Extremely disappointed in the lowball offer to purchase my Toyota Tundra. Previously purchased a car here, but will definitely not be back.

He always has a friendly attitude and genuinely cares about helping customers. I recently bought a car from CarMax, and it had to go into the service department. Chase kept me updated on my car every day, which I really appreciated. He was always friendly, professional, and patient throughout the whole process. It's refreshing to meet someone who truly cares about helping customers. Thank you, Chase, for your excellent service!

Unfortunately, I am unable to leave 0 stars. Made an…read moreappointment for today to get an offer for my vehicle after doing an initial online inquiry. I got there 5 mins early and then given a whole speech about how the process works, visual inspection inside and out, test drive by a trained mechanic, followed by a mechanical inspection. At the end of this the appraiser would compile all of the data, do a history search, market analysis and then provide a competitive offer. All sounds good. I was even warned that this would take 30-40 mins as this was a very thorough assessment. What total bullshit this turned out to be! I went and sat in the waiting room where I could see my car. After about 10 mins a technician went out to the car. She opened one back door for a 15 second glance, then the same in the front passenger side. She didn't open the trunk or the hood and then went off for a test drive. I assumed the engine and trunk inspection would happen on return. Nope, nothing. I timed the test drive 4mins 45 seconds, so much for being thorough! After 1 hour I was still waiting for my offer so I went back to the guy that gave me the fairytale at the start. He said they're still appraising it. When I told him that the so called inspection was completed 40+mins ago he looked at me like a deer in the headlights. I asked him to go and get my key as I had another appointment, and that I wasn't interested in waiting any longer for an offer. He came back with the key and said 'oh let me check if the offer is ready'. Miraculously it was! He went through it told that the car was OK on all of the check points, obviously most of them were never checked of course. However they did notice a couple of dings in the passenger door. The car is immaculate so I questioned this and told him there were no dings in it an hour ago! The offer they gave was on the lowest end of the range given in my initial inquiry, which is astonishing for a low mileage vehicle with no accidents and in immaculate condition. I took the quote and left. I checked the passenger doors, no dings what so ever. Go figure! You see all of these wonderful ads for CarMax on the TV. All I can say is that this store doesn't live up to any of the ads. I counted the number of employees were 6 to every customer in the show room, most of them huddled together chatting. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT go here. They are unprofessional and will try to rip you off.

[Advice to car buyers: Get a Pre-Purchase Inspection. It's worth it!] Brian, the owner, is an honest dealer. We asked about taking the car to a local mechanic for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. He had no problem with that. The car checked out and was mechanically sound. Next, we needed to make a deal that the young man could afford. We researched the car and knew what it was worth. Brian also knew its value. In fact, he posted the KBB value in the windshield and showed his price was a fair amount less. Then came financing. Brian had a couple of options, but my son was not approved for them. We went to a local credit union, where he did qualify for 80% financing and payments he could afford. Brian was patient, supportive, and stayed in communication with us through the process. When it came time to pick up the car, he even opened the shop an hour early, just for us. I don't understand the bad reviews here. A couple of them appear to be from fake accounts. Our experience with Jay's was superb. I recommend that you check it out.

