This rooftop restaurant is absolutely stunning. The ambiance is elegant, upscale, and beautifully designed, with incredible views that make it a perfect spot for a date night or special occasion. The atmosphere alone makes a strong first impression and definitely gives a luxury experience. That said, the food was just okay considering the price point and overall presentation of the restaurant. Nothing was bad, but nothing particularly stood out either. Unfortunately, the service was the disappointing part of the experience. It felt inattentive at times and didn't quite match the level of hospitality you would expect from such a beautiful venue. Overall, it's worth visiting for the atmosphere and scenery, but I do hope the food and service improve to fully match the setting. I'm giving a 4 only because of the location and ambiance otherwise it would be 3.5.

We were attending the SA Book Fair and came here for rooftop cocktails. The hotel was cool and had a minimalist slash decadent slash 50 shades of grey vibe. We were not hotel guests, just there strictly for rooftop cocktails. We were treated very nice and we were not rushed. The cocktails are just normal run of the mill, you are there for the views Definitely great for dates when you want to create a sexy mood and get horny.

This restaurant/bar has an amazing skyline view of San Antonio. Definitely don't miss out on exploring the different nooks and crannies. They also have a small lounge area well decorated and with a beautiful half moon. There is a bit of nudity in the bar side, just a heads up if you bring some children to the restaurant portion. The pita and hummus were apparently really good. The halloumi was a nice texture, though the grilled portions were a bit too grilled and made it taste more burnt that overpowered the original flavor of the halloumi. The lamb chop was tender and quite nice. Simple flavors for the main entrees but all were good and the tzatziki was a good mix of tart and tangy. I think normal price for these items is a bit too much. Though they did seem to have a happy hour that would've been better to hit up. The following morning we had breakfast here and it was equally just okay. I had the apple and speck, which was alright. A little plain and the apples were a bit too sweet in my opinion. The pancakes were good but basic and the egg breakfast was alright. The view is definitely cool also in the morning.

Was staying at The Thompson via FHR so booked a dinner for the evening. Since it was Valentine's weekend, they only offered the Prix fixed menu for $115 pp. We had no issue with that, but the food didn't quite live up to the expectation. This dinner was probably the most disappointing while being the most expensive during our weekend trip in San Antonio. While dining, we also saw that the patrons at the bar tables maybe 10 ft away were ordering bar food, which I would have preferred if we were notified of the option. On the other hand, we had a better experience for breakfast. We enjoyed the milk and honey labneh drink and our breakfast entrees.

Go for drinks and the views! Located on the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel, Moon's Daughter provides Mediterranean style bites for breakfast, lunch and dinner and cocktails. They have the best view of the sunset with indoor and outdoor seating available. Breakfast is okay in my opinion, but I like the bite options such as the shrimp kebab and the hummus. Service can be slow at some points but very vibey.

Visited with my mother in law and the views are amazing! I love that it's downtown and overlooking the riverwalk + San Antonio. Parking was a bit ehh but the food was great! We orders the peach pancakes and the avocado toast. The avocado toast was great but the pancakes were extremely flat. I wish they were fluffier for the price. We spent about $45 for 2 entrees and a coffee. Not terrible. Would go back for the cafe on the other side

Beautiful location, there are two rooftop balconies and inside has skyline views too. They're running a cafe pop up with really creative coffee and matcha drinks. There's some pastries available too. The full menu runs for brunch and dinner and occasionally they have a buffet breakfast. They mentioned it's not regular as they run it to support the hotel restaurant volume so I recommend calling if you're looking for that. The kitchen and service is slow so if you have a large party the buffet is your best bet.

My husband and I went here a few weeks back for his birthday. I had planned some surprise activities to do down town and this was our first stop. We initially planned on having breakfast here, but we realized that we were actually that hungry so we decided to just get coffee and enjoy the view. I ordered the "Moorish Mocha" and my husband got the "Midnight Medina". Both of us really enjoyed our drinks. I was a bit disappointed as I was planning on trying the "Citrus Grove Matcha", but upon arrival the barista informed me that they were unfortunately out of matcha. I appreciated him letting us know as soon as we arrived. The barista asked what we had planned for the day and when I informed him that it was my husband's birthday he gave us a free cinnamon muffin. The muffin was delicious, warm and freshly baked. After we ordered the barista said we could sit wherever we liked and that he would bring us our drinks. We took a seat outside and enjoyed our drinks and muffin, with a great view of the city.

