Excellent meal! Everything was deliciously fresh and packed with flavor. The service was a little slow, but once things got going, it was good. Shoutout to Ashley for ensuring we were taken care of. Even the chef was on the floor directing patrons to their seats. And the dessert board?! To die for! Ask to see it, even if you're only contemplating it. Great experience, we plan to refer and return!

Service is great friendly food is great amount and flavorful ambience is great for party and friends day out and entertainment music the atmosphere.

My first time returning back to this place in a while. Met a friend for HRW. I see they moved locations from down the street off the freeway. The hostess told me they moved locations to this one 3 years ago. I also inquired on what happened to Ruggles on the Green. She states those turned in to Bella green (or Sweet Green). Parking- is valet only. No self park option. But maybe you could find something down the street or in a neighborhood? They have regular parking for $5, and VIP parking for $10. Still unclear on the difference of the two besides the $$. The decor was cute, nicely designed for an elevated look. It's divided between bar seating with natural sunlight. And the dinning area more moody and dim with chandeliers all over. Service - was amazing thanks to Jose! 5 stars on him. He anticipated our needs, was warm friendly and provided excellent service. Please give this man a raise! Food- First course was there tomatoe basil bisque. I love soup, and gobbled this down in minutes. I liked the blanched carrots as a topping of the soup. Was very tasty. My main entree was the Chilean Sea Bass with mixed veg. Came out hot hot hot and good. Last was the keto lemon cheesecake. I was pretty full from the soup and the sea bass. But somehow I rationalized that the cheesecake was too small of a piece to take home, so just decided to eat it there. I left stuffed! We stayed there late and they never rushed us out. Thank you Ruggles!

I came for HRW and, unfortunately, was not very impressed by the food. I will preface by saying that I did not come in knowing that the restaurant was a health-conscious establishment. I appreciated the numerous paleo and keto options available for individuals with dietary restrictions, as well as the extensive HRW menu. However, the healthy substitutes were very noticeable with certain dishes. I shared with a friend and we got the calamari and the paleo short rib taco to start. We got the tandoori pepper crusted grassfed filet mignon with garlic jalepeno chive butter and the fresh made pasta with sausage, chicken, and short rib for our mains. For dessert, we had the paleo lemon cheesecake and the tres leches. The calamari was solid. It was crispy and I liked how it came with 3 different sauces. My favorite was the creamy tartar- like sauce. (6.5/10) The paleo short rib taco was also tasty. Though I was weary about the tortilla substitute, the flavors of the fresh veggies and sauce with the short rib were very nice. My only wish was that the order came with more than one taco. (7/10) The filet mignon was also solid. The meat itself was tender; however, the portion was very small, which was quite noticeable, especially when served on such a large plate. The vegetables on the side also came in such a small portion and were just boiled, so nothing special. The mashed cauliflower had a weird aftertaste and was disappointing to me because I was expecting velvety mashed potatoes. (5.5/10) The pasta was okay. I liked how they included a lot of protein as promised by the name of the dish. However, I did not love the choice of angel hair pasta for this dish, and the tomato sauce was pretty basic. (5/10) The paleo lemon cheesecake was my preferred dessert out of the two. It had a great lemon flavor and was the right balance of sweet and tart. The only thing I didn't love was the coconut cream on top. I'd prefer a normal whipped cream. (6/10) The tres leches was okay. I thought the sponge cake was moist but not soaked in the milk like I'd expect for a tres leches. I was also confused about the sauces that they incorporated on the side of the dish. I didn't feel as though they enhanced the dessert at all. (5/10) Overall, the service was good and the valets were very kind. Parking is valet only, which is a $5 charge. The ambiance is really nice with the dim lighting and chandeliers to give it more of an upscale vibe. Unfortunately, despite the grand looks, the food did not wow me in the same way. Though it was not necessarily my cup of tea, I think it is a good option for those who have dietary restrictions and are looking for a nice place to have dinner.

DAMNNN. How have I not been here before? I've been cutting added sugar so this was perfect. So many paleo and keto options and the short rib biryani WAS INSANELY GOOD. One of the best dishes I've had at a restaurant ever. It was sweetened with dates and figs and the short rib was a very generous portion and perfectly tender. My mom's curry seafood ramen had an excellent flavor and was loaded with various proteins. The paleo lava cake was delicious as well and the coconut ice cream was the perfect touch- I can't believe it was paleo!! Definitely will be back soon to try the pizzas and pastas! Food came out very quickly as well!

