Had dinner at the Lexington the other night. Parking is limited but we got lucky! It's a gorgeous restaurant with decent seating. I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries, one of my friends got the same but with Brussel sprouts on the side while the other got Grilled Cheeseburger. Food was absolutely delicious, my favorite were the fries! Well seasoned and crispy. For drinks, the first drink was awful:( (it was a house cocktail, Iforgot the name but it had clarified milk). The hostess was really nice let me reorder. Second time I ordered Upscale Retail, that was also bad but not as bad as the first. Overall, I recommend the food but not the drinks. read more

I stopped into the Lexington to check out their rooftop bar and have a couple apps. I really loved it up there. Perfect rooftop spot for the summer. We had the onion dip with potato waffles, and I really loved it. The fried capers and the salmon roe were nice touches. We also tried their wings and loved it. They were crispy and saucy. My go to place after work, I'm obsessed with these steak frites. The sauce, the butter, omg. The menu changes quite frequently (such as this burrata salad, I've had a few variations of it) but I really hope these are year round. Drinks are standard but the vibes here are genuinely beautiful and peaceful- surprisingly not extremely crowded, at least not the times I've gone. Having tried the three restaurants in this complex, the order for me goes something like: 1. Beatrice 2. Gepetto 3. Lexington. The food was a little uneven but on the whole, quite satisfying and the service, particularly in the lead-up to Christmas, was stellar. Our waiter was wonderful. He recommended a great cocktail for me when I said I was looking for a spicy margarita but didn't see something like it on the menu. The drink was cinnamon syrup, pineapple miso, and a spicy tequila base. Delicious, way too drinkable. Would've been perfect for the summer months. We were maybe one of three tables that night but our waiter was awesome and thoroughly on top of things, and even plated my parents' to-share orders on separate plates. The Cobb was all right, portion size was smaller than if I had ordered the same thing at Beatrice downstairs. A side note: so the Cobb salad with chicken costs $16 at Lexington, while the same Cobb salad at Beatrice costs $14. Same for the chopped salad. Maybe the $2 accounts for sit-down service? In any event, I'd skip the Cobb salad next time at the Lexington and go for the prime burger, which was cooked the perfect requested temperature. Don't forget to order the flan! It was smoother and thicker than other iterations I've tried and almost had the texture of uber-whipped cheesecake. Parking: 2-hour street options right outside. I was meeting family for Saturday brunch in this new-to-me restaurant near the old Lechmere of my youth. I'm sure parking is normally an issue, but given the 22° temps outside, I snagged a free 2-hour spot on the street around the corner. When I checked in, I was informed of an HVAC issue and instead of upstairs seating, we'd be seated in the adjoining dining area of Geppetto's. The decor was on the art deco side and service was super attentive. There was always someone delivering food, clearing away empty dishes or checking back on us. There were several very interesting choices between the small plates and the mains. We each selected our entrees and shared some sides. The Belle of the Ball was the potato waffles with homemade onion dip--positively scrumptious! My niece proclaimed her side of scrambled eggs the best and creamiest ever eaten. My avocado toast with egg salad was much more substantial than I'd figured it would be as a small plate. So much so, I didn't need the side of crispy potatoes, which I would have preferred plain (no hot sauce or crema). My brother enjoyed the pulled pork hash with sunny side egg, though he'd have liked more pulled pork. A bit pricey overall (especially the cocktails) but the quality of food made me turn a blind eye. The restaurant also adds 5% as a kitchen-only service charge, which I have mixed feelings about. It's the owner /employer's obligation to pay a living wage to employees critical to their business. The consumer is paying heavily enough IMHO. But, I would come back at least a second time. read more

