Even though there aren't many tables, I've generally been able to grab a table. I usually get the Harvest Bowl with some customizations, but got Choose Your Own this time with: - Bases: spring mix, herbed quinoa - Toppings: cucumber, tomatoes, apples - Premiums: miso glazed salmon, shaved parmesan - Dressings: lemon squeeze The addition of the miso glazed salmon bumped up the total to $19.82, but it was really nice. Sweetgreen is like chipotle but focuses more on salads. You can get rice, meat, and other vegetables as well. I tried the caramelized garlic steak and it was decent. Nothing on the dish was bad but nothing stood out. The spicy broccoli was something new to me and i think my favorite part of the dish was the sweet potatoes paired with the steak. Sweetgreen is a fast casual salad bowl chain, and the 1740 Broadway location is the best one I've been to. If you're new to sweetgreen, start with the pre-set bowls like the harvest or the fish taco (which are my favorites). As you move down the counter, you get to add toppings to your custom bowl or check in for the level of dressing you want, if you want it mixed, etc. The 1740 Broadway location has the best portions, filling the bowl to the top. A staple for lunch when I'm in the office. Sometimes my pickup salads have been inconsistent with the dressing (one time they forgot to add dressing and the other was too little dressing for "medium level" which I always get, hence the one star knock-off. However, when I come in and order, I usually get what I expect. The lines are usually long but they go fairly quickly as the salad makers seem trained pretty well. I noticed that they changed their lids from plastic to compostable and also did away with mixing in a separate bowl than the takeaway bowl itself -- probably adding to their sustainability/waste initiatives. Excellent healthy food choices while staying in NYC. I found this place around the corner from the Park Central Hotel. This is the perfect place to eat, if your a healthy eater or a vegan. They have plenty of organic veggies to make your salad with and they also have protein to add. I ate the Green Goddess salad on both visits. It was excellent. I added blackened chicken to it for $3 extra. I absolutely love this place. I highly recommend that you try this place if you have one near you. read more

I can't review the food here because I wasn't able to buy anything. When I arrived, there were only 2 people online ahead of me, so I assumed it would not take long for me to order. However, 12 minutes later and only 1 of these people had been served with no one looking to serve the next customer. The only person consistently filling orders was entirely devoted to a stack of online orders, and while I saw at least 3 other people working in the restaurant, none of them were taking in-person orders. As I did not have 24 more minutes to wait to order my own food, I left and went into the nearby Chipotle, where I was in and out within 5 minutes. If sweetgreen cannot handle both online orders and in-person orders, they should not make in-person ordering an option. read more

The Sweet potatoes with a spicy cashew pesto dressing is a must!!! Though today I opted for my new usual - Fish Taco with the pesto, hot sauce and cashew dressing. I was greeted by Tyrik, who to my surprise was wearing a 'Black Lives Matter' tee shirt. I was blown away!! When he told me it was apart of his uniform, i asked, "where can I sign up"??? Purchase a harvest bowl on Monday and had stomach issues all day. Something is off with the handling of the food here.

I just learned today that there's no way for them to adjust the pricing if you get a premium ingredient. So if you build a custom bowl and get 3 toppings and 1 premium, you lose out on the 4th topping and get charged in pull for the premium. Super odd. Just visited the new(ish) Sweetgreen location in HK and it did not disappoint. It's spacious and clean (just opened in July) and the staff were all very friendly. Quality is pretty consistent across stores I've found and the same can be said about this location. I pretty much always get the shroomami bowl and it was as good as it always is. There are some new seasonal items that seem cool (also rosemary focaccia?!?!) so will have to try on my next visit. I live close by so I'm super excited that this store is open!! Businesses are closing in Midtown left and right, but Sweetgreen has made it clear they aren't slowing down any time soon. One of their newest locations, 1740 Broadway, is close to Columbus Circle, which, despite current events, remains a heavily trafficked area. I stopped by during the first few weeks of the store's opening, and was immediately struck by the layout. The space isn't large by any means, and its arrangement is cognizant of this limitation, as the line leading to the counter allocates enough room to comfortably maintain one's distance from others. When I was there, they didn't allow more than four people in the restaurant at once (not sure if that's changed since then), but it's reassuring to know that customers won't be crowded together inside when they start increasing the store's maximum capacity. Admittedly, I'm not a frequent Sweetgreen customer, and when I am in the mood for a salad, I typically customize my own. This time, however, the seasonal miso eggplant rice bowl caught my eye. Atop a base of warm wild rice and baby spinach was a nutritious blend of shredded cabbage, spicy broccoli and sunflower seeds, roasted eggplant and peppers, basil leaves, and sesame tofu. The roasted vegetables were cooked well, slightly charred and packed with flavor. If this bowl didn't have a limited run, I might have made it a recurring order. My only criticism is that the portion sizes are noticeably smaller here, although it's possible that Sweetgreen is scaling back universally. read more

Horrendous; I have ordered a few salads from here and don't get anything with spinach or sweet potato. Each time that I have ordered a salad with either, there has been sand and grit with each bite. They definitely do not wash their veggies well and the proof was in the "crunch" of sand that was in each bite. This is one of my fav sweetgreen locations in city. The staff knows what they are doing and are fast and decent with portions. Love the indoor and outdoor seating it's a great neighborhood to eat outside and enjoy the summer weather. Seemed sanitary and the line goes quick which I appreciate. Will be back. read more
