The Catfish Station caught my attention in May, right after the storm. Many folk's lights were out, and a lot of people were hanging out at a nearby coffee place, including my furbaby and me. I saw the sign for Catfish Station across the street and asked the locals about it, and everyone seemed to give it great reviews. Fast forward to now, they were absolutely correct. I ordered the combination plate with fish, jumbo shrimp, fries, and a side of Gumbo soup. This wasn't a dish sitting under a hot light waiting to be ordered; nope, this was cooked to order. It came out piping hot and crispy. Did you see the size of my Gumbo bowl? This was a side dish that was only 6 dollars. My niece ordered the chicken and fries basket; it was very tender and tasty. We also ordered a bowl of pasta with a side salad, which was good. Also, let me add that the dining area is huge, with plenty of seating. I wanted to mention that because you will see plenty of cars in the parking lot and for obvious reasons. Side note, the parking area is very big and accommodating. The customer service is superb, too. I had a friendly conversation with the nice man who took my order. As I said before, this was my first time here, and he was so nice showing, explaining the menu, and talking about other things in general.

Catfish station's newest location will have you smacking your lips. I'm a gal who comes from a household where every Friday is fish Friday...ever week, 24/7 365! That being said, I'm alway on the lookout for good catfish and man, this spot has it! After friendly service at the counter, and a quick wait, upon viewing my meal I knew I was in for a treat! On Mondays the catfish snack is on special, and when I tell you, 3 fish tenders, fries and a hush puppy will feed you, 3 fish tenders, fries and a hush puppy will feed you! I'm picky but the fish was cooked to perfection without being greasy, over or under fried, the fries are double fried and shatter on impact, the hush puppies are such a little fried treat with sweet corn adding a noticeable sweetness, and the romalade sauce is pretty dang tasty! Because I'm me, I grabbed an order of shrimp and grits as well. With your choice of fried or grilled shrimp, this dish is equally tasty and filling! In general, I feel cheese grits are a gift to the world, so I may be biased, but these are certainly of the variety made with love and care. Additionally, the smashed garlic bread that comes with this one is (an appreciated) added bonus! I can't believe it took me this long to visit! I'll definitely be back soon.

GrubHub delivery of the family pack (catfish and shrimp with red beans and rice and coleslaw). All was spot on great!! Huge shrimp and skinny to medium thick catfish (I surely would pay more for regular / thick cuts of catfish). Food came in warm and delivery was right on the end of the estimated time. If you get the cringe for catfish and shrimp, do try it from here! Just my opinion.

This came with Alfredo chicken pasta 2slices of "Garlic bread" and 1 box of side salad. 7/10

I got the chicken Alfredo. Def 4/10. Good customer service, no wait, barely anyone in-house. Dark setting when I walked in not much light but clean and welcoming. I called in my order 2-Go. You ever feel like you could've made something better after you've tried the food you just paid for? Well, that's how I felt about this dish. It wasn't bad, just unseasoned and the chicken was tough as helll. So tough that I couldn't even cut the chicken with the plastic ware provided...... I couldn't even cut the chicken.... And it was irritating because it looks as if someone tried to cut it but just said f it. That whole meal should've been $5 maybe 6-7. Ble$$

Holy cow!!!!! This place is legit, best catfish meal I have had in some time. Had the 5 piece catfish with hushpuppies, and dirty rice. The dirty rice was awesome, great taste and served a the perfect temperature. The hushpuppies are pretty good also they have little pieces of corn in each one that makes them unique. The star of the show is the catfish. Clean and perfectly fried, I challenge you to find better.

I've eaten at this restaurant a few times and have enjoyed all of their food. The fish, shrimp, and even the fries hit every time. I took a chance on their chicken wings last night and was pleasantly surprised. Lots of flavor and the chicken was juicy. The Cajun candy sauce is delicious. I think next time I'll sit and dine in. On a side note though, the peach cobbler and bread pudding need some attention. Pleasant and attentive service.

