I've been going to this salon for the past 6 years because the service is great! Ivanna is my go to because she can do anything from simple to conplex nail designs. They take time to do the mani/pedi. Place is clean and everyone is friendly. Make an appointment and you won't have any wait time. Definitely go here! read more

My first and last visit to this salon. My nails started popping off the next day from simple activities such as taking off a sticker on the lens of my glasses. Every day one or two would pop off and I would return for them to fix the situation. I did this four consecutive days. They didn't charge me for the repair, but nor did they offer a full refund for the bad set and my continual disruption in my day. On day five when two more popped off, I took all of them off with no soaking, just pulled them off with no problem. read more

Overpriced and horrible service. Went in for a mani/pedi and although the prep was intricate and they seemed to take care during the process, the actual nail polish application was horrendous. My 3 year old kid would probably do just as good a job. The polish they applied was clumpy and the cuticles were so messy, I had them reapply but the results were just as bad, on both the hands and feet. Do not recommend. read more

I came in today for dip nails. The girl at the counter had the personality of a wet mop. The nail tech was very slow and did not appear skilled. Oh and bonus, she drew blood from every nail bed. See pic. Double bonus, the color was not the same as the sample, it was at least three shades darker. Will NEVER be back and I do NOT recommend. The energy in this place was depressing too. I just want to add (12/29) the day after I got my nails done that my nails are very painful today. I might need bandaids they hurt so much. The nail tech really butchered me. read more

This place was alright, I just moved out of the city and there's a lot of better spots. I asked for chrome and they couldn't get the consistency the same on every nail. They offered to fix which I took them up on, and still left with dents in the nails and the shape of each nail a little different. I'm sure they're pretty good with simpler nail jobs. read more

I've been going to Venus for several years. Love their pedicures, great attention to detail, quality job and experience. I've tried other places but keep returning. While some reviews have called out high prices, I've found their pedicures to be equal or less cost than other similar salons I've been too. read more

I've been going to Venus Mails & Spa for about 10 years, and it's the only one I go to in the Dallas area. Like every spot, prices have gone up a but but the service is consistently good and the nail techs and staff are all so kind and professional. They treat you to refreshments while you are getting your service which elevates the experience. I always get wine! I love this place and I will continue to get my nails done here. read more

Got my nails done here just now, not only was the quality of the nail polish horrible, the colors were not good, and it took so long to dry. After 20 minutes of sitting there, waiting for it to dry, no one came back to approach me because I had already paid. I had to leave and my nails were still wet, so they got ruined because they put coat after coat while it was still wet. The staff was nice, so I gave them two stars but I will, never get a manicure or pedicure here again. Tomorrow I will go to my regular nail place, which has performance polish that dries in five minutes, if you're able to Google that you can find it. Totally worth the extra few dollars. read more

The place was the worst and expensive. My mom and I went in for dip and pedicures. Our nails were rough and uneven. The dip color ended up way lighter than the color I chose. The pedicure was ok but not worth $75. Our nails began chipping and breaking the very next day. We will not be back. read more

There are so many words to use about how angry I am. I have been getting dip manicures for 7 years now. I have NEVER had nails popping off in less than a week! One popped off yesterday, 2 today. I've fixed them myself for now, but I'll have to go for another full manicure 2 weeks before I normally need to. First of all, the young lady doing my nails did not fully remove my previous manicure. Every other salon removes every last bit. Second, I am fairly certain I was overcharged. I didn't get a receipt as I was tired after a long day. I got a dip color change and a basic pedicure. The total shouldn't have been more than $85 but I was charged over $90. Was I charged for dip removal? Shaping? I don't know because they were not very up front. I won't be going back. read more

I am not from around here and picked the closest place to where I was staying. I called and made an appointment but got there 20 minutes early. They were all smiles even though I was early. My mail tech was super sweet and nice, they got exactly what I wanted and hand did the hearts. I will definitely be using them again. It's clean and quick but great quality work. Nails DO NOT stay on bo matter what you do. In less than a week I had my pinky finger nail fall off so I went into get it fixed (4 days after my original appointment) they made me PAY. So here I am not not even a WEEK after my original appointment missing 5 nails now including the one I JUST got fixed on Monday. At any other salon my nails are on for 2 weeks MINIMUM not LESS THAN A WEEK. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

This was such a disappointment. Looks great but doesn't deliver. Went in for mani pedis and when getting the manicure the person barely did any massage when the manicure comes with 10 min and I specifically asked before choosing the manicure. When I told the manicurist she was very rude and arguing with the other girl about the time. Then the other girl was rude as well when she told me it was 10 minutes beforehand. Even after the complaint I only received about a 3 min massage. What a joke. The only reason I even gave 2 stars is because Rose my pedicurist was excellent. Will not be coming back here and don't recommend. read more

I love this place! This is a true family business run by the sweetest family and it's a joy to be in their store. They always do the best manicures and pedicures and they really value their customers. The place is always super clean, has awesome and well kept supplies, TONS of colors and options, and the prices are very fair. Decided to give Venus Nails as I am new to the area. Asked for their basic mani/pedi, was handed their menu with pricing; $55 for the Signature Mani/Pedi Combo, great. Picked out color-OPI Bubble Bath, which I have used for years. The technician took the half full bottle I selected, went to the back room and came out with the same bottle that she must have filled with something that was not OPI Bubble Bath which is a milky pink...this polish was a milky beige. When it was time to pay she quoted $60. I let her know their menu stated $55 and was told that the price is $60 and the other technician had given me a pre Covid menu...really?, that was almost 4 years ago. It is not about the $5, it is the principle. While the staff was friendly, the place was dirty and their polishes are old and crusty. Now I know why there was only one other customer in there. read more

