We were really surprised how much Casa Lolea exceeded our initial expectations! We each had a couple of their sangrias and these are an absolute must try when you are here! They prefect refreshing drink to end a day of soo much walking. Our table shared the truffle risotto, patatas bravas, mini beef burger and the carrot cake. The truffle risotto was excellent and worth every penny if you are a truffle fan. The potatoes here were some of my favorites in Barcelona! I would skip the burger and the carrot cake was perfection. Service is great, wait outside for a host to greet you. A wonderful spot for dinner and sangria! read more

Day 2 in Barcelona - We stumbled upon Casa Rafols by accident while looking for a church. At first, we were hesitant, but a couple walking out told us how much they loved the place and especially recommended the risotto. Luckily, there was an opening for one hour, so we grabbed it. We ordered the octopus ceviche, roast beef with Dijon mustard, coca bread with salmon, brie cheese, and for dessert, the chocolate ganache with olive oil toast. Every dish exceeded my expectations. The black truffle risotto turned out to be my daughter's favorite--she's a foodie who's eaten at many Michelin-starred restaurants, and she said it was the best risotto she's had in a long time. I agreed. Normally, I'm not a fan of risotto, but this one was so good I'd happily order a second. The chocolate ganache dessert was also outstanding--rich, unique, and absolutely delicious. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in Barcelona!!! We live in Michigan and visit Barcelona about once a year and this is the first restaurant we go to when we land and last restaurant we hit before we leave. The food/tapas are phenomenal and it lives rent free in our head. The cozyness and vibe is great but make sure you make a reservation well ahead of time because it is quite small and I've never been able to get a walk in reservation. The staff are nice too and they have an english menu but of course it helps if you know spanish! read more

Wonderfully intimate restaurant and a must-try when in the city. I recommend calling to reserve a table because the tables fill up fast. Here is how to have the best dining experience : 1. Sangria N°1 for the table. A refreshing blend of citrus and spices. 2. Tapas to share - Patatas Bravas or the Potato Tortilla, Coca bread with tomato, Salmon Blinis and the Ceviche 3. Small personal bites (or keep sharing which I always recommend) - Roast beef with Dijon, Cecina with goat cheese 4. Truffle Risotto. I could eat this all day long. If you have room, any of the desserts paired with an espresso is delightful. Every time I have dined here ( too many to count) I have been more than pleased with the service. The staff is very friendly and are happy to give menu recommendations. read more

We absolutely love Casa Lolea. We had a delightful evening with fantastic food. We were not surprised - it wasn't our first time here! Our gluten intolerant friend was so happy that he could have a beautiful GF bread roll. The service team are incredibly lovely and we will certainly be back again next time we visit Barcelona. Delicious food and charming atmosphere -- best enjoyed in small groups or as a couple. Patatas bravas was boiled which was very different from the traditional fried ones we've had while traveling Spain.. but I think I liked the traditional version better. The octopus ceviche was fresh and the risotto was good. read more

Ordered: Lolea Sangria (~€19) Burrata con Pesto Salad (~€13) 4 Mini Hamburguesa (~€6 each) Patatas Bravas (~€7) Tartar de Atun (~€16) Truffle Risotto (~€15) Ceviche de Pulpo (~€10) Coco Bread with Salmon (~€12) Aya's take: Very cute, cozy place! We had a reservation for a party of 6 and our table was ready when we arrived; they even had my name written which was super cute. We started with the Lolea Sangria which was fruity, tangy, and just a bit too sweet for me. Some of my favorite bites were the Tartar de Atun (tuna tartare) and Truffle Risotto which is an absolute must! The Burrata con Pesto Salad was very light and creamy, and great for sharing. Their Patatas Bravas is different than the traditional and I didn't really care for it honestly. I would've preferred them crispy. All in all, nice spot for dinner with friends. It's not that big so I definitely suggest making a reservation ahead of time. read more

Delicious food and wonderful sangria! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Barcelona!

