    Charcuterie boards on the table
    Vicki M.

I went here for a fancy office dinner after work on a week night with colleagues along with some top brass. So we had the private room with 3 round tables and a 4-course menu plus charcuterie platters on the table. We've driven by this place many times and didn't really know much about it until this visit and it's nice! It's a nice elegant restaurant, cool ambiance and food is great. I was still somewhat full from lunch so I had three of the 4 courses. I had the salad with apples, skipped the second course, got the salmon entree and then the seasonal fresh fruit for dessert. Everything was tasty. I tried the second course butternut squash ravioli that my colleague ordered and it was really nice too. Service was efficient although this was a private function dinner so can't say if it's the same in the restaurant. Overall a great experience and would love to return!

Came here for dinner, and I would say it was very a modern and lofty chic ambience. We were seated by the window and the service was very nice. The food is Contemporary cuisine. We started with tuna tartare, which was really delicious and we had side of wedge, potato, sweet potatoes serve with aïoli, which was delicious, and the blue cod was phenomenal! I like, but they use fresh ingredients. They added muscles in the purée. It was so flavorful !I had a sampling of beef tornedos and it was delicious and for desert I had the Matcha chocolate, which sounded interesting, because I actually like the flavors separately, but it was beautifully decorated in design. The prices were reasonable for what you're getting and the ambience is gorgeous. Definitely come back here again.

    Peach tartine

We were in Boston last month and local friends recommended we eat at The Catalyst! What an amazing meal! We started with a few delicious appetizers. Squash blossoms, peach tartine and some sort of peppers that were very flavorful. The entrees were large portions and beautifully presented! All were very tasty! We split a few desserts, and it was a perfect way to end the meal! Very pleased with the service too! Feels like a family atmosphere! I had a chance to come back for lunch a few days later and order the fish tacos! The fish was perfectly cooked! We will definitely come back the next time we are in Boston!

Catalyst is located in a cozy spot in Cambridge. The service was a bit slow, but the food was amazing! We were able to make reservation on the same day and it was packed for a weekday night. We got the focaccia to start, which was great -- super nice, flavorful, and soft. For our mains, we got a steak and pasta. The steak was juicy, which was delicious; however, the pasta was more on the doughy side (almost like gnocchi texture) which may be good or bad depending on how you like your pasta. I love that their pasta has two sizes so you can choose between a small or large size! Lastly, the desserts were delicious. The chocolate macaron was sweet and chocolatey while the passion fruit tart was tangy and a tad sour.

Delicious food on our anniversary. Staff gave us a complimentary flute of rosé and a dessert, excellent service and really delicious focaccia, pasta, and halibut.

I loved the tacos they were really good and just enough. The French fries were crispy just how I like them. I went for a lunch with all my colleagues from work. We had over 20 people and the service was amazing. Your team really did a wonderful job so great work taking care of such a large group. I also had the chocolate cake too but forgot to take a picture. Needless to say it was great too. If you are new in town give it a try.

Very disappointed this is the bird today and barely touched! Was has been cut was discarded.

Update - I meant what I said in my original post , I will compliment Catalyst on there prompt reply to my email to them regarding my disappointment . It was prompt and kind, and they did refund me for the bird and some of the sides I was unhappy with along with another kind gesture. It was very much appreciated .

Slow service. Overcooked meat. Overpriced. A real dud. Look elsewhere to the many fine restaurants in the area.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)

My mom was hungry so we opted to get a bowl of chowder to go and we put our name down at the restaurant next door who was UBER dog friendly and even gave my girl a dog bone when we checked in, and lots of pets. Anyways the clam chowder should be renamed to dill chowder because dang, why so much! And hardly any clam, mostly potatoes. Not a fan of the policy or the chowder, would not recommend

I ordered a draft beer from a large selection of drafts and bottle, cans options. It was Jack Abbey beer... pint came 3/4 full as left a large head on beer and better for establishment pours 12-14 oz in a 16 oz glass.. Beer was warm... bad demerit again Ordered steak tips which came with three large tips on a bed of mashed potatoes, spinach . It had some sour hot nasty pepper garnish.. I wanted roasted red or green peppers with the tips instead. Steak tips were just ok and needed a marinate or side of a dipping bbq sauce or mushroom sauce or anything. Spinach, mashed potatoes needed more butter or garlic flavoring... fresh tasting but bland. Needs more steak tips too for the price tag. It was a nice bar vibe for drinks. The chicken wing lollipops I saw for an appetizer looked tasty. I left hungry for more steak tips and wanted a charcoal char on my tips . I wanted my spinach on the side with a garlic oil next to sone grilled oil drizzled roasted peppers . I don't consider these some of Boston best but certainly not the worst .

You can tell they know what they're doing here, even the way they shuck it is nice and clean, no shell pieces or anything. But we already had like 3 dinners planned that night lol so this was more like a "stop by and eat as much oysters as possible" situation. Honestly I'm pretty sure the other food here is just as good, based on what I saw on other tables. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Boston.

(I'm certain the staff are aware that many of their diners express shock, once the price is disclosed...) Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll. It simply never would have occurred to me, that a place would ever charge that much....