We came here after hearing many recommendations for it. When we first got there, we got coffee and took in the rooftop views before then getting seated. The baristas were running out of many ingredients, but they made my SO the last pumpkin spice latte luckily! We took our drinks to sit on the restaurant outdoor patio. Keep in mind that they will only let you sit on the restaurant half of the rooftop if you are going to order food. My SO's coffee was pretty good. It was nothing special, but the chocolate cold foam on top of it was pretty tasty. I was so excited for my Matcha as I love rose and on this very hot day, Matcha sounded very refreshing. However, the Matcha was very bitter and grassy, and not much of the rose flavor came through. The coffee's total were pretty expensive, which is what I would expect at a rooftop coffee shop. Would I come back? probably not

Great brunch with excellent views of San Antonio. The Salmon Bagel, pancakes, and Avocado Flatbread were flavorful, beautifully presented, and pleasantly light. Highly recommend, especially if you're staying at the Thompso

Went to the Helios Cafe popup coffee bar on a Sunday morning. Beautiful views of the city skyline and the Tower of Americas! Views can't be beat. Free 2hrs parking with purchase. Drinks were also super good and a reasonable $7 for the large specialty drinks. Service was good with a really personable bartender. Would recommend to anyone for a weekend coffee shop visit

Gem Worth Every Penny! Wow--what a night at The Moon's Daughter! My wife and I decided to treat ourselves and this spot did not disappoint. From the moment we were seated, we were in awe of the panoramic rooftop views of downtown San Antonio--pure magic as the city lit up beneath us. But the real star of the evening? Albert, our server. This guy was top tier--attentive without hovering, incredibly knowledgeable, and went above and beyond when the Malbec I ordered was out. He brought out a perfect Bordeaux substitute that ended up being even better than what I originally asked for. Total pro. We started with the turmeric pickled vegetables (bright, zesty, addictive) and grilled halloumi (crispy edges, melty inside--yes please!), followed by the salmon, which was cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was packed with flavor and felt like something special. Sure, it's not the cheapest dinner in town, but for a date night with stunning views, fantastic food, and impeccable service, it was 100% worth it. We'll definitely be back the next time we want to feel spoiled.

Can a 13 year old assist the restaurant with a guardian?

This restaurant is 21 and up

What if I'm late to a reservation?

I believe you get a short grace period but co tact them to let them know and they may be able to accommodate you depending on whether someone else has a reservation after you.

Do I need to make a reservation or can I walk in without one?

You can walk in but if you have a party of 4 or more, best to make a reservation

Why does this place require a credit card when making an online reservation? Is it possible to make reservation without giving out sensitive information?

The credit card secures your choice of indoor or outdoor seating. They don't use it unless your a no show and then only a $50 will be charged. However you can go without a reservation and you should be ok. It's an awesome experience

Do they offer vegetarian and gluten free meals?

Yes, there are vegetarian and gluten free options.

Is there music or any entertainment?

I was there on a Saturday night and around 9pm there's a DJ.

    Where do i park?

As others have said you can utilize the valet at the hotel or there really is abundant street parking available all around. I had dinner here a few Fridays ago and easily found street parking a half block away.

Despite the staff shortage, we placed a significant order for at least ten drinks. My husband had made a reservation for 6:00 PM. However, at approximately 7:30 PM, after we had already placed our drink order, a staff member informed my husband that our table reservation was only valid for two hours. Concerned about the impending two-hour limit and the delay in receiving our drinks, which had still not arrived by 7:45 PM, we inquired with our bartender about potentially canceling our order. He reassured us, stating that other tables were available should additional patrons arrive. Our subsequent visit, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, was solely with my husband. We arrived punctually, approximately five minutes before our 7:30 PM reservation. A female bartender directed us to a small, two-person table, despite the presence of two larger, seemingly more comfortable, unoccupied tables nearby. While initially assuming these larger tables might be reserved for a bigger party, the selection felt somewhat restrictive given the availability. Our seating unfortunately placed us adjacent to another patron who was using an additional chair to prop up her footwear, which contributed to an unpleasant atmosphere. The bartender then approached our table and asked if it was our first time, to which we replied it was not. She then asked if we knew what we wanted to order. We requested a brief moment to review the menu. However, we then waited for approximately fifteen minutes for her to return. Eventually, my husband had to actively call her over to place our order. Our initial drinks arrived after another ten to fifteen minutes. Subsequently, my husband attempted to catch the bartender's attention to order another round and request water. However, she was engaged in a lengthy conversation, estimated at ten minutes, with the neighboring patron and proceeded to walk past our table without acknowledging us. This extended period of being overlooked led to considerable frustration for my husband, who then felt compelled to approach the main bar directly to place our order and obtain water from a different bartender. It was only after this that the initial female bartender finally approached our table, asking if we needed anything. Considering the relatively small size of the establishment and the fact that there were only three occupied tables at the time, the level of inattentive and delayed service was particularly disappointing and, frankly, perplexing.