First time here , it's close to home and wanted to support local business , We ordered a po-boy 8.99 And shrimp e touffe 13.99 / a side of Mac and cheese + 2 drinks 1.99 each. Catfish was just okay. I like my batter very crispy with a crunch when I bite into it. Batter okay flavor. Fries were okay but kind of soggy. Hush puppies were good. The best was crawfish pile with crab filet sauce! I dipped everything in the small, styrofoam cup. Wow! This place caught me off guard. I've seen it in the spot of the old CiCi's here for a while but I blew it off a few times. So happy I finally got a chance to try it out. I walked in to a near empty Catfish Station and was greeted warmly by the counter girl. I asked her a few questions about the menu and she didn't seem bothered to answer and give her opinion on the menu items. I decided on the shrimp poboy and she steered me towards the cheese grits. The grits were the show stopper! These were not JUST cheese grits, they had loads of seasoning, sausage, peppers, and onions. Cheese grits here means an explosion of flavor. They came out steaming hot. They were so good I had to burn my mouth a few times just to get to them. The poboy was not new but it was hot and my shrimp were crunchy. Tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles were all very fresh. Their house mayo, cocktail, and remoulade all set this off for me. The french bread was perfectly crunch and soft. Overall, I'm happy CiCi's made room for this new spot for quick canjun food. read more

I'm upset at myself! Because I have worked across the street from this location for over a year and a half! And I literally two days ago decided to try this location?! To say I'm disappointed in myself, is speaking mildly! The food here and the staff is nothing but 5 stars! The price you would think is a bit much for a location that appears to be fast food related... LISTEN! This is not fast food. This is authentic delicious and BOLD Cajun style flavors! I had their seafood platter that comes with blackened catfish and shrimp?! Can I take a minute... I have spent a great deal of time in New Orleans because the food is simply amazing!! The food, staff and atmosphere was amazing. I was very impressed. This is by far one of my the BEST RESTAURANTS that mimics the Creole cooking of New Orleans. As you walk in, the staff are greeting you immediately. The food was freshly cooked to order and presentation was beautiful. The prices are family friendly. The whole family would enjoy. Catfish and shrimp were good. Seasoned well! Pieces are about average for the price!! Britany was awesome considering my first time. She explained the different things they offer which I found to be interesting.....all sauces are homemade, you can bring your own alcoholic beverages and if you decide to bring more than one they will put extra in cooler for you, Wednesday is kids eat free and Wednesday you get 1lb of catfish for $10, Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, and SENIOR CITIZEN DAY IS EVERYDAY!!! That ROCKS, yeah for senior citizen day! The ambiance is really nice and upbeat, music fits atmosphere. Employees constantly check on customers and greets you going and coming. Very spacious dining area with very open floor plan ...lol! Feel like I'm selling homes or something! Does smell a lil "seafoody" but I think that is to be expected. Great fried catfish! Better than you'll find at popular restaurants in Houston. Not a fan of any of the sides they offer but check for yourself. Service is always good. Usually get to go orders so I'm in and out. It's byob as well if you dine in. read more

Today I cautiously tried the turkey leg stuffed with dirty rice. To my surprise, it was superb. The meat was the most tender & moist turkey meat I have ever had. The dirty rice was quite good also, especially after I added just a pinch of salt. read more

Been here a few times and they never seem to disappoint. Picked up a combination basket with fried fish and shrimp and this is pretty good fried seafood. Their menu has several New Orleans favorites like chicken and sausage gumbo, shrimp creole, eutofee, etc. The combination basket comes with fries, which are pretty good, and hush puppies that are really good! The fried fish is some of the best you will find. They also sell fish and shrimp by the pound which may be a good choice for families or small parties. Can't wait to stop in again. read more

The food was okay, my rice was undercooked so I really couldn't enjoy it. Also the manager forgot to pack my side dish and when it came out to the kitchen window the employees wouldn't even grab it to give it to me! They just sat their talking amongst themselves complaining about the manager. Eventually, the manager had to come out of the kitchen to give me the food. Maybe it was just a bad day but I definitely wouldn't spend my money here again. :( read more

My favorites ranking in order Hush puppies: I've not found better Hushpupoies. These are excellent and the flavor is phenomenal. You can actually taste the breading (not just fires grease). Catfish is perfect. Perfect size, flavor, breading, thickness. You won't be disappointed with the menu. Bonus: bread pudding is superb. A must try. read more

Went to visit this location and all I can say is that I will not be back. The fries lacked flavor and tasted like old grease. The fish was ok. The shrimp was ok. There were flies flying around my food. I would not recommend this establishment. read more

