This is one of those places that some people, like me, abstain from because it's not rated 4 stars and there are so many 4 star rated places that I still need to experience.  However, going through the reviews for this place, it appears that it got off to a rough start (just sort by the lowest ratings and you will see that most of those poor reviews are from a few years back).  Recent reviews give more praise to this Dill & Parsley location, so I gave this place a shot and ordered delivery tonight. I ordered a custom bowl with Chicken Doner atop a bed of mixed greens and potatoes accompanied with hummus and red cabbage along with some tahini sauce...I also ordered portobello mushrooms on the side. The mushrooms were grilled and marinated with, I think, a balsamic dressing and were very tasty alone (without any tahini dressing).  There was a good amount of hummus and the taste was average.  The red cabbage salad had a very light dressing, but just enough to provide some contrast when I needed it.  The potatoes were like mini home fries and it was tempting to put some ketchup on it, but the tahini sauce and the  hummus served as perfect combos.  The mixed greens did not stand out, but just were there.  The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3, ultimately, was based on the Chicken Doner, which was was perfectly seasoned and tasted very good...additionally, I finished everything!  Going by the historical reviews, this place has definitely improved from a few years ago and makes a great effort in putting out a good product!

Falafel Pita

Another place for quick Mediterranean food. It has a line to pick your own fillings and then they make it. Dill & Parsley is a good place if you don't have that much time. Ordering is easy. There's a choice of bowl, pita, or wrap. Fast is a good description of the service here. It doesn't take much time to get your order. This is one of those pick your own stuff kind of places. At the counter you order what kind of meal you'll get. You can get a bowl, pita, or wrap. It really is pretty simple. They have choices of protein. Among these are meats like chicken, but there's also vegetarian choices like falafel. The last time here I got the falafel in a pita. It's about $7.58 and you can put as many vegetables on it as you feel like. They won't charge extra for all these. Maybe the only bad thing is that the portions are kind of small when compared to other places like it. This is good if you aren't starving. It has good and speedily made food. Prices are okay. There's a few other locations around Manhattan so it's easy to get to.

3.5 stars for these no antibiotics/no hormones proteins. I would've rounded this up to a four had I not been the unlucky one to get the fatty but dry pieces of chicken in my entree. This is not my first time grabbing lunch here but based on the inconsistencies, I'm keeping this rating. Lines can get long at this midtown spot on Third Ave. But it moves, as i honestly need the time just to read the menu board to make a decision. Very clean and well managed - I just got unlucky like I said, with my protein. The cabbage slaw and yogurt sauce are quite good. It's definitely a nice sized lunch set (you get to choose rice or veggies).

Great fresh food and surprisingly affordable for NYC. Loved their bowl combos with meatballs and mushrooms. Everything was very fresh and tasty.

Dill & Parsley was a new discovery during one of my lunch meet ups and I think it's soon going to be my usual, for really comforting homelike Mediterranean food. Unlike other salad/bowl places, this place had fresh and light ingredients, with generous toppings: 2 bases+ 1 warm topping+ 1 protein+2 sides and unlimited sauces (wow). I got the Wheat rice (base) with grilled portobello (protein), eggplant & veggies (warm topping) with cauliflower, tahini and hummus. My colleague got the White rice (base), spicy falafel (protein), eggplant & veggies (warm topping) with cauliflower and spicy marash sauce. Both were really good! Highly recommended

This spot is doing pretty much all togo business these days. It's a go-to midtown lunch spot, so a good amount of their business was takeout even before the pandemic. The portion sizes are absolutely massive and I've always enjoyed the variety of tastes included on any plate. I will say, although they do their staples well, I don't think the menu has changed much in the time I've been going to the chain (a few years). I would love to see some more seasonal options. Also they still serve takeout in plastic clamshells The staff is always pretty nice.. but they kinda give off the vibe that you interrupted their day with your order. I find this pretty comical, but that's just me.

Surprised that the rating is so low. I tried three different items on my visit to NY and all were amazing. Got two different variations of the veg bowl and the falafel pita. Not so much traditional middle eastern style but really good. All items were amazing. Good option for vegetarians. NY is lucky to have such a great chain. As far as the place, fits around 30 people. Atmosphere is clean and crisp. I believe they had Wifi. Worth a visit. I'm adding it to my NY collection.

I had a chicken wrap, it was very big and filling (I'm over 200lbs). Cost with drink $14+. Worth it.

I ordered from this place before with no problem but today I found a metal piece of what looks like a staple inside my beef cava dish This is actually dangerous

Solid place to get Chipotle-style Mediterranean food especially when your other favorite places (hi Ess-A-Bagel) has a super long line. You definitely get plenty of food for a decent - tho bit pricey - value. One thing I realized is that the base bowl and regular bowl isn't that huge of a price differential, so I'd probably go with the bigger one from a value perspective. I get the falafel option and add a bunch of veggies, hummus, and the roasted red pepper sauce (clutch). Everything tasted fresh and I had no complaints. I'll be back for sure.

