Came here for lunch one afternoon during a work trip and overall enjoyed it. I'm somewhere between 3.5 and 4 here - the food was pretty top notch (salsas and chips were really good, main entrees were pretty good but sat waiting to come to us where we saw them for at least 6-8 minutes before they hit the table. The dessert pushed it over the edge; the churros were off the chain! The inside and outside areas looked cool and was very clean wherever I looked or observed. Will be back, not sure if it was just because we came in at open time or if staffing that day was a challenge (not judging that, i get it). read more

Chips & Salsa to go!! Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and was elated to know they offer to go options as well as outdoor dining which was well lit and heated. Homemade tortilla chips accompanied with fresh made salsa and guacamole. The guacamole was the BEST I've ever had! You could definitely taste the quality of the ingredients. read more

Rain or shine (let's be honest, mostly rain), through the chaos of the unexpected, the staff at Casco continuously provide excellent service, delicious food-rajas poblanos, if I'm force-picking one meal-and alchemize cocktails that you might just sell your mother for. Don't judge; it's pricey out here. Beyond the ubiquitous friendliness, creativity, and skill of everyone behind the bar, back of house, and on the floor, what keeps me coming back is twofold: a decided lack of pretension and anticipation of needs. Theirs is a level of service that I've come to appreciate over the last year more than a review can convey. As a lifelong service professional, this place is exactly where I kick my feet up at the end of even the worst day because I trust Sage and T to remind my tastebuds and ears why I'm grateful to be here. read more

I suppose this place is exactly as good as you would expect for a Mexican restaurant in the shadows of the Amazon spheres. I tried some basic starters, and they were absolutely offensive. The prices further underscored this offense. On the plus side, the margaritas and service were good. I would go back only for drinks, and only if invited by someone else. There are plenty of other places with good margaritas in town and passable nachos. read more

Not sure why this place has only 3 stars -- I think it's a really nice Mexican restaurant near the Amazon Spheres. I've been here quite a few times and the service has always been great and parking has been super easy each time (which is not something I can always say for downtown Seattle...) 10/10 would recommend the churros, which are served super hot and come with a caramel condensed milk sauce that is amazing. Would also highly recommend their warm queso dip, with their house-made nachos chips (also super delicious). Great margaritas, plantain empanadas, and beef quesadillas. (I would, however, pass on the chicken enchiladas...kind of salty and was not a fan of the dark chocolate sauce?). Anyways, overall, good experiences each time I come here, definitely give this place a shot when you get a chance. :) read more

I've been to Casco Antiguo in Pioneer Square a few times, so I was excited to try this new, larger location in South Lake Union. I ordered the Cook's Scramble (scrambled eggs, chorizo, roasted potatoes, peppers, chili sauce, queso fresco, crema, and cilantro). I thought everything tasted good and it was presented in a cute dish. My husband ordered the Pollo Y Suiza (chili and tomato marinated shredded chicken with tomatillo and poblano suiza sauce) enchiladas and he enjoyed his food as well. We were there on a Saturday at 11 AM and it was completely empty. If you need a place for brunch, it would be super easy to get a table here. :-) Our server was really nice and super knowledgeable about Mexican food, which was cool. Overall, I thought the food was a little pricy, but I did like this place. read more

Casco Antiguo sits next to the Amazon Spheres. Its location makes it a great place that attracts tourists and employees. DRINKS: We got a few rounds of the house margaritas. They were well made, and I appreciated the strong taste of lime. FOOD: The Flauntas de queso came with fried flour tortillas stuffed with cheese and a side of pico and cabbage. The taste was bland, and I thought the dish could benefit from a bit of heat. The pork carnitas tacos were okay because the braised pork was slightly dry. Although I was not thoroughly impressed, I am excited about its potential due to its location. Keep up the great work! read more