The ample keto and Paleo menu options caught my attention when I came across Ruggles Black on the Houston Restaurant Week menu and I had to try them out. Upon arrival the valets were super polite and helpful. Walked inside and the hostess was also super sweet. She sat us at our table. Shortly after we were greeted by the very best server, Jose! From start to finish he was so warm, welcoming, calm, polite, helpful, friendly but not too chatty, great at anticipating our needs, knowledgeable about the menu. He was basically perfect and my ideal server. The food was delicious. For my first course I had their tomato basil soup. It was the perfect portion size, super flavorful and just the right temperature, warming me up in the slightly cool restaurant as I sat there in my sleeveless shirt and Bermuda length shorts. My second and main course was their incredible grilled chicken breast with avocado lime cilantro tequila butter. It came with a side of mashed cauliflower and mixed sauteed vegetables. The chicken breast was also a perfect portion, kinda big which is always a lovely surprise during restaurant week. It was so juicy, tender and had so much flavor. The lime cilantro tequila butter was amazing and perfectly complimented the chicken. I dragged some of my veggies and mashed cauliflower in the butter as well and it tasted so good on those too. The best part, the meal had no impact on my glucose at all. It remained in a perfectly healthy range. Well that's until I ate my third course, their delectible white chocolate bread pudding but that was to be expected. The pudding was a smaller portion size for HRW. It was warm and melted in my mouth along with the small ice cream scoop they placed on top. It also came with a strawberry mint garnish that I also gobbled down. All courses of my food were perfect Also the restaurant is beautiful inside. Although they light actual candles at each table and the wax started spilling onto our table during our meal. Pro tip: Stick with the $5 valet parking. There is zero difference between the $5 parking and the $10 VIP parking. I sprang for VIP, while my friend got the $5 parking and they actually parked her car a little closer than mine.

Heard a lot about this place so we were excited to be here. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Service was a bit lacking. We were there for lunch, the restaurant is not packed but our servers were definitely not visible when needed. We had a table for 12. When came to food , presentation was Ok but the food was not that great at all. Overall experience was not impressive. By the way, they only have valet parking at the restaurant and it costs $5 during lunch hours. I was told $10 at nite.

Made resy ahead of time and was able to get seated right away. Came during lunch and for their HRW 2025 menu. It is a very healthy restaurant (paleo, gluten free, vegetarian friendly). For HRW, got the Brussels Sprouts (pretty good balsamic flavoring and had some crisp), Chicken Parmesan (pretty average tasting) and the bread pudding (i was most disappointed that they added the strawberry syrup on top of the ice cream instead of on the side as optional). Not busy during lunch time on a friday. Restroom - clean Parking - $6 valet (card) and $5 valet (cash)

I had been here years ago ( in another location) and enjoyed it but maybe my palette has changed - back this time for a work trip and found it reminded me of wedding food! Lovely service throughout - began with a French75 that was too sweet and not cold enough then we all shared appetizers! They were okay but not fabulous- calamari which is not my favorite dish turned out to be the thing! Had Ahi as my main course - it was okay but the sweet potato slice on the dish was better. As we ended they brought one of those fake dessert trays you used to see at chain restaurants maybe 15 years ago! They had way too many offerings which was reflected in the quality - I got a tiramisu - or at least that was what they called it! It has zero coffee that I could taste and appeared to be a brownie base not ladyfingers and cool whip! Weird and bad! Did not eat it! Not bad, not good but not for me !

We had a really great experience at Ruggles Black. When we walked in, we did not realize how nice the atmosphere would be. It was a wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent and our waiter Lenard gave us all of the great suggestions. The goat cheese salad was phenomenal and was quite filling. The pepporoni pizza was solid but a little bit greasy for my preference. When you go, ask to see the dessert tray and get the Charlotes Web. It was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Note- There is valet at the restaurant for $5. I did not see any self park option.

The service and the food are exceptional. One of the few restaurants in houston that has such an expensive menu and still manages to make each dish skillfully. The dessert tray is just as versatile and it's made in house. If you want an enjoyable evening out with an upbeat and modern elegant vibe come here!