Delicious! We were satisfied with the environment, the lighting and the food was amazing. Fantastic menu, keep in mind these are large portion sizes. The onion dip with fried potato waffles were to die for. I'm restricted to Gluten free menu items and the waiter asked me about any limitations before I could even tell him. He then handed me a specialized menu made specifically with only their gluten free menu items. Additionally, they try to accommodate those who are celiac. They allowed an alteration to one of our Tom Collins drinks from ginger to vanilla. Very thankful for this. The waitstaff was very friendly it was just very confusing who was waiting on us as multiple waitstaff staff checked in and brought us food drinks and the check. We didn't feel as though we knew who was responsible for our table. Getting them to collect the check at the end to get us on our way was the most draining part of the dinner. Don't get me wrong we had an amazing time. We were just tired from a long day. Better desert menu items would be ideal! They did have one gluten free dessert which was flan. We did not get it. It was my first time at the Lexington, and it was very beautiful. Once you enter, they tell you to go upstairs to the tables. It was a pretty small space upstairs but very intimate and you can see outside. It wasn't tall enough to see the skyline but that place generally has lights lit up. Our waiter was very funny and helped us with our order. For food we go the: 1. Bacon wrapped scallops: 4/5 that was my favorite dish of the night. The scallop was perfectly cooked and the flavors blend well with the bacon. 2: French option soup cheese sandwich: 3/5 I didn't like that as much because there was a lot of cheese on the sandwich and the French onion soup was very light. However, my partner liked it a lot! 3: Beer battered first tacos: 3/5 the ingredients were very fresh. There was more fish than batter. The only thing missing was a nice sauce to blend all the flavors together. I'm surprised to see the average rating so low! I had a fantastic time at The Lexington. To start, the space is stunning. It felt like a special experience to dine in a well decorated, light flooded space. The service was super friendly. Ambiance It's located on the second floor, don't get it confused with the coffee cafe and pasta and wine bar on the second floor. There is a hostess that welcomes you which in my case she did but she was helping another party. Luckily there was a sign and followed it to go upstairs to the bar. Wow it was clean lots of space an outdoor deck for seating windows all around. Very impressive for the space. I decided on bar seating with my guest Service Sat at the bar and the bartender was very helpful. I enjoy cognacs and usually I get them neat. This time upon the suggestion of the bartender I got the millionaire 2 cocktail and it was perfect! Highly recommend! Food Tried the chicken sandwich which was good and a large size. This was my first time in this area, which has really grown... all new buildings. The view is very good and there's a deck which must rock in the good weather. There's a small menu and the chow I saw coming out looked very good. Next time I'll try the food. Right now, during the winter and with the Pandemic, its a good time to enjoy this place while it's a bit slow. Come and get to know the great bartenders. Apparently The Lexington hates my review so much they keep getting it taken down. This is a non-alcoholic Negroni. It costs $10, which is insane for basically sugary water. It's also very small and takes about 5 minutes to drink. They blame the price on the cost of the non-alcoholic spirit which you can buy 700ml of for $30, which can easily make 20 drinks so that's $1.50 per drink. This is pure profit taking and taking advantage of alcoholics like me. Additionally, their food is overpriced. I got two of these and an appetizer and it was $54. That's insane. I love the Lexington but it's simply not worth the price when there are so many other great options available. I can go to Mention, the most expensive restaurant in Boston, and get a better mocktail for the same price that's twice the size. read more

Such a cute and trendy spot in the up-and-coming Cambridge Crossing area! I stopped in on a weeknight for dinner with a friend and will be coming back for the beautiful space and cocktails alone. It's also really easily accessible from both the green and orange lines, which is always a plus. I sat at the bar and started with the Fiasco Deluxe cocktail and ended up ordering another because it was sooo yummy. Super fresh with well-balanced flavors and lovely presentation. For dinner, I went with the French Onion Dip Grilled cheese which was good, but not great. It's definitely a decadent choice, so all of the cheese and onions they stuffed inside made it a bit soggy before even dipping it into the yummy broth on the side. The prices here are also a bit high, and I get the vibe that you're paying for the chic atmosphere rather than the quality of the food. However, their bar program seems awesome and it's located right on top of some other great spots, so I'll definitely be back again - I might recommend sticking to drinks and apps here and turning elsewhere for a full meal, but I hope they prove me wrong next time! read more

Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's. The food is modern and innovative in a good way! I would recommend the French onion soup grill cheese, bacon and scallops, and flan! The location is next to a beautiful lit pond and the atmosphere is modern and fun. The staff were incredibly friendly. I would skip the beer battered fish tacos though; it was cooked well and the ingredients were fresh, but it was lacking a kick / sauce that brings it together. read more