Around SLU and Denny Regrade, seems to be the only part of Seattle, that didn't face the slow death of COVID shutdowns. True, Amazon's policy of keeping their people safe (e.g. work from home/hybrid) meant that the 50,000+ folks don't come downtown anymore.. thus less customers the shops around here. Some places did manage to keep their doors somewhat open, and this great little place seems to have done so. Which is great, because the food here is solid, and the portions are just right. You are not going to find Gordito sized plates of food here.. like the aforementioned Legendary Seattle restaurant "Gorditos", but what you will find here are tasty and full flavored meals. What I enjoyed here is their Mole Enchiladas, which are filled with shredded chicken, with a red mole sauce. It's flavorful, it's solid, it's cooked well, it's seasoned just right.. I mean it's just right. This was one of the last restaurants that my work colleague and I ate at, before COVID stuck, and it's nice to know that the same good food from before, still exists. You should make this a good solid place for conversations, and friends... read more

If you're looking for a cheap Mexican meal, Casco Antiguo is a decent place to go. The Pollo Antiguo is a pretty good dish - it's not the best I've ever had, but it's not the worst either. The Mezcal Margherita was good, but didn't stand out. The service is average, and the place is pretty average overall. However, it's worth checking out if you're in the area and you're looking for a cheap meal. Drinks 1. Mezcal Margherita - 3/5 Meal 1. Casco Antiguo Enchilada - 3/5 read more

This place is disappointing even though it has a great location. They served us stale chips and the tortillas on my taco were tasting stale too. Feels like a Mexican menu with bad tortilla is not a great place to eat at. Even on drinks they only had a shitty scotch on the menu which my colleagues hated. Thankfully, I ordered wine. read more

Overprice place with an attitude. We came first and we were waiting for table outside. Then the guys came after few minutes and requested for table outside as well. Without asking us they put the guys at the same table with us that was rude because we were first. But worse thing they started serving them first. Waitress was really rude. I wanted to order tacos and I said I can't eat salsa. She said it's comes on the side. I said yes but I don't want to eat dry taco can it be replaced? She said for additional charge so I ended up ordering duck taquitos. Cocktail has soooo much ice for this price. By the way they charge for tortilla chips. Even in LA they bring guac salsa and chips for free. In Portland they do also for free. Here is $10 are you kidding me??? This is street food and you guys charging $10 for that. My duck taquitos were over deep fried and I didn't like it. I will never come to this place again even tho it's in a neighborhood because of so rude & unprofessional service. read more

This place has got really amazing drinks. I just tried their Rotator Passion fruit Margharita and it was strong and worth every cents. For the food had chips & Salsa with Guac, Flautas de Queso and Plantain Empanada. Salsa was really different like good different! It was relatively less chunky but had really good flavor. Flautas de Queso was a perfect appetizer with drink as it was crunchy as well as cheesy. Plantain Empanada was okay! I might not order again though as it felt like sweet potatoes fries. Additionally the server was really nice guy and was making sure we have food. The ambience is also nice at this place. Must Try: chips & Salsa with Guac, Flautas de Queso PS: Next time I will give their entrees a try too! read more

The service was extremely unprofessional. First, we ordered one taco each, but the waiter brought two for each of us. We didn't make a fuss and just accepted it. Then, when we ordered drinks, he got our order wrong for a second time. After that, he left, and we were served by another waiter for the rest of our visit. When it came time to pay, the original waiter seemed upset that we hadn't tipped him. He actually demanded a tip from both my friend and me, asking for our cards to charge it. I refused, explaining that he didn't deserve a tip. His service was subpar from the beginning, and tips should be earned, not expected or demanded. His behavior was incredibly unprofessional, and because of this, I won't be returning to this restaurant read more

