THE BEST MEAL!!! My two bestfriends came to visit me in Spain and I brought them here because of the great reviews I read and how good the food looked! We ended up ordering a bunch of different tapas that stuck out to us or that yelp recommended we try and we loved them all! My favorite was the burrata it was to die for!!!!! A must get!! 2nd favorite was the truffle risotto. It was rich in black truffle but sharing it among 3 others was the perfect amount for us! 3rd was the chicken skewers! They were a bit on the pricey side being they were €14 euros which was the most expensive dish we got but they were incredible. So flavorful and addicting. Could of ordered 5 more. Wish it was a little bigger in size for that price. Only came with 4 mini skewers. 4th was patatas bravas! My friends loved them! I loved them too but wish they were fried potatoes instead of like boiled. read more

The restaurant is a bit small, so definitely need to make a reservation. I saw them turn away a lot of people because the restaurant was fully booked. I understand why it's booked though! Their house made sangria was delicious, and we enjoyed their octopus salad, mini beef burger and truffle risotto. The service was ok but we had no problems really, other than needing to flag down the server. Would recommend coming with a couple friends as this is a tapas style place and you'd get to try more dishes! read more

Two Words: La Cucaracha __ Lolea has been my favorite purchase from USA for years, it was on my bucket list to go to Barcelona Casa Lolea. We made a reservation for our one year anniversary. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite stop of our trip. I saw 4 across the floor, and my husband saw 2 others during our *quick* drink and no longer celebration dinner. Absolutely one of the best meals we had in Barcelona!! Get reservations because there will be a wait, but if you can't this place is more than worth the wait time. Very cute restaurant with great service even better food. The risotto with Truffle is the stuff of dreams!! Perfectly creamy risotto with a big truffle punch. Batatas are top 5 I've ever tried and the tortilla is so creamy you won't want to share. Son ordered a mini burger and I can't tell you how great it tasted! We went back 3 times in a 10 day stay in BCN...literally every dish was great...and leave room for dessert the Torrija amazing!! read more

This was a great find in Barcelona! We had reservations as the restaurant is smaller. Tables are close together so we made friends with a Belgian couple next to us. It added to the entire experience! Casa Lolea has their own sangria line they sell (you can also find it in the states). I enjoyed a glass and thought it had great flavor! We mainly ordered an assortment of montaditos as a snack after a shopping trip. Each one was different in flavor and absolutely wonderful. My favorite was the one with brie. I'm sure you've seen Lolea's famous red/white polka dot sangria bottles. Make reservations on their website because the restaurant is very small and always busy. Menu is tapas style. Order the patatas bravas, octopus ceviche, truffle risotto, and of course the sangria. Definitely worth a visit if you have time, but I wouldn't say it is an absolute must. Great, fast service. We were pressed for time as we only had about an hour to eat prior to our Sagrada Familia reservation time slot and we asked if they would be able to get us in and out in that time frame and they were able to. I awoke from a food coma to bring you this message. Eat here. Just get here and eat as much as you can. My faves were the truffle risotto, all that dreams are made of and more! The octopus ceviche was tender and flavorful. Chorizo was out of this world. They make their own sangria and it is damn good. So much good food and so little time. Ventured here on the recommendation of two friends. I found the sangria just okay. I got the classic, and it was almost watery or diluted in some way. Tried the risotto trufa negra and as some other reviewers noted, it was just too rich. I think there was also some confusion on my end because I never tasted that strong kick of truffle. It was rather a sort of diluted truffle paste on top instead of fresh truffle shavings. The risotto was drowning in cream and reminded me of rice pudding more or less. Also had the patatas bravas and they were also okay. Could be better on the meat eaters end. read more

Made reservations for our first night in Barcelona. Very cute table setting that had a small chalkboard with my name on it. Sangria (3/5): average, comes in a nice bottle though. Black Truffle Risotto (4/5): good but extremely rich, so may be best to share this. Tomato Bread (2/5): wasn't really a fan of the do it yourself style dish. Patatas Bravas (4/5): pretty good. The best tapas we had in Barcelona! We wanted to eat here one night, but they were completely booked. We made a reservation for the next day(at 5:30pm because that was the only time they had) online. The wait was worth it. The patatas bravas were the highlight of our meal. They melted in our mouths and were coated in a delicious tomato based cream sauce. The salmon tartar was also very good. It was served with a generous amount of bread and avocado. We also had the special of the day, which was a truffle risotto. It was incredibly creamy and rich. We had a white and red sangria as well. Both were refreshing and I loved the bubbly-ness of the drink. I wish I could go back to this place again, and I definitely will if I'm ever in the area. Exceptional food!! This restaurant was one of the best meals we had in Barcelona. If you don't try the risotto with black truffle you are making a huge mistake. The octopus ceviche was so tender and well done. My boyfriend and I were amazed by the patatas bravas as well and the Iberian ham was delicious! The steak tartar was good but maybe not the best I had ever had (it was still delicious though). You also HAVE to get the sangria here! They make it in house and it's delicious. We got sangria#1 which is just the traditional sangria with cinnamon and red wine. It was so flavorful that we bought another bottle to take home with us to drink later at night (only 8 euros!!!!!!). It went really nicely with the meal and we were so glad that we found this place. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Barcelona. It was opened on a Sunday which was great because I know a lot of places tend to close on Sundays. Overall, a wonderful meal and great service. read more