Right after we arrived in Barcelona, Jamie W. and I couldn't wait to explore the labyrinth of historic alleys that define the old city. In the middle of the La Rivera neighborhood, we stumbled on this stylish tapas cafe covered in red polka dots and checkerboards, it appeared to be run by an all-female staff, and the inviting place was bustling in the early evening. The hostess asked us if we had a reservation to which we had to demur. However, she accommodated us by asking if we could finish our meal within an hour. No problem. Of course we had to start with sangria, and it turned out they make their own. We shared the 19€ bottle of Lolea Mediterranean Aperitif, and it managed to taste luscious without being too sweet (photo: https://yelp.to/kujXhf64Xj). We kept it simple beginning with the 4.10€ Gilda Alcachofa, a large skewer of marinated olives, artichoke, peppers, sun-dried tomato, and grilled pearl onion (photo: https://yelp.to/0V94it5Q8p). Nice starter. A daily special came next, the 9.90€ Ceviche de Pulpo, a nice size plate of sliced fresh octopus marinated in citrus and seasonings and sprinkled with chopped basil (photo: https://yelp.to/LS5YWhpCE3). The starches followed with the freshly made and perfectly round 15.20€ Potato 'Tortilla'. It had a nice grilled crust with a buttery interior. It came on the same cutting board as the 5.90€ Coca Bread with Tomato (photo: https://yelp.to/vCKe2s9hMj). Just love me some tomato bread. We ended our meal with the 10.90€ Pasta Del Dia, a creamy, cheesy ravioli with mushrooms and garlic (photo: https://yelp.to/Ejmq5tQw9e). Sated with ten minutes to spare. Delicioso! FOOD - 5 stars...masterfully executed tapas and not complicated AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...a festive, cozy spot with flair SERVICE - 5 stars...enthusiastic and polite TOTAL - 5 stars...delightful sangria and tasty tapas in a fun spot in La Rivera RELATED - Exploring Barcelona? My favorite dinner in Barcelona. We visited twice. I like the white sangria, tuna tartar, and roast beef sandwich. The sangria wasn't too sweet, and it didn't taste like there was a lot of alcohol in it (as someone who doesn't drink much, I liked the taste). You can easily make reservations online via Google. Friendly and efficient service. Each time we were there for just about an hour. read more

Our first night in Barcelona upon arriving around 10pm at our hotel this was within walking distance and were were starving. Glad we found this small restaurant tucked in the alley. It's seriously a gem with amazing abs friendly service. All the food was beyond amazing, we actually went back a second time the next night haha. Black truffle risotto is a MUST TRY. I've never had risotto before and this blew my mind. Along with the spinach gnocchi which was the pasta of the day. We also had the octopus ceviche! Yum! Second night we ordered sangria Lolea No 2, steak tartar, mini burgers, salmon blinis, and some special menu items. Also all delicious! Our server the first night was really nice and she spoke really good English so I assume she is from the US too. She gave us recommendations where to go around Barcelona. read more

Absolutely phenomenal! Found this from a YouTube video. Importantly, it is in a safe part of town, as much or Barcelona is quite sketchy, especially near the tourist areas. The food here and the service was amazing. Order the potatoes. Order the roast beef and the burger. Order the bread and tomato. Then finish with the ganache. Affordable and the best food in town. The directions are a little tricky, so find the little alley or ask from help from a shopkeeper. read more

The entire gastronomic experience was fabulous! Casa Lolea had wonderful Spanish tapas, lovely atmosphere, great service.

Absolutely loved this place! I had missed the opportunity to go here when I was there last summer and had on top of my list to try this visit. Boy, this was good! Definitely reservations are super helpful to have. So snag one! The service was so kind and fun! We had a bounty of food and all of it tasted sensational! The foie gras with onion jam and goat cheese/pepper jelly crostinis were best bites! So damn flavorful. Loved their riff on the bravas with buttery whole baby potatoes. And wow, don't sleep on the leek soup! Silky and flavors so well constructed. Great service from the jump and then they even got us into their sister speakeasy not too far away. Loved that gesture. Such a fun night! read more

