was good, and the experience was enjoyable. Came here after checking out the Riverwalk cruise which launches from below because it was kinda late and the restaurants were closed and my niece what starving. We came in and they were able to seat us easily. I got chicken wings and she got noodles. Nothing was stellar, but it was fine. I feel like this place is more fun with your friends than your teenage niece, because everyone else, from groups of businessmen to fiend groups seemed to be having a blast, while the two of us were just staring at each other. It was really good--juicy, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. The only downside was that it took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and we were seated right next to the bar during a Spurs game. Let's just say my wife and I learned to communicate through lip reading and interpretive gestures because we couldn't hear each other over the crowd! Our second visit was for lunch, and my wife and I split a sandwich, which was also very good. What really stood out this time was our server. She was outstanding--friendly, attentive, cheerful, and on top of everything we needed. Great service always makes a meal even better, and she absolutely delivered. Overall, we had a good experience both times. The food was solid, the service on our second visit was excellent, and we'd definitely come back. It was very convenient after a long travel day. Since it was a Saturday night, the restaurant was quite crowded. As I was dining alone, I opted to sit at the bar to avoid the wait and I'm glad I did. My meal was excellent; the salmon was especially delicious and cooked perfectly. The bar attendant was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made the experience feel very welcoming. The Riverwalk was to packed with tourists. I sat at the bar as i wanted to watch March Madness. The guests I was seated next to were nice enough to let me change the channel to see basketball game I wanted to see so that was a plus. The music playing was great upbeat classic rock. The entrance to the restaurant is one floor up from the street on Commerce. Maddy was very pleasant and provided service with a smile. She was very attentive to all customers. I ordered the garlic shiitake noodles and crispy Brussels sprouts along with a tall double captain and Coke Zero. Everything was great. Stopped by Yard House and had a really solid experience. They have a long list of vegetarian options. The Gardein menu can be found online or ask waiters and they have it on their device. I tried the Gardein Orange Chicken along with their pretzel, and both were seriously good. The orange chicken had great flavor with just the right amount of sweetness and kick, and the pretzel was warm, soft, and perfect for sharing. Tired and hungry, we decided to have dinner across the street from our hotel at YardHouse at the Shops at Rivercenter. I hadn't been to a YardHouse for years and wasn't expecting much, so I ended up being pleasantly surprised. It was a weekday evening and we were immediately seated even though, to my eye, it seemed pretty busy. Our waiter was amiable and semi-attentive (meaning right when we would start to think "where is he?" he'd suddenly appear). I ordered a chicken-avocado sandwich and my wife ordered the Two Pepper Jack Burger. I got regular fries with my order and she upgraded to sweet potato fries. Her burger consisted of a thick beefy patty, roasted jalapeño & poblano peppers, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle ranch. My sandwich consisted of a hunk of grilled chicken with a cumin & chili rub, avocado, Swiss cheese, roasted tomatoes, arugula, and lemon-basil aioli on a toasted brioche bun. We decided to cut our sandwiches in half and share. The chicken sandwich was exceptional. The flavors burst in my mouth. One of the better chicken sandwiches I've ever had the pleasure to consume. The burger was also excellent, thick, tender, and juicy. While she thought the heat was minimal it made my eyes water...but I can barely handle even a tiny bit of heat. There are places you visit, and then there are places that feel like they've been waiting for you. Yard House on the Riverwalk falls firmly into the second category. Now I've spent a fair bit of time at the La Cantera location, which is solid in its own right, but this one here, right along the water, feels like something else entirely. Dare I say it, it borders on becoming a San Antonio landmark. The view alone could carry the evening if the rest didn't show up, but thankfully, everything else does. Arrived on what should have been a fairly ordinary Saturday. I came hunting for atmosphere, a bit of movement, and most importantly, a proper cold draft. And I'll tell you this, the Bud Light drafts were going down suspiciously easy. Each one tasted like the next one wanted to be ordered. Big ups there. We opened with the poke nachos, which I'll call what they are, a proper table setter. Fresh, light, and just enough flair to make you feel like you made the right decision before the mains even hit. For the main event, me and the lady split the chicken Alfredo. Not always the flashiest choice on a menu this size, but sometimes you play the hits. Creamy, well portioned, and exactly what it needed to be after a couple of cold ones and a Riverwalk breeze. But let me be clear, this place is more than the food. It's the setting, the energy, the people walking by like you're in the middle of something bigger. You sit there long enough and you start to feel like you belong to the rhythm of the river itself. But the food was average, and the manager was