Carrabba's Italian Grill - Big Beaver We stopped at Carrabba's on Big Beaver and had a great experience from start to finish. We had a child with celiac disease in our group, so having safe gluten free options was especially important to us. Our server, Brandon, was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had options. He even had a special gluten free soup prepared for us, which we really appreciated. Our gluten free guest had the Tuscan Grilled Chicken with broccoli, my date ordered the Steak and Shrimp Pasta Toscana with a salad, and I had the Pasta Weesie with chicken soup. Everything came out cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. Brandon was pleasant, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. We enjoyed the meal enough that we even took a couple of meals home with us. Overall, this was a really good experience. Great food, excellent service, and most importantly, Brandon made our gluten free guest feel taken care of rather than like an inconvenience. We'll definitely be back. read more

I've been here a few times in the past, but it's definitely been many years since I've visited so I decided to review it today. I was somewhat surprised that I hadn't reviewed it in the past! We just got takeout, so that is sometimes not fair to the restaurant, but I can only evaluate what I experienced. We had the mezzaluna ravioli, which was average, but the scampi Damian was pretty good. There is definitely a difference in Italian food from a chain restaurant like this compared to a standalone place. They do the best they can, but it's never going measure up to some of the better options around town. read more

This restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very nice. My girlfriend brought me here for the happy hour for my birthday. I had never been here before and when she ordered lamb chops, I was delighted, but they weren't on the menu. So I guess I have to come back. Second time trying first time reviewing. I don't know about how authentic italian it is, but it certainly hits a spot if you have a craving for italian food. We got the classic sampler, an Alfredo pasta, and chicken marsala. All three were quite flavorful, and not overly salty or overly oily, which was my specific customization. The calamari was not overly breaded. However, by the time I got home, it was not too crunchy. The mozzarella sticks were nice and cheesy and had a cheese pull to it. The bruschetta what's a crowd favorite and our family. The alfredo pasta with mushroom and shrimp was decadent and not too heavy, which these dishes typically are. The chicken marsala was supposed to be the most popular dish, however it did not amaze me, that wasn't bad. I enjoyed the addition of the pasta with whole tomato sauce more so surprisingly. The soup was chicken noodle and it was a little salty, but overall pretty good and kid friendly. The service was on point. All customizations were honored. Staff are friendly. Went here for the first time this past weekend, hostess was friendly and sat us immediately. She brought over to a table for easy access and an out of the way spot for our baby stroller which was nice. Our server was friendly and on top of things, my husband and i each had a holiday drink to start and an order of calamari. Which we both enjoyed. My entree was kind of eh, i had chicken marsala and was under whelmed. (Also have never been served this as a piece of grilled chicken with sauce on top) You can tell this place just heats up premade food and sends it out, everything came out EXTREMELY fast. I'm not dissing the establishment at all, that's kind of what I expect from a franchise establishment. However I would absolutely return here for apps and drinks! read more

We've been frequenting this Carrabba's for over a decade and I can't believe it how consistently they deliver amazing food & flavors! The filet is seasoned to perfection and they nail the cook, however it is requested! The Alfredo is the best we've had and we've tried too many places to name! There signature drinks are Devine! The blackberry sangria is strong, fruity and beyond delicious. The watermelon basil lemonade cooler was light & refreshing! I almost forgot the meatball & ricotta appetizer... the sauce is AMAZING and pairs so well with the delicious meatballs & ricotta. Ordered chicken piccata. It was basically an inedible. Two medium size chunks of chicken, which were very dry and very tough. Hard to cut with a knife! The waitress was very attentive the first part of our meal. Once our food was delivered, we didn't see her for quite awhile. We were in for lunch and it was not busy at all. The food was decent. I was especially turned off by the unprofessionalism I witnessed in the kitchen. The kitchen staff were loudly swearing, eating lunch in food prep area, and one was seen texting with both hands while wearing a glove in one hand. So off-putting and unsanitary. The food was great, but I was water and sangria midway through my meal asked for a Diet Coke and a refill on my water never the waitress just dismissed me. Great visit. Excellent service, entrees, quality, quantity of the food and value. It's a chain but there is some comfort in the consistency of a chain sometimes. We knew what we were getting and were glad for it. Food was great and as expected. The bread with dipping oil is choice. Their fettuccini as a side is always excellent. The woman that took our order said she was new and took a bit to get it right but that was it. She was gone after that. Food runners and the manager were all was saw until we paid the bill. Dinner at Carrabba's on a Wednesday night. Everything was as expected. It was not busy and we had no issue getting a table. We started with the Calamari. It was heavily breaded, but well cooked. The dipping sauces were good. I had the Rigatoni Martino with chicken for an entree, which included a salad. I opted for the house salad. It was bland. The dressing may have been a creamy Italian or Caesar. The Rigatoni was bland for my taste. There were huge chunks of chicken. The sun dried tomatoes helped with the flavor. The service was good. My wife and I had lunch on Sunday, March 22. The chicken soup was good as always. I ordered a new feature, the pistachio coated trout and my wife had the chicken Parmesan. She felt the dish was very average. My trout was good except for the parts that were charred. You would think that the kitchen would not allow burnt food out go out to the customer. Went to this Carrabba's and it was the worst experience! Waitress didn't seem to know we existed, sat there for over an hour after putting out entrees in with nothing. Manager came by and we ended up having to just have the food packed up since we had somewhere to be. Very disappointed. The manager did take 50 percent off of our bill but it still ended up being 40 dollars which is expensive to not be fed! Should've been free in my opinion but maybe they can't afford to do that since they probably have to give discounts often due to the incompetent service and kitchen. read more