Belated review from Oct 24, 2018, when my number got called up at the King County Courthouse for jury duty and I made my way into the city from the northern reaches of KingCo for the day. After a couple of hours of waiting around in the waiting room at the crack of the morning, I got excused and was free to take advantage of a beautiful sunny fall day in the city on my company paid jury duty day- it's rare for me to play tourist in Seattle. I took the Smith Tower self-guided tour I'd been hearing so much about and then looked for a nearby Yelp bookmarked spot to enjoy my solo lunch. Casco Antiguo (at its then Occidental Ave location in Pioneer Square) was just the cravings I seemed to have at the moment, and was literally around the corner, 500 feet away. I arrived about 12:45pm on a random Wednesday and was seated immediately for my party of 1. After perusing the menu and knowing it was just me with my smaller appetite, I decided to get a couple of smaller plates and indulged with a made-from-scratch Antiguo house marg ($10) for my day of hooky. FOOD: Yum! * Taquitos ($11)- shredded duck carnitas with mango salsa, crema, queso fresco + cilantro. * Pulpo Tacos ($10, two on handmade corn tortillas)- baby octopus, chorizo + chili-pickled onion with mojo salsa on the side. * Churros ($7)- need I say more? Fried food was hot, crispy, and fresh. Tacos tasty and handmade tortillas the perfect texture. Excellent all around- glad to see this business has survived the nearly two years in a pandemic world with their new location (unsure when they expanded to the SLU location and then subsequently shuttered Occidental). read more

I don't know if it's because they're new or they just don't care: worst service I have had in Seattle so far. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and didn't seem well trained. We got our food but we didn't get any utensils. When we finally got utensils, I ended up getting an unwashed knife (see picture). I ordered the pollo enchilada with mole. Unfortunately I could only eat 25% of it: the sauce was decent but the tortilla was hard and basically inedible. None of the other people at my table liked their dishes either. I am disappointed that this didn't turn out great. I was looking forward to having a great new restaurant in this neighborhood but sadly we don't ! :( read more

My coworkers and I like to come here for HH because of how delicious their food and drinks are but the last time we went the service was not the greatest. We had to flag our waitress down multiples times wether it was for water, drinks, to get our order in and for our check. She didn't check in with us if we needed anything. Food and drinks are good, but the service could be better. read more

Pretty disappointing experience at Casco Antiguo for dinner last night. This place had been on my list forever because the outdoor ambience and location seemed awesome, so I'm frustrated it was such a let down! The good - the margaritas were good. Unfortunately, we only got 1 round as they're pricey. The size is inconsistent (some are larger portions than others for the same price...). Next, the chips and queso blanco were excellent. Fresh chips and really creamy queso, honestly contributing to both stars I'm giving this restaurant. The bad - I say this for every Mexican restaurant I go to here, but the no complimentary chips and salsa is always a killer. Chips and salsa make the Mexican food experience! Next, the vegetarian options are so limited (it's basically the same thing in taco form or enchilada form). The portions were so small, there was no spice contributing to a bland taste, and food is super expensive. I won't be back for a full meal. Maybe Happy Hour! read more

A+++, came here for some dinner after a hot tub boat, Pepe took great care of us, they sat us quickly, my camaron tacos and top shelf marg were fantastic, unpretentious vibe, loved it, will return. Lowkey the food was good, it was just the meat like me personally I think the meat was a little too thick if you know what I mean, I ordered the tacos con carne asada overall they were good I just wish the meat wouldn't have been so thick but anyways, the day that I went the owner of the restaurant or I think it was the manager idk he mentioned being the owner but back to the point, the restaurant owner had served us and sat us in an area to sit he was a cool and a nice guy and the service was good he made sure that we had everything we needed Would I come again? depends really if I go back to Seattle and If I feel like eating Mexican food, BUT GOOD LORD the portion of food they give you is big so be prepared to eat a lot, I don't eat a lot so I had to suck it up and finish the whole plate and take the rest home, the prices were ok I guess a little over my budget but it's something but overall 6.7/10 would recommend if your just walking around Seattle and exploring I guess (AND IF YOU LIKE MEXICAN FOOD) but if your not a fan of big portions of food then go at your own risk AND I HAVE A COMPLAINT WHERE I SAT DOWN THE TABLE WAS STICKY FOR SOME REASON I DIDNT KNOW WHY read more