I'm shocked by the 3.5 star rating for Dill & Parsley because the bowl I had for lunch today was not only delicious but incredibly filling to the point where I couldn't finish it. I work down the street from D&P and my co-worker did not enthusiastically recommend this place to me. Especially after seeing the just ok rating on yelp I had fairly low expectations. But then I walked in around 12:30 and saw a line and thought okay this place must be decent if the line is this long, right ? I was beyond surprised by how flavorful and well spiced my food was. I ordered a bowl with white rice, the tomato & cucumber salad with the pulled beef, babaganoush, kale and cabbage. Typically, you can only get two sides but the server was kind enough to let me get a third for my first visit. For dressings, I got the spicy red sauce with the yogurt dill. I'm a sauce girl so it was the combination of these two sauces will all the other flavors that seriously sealed the deal for me. I took a bite without it at first and it wasn't the same. I also love babaganoush and I would say this was decent but not as flavorful on its own but with the beef, rice, and sauces it helped to mellow all of the flavors at once a bit. D&P will definitely be added to my list of go-to lunch spots. I will probably try the mini bowl next since I couldn't even finish the regular bowl !

Ordered delivery. Really enjoyed the food, it had a lot of flavor and felt pretty healthy versus other delivery options. Got the falafel bowl, the falafel was fine, and mixed together with the rest of the bowl it was pretty delicious. Good healthyish option and solid delivery experience.

Wandering about the city and I was famished when it had already passed dinner time and I needed to head to the subway for a long commute. I walked by, it looked good, so in I went. FINALLY! A MEDITERRANEAN CHIPOTLE-STYLE RESTAURANT HAS MADE IT TO NEW YORK! I've eaten at these types of places in other cities so I'm so glad it's finally here! The thing about Dill & Parsley is that it's a lunch spot, and I, stupidly, came here for dinner and wondered why I was still hungry after I ate everything...smaller portions. Don't get me wrong though, the food is good! It's fresh and tasty, and they have a lot of variety to mix-and-match to your craving's content. Side note: was not a fan of the babaganouj, but the hummus is great. The prices are really good too!

I added to my list but didn't try it until this week and I was blown away! The restaurant is lovely and has a great vibe (although it is a little loud due to the low ceilings). Service was great reflecting exceptional Turkish hospitality. My friends and I started with small mezzes (all delicious) and zucchini blossoms, which I could have had as a standalone meal. Super glad I got to try out NAR and I hope it does well, because the food is straight up amazing. I started off with a glass of the Cotes d'Avanos Narince Blend from Turkey and I highly recommend! It's medium bodied and acidic, with mineral, stone fruit, and citrus, and would go really well with seafood. For food, we began with the mezze sampler, which included babaganoush, muhammara, and hummus. This is a great way to start the meal, especially since Nar serves a delicious bread (crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside) as a complementary starter. My favorites were the muhammara, an intense, piquant spread made with roasted red peppers and pomegranate molasses, and the ever-smoky babaganoush, which was served with pomegranates. The hummus was great, too; I just thought it wasn't a standout. -Aegean Style Cherry Vine Leaf Sarma (stuffed vine leaves, cherry yogurt, pine nuts, currants): Delicious. The savory, salty sarma are tasty on their own, but best when lightly sweetened with the cherry yogurt and tart, juicy currants. -Beyti Kebab (hand minced lamb wrapped in lavash, yogurt, confit tomatoes): This was the most flavorful lamb - juicy, smoky, perfectly spiced - I've had in a long time. The lavash (bread) that it was rolled in was also spiced, the yogurt was cooling, and the tomatoes and bell peppers a fresh and flavorful accompaniment. We finished off the meal with ice cream and Turkish coffee. The coffee took a while, so they took it off of our bill, which was a kind gesture. The ice cream was a different experience! It was made with goat milk, so the flavor was distinct, and it was extremely thick. High-quality and fun to try, but just a little too thick for my preferences.

I got to try a variety of different items, inducing: ayran, chicken Adana sandwich on home bread, Turkish tea, and rice pudding. The ayran was probably the best I've ever had in my life. The chicken Adana sandwich was also quite nice. The chicken was fresh and well seasoned in a good portion with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes as well. The bread was great. It's served with two wonderful, flavorful sauces: hot sauce and yogurt sauce (I much prefer the latter). Portion is incredible for the price. Then, I was initially interested in trying the fig pudding for dessert but they were out of it, so I went with the rice pudding. Again, a huge portion that is well worth the price. So creamy, so good. And, they brought out 2 Turkish teas for free to make up for not having the fig! The people are just very nice here, and the tea was also lovely, piping hot and just perfect. It's a pretty small restaurant but doesn't get crowded early on. They were playing some Turkish music while I ate, and I really enjoyed it.