My SIL and BIL have both dined here before & loved it so when the whole family planned a trip to Barcelona ofc we all had to come find out what this place was all about. It is a cute and quaint little spot that serves incredible food and drinks. We had the No.3 sangria and it's literally the tastiest!! It has white wine, apple and elderflower. YUM! For food we ordered: -Cecina de Leon & manchego cheese - cold cuts and Spanish cheese, what's not to like? The manchego in Spain definitely hits different than the ones imported into the US -Potato salad w tuna belly - incredible potato salad with chunks of egg, potatoes, and the little crispy crackers sealed the deal -salmon tartar w gucamole - excellent, fresh, well seasoned -bread with tomato - classic, the bread is crusty and amazing -roast beef - flavorful, so good my kids ordered another one -mini burger - don't remember much about this item -octopus ceviche - this was a special of the day and it was a bit fishy for my liking Overall, if we were to ever visit Barcelona again then we would definitely come back to dine here. The vibes are great and the food is wonderful. Friendly service and delicious food. read more

Food 8/10 A solid selection of tapas, and their white sangria was phenomenal, you have to order one of their sangrias if you are here!! The dishes were more salt than complexity, although I had a good time, I wouldn't say that the food was memorable. The truffle risotto was my favorite, highly recommend it. Otherwise, everything else was decent. Atmosphere 8/10 Definitely a very cute and vibey spot, although not very local. Pretty much all of the guests were American, so you know that it's somewhat of a tourist trap? I also saw that their sangrias were being sold at the duty-free shops at the airport, so that says something. Anyway, love the dim lighting and polka-dot theme. Service 8/10 Good service, took our orders and everything came out in a timely manner. read more

We made the reservation same day, and chose from the specials of the day. I noticed some individuals were able to just walk-in but they didn't receive prime seating! From the cute welcoming atmosphere, to the delicious food our dining experience was perfect. They greet you with a welcome sign. The place is rather small and quaint, but this doesn't deter from the mouth watering tapas and Sangria they offer. My two favorite from what we ordered was the Octopus ceviche, which melted in my mouth. The stuffed peppers were all the right combinations of flavors, there were also my husband's favorite. Don't get me started on the Sangria, it was so smooth, and not so sweet! The total for what you see was €44,00. There is no rush, and the environment is so soothing. I just wanted to sip, eat, and take it all in with my husband. Would recommend on your visit 10/10! read more

Great food, great service, great music, great ambience!!!! Everything is great here (as I just mentioned). But what I forgot to mention is the sangria. You could come here and just have that and be very happy (especially after a bottle). The patatas bravas are the best. The burrata, rocket, tomato, and pesto salad is phenomenal. Quaint little spot serving up delicious tapas in a friendly environment. We especially liked the Brie with apples, the tuna tartare, tomato bread, and the best patatas bravas we've ever had! First, the service was excellent. Did not have a reservation and the hostess fit us in for an hour bloc (more than enough time given the circumstances). Wait staff professional and attentive. Ambiance is cozy, not too many tables and a pleasant bustle without being loud. Without being trite the entire meal was delicious. Olives were a nice variety, octopus ceviche was a must try and the black truffle risotto is some of the best risotto I have ever had bar none. Good selection of wine and the sangria is also a high point, one of the best I've tasted in Barcelona. All in all, great experience and a perfect place to try new things at an amazing price point (their risotto could fetch 3-4x that price in Vegas, NYC or CHI). Highly recommend! read more

Casa Lolea is a small tapas spot in Barcelona, between Playa Catalina and the Arc de Triomphe. Highly recommend a reservation for dinner and weekends. We stopped in around 2pm on a Saturday. They had a sign in Spanish that told customers to wait outside for service. And we did. I know this is the local culture, but it's still bizarre to be completed ignored for quite some time before anyone acknowledges you're there. Someone finally came out after ~8 minutes of waiting (it is a glass front building), and told us to hold. She returned and noted we had to share a family style table if we wanted to be seated. And we agreed. Thankfully, our waitress was much friendlier. You'll find that every place has their own take on tapas. The Russian Salad was delicious. As was the burger and roast beef. The salmon blinis are delightful. Decent sangria, and they have a lot of options from white to rosé to red. We also enjoyed the Crema Catalan and the French Toast. Make that reservation. Takes card and cash. read more