a big disappointment. I knew our experience would be great from the moment we walked in because the customer service at the front was excellent. Our waiter (Ricardo) was friendly, relaxed, and genuinely attentive. He made our dining experience enjoyable without being pushy. The interior has a very laid-back vibe. Even though it's right on the Riverwalk, it's chill and relaxing. I ordered the 2 Taco Combo with rice and beans, along with the Kids' Mac and Cheese with fries. My child loved her meal. First of all, Rebekah gave me an excellent customer service experience; however, we ran into some confusion.... On the phone I inquired about the infamous "half yard glass," and asked what its shape was. I asked if it was shaped like a lawn (a yard if you will), and he responded YES!!!! I was ECSTATIC! A lawn shaped glass??? Mystical (I almost cried tears of joy). However, upon arriving at the establishment, I discovered, not only was the glass NOT shaped like a lawn, but Rebekah was a man! (Not relevant to my star ranking, but still, slightly misleading). As a former European, I was also slightly confused at the lack of meters in said establishment. The vegan and beer options were so extensive that I ate there 2 more times while I was in town (it helped that it was accessible through a tunnel connected to my hotel). Our server Nelson was very neglectful of us. First- we had ordered the spicy hummus and then we received the spicy edamame (not even close to the same thing) Second- my fiancé kept having to ask for sweet tea and then he would disappear for 10 minutes and then ask if we would like a sweet tea. Third- I had ordered the twisted chicken Alfredo but I wanted the chili sauce ots just in case I didn't like it. I then received the twisted chicken Alfredo with the sauce in my meal with an extra side of the chili sauce, and we could find our server to tell him that this was the wrong thing so I had to pull someone completely different The reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because of that other server her name is Ally and she was incredible she brought me a whole new pasta and took the other one off our bill she refilled our drinks without us asking and made the rest of our experience better. The dining room is huge and impressive with the large windows overlooking the Riverwalk. Food was just okay, kinda soggy chips, cold fries...just felt like no one cared in the kitchen. Service was just okay as well; the server did a good job of keeping up with drinks but took a while to come back and check on the dinner entrees and we did have some issues to get addressed. We arrived around 6 pm on a Friday and only had about a 10-minute wait, which was better than expected for a restaurant on the River Walk. You can access the restaurant from either the Rivercenter Mall or street. The vibe inside is dark and modern with a lively bar scene. Our server, Reese, did a great job handling a busy night. We ordered a cheese pizza, steak bites with fries from the kids' menu, and the kids devoured their food--so it definitely hit. We also ordered a 10-piece order of wings with Korean chili garlic and lemon pepper dry rub as our mains. The kitchen accidentally sent whiskey black pepper wings instead of the lemon pepper, but Reese quickly corrected it and brought out another order with the correct flavors--so we ended up with extra wings to go. I had the Thai grilled pork chops with cauliflower fried rice and veggies, which were thick, juicy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. I even had room for a piña spritz mocktail (though I'd definitely prefer it with alcohol). Open late, consistent food, what else could somebody ask for? The service here is usually really good. I think the restaurant has a great job hiring attentive and knowledgeable servers. They have this really annoying thing where you can also order on a tablet, but the tablet sucks and doesn't have the same functionality and customization as a real person. The salmon here is amazing, and I like that no matter where you go, it all kind of taste the same. San Antonio's restaurant is on the second floor. Came to Yard House for lunch on a Monday with a group of six while attending a conference at the Marriott. Even with a larger group, they seated us quickly and without any issue. One person in our group is gluten-free and they immediately brought her a dedicated gluten-free menu with plenty of options, which was great. I ordered a hot tea. It was fine, but it seemed like they only had one type; I wasn't given any choices or asked if I preferred caffeine or decaf. For my meal, I got the steak bowl. It was okay overall, but the steak was overcooked (I ordered medium) and the bowl itself was pretty low on flavor. Someone else in our group ordered the same thing and we noticed our plates looked quite different: mine had more vegetables while hers had noticeably more rice. Two people at the table had eaten at Yard House over the weekend and raved about their experience, so I'm wondering if our less impressive meal was just a Monday thing. Another manager stopped by and asked how the 2nd steak was, we just said it was better...and it was. It had the slightest pink. They just had trouble with cooking it medium I guess. We were staying at the Hyatt Hotel nearby and were looking to find a place to watch the Miami versus Florida State football game. My husband suggested this place and it was a great idea. They have plenty of booth, Hightop and bar seating. They also put the game on a tv right in front of our table when we requested it. Our server, Daniel, quickly came over to take our drink orders.