Im going to give this place 3 stars. This is why because the service people were good nice and very professional. They have a good guacamole and salsa for the chips that you keep eating them and realize man should of not ate to much cause I still had my order to have. I was walking around the are with my boyfriend and we passed by the entrance of the place which seemed nice. We weren't even hungry but decided to go in for a drink. Food was good but not amazing. I liked my pork enchiladas, they were super filling! The name of this restaurant suggest downtown Madrid or the city center of any Spanish town. However, the restaurant is Mexican. In Seattle. I guess we could not find better and closer (and coming from San Diego I am super spoiled:). The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very close to the Amazon Spheres, so many employees go there for lunch. There is a lot of outside seating. We were treated super kindly on the service side, food was ok, nothing to dream about. I got a couple of fish tacos that did the work. Same for my colleagues. Just a convinient place close by that had empty tables. read more

First time tryout for thy tummy... Tis was bitter Sweet. Great vibe, location... It's basically North downtown. I reserved a table for two, didn't get our patio seating but service is their. The hostess and waitress were helpful but not Uber friendly - they worked their trebajo (job). Their is a good amount of seating indoor and outdoor patio. In addition, the patio has a view to the city life... Lots of people walking and, is planted across from the Amazon sphere. Great place if your into this kind of lifestyle/vibe. However, a bit too modern for a Mexican/spainard vibe I say. Suggestion to the manager: Consider transforming the patio or a part of the indoor to a salsa dance floor or have flaminco dancers with Mexican or Latin music to give the vibe more a feel to what is served.... Ok, now to the food and quality... I ordered the following: Ceviche, great eat to the eyes. A very modern/contemporary styling and was good! Tinga pollo tacos (chicken tacos), dinner very good! Two shredded chicken, wrapped in corn tortillas! Great and juicy/tender texture! Also, thank you that it was corn and, not just flour! Also, tried my wife's lengua tacos. The fact that had them is good awesome. The texture and taste was greatly well created! Both dishes plus the side of beans were very good! Not just the fast food kind of refried paste of a bean ;) Drinks: sangria and la passion. Ok.... If your a sangria person, this was very well done and not some premix juice. It was a good size and Excellent balance is wine/rum and juice. The la passion, I had asked for light simple (not too sweet) and it came out great! Although, to me it was a bit weak in terms of alcohol. Price: a bit of the pricey side, def. Can find great Mexican food elsewhere at a lower/reasonable price. Your paying for the: location's vibe and presentation here. Parking: Don't expect on site parking where it sits - it's downtown/SLU... Metered curb parking or at a nearby paid parking lot + some walking. Overall, a nice experience and modern Jewel. However, not your mom and pop Mexican place. I would suggest trying! read more

Came here for a work team outing, didn't search anything about this place prior to coming but did see it had 3 stars in Yelp and I agree. The place is welcoming and cute... the seats are incredibly uncomfortable just a flat wooden chair and benches. My butt was numb after just sitting for a quick lunch. The food was bland. The salsa for the chips wasn't spicy and didn't really taste like anything really? The part I enjoyed the most was the guac to be honest. The camarones tacos were bigger than I expected and it came with 5 shrimp! The chipotle cream and shrimp were really bland. I don't know what it was missing but I dumped so much salsa and salt on them it didn't really make them better. It was OK food overall and my manager paid for it so meh. read more

A great place to meet in Seattle. "Meet me at the Spheres" is fine, but what about Lunch/Dinner? Casco Antiguo is where you want to duck into. The drinks are tasty - but honestly it's all about the food. Generous, tasty - and the Corn Mash side dish makes it so I end up eating corn in 3 different incarnations every time I go there. I liked the Casco Antiguo in Pioneer square but at this location, the food just doesn't taste great. I always get the enchiladas. The sauces on the enchiladas are not saucy or runny enough, making the enchilada super dry. The cheese sprinkled on top is dry as well! The mole sauce doesn't taste good at all, can't even taste the cocoa powder. The salsa verde they put on the green one also doesn't taste fresh. Everything taste like it came out of a jar. I thought this was a restaurant? The plantain empanada was good but it's $9 and it's tiny. For the price, they should give 2. Churros are good but they do not give you enough dulce de leche sauce to go with it! The drinks are good just like the Pioneer Square location. I will wait for that restaurant to open again.
