We loved our table with the most beautiful view of the ocean on a breezy day. Little birds of different types strolled around keeping us company the whole time we ate. One had a bright yellow beak! Food: Ordered Fish and Chips. Not too spicy, just the right amount and not too salty, just the right amount. The fish was fresh and tasted good. The portions were enough, not too big and not too small. They also served pineapple coleslaw with food which I had never tried. The servers were all very nice and accommodating. After lunch we ordered our hot black teas and took in as much of the view as we could in case we will not be able to come back to this part of the world again. read more

We were lucky enough to stay in the villas right where this gem is located. Breakfast was awesome and then we had pupus with the most awesome view. Kaylene was incredible. Her service, attentiveness and humor made it a night to remember. read more

I found this spot by accident on my morning walk on the broadway. Small spot, great breakfast, great service.

As you walk in you are greeted by a very kindly hostess wearing a Hawaiian dress. We were immediately seated on the patio with amazing scenery. Our server was quick to greet us and take our order. Everything was amazing. 8 days in Maui and crazy enough this was our best meal. The catch of the day was Monchong, and it was excellent. The macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi was also amazing. The drinks were perfect. The next time we visit we may eat here every night. read more

This places is absolutely amazing, we came for breakfast and the food was so fresh. The Paradise pancakes (Mac nut pancakes) were fresh and very large. Don't expect the waitresses to rush over to you when you get seated. It took about 5 minutes before we even got our water. When you do order, order your drinks and food at the same time. When it's busy, as always, things take time. The eggs Benedict are a favorite. read more

We decided to go to castaway cafe on a whim as we were up early and it was opening soon. There was already a huge line when we got there and they hit capacity right when they got to us. It was a 35-45 minute wait so we sat in their bar area outside and had some drinks. We were seated quicker than that timeframe and had a prime location outside with the most amazing view. I did not like the Bloody Mary I got - it tasted pretty Much just like horseradish. The loco moco I had was also disappointing with mushy rice and under seasoned meat - I had to add salt and pepper. My partners meal was also lackluster. Come for the views for sure, but I would not order what I had again. read more

I ordered my favorite drink, piña colada and of course, the classic loco moco. Verdict? Delicious! My fiancé ordered the short rib loco moco, which was also boneless..he fell in love and wanted to come back a second time. However the second time we visited, which was a Sunday, it was an hour wait for two people at 8:30 AM & they don't do reservations. We had a flight to make so didn't bother waiting. I've read that people fall in line before the restaurant opens...guess it's true lol. But luckily we got to try it the first time and only had to wait 15-20 mins, which was on a Wednesday at 9AM. So I guess weekdays are better than the weekends. Anyway the next time we visit in May, I'll be ordering that short rib loco moco! read more

Love this place! Very kind service, Rico was very friendly and made a great experience. The food was amazing as well. The fish tacos were juicy and the beef was packed with flavor. I would also recommend getting a lava flow, I'm not sure what they use but they are delicious. A little pricey, but the views and kind service makes it worth it! read more

This place really is a hidden gem. We drove here this time instead of walking, and boy was it hard to find. We couldn't figure out where to park and drove around a bit until we found only 2 parking spots with signs for castaway cafe. We got there a little late for breakfast so we had to order lunch. Calamari and nachos were good but the chips tasted a little stale. Decided to get the chocolate pie dessert and it was huge! Really good though and we'll be back. read more

Great restaurant right on the beach. Getting a table inside can take a while but they have a big patio with self-seating where you can order food to go and carry it out to. The restaurant has shuffleboard outside and is right on the sand. Food was very good and moderately priced but the atmosphere and location are what makes this a 5-star restaurant. There's free parking but it can be hard to come by and you have to walk up the beach boardwalk a little ways. read more