Honestly pretty midranged flavors for the food and drinks. The service was very nice though. Roasted Cod - decent sized piece of cod, no seasoning on the fish itself, didn't particularly impress. The lobster bisque it was sitting in was also pretty basic flavors, definitely didn't scream lobster, that flavor was pretty much non-existant, had a good thickness though. The vegetables and shrimp in the dish has a bit of a fridge taste to them. Generally for something with so much potential, it really fell flat flavorwise. Liaison drink was very tasty, had a lovely smokeyness, only issue was that is wasn't a good pour, drank most of it on an empty stomach before the food arrived and felt nothing. Fries from the steak frite were very good. Carrot cake cheesecake - The cheesecake portion was a really good cheesecake, good flavor and texture. The carrot cake lacked flavor and was much spongier than I like, would have been much better with more carrot and spices. Really liked the cream topping and pearls. Geez. Not entirely sure what has happened with the Lexington but tonight my partner, friend, and I had a reservation for this evening. We showed up and we had a great chat with the person checking folks in and he directed us up the stairs to meet a staff member to take us to our table. When we got to the top there was no one around and it's a fairly narrow space so we just kind of hung out hoping someone would help us. The (I'm assuming host but I wouldn't know as he literally didn't say his name, hi, or even ask if we were the correct party) just grabbed menus and started walking past us so we followed behind. We took our seats and he silently handed us our menus and walked away. Our server was nice in the beginning. We ordered our food and it came out in a pretty quick turnaround. We were hoping to have a nice chill dinner where we could catch up with our friend. Unfortunately as soon as we finished our burgers the server kept asking to clear our plates despite only having had our food for a short bit. We checked around the restaurant, worried we were taking up a table for another reservation but there were at least 4-5 empty tables a some bar seating open. In the span of maybe 15 minutes our server and another staff member ask if they can clear our plates three times. We still had salad and brussel sprouts pretty full on the plate! If the table has a turnaround time, tell us. Something as simple as "We're coming up on the 60 minutes we allot for this table so we are going to start clearing plates." Instead on the fourth time of being asked I finally just handed over the plate as we decided we'd save room for dessert. I had told my friend how I raved about the flan. Instead of giving us the opportunity to even look at desserts our server just hands us our check. We all jokingly laugh at it because what a subtle way to tell us to get out! We did ask for the flan to go since we were just really uncomfortable staying past our welcome. When we got home and began to share our flan we did notice a broken piece of plastic stuck to the bottom. So disappointing. Long story short, let folks know if the tables have to be turned over even if the restaurant is half empty. Not sure we'll be back after this experience. read more

I had pretty high hopes given how good Puritan and Co is, but The Lexington feels like a watered down version of its predecessor. Four of us ordered 4 mains, 1 appetizer and a salad. Everything tasted fine, but there wasn't enough "wow" factor in any of the dishes to justify all of the portions feeling a bit small. (My boyfriend went home and immediately ate more food.) I know that inflation is making it hard for everyone nowadays, so this in itself isn't a dealbreaker. The thing that I can't get over is my Roasted Cod, which, according to the menu description, was supposed to come with scallops. After a few bites, I sadly realized that there were no scallops. There were, however, pieces of shrimp. I was disappointed because the scallops were a large reason why I ordered the dish. But I'm also realizing that it's actually pretty concerning -- someone should've noted the swap before serving it. My cousin is allergic to shrimp (but not scallops) -- what if he had been the one to order the dish? Whether it was a menu misprint or an unapproved substitution, it feels like a pretty big misstep. And although the service was very friendly, we agreed it felt a bit slow. The venue and ambiance were nice though. I could see it being a good spot for drinks, especially in the summer when the roof deck opens up All in all - I'm glad to have tried The Lexington, but I don't see myself going back. read more

We came here for our lunch break to be real there was nothing special about their brunch and lunch menus. Nothing really blew me away in terms of flavor profile. They had taken a while to take our order however after that the food was delivered fairly quickly. The thing that absolutely turned me off from the place was when it came time to pay for the bill. One of the servers ran our check and brought us the bill for us to include gratuity and stood there waiting for us to fill it out AND stayed beside the table watching and making us feel rushed out of the place. It was just plain rude to have picked it up immediately while we were still sitting to analyze how much we tipped in front of us. read more

