I remember Cava being good? This time, it was anything but. I got a salad with various sauces, veggies and a mix of chicken and steak. None of the flavors really blended together in any enjoyable, coherent way. But, the real issue was the steak: it was so tough, overcooked and bereft of flavor that it made the equivalent beef at Chipotle seem like a flavor explosion. You start off by picking a variety of proteins (our go to is the steak or the harissa honey chicken or chicken shawarma), veggies, sauces and a wide array of add ons. We like to add romaine which is a little extra but won't break the bank. Be sure to get a side of pita chips too! I live in Arizona and while there is a Cava in the Phoenix metropolitan area, it is by no means close to me. That being said I was very excited to try Cava while I was in NYC! The location was conveniently located, we had ultimately chose to use the order online function as parking is really non existent, literally my friend parked in the loading zone while I ran in and grabbed our food. I LOVED that the online order gave the exact time your order would be ready. This is super helpful for timing purposes!! The location is very bright welcoming and clean !!!! I chose the Steak bowl and it was DELICIOUS and definitely worth all of the hype! CAVA a brand known to many as a great competition to Chipotle has failed at this location to impress customers. It's not just me who thinks that this specific location in general is serving half size portions for a whopping $15 price tag. I myself went today to have lunch here and go my surprise I was left half hungry but did not bother to complain about it to the staff. The staff are not happy with their work it seems except for the one who asks you at the initial stage for what items would you like. They throw in salad and lentils which I did not even ask for and threw/ passed it to the next employee. They did not even ask me what dressing I wanted and asked the person before me for my order dressing. That's pretty messed up. The quantity seems the outlet is trying to comprise on food supplies. I saw a lot of people during lunch time but it did not fulfill my appetite which is a normal person's bowl of food. After today's disappointing experience, I hardly think of returning back here as it feels like a rip off for half the quantity. They're in hurry and don't care about your order. read more

We love Cava, and it's great to discover a location with more spacious seating. The food is excellent. However, at this particular establishment, the only two four-person booths were occupied by two employees on breaks, engaged in idle activities. One booth was occupied by an employee who was asleep, while the other was occupied by someone else who was likely an employee using the table for a loud video call. I'm shocked that I never went here before as I enjoy their meals plus it's near where I work. I've been here twice once and got a grain bowl and got a kids' meal. The kids' meal is quite large, and I barely finished it off. It comes with a drink, grain, pita, ingredients inside the pita like a protein and vegetables, side of carrots or pita chips. The grain bowl was pretty large as well. I can't really speak on the service as I only did pickup and didn't order inside. The lines do get fairly long during the weekdays as the work crowd goes there for lunch. The only thing I would write about is that the lemonade just tastes like pure lemon and nothing else. CAVA is always yummy and this location was no exception. However, the setting wasn't great. Their beverage machine was under maintenance so there was no way to get any water. They also didn't have the most seating at the time. They had a downstairs area but it was closed. The seats at the bar were pretty wobbly and it felt like I was going to fall off. Update: Cava responded to my complaint and issued me a $17.50 store credit which is what it cost monetarily for the salad but I was not compensated for the inconvenience and frustration of that evening's dinner. Sorry CAVA but this is not satisfactory in my book... I think you can do better. The food is generally great but I was disappointed yesterday when I picked up my order (order #4569329225) and one of the salads was not complete. There was no roasted eggplant dip, RightRice, Harissa Honey Chicken. I got lentil but I didn't ask for lentils. That's about half my salad unfortunately I had picked it up and taken it home in NJ when I opened it and found my salad incomplete. I tried calling the store but no number to reach anyone. This is place is delicious! I chose the make your own bowl with 1/2 greens and 1/2 grains and with veggies as my protein- it was so delicious. They give you huge portions, but even with that you don't feel over stuffed because everything is so healthy and clean. Disaster zone. Ordered ahead to try to and skip the corporate lunch rush... ended up waiting 30 minutes for a bowl that was half empty and had to go back for something they forgot. The organization and setup is horrendous - they hoard all of the completed orders in the back and people crowd around the kitchen to get their food, I should've taken a photo of how many people were waiting. They are overwhelmed and can only find one order at a time. I know they are super busy but other places in the area have figured out how to manage it. First off I was told no photos, but do I listen? NO! since I was here already I had the grilled chicken with basmati rice, cabbage slaw, crumbled feta, cabbage, tomato and onion, pickled onions, diced cucumber, olives, white beans, and lots of tzatziki dip and Harissa yogurt. since they let me lay it on for like less than $12. I ordered for pick-up here. Order was prompt and the lamb wrap was very good. What was not good was the cleanliness and the customer service. The entire floor was sticky as if it had not been cleaned in ages and it was not that late in the day for it to be that dirty, so that signaled to me that it had not been cleaned in some time. When I came in there was literally no one in the store eating and it was early afternoon on a Sunday. The tables were equally dirty. To get my order I basically just went and took it since the lone person working up front totally ignored my presence. Just on the lack of cleanliness alone I wouldn't come back to this location again, but I definitely will eat at another CAVA location that is cleaner, with better customer service. read more