I also posted this on DealerRating site:…read more My daughter was run off the road by a drunk driver and crashed her first car. I have never seen her so sad nor heard such heart wrenching crying at her loss. Personally I am just happy she walked away without injury but still felt her pain. She began looking for a new car on 3/20/2018. She had a specific type of car in mind, Toyota Camry Solara, as she heard Toyota's can go for 300,000 miles if car maintenance was kept up. Her mother took her to see approximately 30 cars at several large and small dealerships. ALL of them found on the internet seemed to have great images and all spoke of fantastic values and what great cars they were, all with a clean Carfax. ALL OF THEM were lemons. At 1 dealership she was shown a car. She and her mother test drove it. They both said it was AMAZING so on a Saturday I drove from Bay area to Sacramento, picked her up and went to see the car. We then test drove it and it sounded like the transmission was chewing metal. The assorted squeaks and chattering from several things were so loud you could not hear yourself talk. She started crying and said the car did not sound or drive like this the night before. Turned out when she inspected the car closer that it was NOT the one they were shown and test drove the night before. Talk about a Bait and Switch, what they did I would think is criminal. She continued her search then sent me a link to one she found in Pleasanton at Auto World and asked if I could go out and take a look at it. I drove out there and could Not believe the car that I found and purchased. The images did not Even compare to the beauty of the car. Everything about this vehicle was absolutely phenomenal. With 165,000 miles on it, the motor turned over like it was new. When test drove there was not 1 squeak, chatter or grinding sound what so ever. The wear on the interior was Less than what would be expected in a 2005 and it did not smell like an old forest. The tires almost new. Every electronic system worked! Absolutely Incredible! The salesman and GM I worked with were absolutely wonderful people. If I lived in the area I think I would actually visit them from time to time just to socialize. There was No pressure what so ever in the purchase of the car. Actually the car really sold itself so most of the test drive we talked about other things in our personnel lives. Then there was the price. I am not going to divulge how good of a deal I got but I will tell you this, in a few months my youngest daughter graduates and I have to purchase another vehicle for her. I will be going to Auto World right from the start this time. Not going to spend countless hours searching online and traveling long distances when I need to get a car. The money I saved from what they were asking to what I actually purchased the car for will easily cover the cost of having an upgraded Stereo System put in. :-) Now THAT totally Rocks! I will begin my next car buying experience by first going to Auto Worlds website that makes it very easy to see their inventory. For your convenience they are located here: http://www.autoworldpleasanton.com/ Jamie and Mo, I again would like to thank you for the wonderful deal you gave me on the car. It was awesome when my daughter arrived to pick it up. There is Nothing that makes a father feel better then when his daughter, tears streaming down her face from joy, gives you a great big hug thanking you. Repeatedly. :-) At least 10 times in the 15 minutes I turned it over to her. The sadness I saw her go through when she lost her first car became an Instant, distant memory as I watched her test drive her new one. I should have taken a picture of the smile on her face. :-) I have read some of the other Negative reviews from this Yelp site and I will state that I just purchased the vehicle on 5/5/2018 but as of yet, there is not 1 negative thing I can say about this place. Save yourself some time. START here when looking for a used car. Check the web-site, if you find something interesting go down and check out the car and others on the lot. THEN continue with other dealerships. You will have a good starting point at which to compare other things you find. I bet you will come back to Auto World to purchase. I wish everyone the best of luck in searching for a used car. It is Such a pain trying to find a good deal and a vehicle you feel confident won't break down a few days after you drive it away. We will see how good this car is, as the days go by. I will come back to this review in a month or so and give an update as to how well the car is still running. Take care all, thank you for reading my post it truly comes from the heart. David.

Excellent communication, service, and timely replies. I received a significant discount on the OTD price, even when including the BuySide Auto fee. On top of that, I NEVER had to step into a dealership, talk to a salesperson directly, spend hours playing the "let me ask my manager" game, or have to talk to a Finance manager and repeatedly say NO to unnecessary options. All communication was easily done through email and text, although phone and in-person contact was also available. Process starts with completing a convenient online request. From there, Kim contacted me to fully understand my wishlist, range of optional requirements, and any non-negotiables. After reaching out to their dealer network, within a day she provided a list of potential matches with estimated OTD prices, which included some in SoCal available for transfer to the Bay Area and cars still in production with estimated availability dates. I had a lot of questions and some requests and Kim was very responsive and instrumental in relaying them to the dealer and advocating for me. Even my request to remove all dealer installed options was negotiated by Kim and granted by the dealer with no hassle on my end. I paid the BuySide Auto fee to reserve the car for purchase and when the car was available I opted to pickup at their office in SF. Home delivery to SF is also currently no charge, while delivery outside of the city is available with a modest fee. Upon first contact, I asked if weekend pickup or delivery was available, since their normal hours are on weekdays. Kim made note of it and remembered my preference even after the sale was completed. Chris was able to make himself available for Saturday pickup! We took a walk around the car took a look inside. We spent no more than 10 minutes reviewing and signing paperwork, received my keys, and I was off with my brand new car! Both Kim and Chris were great to work with and I have no hesitation in working with them again for future car purchases.