Dillon: Sun Tzu once said, "Never order a burger at a non-burger place". After not eating all day, i was really excited to finally have a great meal that i was looking forward to. I got the burger. It came with a fried egg and bacon which are my favorite burger toppings. If nothing else, most restaurants will get this right, it was not very good. I asked for medium rare but the meat was mealy, soggy, and undercooked. The egg was overcooked and cold. The service was pretty mid for such an upscale and expensive place, we were left alone for quite some time. The rating would be lower if not for the outstanding beef empanadas and the paleo chicken wings. Also, I'm glad they use such high quality ingredients and oils. They say hunger is the best spice, but I guess that wasn't on their ingredient list tonight. Aneena: As someone who's not very picky, the burger I was served wasnt the best. The meat wasn't cooked as well as l'd like and the fried egg was far too overcooked and cold. The best parts of my meal were the sweet potato fries that came as a side and the chicken wing appetizer. The venue was beautiful and the service was nice!

Ruggles Black has been on my list for a while. Went during lunch on a week day. It was prettt packed during lunch but after the rush it was empty. Parking is Vallet, it's pay what you want ( I suggest at least 5) Service is very good! Our waiter who I cannot for the life of me remember ( young tall white gentleman with blond hair ) very attentive . Helped me pick my food , didn't bother my friend and I , waters always filled. Just great service The ambiance is of course instagramable the spot is small but background is cute for a nice pic with your dinner and friends Calamari was solid - comes with 3 sauces . I only like 1 out of the 3 sauces but your taste may be different Lamb burger - super filling and loved all the toppings I legit was so full. Burger came with sweet potatoes fries - fried and season perfectly Great overall meal

My favorite was definitely the Kobe Beef Skewers - I could have just eaten those all night long! Deliciousness in every bite. I'm not a fan of raw fish, so while my family enjoyed a handful of crudo dishes and nigiri, I got to enjoy the Longhorn Roll. This roll was solid, nothing mindblowing. We all enjoyed the Spicy Miso Ramen! Rich, flavorful broth that rivals some of my top ramen spots. After…read morerecently moving back, I chose it for my birthday lunch with friend because I had such fond memories of dining there. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. I arrived about 20 minutes before opening and had to wait outside in Houston's summer heat 93'F. While there are a few benches, there is very little shade, and guests are not allowed to wait inside. When the restaurant opened, there was no clear system for seating guests. Even though I was first in line, several people rushed in ahead of me, making the process feel disorganized. The biggest issue involved a $300 gift card that my friend had received years ago. She simply asked the staff to check the balance. When the server returned, he told us the manager had cut the card in half and that the entire balance had to be used during that visit. What bothered me was the lack of communication. We were never informed of the policy before the card was invalidated. If that is the restaurant's policy, it should be explained clearly beforehand. As two ladies having lunch, spending $300 was difficult, so we ended up ordering far more food than we normally would. The sashimi was fresh but cut thinly than what I've had at comparable restaurants. The hamachi kama, chirashi, and lobster mac and cheese were good. The green tea soufflé cheesecake was the biggest disappointment. For $10, it consisted of three very small cubes and felt overpriced. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly and professional, which helped salvage the experience. However, between the uncomfortable wait outside, the chaotic seating process, and the poor handling of the gift card, this visit did not live up to my previous experiences. While I have many good memories of Kata Robata, I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon.

Normally I would suggest other places after one visit but found myself drawn to the convenience of the menu and the friendly staff. So the menu is asian fusion for breakfast and lunch items in the form of tacos, nachos, quesadillas, rice bowls, salads, and some cocktails thrown in. As tempted as we were to do an adult beverage, we stuck with lunch items for professionalism. Some items we tried were the following: Tacos: Brisket: 8/10 Tofu Tikka Masala: 9/10 Tilapia: 6/10 Pulled Pork: 7/10 Salads: Mango and Kale: 8/10 Caesar: 7/10 Taco Salad w/ chicken: 9/10 Rice Bowls: BBQ Pork: 7/10 Other Items: Brussels Sprouts: 8/10 Chips and Guacomole: 5/10 Chips and Spicy Hummus: 7/10 Only item we didn't care for was the chips and guacamole. The guac is bland as it's just mainly mashed avocado w/ minimal seasoning and missing items such as red onion, cilantro, lime juice, etc. The chips however are wonderful and excellent for dipping which goes well with the hummus. Hummus has a kick; not the best but good for the price and comes out quickly. The rice bowls are filling and ok. The taco salad was probably the best item; very powerful southwest flavors and the chicken very tender. Now the tacos; the brisket and tofu tikka masala are both tasty; brisket is tender and the tofu tikka masala might make you forget it's tofu. Pulled pork was alright but messy. The tilapia is tender but also messy and the tortilla kept breaking apart due to the salsas and toppings. Need to make it stronger! The plaza is lucky to have this and when I have future assignments out this way, I'll be sure to stop back in and try their other items.