When I say I am obsessed with my nails. Y'all have no idea. Ivanna did such an amazing job. I will definitely be going back to her from now on. Not only did she do my nails but she did my friends and she didn't rush through our nails. I have never gotten so many compliments about my nails. Anyways I definitely recommend going to this place. I loved this salon. I went one day and she did a super good job on my nails. They were the french set and with a 20% tip, i ended up paying around $75. Fast forward to today. I went in for a super simple holiday set and they looked awful. She didn't clean up my hands afterwards and they were super uneven. I ended up having to go to another salon to fix them. The lady at the other salon tried cleaning my skin up and there were tons of cuts around my cuticles that started to bleed. I would say Venus is hit or miss. There's a younger lady that I would recommend, but avoid everyone else. read more

I have been a customer for years, going every 2-3 weeks for a manicure and pedicure. My daughter was in town, and got a design done that she did not like but did not have time to fix. I called and they told me to come in and fix it, and ended up charging me 25$ without telling me anything about a cost. It is the price of a manicure. Then, I asked if I could have my nails cleaned and filed. They said they didn't have time for a full manicure, or change of polish but they would quickly make them look better. After about 30 seconds, the worker finished, and I was charged $10 for her "work". I still have gel on my nails from the last time I went, all she did was file them, which I could have done myself. They have lost a very long time customer, they show no loyalty and I am severely disappointed. I will be seeking a new nail salon, as I will never go back. read more

My friend and I made a reservation for manicures and were asked by the guy at the counter if we were ready for our pedicures. Not a big deal since there were available people, but definitely would be an issue if it were busier. It was a rainy day outside, but the door was propped open the entire time I was there, so it felt incredibly humid inside. Little things like this made me question their attention to detail. However, I really loved how beautiful this place was with the waterfall and stone. There was an overwhelming choice of colors that were difficult to sift through. There had to be hundreds of nail colors on popsicle stick shaped sticks. My friend was struggling to find a specific color, so one of the ladies brought out ANOTHER chain of nails on sticks. She picked out a similar color that she wanted, but was set what she originally had in mind. The nail lady brought out a bunch of similar options but said that it was hard to see the colors in the closet? I'm not really sure what kind of closet they meant or how they even keep track of so many colors. As for the actual service, I was satisfied with the way the final manicure looked. My cuticles received some much needed love aesthetically, but were cut a little too deep on one of the fingers. Not sure how long my pointer finger will be sore for :( Other downsides were that there was no cuticle oil and the massage lasted less than 30 seconds. read more

The technicians often seemed more focused on chatting with each other than paying attention to their clients. In one case, my cuticles were not trimmed properly, and as my nails grew out, the uneven work became very noticeable along the base of the nail. Most recently I had an uneven final coat. For a salon located on Legacy and charging premium prices, I would expect a much higher level of care and attention to detail. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been the opposite. The quality of service has not matched the cost, and I can no longer justify returning.

Some kind of follow-up would be nice to a customer who has spent money in your establishment for years.

My technician, Tia, started my appointment right on time. She was quiet but checked in with me to make sure she understood what I wanted. While the service itself wasn't bad, there wasn't anything that stood out. At other salons I've visited, the experience typically ends with small finishing touches--like applying lotion or a brief hand massage--but this service felt very basic. I still tipped Tia 20% because Honey worked me into the schedule during what would have been Tia's break, and I appreciated that accommodation. Unfortunately, once I got home and removed my contacts so I could see my nails more clearly, I noticed several details that became more apparent over the next few days. It appeared the polish wasn't properly sealed, and one nail had missing polish along the side before I ever left the salon. Since my nails were completely dry when I departed, I believe those issues should have been caught before the service was finished. I really like this place...I tend to stick to the same Plano salons because they do a decent job and are pretty popular but a friend recommended Venus to me when I asked where she went regularly. I ended up just getting a pedicure...one of the best pedicures I've ever had! It was a full hour with a wonderful leg massage and a friendly employee. They do give you the menu and offer a drink and all that but I haven't been to a salon that doesn't. There wasn't one other person in there the whole time I was there. It's a little hidden gem! Definitely try it out. EDIT: Since finding Venus in March 2012, I refuse to go anywhere else! I have turned every female in my family into a regular Venus customer...we love it so much! Wow! Their service is amazing, they're very busy, but man was it worth the wait! All the workers there are positive and kind and considerate. I was talking to them like old friends by the time I got out of there! The last time I was there I was in a rush to pick up my daughter and one of the nails technicians helped me to carefully put on my sandals so I wouldn't damage the polish. How sweet! Their color selection was highly diverse and seemingly endless! And do not get me started on those chairs! So comfortable! Definitely asking my husband for one for Christmas LOL! Worst salon I have ever been to. My friend and I went to have mani Pedi. Tw wait was extremely long and we had made appointments ahead of time. The owner overcharged us for services that we did not have and would not correct the bill. The staff is not licensed to do nails. We both had fingers bleeding for the incorrect cutting of our cuticles. This place needs to be shut down. She complains about the customers thinking we don't understand Vietnamese. They filed my nails down to nothing. My fingers were sore for days. Save your money. All I can say is RUN! I have been to this place more than once. Each time there was another disappointment. Only a couple of the employees are licensed. They tear up your nails. The owner Amy does not know how to treat a customer. They will not correct a bad manicure/pedicure and they charge more than anywhere in the area. Make sure to save your receipt. It seems there are two kinds of nail salons: those that make you feel genuinely welcomed the moment you walk in: offering a drink, trying to fit you in if they can, and making hospitality part of the experience, and those that are more appointment-driven and transactional. In my experience, while the work is good and dazzle dry may entice me to revisit, this salon falls into the latter category. TLDR: always book ahead.