This place is soooooo food!! A co worker recommended them and i went today and for the catfish platter with one side. I got red beans and rice!! I must say i am very pleased with this place and i will be back!! They were very quick to get my order out and they were so nice and friendly! Their food is tremendous, as is their service! My only problem with them is that they don't open right after I get out of church on Sunday to head there for lunch, but I'm sure that's because they are at their own services! On the one occasion I had them put together a large order for a party, all of my order was correct and I was able to pick it up right at the time I scheduled. read more

After the disappointment from the location on Kirby, I am so glad I gave this one a shot! A coworker mentioned how much he liked this one, which is close to both our neighborhoods, so I decided to give it a try. Food has always been fresh, hot, and with great flavor. This used to be a really good restaurant.. not sure what changed but on my visit today the service was horrible, the lady that took my orders ignored that fact that I was standing there and when she did come over she wasn't friendly at all... and the food didn't seem fresh and smaller portions.. My go to order is a traditional breakfast bowl with red salsa, a cold brew with 1/2 and 1/2 and vanilla, and a chicken cobb salad with feta and ranch instead of the bleu cheese. Honorable mention to their BBQ Ranch salad because it's also really good! One thing I really love about this place is that you can get breakfast, coffee and lunch for less than $12. It's a place I could easily eat most days of the week.

The noise level was moderate throughout our stay such that one could easily carry on a conversation with table mates without having to scream. Almost all patrons were nicely dressed. Since this is a Michelin acknowledged restaurant two years in a row, we were expecting uniqueness and we were not disappointed. That said, food was very good, but I would not rate it as spectacular. The blue fin tuna tostados were delightful and hands down the best dish we had. Ceviche mixto was excellent with a just a hint of heat. I would order these two appetizer dishes again. Main courses consisted of duck 2 ways, redfish with green mole and risotto, spring cavatelli, and grilled shrimp & pork belly. All were delicious and uniquely tasty with the exception of the duck. Mind you, I really like duck and the sliced portions were excellent and perfectly seasoned and moist, but the pate-like accompaniment was not that good, plus the mole sauce was not what I was expecting. Table sides of Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower were good but nothing special. The Eton Mess with strawberries was simply delicious. Would I go back? Maybe, but not anytime soon.

I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate incident that occurred during my recent visit to Catfish Station at the location on 18416 Kuykendahl Rd in Houston, Texas, 77379. I believe it is important for you to be aware of the situation so that appropriate measures can be taken to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent similar occurrences in the future. On February 9, I placed an order for a family meal through Yelp, amounting to approximately $48. However, upon arriving home, I discovered that there was a mix-up, and I had received a kids' meal instead that included two pieces of fish and fries. Understandably, I was disappointed as I had paid for a larger meal to accommodate my family. I immediately contacted the store and had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Ray. He was very understanding and apologetic. Mr. Ray mentioned that he had attempted to reach me but was unable to do so. He graciously offered to make a fresh meal for me if I could return to the store the same day. However, living 45 minutes away, I felt it was impractical to do so. Mr. Ray suggested that I could come in the next day, despite his absence, and informed me that he would leave a note for the general manager regarding the situation. Following his advice, I spoke to the manager on staff today, February 10 at 2:06pm CST. Unfortunately, the manager, whose name I'm uncertain of, was incredibly rude and denied having any knowledge of the issue. He insisted that I speak with Mr. Ray on Monday, as it was not their policy to honor such requests. As someone who works in customer service, I found this experience to be quite alarming. Mr. Ray had assured me that I could address the matter, but the manager on duty today insisted that I wait until Monday. Considering the significant amount of money I spent on the order, it is disheartening to see that it is not being honored, especially when the mistake was on the part of Catfish Station. Throughout my interaction with Mr. Ray, he displayed excellent customer service skills and genuine concern. However, the behavior of the manager on staff today left much to be desired. I have been a loyal customer of Catfish Station for several years and have never encountered such a problem with the service until today. Regrettably, I am left with no choice but to express my dissatisfaction through negative reviews going forward. I believe it is crucial for you to be aware of this incident and the impact it may have on your reputation. I genuinely hope that this incident was an isolated one, and that Catfish Station at the location on 18416 Kuykendahl Rd in Houston, Texas, 77379 will continue to provide the excellent service that I have come to expect over the years. read more