We were in Barcelona for 10 days and tried alot of vermuth. This places house made Vermuth was the best. White vermuth in states is no good but I saw on YouTube that Spain makes there own dark Vermuth. In the Catalonia region it's supposed to be the best. So I tried it and I really liked it. They give you a small cup with an olive and a orange slice in it. So it was weird at first. But the olive was delicious and so was the vermuth. Basically a fruity wine with kind of a spiced cake type of flavor. They have a pretty good sangría too. They have different 4 kinds, we tried 3 and the second on the list was the best. The patatas bravas and Spanish tortilla were pretty good too. We came by 4 times while we were there. Like I said, I really liked that house made Vermuth. read more

This place is a mandatory visit when in Barcelona. We came across that place when walking out of our Yurbbann Passage hotel, googled the place, saw the good reviews and entered of course!!:) They have seating inside and always two tables outside. We visited them three times during our stay in Barcelona, always choosing outside seating with no reservation. We had visited plenty of other places of course but Casalolea gave us great food experience every time, we wanted to try more of their food too. You cannot try everything at once even if they are tapas :) The portions are very well sized even for small plates and they have additional daily menu in addition to their regular menu which is very nice. On top of that their wine menu is fantastic, very good prices, and the service is excellent. We always had some chat with our servers. I dont remember all the food we had but cannot say that anything was bland or not tasty, each dish was lively and delicious. Daily special Risotto with truffle cream was a blast. We loved their way of serving Patatas BRavas which is a must. We had great octopus, ceviche , tartare, beef carpacio was amazing. If you want great tapas a little bit away from crowdy center this is the place to go, no questions asked. read more

Casa Lolea is my wife and I's favorite tapas bar in Barcelona FOOD (5/5): Everything here was incredible. There are daily specials that depend on what is in season. They are known for their truffle Risotto and potatoes bravas. My personal favorite dishes include the octopus ceviche, tuna tartar, all of their individual bites (toast with various toppings), and their sangria. For two people, it is recommended to order around 4 tapas (the small bites count as 0.5). For red sangria, their #4 (Grenache based) is my favorite. SERVICE (5/5): Very friendly and prompt service. ATMOSPHERE (4.5/5): Inside seating only. It is best to get a reservation if possible. Expect to wait for a table if you come during prime hours. Overall, Casa Lolea is an excellent restaurant to check out during your time in Barcelona. read more

I made a reservation and then they cancelled on me the day of saying they were fully booked?! like a couple minutes before... they offered me another place too that is "owned " by the same people and same menu and then the new place did not have a similar menu.. super unprofessional especially after making a reservation and then apparently just did not have room for us anyway. This place is the cutest! I was able to make a reservation for 8:00 pm this evening, just 45 minutes in advance, and the staff had my name on a chalkboard attached to a (presumably empty) bottle of sangria holding my table when I walked in. My parents and I split 7 dishes and a glass of sangria. We had the patatas bravas, salmon pancakes, coca bread (a sort of DIY bread with tomatoes and garlic), acorn-fed Iberian ham, truffle risotto, octopus ceviche, and sea bass ceviche. Everything was great--the truffle risotto was especially delicious--and the glass of sangria was giant. I would have personally loved to have seen more hot seafood options, but it was such a wonderful dinner nonetheless. This spot is absolutely worth checking out if you're in the area! read more

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me. La Alcoba Azul is a spot we'll keep on our tapas go to list! You shouldn't hesitate to visit.

The interior is a bit on the smaller side, but it's quite bright with a lot of natural sunlight inside. For the food, I decided to get squid, codfish with honey allioli, and iberian ham montaditos. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me. If you just get one things when coming here, definitely make sure not to miss this dish. Highly recommend checking this place out for Spanish tapas, they represent the cuisine well!

The pork belly marinated in lime was tasty but the fresh Mackerel stole the show! The Truffled eggs with foie and mushrooms was finished table-side and was amazing. We missed that the Cuttlefish had squid ink-no matter, so light and exquisite-only complaint would be to have more cuttlefish. Service was engaged and friendly from start to finish. Tapeo reminds me of some of the regional restaurants where you want to try the entire menu at once cause it all looks so good. Tapeo is now on the list of "must stops" when in Barcelona!
