This was my second time trying out this place and it's pretty good. I ordered Tomato Basil Soup and Chicken Caesar Spinach Wrap with a few additional vegetables. Everything appeared to be fresh, the wrap was a decent size, and tasted good. The soup was really good as well. Restaurant was clean. They had no customers so service was speedy. Service here was friendly and the place was clean. However, I agree with the other reviewers that the salads here are overpriced for their size and quality. The bread rolls that come with the salads look, feel, and taste like airplane bread rolls - you can even taste all the refined sugars. Not a fan. I'm not huge into customizing my salads so I will probably just go to the nearby Kroger and pick up a cheaper premade salad next time I would like to eat healthy. read more

The lady that works there is so nice and friendly. It makes going to eat really enjoyable. I had the small Asian chicken salad and it was the perfect size for lunch. It had a lot of chicken and was very fresh. I don't know how big the large is, but the small is enough for lunch for me. The Italian sandwich is really good. The bread is a nice crunchy chewy bread and the large is huge! It had to be a foot long. I took a few bites of my husband's sandwich and he was still pretty full after he ate it. Do not eat here! Both my guy and I were sick this morning after eating lunch here. You walk in and it seems very clean and organized. I should have known better than to disregard the HUGE chunks of black mold that came out of the tea urn. I served myself ice from the soda machine. Then I proceeded to pour green tea into my cup for my beverage. Big black gunk poured out Into my cup. This was NOT tea leaves. I am positive! I told the cashier and showed her what I pulled out and squeezed it between my fingers. She apologized and gave me a new cup. I then opted for a Pepsi. We received our order and neither of the two employees came out to empty the tea urn and take it to the back to disassemble the spout and clean it. We ate our meal and still the tea urn sat on the counter for people to use. Not until we got up to leave and they asked how everything was, and we inquired about the tea urn, did they finally react. This was disturbing. I didn't think about it again. We went on with our day and I made dinner at home. Being in the food industry myself, I know how long it takes to react to anything bad you ingest. I am certain the ice bin and Pepsi nozzles are so dirty with black mold and this is what got us sick. I should have know better. The second knock to this establishment is that we attempted to have dinner the night before and arrived at 6:45pm. The web states they close at 8pm. When we arrived the two staff members had everything covered and said they close at 7pm. The window also states 8pm, but hey, who are we. The salad was good. TBS is seriously the BEST place to get a salad, wrap, or sandwich, the way you want it. The pre-made options all sound amazing, but I really enjoy the freedom and creativity involved in the "build-your-own" process. The staff is super sweet and oh so helpful in recommendations. I am very indecisive, but they don't rush me along like they do at Salata. You can even try ingredients you aren't sure about and taste test any of their AMAZING dressings! Don't even get me started on the soups...the broccoli cheddar is my favorite and you would never believe it has so few calories! The prices are low, and the portions are huge! I get the "small" size, but can barely finish it. I like eating here because the music is great and everything is very clean. In the build your own salad I asked for very few items (picky eater) and got very little of each so I asked for more (it is a build your own) I got spinach, black olives, several cheeses croutons and when it came to protein there was a little bit of scraps for bacon and I asked for bacon and what he could scrape up wasn't even enough to fill the scoop spoon and when I asked is that's ll the bacon his response "yeah for now". So why would you serve me the scraps that are left that don't even fill the spoon if you aren't planning on getting more? The 3/5 stars is coming from past experiences bc today's staff when I came at noon are a joke and I won't be buying any more salads if they are the staff I see when I walk in. Turn on some music or something folks. Owner (I assume ) made eye contact but no greeting. I felt like he was staring me down as I walk through the food line ordering my dinner. I am friendly person so I went ahead and let them know I would like to order a salad. The whole point system ordering is just weird, is this a weight watchers restaurant? I am not dieting I just like to healthy. The majority of the one point ingredients look dried out and gross. Anything but fresh! The things I would normally put on the salad, I avoided.... oranges, chicken, peas... By the time I was done ordering, I just wanted out of there. Homeboy was still staring at me. When I moved to Texas in august I didn't know where anything was so I used DoorDash a lot. I ordered from the big salad. It was amazing the first 4 or 5 times and then it all went downhill. NONE of my salads were coming with what they were supposed to. No bread was included (not that I ate it). On a cob salad there was no eggs, no bacon, and no avocado... ‍ The first time they said they didn't have their truck come and the second time they blamed door dash for not putting all the ingredients in yet on my end it clearly stated every single ingredient and on their ticket it read exactly what I ordered. I had to drive there for them to fix my salad. You would of thought they'd make a new one from scratch but nope. They piled on what didn't put on it. (Still didn't even add the eggs). I went in yesterday because I needed something healthy for lunch and the reviews looked good. It was noon and only one table was occupied. I should have know better! I still decided to give it a try but was disappointed in the selection of ingredients (less than Salata) and the quality. The veggies did not look fresh at all, the carrots looked like they'd been sitting out and my lettuce had brown spots. The protein wasn't any better either, it all looked like it it had been re-heated and sitting on the pan for at least a few hours. Needless to say, I skipped the protein. They do offer a good selection of dressings so one star for that but otherwise, it wasn't a good experience. Will probably not be coming back. read more

We have really been looking for a good fresh salad spot since this is something we really miss since moving here. We stopped in on a week night. Staff greeted us right away and answered all of our questions thoroughly. My husband and I ordered the same salad off of the menu and then made some modifications/added a few veggies which was all included in the price. The big salad is very big so I ordered the baby size and it was plenty of food for me. The salads come with soft fresh warm rolls which no one mentioned in their reviews! Everything was very fresh and tasted great. My daughter even liked my salad. She loved the rolls too and we asked if we could buy a few more which they kindly just gave us extra for her. I also tried a baby tuna salad sandwich. The bread on it was warm and slightly toasted while the veggies and tuna salad were all very fresh. So given the name , I thought the veggies would be unlimited. Usually places like this limit cheese and meat, understandably. This place counts croutons, raisins, carrots, etc as a "point". Meat is 3 points. So I just paid 1050 for a bag of chips and their smaller salad , she was nice enough to not count the croutons so I didn't go over my 5 limit. The salad is a good size, but it makes more sense to allow unlimited veggies in moderation , opposed to this point system that limits you. Probably won't return. This place is awesome. Super fresh ingredients and prepared quickly. The portions are well worth the price. The kitchen and prep area is kept super clean. The lady that was working was super friendly and helpful. She made our food quickly and cleaned up immediately after she made the food. The Big Salad catered a graduation party I was attending. Visiting from Seattle to see my nieces graduate. First of all, they thought of everything - napkins, plates, plastic ware, 3 different salad dressings, chips. Salad was a walnut, apple and chicken salad with generous portions of walnuts. A wide variety of sandwiches and wraps. Sandwiches had different kinds of bread - whole grain and seed roll, rustic Italian rolls, and of course sub-style white bread. And something I did not expect in TX! Vegetarian choices! I had a tuna sandwich, something I would not ordinarily order because there always seems to be too much mayo. But this was good tuna, with just enough mayo to hold it together. The cabrese sandwich was delicious (a vegetarian choice with smoke mozzarella, basil, tomato). My favorite (and many people at the party) was the turkey cranberry. This sandwich had the whole grain roll. I will definitely check out the cafe the next time I'm in TX, and would recommend The Big Salad for catering (and healthy food too!) read more
