I want to share my experience so others can make an informed decision before trusting this salon…read morewith their hair. My hair was severely damaged after receiving services from Stephanie. What I went in with and what I was left with were two completely different things, and the damage has required significant time, money, and effort to try to correct. What has been even more upsetting is seeing other people come forward with similar concerns about damage to their hair. I brought my concerns to the salon owner, Natalie, hoping she would take the situation seriously and work toward a reasonable resolution. Instead, in my experience, there has been a complete lack of accountability for what happened. I have felt dismissed rather than supported as a paying client whose hair was damaged by a service performed at her salon. I understand that not every service turns out perfectly, but there is a major difference between an imperfect result and significant hair damage. Mistakes can happen--the way a business responds afterward says a lot. I wish Natalie had acknowledged what happened, taken responsibility for the salon's role, and made a genuine effort to resolve the situation. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this salon to do their research, ask detailed questions about the health and integrity of their hair before allowing chemical services, and document their hair before and after their appointment. I would never want another person to experience the damage and frustration I have experienced.

They had an online "test" that you can take and they'll send you a list of stylist that matches your answers and personality type. Out of the 3 I got matched with I chose Jessica Maez. Jessica was very professional and very personable. She made me feel comfortable and at ease. And the best part was that she was really fast and my hair turned out great. The online booking can be a bit much and confusing, but still better than having to call in to make an appointment. What I find frustrating is the gratuity. The MIDDLE pre-calculated gratuity was 28%. Does it say that it's 28%? No. Usually the pre-calculated amounts are 15% on the left, 18% in the middle, and 20% on the right or something similar. I would even accept 18% / 20% / 22%, but 28% as the middle?! That's crazy.

Salon cancelled my appointment, then says they can't Venmo me back my $50 deposit as only the owner has the account. Directed to call salon to process a credit card refund. Don't we all love the risk of giving businesses our credit card details over the phone? All this effort to have zero services executed. What a joke. Stay away.

I was explicitly told I could either wait AT LEAST 30 MINUTES or reschedule -- which, in other words, means leave. There was no genuine effort to respect the fact that I arrived on time, made a clear effort to be there, and arranged childcare -- which comes at a cost. Let's be honest: would a simple "sorry" from me be enough if I showed up 30 minutes late? Would I be let off the hook if I canceled under 24 hours and just said "there was a miscommunication"? Absolutely not. So why does your business expect different standards when the inconvenience is on your side? Instead of taking ownership and offering a fair solution, your response comes off as defensive, dismissive, and frankly, childish. Saying that "nothing would've been enough for me" is a weak excuse and a clear attempt to deflect responsibility. What would have been enough? A sincere effort to fix the situation, not a passive apology. This whole experience -- and your response -- reflects poor management, a lack of customer care, and a complete failure in how to run a responsible business. INITIAL REVIEW: Unprofessional and Disrespectful Service! This salon charges clients 100% of the service fee if you're late or miss an appointment -- but when they're the ones causing the delay, they offer nothing in return. I had an appointment with Kaylin and arrived on time. At the front desk, I was told she was running over 30 minutes behind. No one contacted me beforehand. When I asked if someone else could take me, they said no one was available. I explained that this delay was costing me both time and money -- I had arranged and paid for a babysitter. Their only response was that there was a "miscommunication." No apology. No compensation. No effort to resolve the issue. I was simply told to either wait or leave. The staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. They held no accountability and showed no respect for my time. If the situation were reversed, I would've been charged in full. This one-sided treatment is unacceptable. Be cautious -- this place does not value clients, and they will not take responsibility when they're at fault.

In addition to Mia's excellent customer service, I overheard the stylist next to me speaking with her client about her services. I was beyond impressed that this stylist not only recommended the best service, not the most expensive. The client thought they needed extra services but in reality didn't. This stylist could have easily just charged her but she was honest. This shows me in addition to Mia's amazing service that Tangerine employs top notch employees. I went to Jacki for partial balayage - showed her pictures of the look I wanted and she agreed she could do that. The result was totally different from what I expected - what she gave me looked more like highlights than balayage. The color barely showed and when I told her it didn't look anything like the pictures I showed her, she started making excuses like my hair was fine and that I could make another appointment to get more color (and yes, I'll pay for the second session!). It's disappointing when hair stylists don't clearly communicate if a look is achievable or not and worse - they won't own up to their bad work! read more

I found Jacki on Groupon and looked up her portfolio on Yelp & Facebook. I was pleased with the photos she posted online and gave her a try! She is excellent with color and cut. I received many compliments! She did a great job on my sister-in-law's hair as well! Give her a try, you won't be disappointed! The salon is cute and located in downtown Plano. Yesterday was my second experience with Abby as my colorist, and I am simply bowled over by how…read moregood she is. I've been to many, many hair dressers, and have never encountered anyone with the excellent instincts that Abby displayed from the very start. Abby granted my wish-- making my very dark-brown, somewhat gray hair SCREAMING purple. Though we had to bleach first, I literally left with healthier hair than I came with. And though she could have charged me a LOT more to do my roots on my second visit, she recommended I wait (to keep my hair healthy) and found a deeper purple shade that I not only loved, but which blends perfectly with my roots. The thing with Abby is that she is not shy about telling you the truth. If she thinks you are about to make a mistake, she will tell you, whether it's picking a hair color that's wrong for your skin tone, a haircut that is unflattering, a process that is not healthy, etc. But this goes the other way too-- she comes up with amazing ideas for her clients that are artistic and creative. For example, I happened to mention that I've always wanted a pixie cut, but my last experience getting one was a disaster (i.e. the stylist didn't listen to me and did what she wanted anyway, which I ended up HATING). Abby got a mischievous glint in her eye and asked if I still wanted to do something like that. After she explained what she had in mind (a modified pixie that would frame my face and work with my natural curl), I was more than convinced. It came out even better than I imagined -- I get compliments on it from friends, family, acquaintances, total strangers, constantly! So, if you're looking for a stylist/colorist that will mindlessly do whatever you ask, take the fastest/easiest route, endlessly tries to shove product at you, and treats you like a number, then DON'T go to Abby. But if you want a talented, warm, hilarious, professional that will take the time to get to know you, understand your wants, needs and challenges, thoroughly explain everything that will happen (risks and benefits) and use every bit of her decades of experience to create a style that will blow your mind, then definitely GO TO ABBY! I promise, you won't regret it!
