I have never had a Brazilian before, but really wanted to try it, and didn't want to risk losing any of my skin in such a private place. Malak is very kind and helpful, and very efficient. She takes her time to makes sure all the hair is gone as quickly and as pain free as possible. Was it pain free? No! Parts of it was painful, but not as painful as I thought it would be. The sugar felt rather nice and really exfoliating on the skin. I also did the underarms, and I must say my armpits have never been this smooth! I will never shave my underarms again. The underarms were virtually pain free. I loved the Brazilian!! Its so clean and comfortable. If you have never had one, i highly recommend you at least try it once, and go with the sugar vs wax. I was introduced to sugaring about a year ago, and honestly it's been a game changer. Anyone who is tired of irritating stubble or has sensitive skin like me and is prone to breakouts from shaving, you really should give it a try. Sugaring is a hair removal technique that is 100% organic and wax free. There are no strips or weird chemicals; it's a paste made of only natural ingredients (sugar, lemon juice, honey, and water) that is formed into a sticky ball resembling play-do. They spread the paste onto the area, ripping it up as they go along to remove the hair. The entire process takes a total of around 10 minutes. Not only can you be footloose and carefree for 6 weeks afterwards, but when the hair does grow back it eventually starts coming in much thinner. I'm not going to sugarcoat (see what I did there?) and tell you that it's pain free, but if a wimp like me can tolerate it then I know you can too. Malak is great at making you feel comfortable and keeps her prices fair. My friend recently had to go in earlier than her normal return appointment for a touch up before vacation, and was only charged $15. Normally I pay $54 every 6 weeks. Her studio is no frills or fuss, but is very clean and she makes conversation with you while she works so that before you know it you're done. Booking an appointment online is best, and when it goes through you will be emailed a confirmation. **Note- you will need to enter your credit card info to hold your spot, however you don't get charged until your appointment unless you are a no show**. It always takes guts to do any type of hair removal one of my biggest fears about moving to a new state was finding a new wax place. Well after reading up on sugaring I decided to just make a huge change and also change hair removal technic to sugaring. I have been seeing Malak since August of '17. She's super easy to talk to which in my opinion is 75% of the process. You really need a distraction when your hair is being pulled out of your skin. Fast forward to now, I'm 18 weeks pregnant and she's been super understanding of my reduce pain tolerance. She's been really patient and works really fast. In a good way of course! I do a Brazilian, face and underarms and I am out in 30 minutes. I have to say finding her on my first try was a blessing. She also has an online booking system which makes things way easier. I have tried hard wax and sugaring before but was not completely satisfied with my last wax tech so decided to try Malak out based on all the 5-star reviews. Her studio was very easy to find, super cute and clean. Malak is very sweet and down-to-earth and made me feel very comfortable. She was very quick but efficient as well. Malak is seriously the coolest person ever. It was my first time sugaring so my hair was very thick and I'm not going to lie- it hurt. But it only took like 15 minutes for an entire Brazilian. so that was really nice and Malak talked to me like I was her best friend the entire time which made it easier! I will definitely do this instead of waxing from now on as it has been more than a month and BARELY any hair has grown back and I never got a single ingrown hair. it's really up to you if you'd rather have 15 minutes of more-than-moderate pain sugaring or 30-45 minutes of moderate pain during waxing. I loved my sugaring experience as it was so easy and quick. And post-sugaring my experience was literally flawless.
