Well folks, I usually don't get a chance to write my review so quickly after a service but this couldn't wait! Looks like the hunt for a good nail salon continues! I am soooooo bummed to have to give this place such a low rating! Ive been here twice before and thought I had found "my nail salon" but tonight proved me wrong. My friend and I arrived at 5:45 (went straight from work) and asked if we could both get mani/pedis. There was a nice enough guy at the front desk who told us it would be a short wait if we wanted to get our nails done at the same time. We were totally good with this, and he was very nice. He directed us to seats, let us soak our feet, and even brought us a glass of wine. He even kept us company and told us he was the owner, had several different locations, he was making several improvements (like playing better music, serving bottled wine instead of boxed) and he even introduced us to his wife who had just walked in and was working on another client.
Everything was fine during the pedicure, we had a great chat with my nail tech. While we were getting our pedis, my friend asked about gel manicures, and specifically wanted to know if a full manicure (cuticles, massage, etc) were all included. My nail tech assured us that it was in fact included, and even convinced my friend to do the powder version of the gel as it doesn't require the UV light.
So on to the manicure we went. Manicure was ok...my foot massage was better than the hand massage and my nail tech also messed up the polish on one of my nails. She chose to put more nail polish on it to correct it, which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine! I politely asked if she could please take the nail polish on that nail completely off and re-paint. She was a little annoyed by this request, but went ahead and fixed it for me, while also mumbling "I could have just fixed by adding nail polish on top because I had a top coat on there." I chose to disregard this comment.
When my manicure was over, My nail tech asked me if I had a coupon, so I pulled up the website on my phone and showed her the coupons on there. She quickly responded by saying they don't accept those anymore and that the NEW owners have 10%, 20%, or 30% coupons. She ran to the back to ask the owner and promptly returned saying she could do 10%off. When I reminded her these coupons are on their site, she chose to tell me their website is under construction. While she was running my credit card, my friend showed me her nails. Although the actual nails looked decent, her cuticles were TERRIBLE! They actually never did the full cuticle, massage, etc as discussed! So I pointed this out, and instead of owning and correcting it, all of a sudden my nail tech had an attitude. She started "fixing it" by adding cuticle oil to my friends hands and buffing the cuticles a bit.
While this was happening, I asked to speak to one of the owners. The lady formerly known as "the owner's wife" walked up, I asked "you're the owner right?" And she says "OH NO, we're not the owners, we just help!" Whaaaaaat??? She did somehow manage to change our discount to 30%...interesting to say the least.
So just to recap, this place has new owners, the coupons on their website are no longer valid, and the customer service is disappointing! This 2.5 hour experience was way too shady for me and I just had to share with you guys before you walk into a similar disaster. read more
