Our waiter was excellent and gave solid recommendations. I ordered the blueberry margarita and it was sooo good--sweet, refreshing, and definitely a win. Our waiter suggested the smokehouse platter to share, and we added an order of truffle fries. Let me just say... those truffle fries were AMAZING. Thick-cut, crispy, and full of flavor--hands down the best thing on the table. The smokehouse platter was more than enough food for two people. The brisket sliders were tender and flavorful, the wings were great, the pickled peppers were a nice touch, and the ribs were finger-licking good. The only downside was the potato skins--they were just meh compared to everything else. Overall, great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. I would definitely go back, especially for a date night or casual dinner.

Still, it was good fries and the staff was very friendly.... many high schoolers doing a summer job so they are super nice. They have a rewards program running - once registered, $spent is $earned in points which can be redeemed later. Staff was friendly and seemed like some of them were high schoolers or sort of, doing summer jobs so they were extra courteous and cautious - it was very much appreciated The fresh pastries were inviting and they had a big menu of other eats too. For me Common Bond and their specialty small dessert cakes went hand in hand. And this bakery did keep up that reputation- they had some sumptuous looking mini cakes. Definitely worth a visit.

The day I visited, they had a party for about 30 senior citizens that were celebrating a birthday. Normally that many customers in a single group would make a restaurant pretty loud, but it was actually extremely quiet in the restaurant. Every good restaurant does something slightly different to set them apart. Here at dinner, they give you a dinner roll slathered in melted honey butter and rosemary. The roll itself seemed to be made from frozen dough, but the tasty butter made it edible. I ordered the chicken club and kept the fries as my side. As far as presentation, I'd give it a C. The fries are frozen breaded fries. The sandwich tasted better than it looked thankfully. Service was good throughout my time here. That said, this former bordello does have some downsides, which I need to mention: First, it is too loud -- nothing sound-absorbing in the place, and the jazz music recording was turned up the day we were there. This caused communication problems with the waiter, who misheard me, and I really couldn't hear what he was saying. This is not an intimate spot for deep conversations. Second, parking is a challenge. No parking lot. There are some spaces across the street along the railroad tracks, but not enough. I parked on the other side of the tracks and hiked over the rails, but that is a little dangerous. There are some $ 5-a-day parking lots up the road. Is the pork chop better than Perry's? I liked the mashed potatoes, and the meat was properly prepared for sure, but the seasoning was not exactly right for me -- I think they added cinnamon, though my wife thinks it was allspice, and a hint of sugar. An East Texas sort of flavor--I prefer Perry's. But a close second for sure.