I did say something and they insisted it was an 8oz pour, but I assure you, as a wino, I know my pours... they basically embarrassed me by bringing me an extra 1/2 ounce of wine in a separate glass. Then, I ordered an appetizer and two meals and the food came out but no appetizer and was never brought to us nor acknowledged. The grilled cheese could have been really good if the cheese itself wasn't cold and firm... how do you mess that up? Oh and it was $18 for bread and cheese with no side. Came here for the first time over the weekend. They had an event to introduce the neighborhood, and boy are we glad we came. Not only did we discover this cool neighborhood, but the food, drink, and staff at The Lexington. We did arrive before the event started. There was no one at the door to greet us, which can't be missed at this location because the Lexington is upstairs. Once we made our way up (on our own) we decided to grab some drinks and snacks at the bar. The drinks were absolutely delicious, and the bar has a great view of the park outside. We grabbed snacks and noticed the event on the deck was starting, so paid our bill and went to the deck. Everyone was wonderful to us! They offered us sample cocktails, and even some shucked oysters , which were delicious. We each had another wonderful cocktail and made our way through the neighborhood back to Boston (an easy walk, by the way). I have yet to try the entrees here, but so far we are impressed! There was a little confusion at first because four different servers were introduced to us as our server and were taking our orders. Not your typical American food joint although what they serve is your typical comfort foods- burgers, Mac n cheese, tacos, nachos. Everything is upscaled and finessed (I had to warn my 10 and 12yos that they use real cheese in the Mac n cheese, and not orange powder). Absolutely beautiful space in the new up and comin' Cambridge Crossing area by Lechmere. Tons of development happening so the views from the patio will definitely get better but I highly recommend coming here if the weather is nice and if you're got 1-6 people in your group looking for a quiet, relaxing outdoor dining experience. As for food, we ordered 5 dishes and most of them were way too salty. The dishes we ordered were: - Scallops entree: 5/5, this was the unanimous favorite and was the only one with the right amount of salt. The corn base is absolutely delicious and the fish comes w 5 scallops - Endive caesar: 4.5/5, this would have been a 5/5 had they added less salt. Some endive leaves had large patches of salt that overpowered the fresh flavor, but otherwise this dish was delicious - Salmon entree: 3/5, salmon was cook really nicely but the white base was SO salty. Like unbearable to eat - Mussels: 2/5, probably my least favorite dish. Lots of mussels but the soup didn't have much flavor (in my opinion) and was too salty. - Cavatelli entree: 3/5, I'm not sure if it was worth the price tag but it was ok. Very very generous with the cheese. Again, too salty Overall I recommend for the ambiance, but I definitely prefer the food at Cafe Beatrice (their sister coffee shop) over this! read more

Came with a large tour group. They had us preorder. Options were hamburger and regatoni. No descriptionsbat all. When we arrived, the food was ready and staff was friendly. That was the end of the good. Half of the burgers were raw and cold in the middle, the other half were over cooked. The pasta was no good at all. Everyone who ordered pasta threw it away. The restaurant was sooo cold it was hard to eat. I realize it is August, but the air condition was too much. There were 4 of us. We had the pate appetizer which was fantastic. For dinner we had the duck, the steak as part of the dine out Boston, a burger and a fish sandwich. The burger and steak were amazing. While the fish was delicious is was a very small piece which was only filled up 1/2 of the normal size bun it was served on. It was very disappointing. The duck was cold and over cooked. The Lexington is finally open!!! We've driven by so many times eagerly awaiting for this moment. Despite the less than ideal pandemic environment, The Lexington was absolutely ready to go with a beautifully decorated space and a stacked menu filled with drinks, apps, and delicious entrees. If you're looking for comfort food as it's getting cold in the city, you've got to come check it out! I tried both the Kornacki (kind of like a tiki drink) and the Bellhop (a spicy spritzer) -- very good with some complex flavors. We ordered the onion dip and baked stuffed clams off the Snacks portion of the menu. Unlike what I've seen at other restaurants, the "snacks" are pretty decent sized portions so we were well satisfied for an appetizer. I enjoyed both, would recommend either! For entrees, I ordered the wild mushroom cavatelli because who doesn't love a fall pasta? I was extremely satisfied with my meal. My friends ordered the short rib and the grilled salmon that I had to taste as well, and I have to say the short rib was really as good as it's described on the menu. The salmon was a little over cooked and a little overwhelming with all the flavors mixed with it, but if you're into a bold taste then this may be the dish for you. All in all, we had a great first experience and will certainly be back -- can't wait for the weather to be warmer so we can check out the patio! read more
