Now, let's get to the meat of this review. My tech Delaney was fantastic! Her demeanor and attention to detail was exemplary. She met me at the counter, took me to the room and gave good instructions for disrobing and next steps. As she prepared for the service, she clarified what was desired. I do do appreciate her desire to meet my expectations. The honey wax the salon uses is quite nice. It is a quick setting wax that grasps the hair but not your skin. She was very attentive to the few stragglers that attempted to stay behind. Gold star for the OCD attention to this type of detail. I'm looking forward to using Delaney again soon. NOTE...If you are planning to use the first time wax discount, be prepared to provide proof of Texas residency. Quite a challenge for those new to the area or visiting. I asked if I could get my money back, but they refused. Good enough...they can keep the money. I would recommend that ANYONE who wishes to begin waxing here, that they move on elsewhere. These people aren't honest merchants.

She had me get undressed and I had nothing to cover myself for when she returned. I know she's going to see it, but the hallway doesn't have to! So she begins the prepping, sprays my crotch directly like she's washing a window, and dries me with paper towels, or sand paper? It felt the same. Next a pile of scented baby powder, great. I asked if it had talc because that's a big no no on my crotch. She had no idea, checked the bottle, no talc, but then asked what talc was. ‍ After every time she touched something she Didn't sanitize, she just seemed to change gloves or add a new one? It was odd, but whatever works I guess. Finally it came to the actual sugaring. She MICROWAVES the whole jar right next to me, several times, checking by tapping the inside of the jar to see if it's ready. The other place I have gone before, and will only go now, uses special warmers because sugar wax is basically food and will cook in a microwave. My esthetician let me know this was how ALL of the Sugaring NYC's do it that way. A national chain can't afford the proper equipment? No, they're just cheap and greedy. So the the hair removal starts, this was way extremely painful not at all like I'm used to. I had to stop her so I wouldn't be bruised. She did discount me since we didn't do the full service and I tipped her the same because it isn't her fault, it's the company who didn't give her the tools or training.

They actually care for your skin with all their treatments and the comfort wax truly minimizes the pain. For me, the 4 step skin process, the wax, and the bedside manner was definitely better than my experience at a competitor like Waxing the City and of course better than any other value or multipurpose salon. They also have really good hygiene procedures- masks, wax paper on the tables, using cotton pads to apply treatment for your skin, etc. Please come here instead of suffering at another place.

I got a Brazilian done with Jessie, the way she spread the wax felt like she was pulling the hairs slowly and painfully off my body. She applied so many strips one after the other on the same spots that it had a later effect of me having ingrown hairs all over and irritated skin. Not to mention I would think since she did so many takes over each spot that ALL of the hairs would be gone. To my disbelief hair is still there.