There was approximately 15 minutes wait upon arrival. Not too unreasonable. This is my first experience at this restaurant and there were some hits and misses. To start we are brought bread with an oil dipping plate. There is a garlic salt on the plate which is just over kill. Way to salty. Bread is warm and soft though. Prickly pear and Blood Orange martinis as drinks. They came out fairly quick and had great flavor and the right amount of kick! my appetizer was a salad that came with my meal. This was truly just wet lettuce. Maybe they missed adding the italian dressing as this was a completely flavorless dish.. Absolute miss!! My entree was the lobster ravioli. The ravioli was good, the sauce was good, i just needed these two items simmered together. The look separate on the plate and really tasted separate. They really just needed a moment to marry together and this would be a star. Dessert which was not shown was the canoli cake. Decent size slice and not bad. The steak I had was pretty good but the sample platter I had wasn't that good even though it was fairly priced. I would probably give this place another try but wouldn't hold it to the highest standards. It was disgustingly busy on a Saturday and the food took over an hour to get. I recently had the worst experience at this restaurant. It started off well with a warm greeting and prompt seating. However, my party and I were placed at a dirty table in a back area, with a direct view of a storage/back room, and surrounded by extra chairs. It seemed like the area we were seated in is also used for restaurant storage. We politely requested to be moved to a different table, which was accommodated without any issues. But then things seemed to go left. After being moved to a more suitable table, it took over 15 minutes for our server to approach us. Despite servers continuously passing by and even glancing at our table, none of them acknowledged us. I tried to get the attention of the hostess as she walked by, but she looked right at me and ignored me. It felt like we were receiving poor service just because we asked to be moved (*I only say this because the service at other tables seemed to be going far more smoothly. People who were seated after us we done before our second courses arrived*). Finally, our server, Alex, came over and was super friendly. However, he seemed overwhelmed and frazzled because he was serving tables in multiple sections. This resulted in slow and disorganized service. We had to wait a long time to get bread, our drinks, and even place our order. We were so desperate for assistance that we were looking for someone else to grab our waiter. Another server, Justin, approached us because he noticed my sister's frustration. Although he made a comment in a condescending manner (something like, "Do you all need help? She's looking at me with a concerning face") , we were grateful that he brought us bread after being seated for nearly 35 minutes by that point. To make matters worse, the appetizers arrived with burnt items, the salads took forever to be served, and the entrees arrived before we could even take a few bites of our salads. Additionally, all of the food was cold. I've eaten at several Carrabba's across Michigan and have NEVER had an issue with food quality or service. Both were terrible during this visit. I usually LOVE Carrabba's, but this experience has turned me off for a while. If you're in Troy, I strongly recommend skipping Carrabba's and opting for Maggiano's instead. read more

Decided to try Carrabba's out for lunch today and I'm so glad I did. While this location does not offer lunch specials, my meal was great! Located right off of Big Beaver in Troy, this location boasts plenty of parking. Nestled in a small strip center right off of the highway, not too far from Somerset Mall. You have to walk all the way to the front of the restaurant which is the total opposite of where the parking lot is located, a little confusing but overall, worth it. I ordered the 7 oz. Sirloin Steak with Garlic Mash Potatoes and Spinach with a House Salad. Overall, the price point was normal, the ambiance was really nice, and the server was so kind. I loved my meal and would definitely would try this place out again. My only recommendation, try lunch specials. She seated us in the section that my friend knew the waitress. I was so glad that we had Candice Marshall.
