I really enjoyed the staff. The woman working on my hair is actually sweet too...but she did mess up. And she messed up pretty bad but didn't want to admit it. i honestly think it's because she had too many people booked and i was left waiting the majority of the time. I came in wanting a balayage. I explained to her how i struggled getting my hair back to blonde since I've moved out here. I explained how I've literally had to wear my hair in a bun for months just because i hated it... but I've finally gotten back to healthy, where it could now curl. So i felt like it was time to try and dye it again. I did my research and i was confident that this was the place to go. I showed her what i wanted and she explained to me that she could not achieve those results but can lighten it. She explained how she doesn't want to damage my hair by doing too much at once. That i would need to come in a few times to accomplish my goal. I was completely okay with this and continued with the service. I soon found myself waiting for quite some time while she worked on other people. That didn't bother me, I honestly didn't question her expertise b/c i had read all the reviews on here.... once she washed my hair and i stood in front of the mirror i just wanted to cry. I was speechless.....at that point i honestly gave up. My hair was completely ruined! Three different colors!!!!a bright yellow gross blonde, copper, brassy brown roots. It was just noooot what she said she was going to do. She even attempted to curl it and convince me that it wasn't noticeable and that when she curls it, it will look nice. I'm a very nice person and i always try to stay positive... so i let her... after a few minutes i had to stop her. I explained how i just hated it. That i really couldn't continue to wear my hair in a bun. But at this point there was no way of getting the results i wanted. She then agreed that she hated it as well. Then offered to make it red or copper. I absolutely hate reddish tones, copper... all that.i had even explained that earlier before she had worked on me. I then told her to just dye it one solid dark color. I figured there's just no way it can go wrong from there. But i was wrong. There were patches of brown... and my scalp was burned. I had scabs through out my scalp. (I didn't realize this until that night) I have NEVER experienced this ever! I was at this salon from 10-4:30pm...it was just terrible! When it was time to check out, she had explained to me that in Texas salons charge for their time and material but that she had talked to the owner and he agreed to just charge me for the balayage. I'm from California. When something like this happens, they either fix it or they don't charge u. But since I'm in Texas and like she said, things are done differently... i paid the $250 and i tipped. I honestly don't know why i tipped her but i did. I left paying $316....with my hair damaged, scalp burned, hair still needing to be colored and not being able to go back to blonde for a while.... You just have nooooo idea how terrible this day was. Just the day before i had lost my dog that i had for 12years... so when this happened i honestly had no energy to complain. I just wanted to leave and just cry. I went in to work the next day and every single person in the office noticed how damaged my hair was. I explained to them the story and they just couldn't believe what had happened and couldn't believe the fact that I had left the salon spending $300 on my hair. One of my coworkers who happens to be a lawyer was furious and called the salon on my behalf. She spoke with the manager who right away had gotten worked up. He told her that, this is what i had wanted and she told him that wasn't true and went on to explain how damaged my hair and scalp was and asked him if he had felt that it was fair how i was treated. He grew more upset and said he didn't want to talk to her and for her to email him. That whole week my scalp just continued to scab and peel. I had to wait to finally go get it colored one color and had to go buy some extensions to help give my hair some life. My advice to everyone is be aware of my experience and be aware of how the owner responded to this situation. How he had handled had really upset me the most. He didn't care at all of how badly damaged my hair and scalp was. Didn't even apologize! I'm not rude or confrontational...nor am i a difficult client. Today I visited serenity hair salon to get my highlights done. My stylist was Manush, she did an AMAZING job!! The whole time she kept checking in making sure that I was OK and liked the color. I had a very pleasant time here and will definitely be going back. I don't think I'll ever go to another hair salon again because the stylist here is amazing!! They were all very professional and treated me very kindly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! take a look at the photos for proof it looks absolutely stunning. Thank you Manush! UPDATE: Well, I gotta give Credit where credit is due, Manush once again out did herself. I'm genuinely very impressed with her work and in love with my hair!! I went back to Manush after she did such a phenomenal iob the last couple times and I asked for some thing a little bit different. She gave me these money piece purple highlights in the front and GORGEOUS partial blond highlights. I couldn't be happier, I don't think I will ever go to another salon again. wonderful customer service and everybody was so kind to me the whole time Manush made sure that I was enjoying my experience. SAMIN, the young beautiful lady is AWESOME! WOW!!! I can't say enough positive things about her job! If I could give her 10 stars I would!! She's very friendly, caring and professional. I usually don't write a review unless I have an amazing or terrible experience somewhere and I feel I should either recommend it to people or avoid them for going through that! And in this case, I