My friend suggested going to happy hour at this Brazilian restaurant where Tango and Malbec used to be. A woman was singing and playing music indoors. There's a huge salad bar and during happy hour, you can enjoy it for $19. For starters, we got the warm cheese bread. I ordered a $7 shrimp and avocado cocktail served with plaintain chips. The flavor was ok but I'm still giving them five stars because the waiters were very attentive. My friends also enjoyed their food from the happy hour menu including ceviche and chicken and waffles. My pineapple mojito was great and my friend enjoyed her caipirinha. Parking was free but as I was leaving around 7 p.m., valet parking was placing cones in the parking lot. I don't know if valet parking is based on tips or has a set fee. I'd love to go back to try the salad bar when I'm more hungry. read more

For a special event we went to Casa Do Brasil on a busy Saturday night. There was plenty of parking at this location and valet parking available. We had 8pm reservations and were quickly seated after checking in with the hostess. We ordered a few cocktails and dove into the salad bar which did not disappoint. My friend and I stopped in after a business dinner that left us still hungry. We were staying at a local hotel and this was walking distance. There was a live band setting up and we were surprised to see the bar full for a Wednesday night. We got empanadas and chocolate mousse cake and both were very good. 5 star service 5 star salad bar 4 star steaks. Excellent steaks but I'll explain the 4 star later... Overall 5 stars. Here's why: Best service I've seen at any restaurant. The waiters are always available and pass by every couple minutes. Doesn't matter if it's your main server, if you make eye contact they will check on you. Even the steak servers, bussers, managers and any employee make sure plates are always full or cleared and that you have everything you need. Salad bar is top notch. Pastas, charcuterie, veggies, fruits and salads, everything you could imagine. All fresh and there for the picking. Steaks... if you're in the mood for a certain cut and prepared to your specific liking go to your favorite steakhouse and order it the exact what you like. The steaks are made in bulk here so but the variety is amazing. And the steak servers know their steaks and are able to cut portions of steak to your specific preference. However it's not like ordering, let's say, an 8oz filet mignon cooked rare. But.. if they don't have your cut you can ask for something more well done or rare and they'll be back with another cut in a few minutes closer to your liking. This is why I gave a 4 star. But for variety and on demand steaks it's a 5 star. There's no waiting for anything here. I've been here about 10 times now and so consistent with service and quality of food. I was here till closing time once and this is my favorite part of the whole experience... near closing the entire staff (wait staff and kitchen) all got to help themselves to steaks and the salad bar. Amazing job of taking care of the employees and treating them well. Eating a 5 star meal at the end of a shift is a huge bonus for the wait staff. Great job and kudos to the upper management. All the staff are helpful, hard working and seem genuinely happy. I asked for the manager and when he showed up he had some gift cards to give me as he was expecting a complaint (as someone usually does when they request to speak to the manager) and after I commended him on the amazing job he still insisted I take the gift cards anyway which I gracefully declined. Okay guys! We have a new Brazilian hot spot right here in the galleria! Casa Do Brasil is located on sage rd where Tango and Malbec use to be. They do offer valet and service in addition to self parking. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting! They have amazing light fixtures throughout and the service was spectacular. Their salad bar has great options! I loved every item on my plate! Especially the spiced bacon which had a nice sweet kick to it. As for the meat! I tried just about every meat they had and my body would allow. My all time favorite was the sirloin, ribeye, ribs, and their house special. Another fan favorite were the wings. I was definitely in meat heaven! I'm surprised I had room for their key lime pie and AMAZING Tres Leches! They even have a private dining area that holds up to 40 people for events! I was on a business trip and stayed across the street at the Hyatt and on my final night, my colleagues and I thought we would treat ourselves. The customer service from the time you walk in to the time you leave is exceptional. We had the pleasure of having Igor as our attendant and he was very attentive. If you have not been to a steakhouse, here's how it works here: you are seated at a table and water of your choice is provided (I chose sparkling). You are then able to enjoy the "salad bar" as much as you like. I put that in quotes because there is much more than salad! When you are done with the salad bar, you will flip a disk on your table to show that you are ready for meat. You will then be served many different options until you flip the disk back over to signal that you want to stop. They will bring out meat options based on your preference; rare, medium, well. It was very disappointing after see the high rating. Based on the expectations, high cost $$$$$, quality of service and quality of food, we can give only one start. Most of the meat very fat, no taste, waiting a lot for picana, and too long for filet mignon (over 25 minutes) and only few pieces. The servers do not know much about meat, how to prepare, how to cut. Same way for other services. Salad bar was good but it was not the main reason to go there. Lot better Fogo d Chao, Chama Gauch and others. We just tried this place but no comeback. Our visitors from San Antonio were also very disappointed. read more

We had a larger group and were seated right away with our reservation. Attendants were very attentive. Glasses did not stay empty for long. The manager on duty was very friendly and professional. He checked on us at least three times during dinner to make sure everything was great, and even offered to take pictures of the group -which turned out great. The food was amazing. It's not all USDA Prime beef, I discovered. The cheaper cuts are prime but not filets or rib eye. I chose to skip the salad bar and all of the other things they bring to you to eat first and go for the meat. Many skewers came by but I explained I was waiting for filet mignon and lamb. That took a long time because they brought other cuts like top sirloin, bottom round which were less expensive. Finally I got the filet. I finally realized it tasted different because it was not prime beef. Sadly, the lamb chops were over cooked. You cannot fix overcooked lamb. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant flakes, no one peeling potatoes back there. They have gads of stuff that is not meat included. At lunch, the full production was $45. it was just OK, I don't think I will be back. There are better ones in Houston. Easy to park and the inside was nice. read more

We really liked the lobster bisque, smoked salmon, shrimp stroganoff, assorted cheeses and veggies. The meats were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The service was amazing! What an experience. Right across from our hotel. We stopped for appetizers before Nobu but our server Julio suggest we try the full service. We canceled Nobu and wasn't mad at all. The cheese bread was always delivered cold. The plantains were good, but the mashed potatoes' texture was off. Salad bar was alright, but there was only one soup option. The Picanha was great and I'd be shocked if it wasn't. The bacon-wrapped chicken was dry. The other meats were okay, nothing memorable. Service was a little slow for a Friday night, but I'll chalk it up to possibly being short-staffed cause you know, pandemic.
