It's one of those classic, "home-cooked" comfort foods that rarely translates well to a commercial kitchen. Too often, it's just a bland, dry block of meat hidden under a pile of ketchup or gravy. However, a friend insisted I try it here, so I decided to give it a whirl. I'm glad I did. It was actually pretty darn good. The meatloaf was flavorful and well-prepared, served with a rich, mushroom-laden gravy that really elevated the dish. It came with a solid side of mashed potatoes and broccoli to round it out. I'd also be completely remiss if I didn't mention the bread basket. It single-handedly ruined my calorie count for the day, but in the most pleasing way possible. It fell somewhere between a dinner roll and a doughnut, especially after adding the semi-sweet butter. All in all good meal. My tummy was pleased . If you're looking for a solid meal in a nice atmosphere, this place is worth a visit.

Later that evening, I stepped outside at approximately 9:32 PM. When I attempted to return inside around 9:35 PM, I was unable to get back into the restaurant. I remained outside until approximately 9:42 PM trying to get someone's attention. The restaurant had been closed for approximately 40 minutes at that point, but seven people from our party were still inside. I completely understand that restaurants close and employees need to leave. That isn't my complaint. My concern is that I was a member of a party that was still inside the restaurant, and there was no reasonable communication or assistance when I attempted to return. What really made this experience worse, however, was what happened afterward. Rather than immediately leaving a negative review, I contacted Stoney River directly through the website and submitted a formal complaint. I gave management the opportunity to hear what happened, provide an explanation, and hopefully make the situation right. No one ever responded. No phone call. No email. No acknowledgment. Nothing. That is incredibly disappointing, especially considering this was a large party of 15 people who had made a reservation and spent their money at the establishment. Customer service isn't just about how you're treated when everything goes perfectly. It's also about how a business responds when a customer has a legitimate concern. I was willing to give Stoney River the benefit of the doubt and allow management to address the situation privately. They chose not to. So here we are. The original incident was disappointing. Being completely ignored after formally bringing it to management's attention is what earned this review. I hope Stoney River takes customer complaints more seriously in the future.

We had a child with celiac disease in our group, so having safe gluten free options was especially important to us. Our server, Brandon, was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had options. He even had a special gluten free soup prepared for us, which we really appreciated. Our gluten free guest had the Tuscan Grilled Chicken with broccoli, my date ordered the Steak and Shrimp Pasta Toscana with a salad, and I had the Pasta Weesie with chicken soup. Everything came out cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. Brandon was pleasant, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. We enjoyed the meal enough that we even took a couple of meals home with us. Overall, this was a really good experience.