had an excellent experience with Samin for an amazing haircut and full highlight. I have dark hair that had also been box dyed. The champagne blonde on a sexy bob haircut highlights I left with is SO pretty!!! I was really pleasantly surprised at how well the haircut and color turned out! That's exactly what I was hoping to get for years and I couldn't be happier!!!!! I have received so many compliments on my hair too! She is so knowledgeable and patient and explains everything clearly. I'm glad that I eventually found my favorite hairstylist (after trying at least a dozen of them) and I will definitely go back. Will 100% be back!! I got super lucky finding Berenice when I did! When I walked in, she instantly greeted me and made me feel at home. I wasn't for sure what color I wanted, but I told her I was wanting to go for a Balayage look, so she examined my hair color and gave me some great ideas that I loved. Right then, I instantly gained full trust in her with my hair. I finally decided to give her the decision on the color and look. Throughout the process, she always kept a fun and positive vibe. She definitely knows how to keep a girl talking, while at the same time of enjoying the pampering! After seeing the final results, I feel instantly in love!! The look was outstanding! I took my 93 year old mother in for a body perm cut and style on Saturday. Andree did her perm and was repeatedly told she didn't want any curls. She left it on an extra 5 minutes and was mentioning all the curls my mother had. Then Leah took over for the cut and style. My mother was trying to tell her what she wanted and she told her that she had cut her hair before(only once before actually months ago) and knew what she wanted. She now has a head full of curls, not shaped, and the hair on her neck is in bad need of trimming because Leah didn't do it. This Salon was at one time a very nice place but they apparently have fallen on hard times. I have always been the one who took my mother to get her hair done since 1986 and i must say that this job was the worst i have ever seen in all these years. I went to serenity recently as a new customer. I'm definitely going to be coming back because this place is phenomenal. The staff is very nice and my stylist Manush was the absolute best. I got a haircut and a blowout and I plan on coming back to get my hair colored by her. I read the reviews on Google and yelp and choose my stylist based off those reviews and I do not regret my decision at all!! In addition to this wonderful experience Manush recommended me hair shampoo and conditioner by Kerastase and my hair has never looked healthier. She definitely knows how to do her job and knows what she's talking about. I have oily hair but when I use this shampoo and conditioner my hair stays clean for about four days. When I walked into this salon, I met Ellie, who did wonders for my hair. My hair was dry, not conditioned properly from previous stylists. She gave me a better hair color, saved my hair from cutting it all off, and my damaged hair looks so amazing. Now, I get asked who did my hair, so I give out her business cards. She is absolutely amazing! You should get your hair done by her, she does the best color and highlight I have ever seen to date. Her hair cuts...she always cuts off the amount you want off and doesn't hack off all your hair. She is very respectful of your wishes as a customer. Ara is absolutely magical!!! First she did makeup services for me for a wedding I was attending. I got so many compliments on my makeup! I'm not used to getting my makeup done but she made the experience so wonderful, I can't wait for her to do it again for future events. I wasn't sure what dress I was going to be wearing so she did everything so it would match for the time of day it was and so my makeup would work for whatever I decided to wear. She truly is an artist!!! I also got facial service from Ara which was the best facial I have ever had. Seriously. She tailored the treatment to my specific skin and needs. When it comes to hair, I am probably the pickiest person in the world. All it takes is just the sound of a scissor or color brush and I freak out but thank god Gayla understands my hair better than I do. I love this salon it has a wonderful positive atmosphere with the kindest people you'll ever meet. I strongly believe that your hair defines your look or personality and I am so pleased I met Gayla twelve years ago! For the past several years that I have gone to her she knows what exactly to do with my hair to make me look and feel the best! Leah Sinno is awesome! When I first went to her, I was new to Dallas. I tried a few other salons and had experienced three bad haircuts in a row and a really bad highlight. My hair is hard to color... It always comes out brassy or red instead of blonde. But Leah got the color right on the first try. Now I'm blonde and not brassy. I was really scared but she was so patient with my anxious self and really earned my trust by listening carefully to my concerns and giving me the haircut and color I wanted. I recommended her to my sister and husband and they had the same great results. I would not trust anyone else to do my hair now. She knows just how to do stylish, easy to maintain haircuts... Angie is great! She really listens to me and does excellent on my color and highlights. It was hard for me to find someone who really took the time to understand what I wanted...I hated that in the past - other stylist err in bringing red tones in my highlights....she never has done that and the highlights and low lights she does are always exactly right! She also does the best blow dry in plano! I used to have to get bar tabs at the drybar but now that I found Angie I can get the best blow out! She also uses great products on you. I am really picky and she always finds the best stuff to use - and tells me exactly what shampoo and conditioner she will be using!
