It's worth it!] Brian, the owner, is an honest dealer. We asked about taking the car to a local mechanic for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. He had no problem with that. The car checked out and was mechanically sound. Next, we needed to make a deal that the young man could afford. We researched the car and knew what it was worth. Brian also knew its value. In fact, he posted the KBB value in the windshield and showed his price was a fair amount less. Then came financing. Brian had a couple of options, but my son was not approved for them. We went to a local credit union, where he did qualify for 80% financing and payments he could afford. Brian was patient, supportive, and stayed in communication with us through the process. When it came time to pick up the car, he even opened the shop an hour early, just for us. I don't understand the bad reviews here. A couple of them appear to be from fake accounts. 10/20/22, found on CARGURUS, I don't recall which site, I bought a second 2003 Toyota Tundra V8 SR5 4x4 Step-side this time from Brian last Friday last week. Brian's father Jay began this business during 1940's in San Leandro, California so they know the business. . Brian gave me an excellent deal !!!! I had the truck inspected prior to my purchase. There's a few minor things for me to follow up with but, all in all, this truck is a classic. If you have a chance to buy an older model Tundra V8, buy it now. All trucks from all manufactures worldwide are phasing out the V8 to V6 Turbo. V8 engines will be nostalgic. When Brian has another exact model, I will buy again. read more

Brian showed me the truck and handed me the keys for a test drive. The truck sold itself and Brian's easy going attitude made the process easy. Not typical for a car lot as I am used to pushy salesmen. Paperwork process did not take long and Brian took the time to explain the paperwork and answer all of my questions. First red flag was when I told Bryan, the worker, that I was interested in a manual vehicle Bryan states "you know it's a manual car?" as if I didn't check up model of the vehicle that I originally wanted. I tried to brush off the snarky comment and set up an appointment with Bryan to check out a vehicle. He proceeds to say "are you sure you can't see it sooner?" As if I was doing him an inconvinience. I just had to deal with errands prior to seeing this vehicle. I again, brush off the comment. Now comes time to see this vehicle and He was SUPER RUDE from the beginning. As a woman who knows her vehicles, I seen it as a slap in the face when he didn't even know who I was when I even called to set up an appointment! This man would rather sit around his office talking to his buddies than try and sell me a vehicle. On top of my thorough check, there showed 2 oil leaks under the vehicle!! When I called him out, he just kicked me out the shop. He showed no type of professionalism or interest selling a vehicle. I saw a used car that these guys had for sale that was a very specific configuration and happend to be exactly what I was looking for. Brian got back to me quickly and was very easy to deal with, including working with me to get an inspection by my family mechanic, and once that was done, I was in and out of his office in under 45 minutes, and all the paperwork were completed like clockwork. The car was as advertised and interior was cleaned up very well. Brian even alerted me to some pre-existing body issues that made sure I was aware of it before I even saw it. Buying a used car is never an 100% sure thing, so at the end of the day buyers do need to go in any deal with the right expectations, but as far as getting a used car goes, Jay's auto was a great experience. read more

I was trying to request more information on a car they had , I called twice the day before I went, and twice the morning before I went and didn't get a response or an answer. I figured if I went the car would be available since the ad was still up and when I got there Brian (the sales man who I talked to) told me that he was holding the car for someone who didn't put a deposit down and offered him less money than I did. I thought car dealerships were first come first serve but I guess this place doesn't honor that idea. I would not recommend wasting your time with this place. read more

I have purchased two cars from Jay's Autos, both from their previous lot. I first bought a 1998 GMC Jimmy from Jay. It had low miles and it was so clean. Jay was very relaxed and not pushy. Very personable guy and wants to help you, but they also need to get their fair price. I never had any issues with the car and I'd probably still be driving it today if it wouldn't of been rear ended. I then came back and I found a 1997 Toyota 4runner with high miles. Brian talked to me about the car and I asked him a lot of questions that he answered. He assured me that the car was running exceptionally and I could feel that too. It had some exterior blemishes and a some slight interior wear, but I knew these 4runners were solid, so I bought the car. The price was a little higher than I wanted, but I would never taken back my purchase looking back on it. My 4runner is running perfectly and I have taken it on several trips that included 4 wheeling. I have had just general maintenance and minor problems that are expected in a high mileage car. I have already put on 20k miles and I think I can drive this forever. More reliable than the other two Hondas I had. Thank you Jay's for delivering great service and clean cars. read more