We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!

We've always wanted to try The Rice Box in Rice Village and finally got to do so when we had…read morefriends from out of town! We got the sesame chicken and pepper steak. Both were exactly the flavors I was looking for. Sesame chicken was tender and sweet. The pepper steak had a great soy based sauce that was delicious! I didn't care for the carrots and would rather have other bell peppers though. I'd stick to rice for the side as the lo mein didn't have much flavor, was very thick noodles, and wasn't our favorite. The portions on both were great and more than enough for 2 people! We also tried the nitro thai tea, which had a smooth feel to it but did fall short of a typical thai tea. I did not enjoy the white tea nitro as it had an almost sour taste to it. All in all, the food is yummy for a good price and I'd check out some other dishes as well!

Super cool, very futuristic, and hip. I'm from St. Louis and I have been craving some chinamen (that's what we call it in the 314) I didn't want that light skin rice you houstonians seem to simp over. I've had soo many rices here in my 4 years and this by far was the best. The house fried rice is top notch. Let me not forget to mention Hugo! He was so sweet and a genuinely nice person. Explained ingredients and joked with me even. 10/10!!!! The photos do absolutely no justice! I forgot to take a photo before I chowed down.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Have had lunch here and now dinner. We first…read morevisited in The Woodlands. Such a good experience that we went last night for date night. First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. Restaurant vibe is relaxed and clean. There were several large parties and what looked like a lot of date night guests. Just try it. No regrets!!

This was my second time dining here, and given the overwhelmingly positive reviews, my expectations…read morewere higher than usual. Unfortunately, just like my first visit, they were not fully met. We had reservations for brunch, and our party of six was seated immediately on the beautiful second floor. Service was efficient throughout the meal, with our waiter taking our orders promptly and the food arriving quickly. To start, we ordered the Brussels and the hummus. The Brussels were cooked very well and had an excellent crispy texture, but I felt the kung pao vinaigrette lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. A little more sweetness and acidity would have helped brighten the dish and make it more memorable. The hummus, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. Both the red beet hummus and edamame hummus were flavorful and enjoyable. They paired well with the crisp flatbread and even served as a nice accompaniment to some of our less exciting entrées. For my meal, I ordered the marinated artichoke pizza, which unfortunately did not stand out. I had the same issue that I experienced during my previous visit: the crust was simply too thick and chewy. After a few slices, my jaw was genuinely getting tired from all the chewing. The pizza also could have benefited from more bacon and a more generous amount of sauce, as it came across a bit dry overall. The campanelle suffered from a similar problem. While I understand that simplicity was likely the goal, the dish was so understated that it ended up feeling bland. It tasted like a slightly elevated version of buttered pasta with just a hint of white wine. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it lacked the depth of flavor needed to make it memorable. On a much more positive note, the carrot cake pancakes were easily the star of the meal. I tend to gravitate toward savory breakfasts, but my sister was eager to try them, and I am so glad she did. These were not your typical pancakes. They were thick, fluffy, and incredibly soft in the center. With toppings like maple butter, maple cream, mascarpone whip, candied walnuts, and cardamom sugar, I expected the dish to be overwhelmingly sweet. Surprisingly, everything was balanced quite well. While I cannot imagine finishing an entire plate by myself, anyone with a sweet tooth would absolutely love them. Overall, this restaurant continues to impress me with its atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes, but the entrées I have tried have not lived up to the hype. If I were to return, I would happily order the hummus and carrot cake pancakes again, but I would probably skip the pizza and pasta in favor of trying something new.
