Bait and switch advertising- ad is for one price, but real price is higher. This is called bait and switch, its not ethical and violates consumer protection laws. Heres the proof, see photos.

CarMax Henderson

My husband and I stopped by Carmax on a Saturday morning. This Carmax location is in Henderson. We were looking at the Lexus ES300h which is the sedan hybrid model of the Lexus ES350. CarMax opened at around 9:00 A.M. The process to test drive the vehicle required a lot of paperwork to be signed prior to driving it. The vehicle had low mileage and no issues with it. The service was great at this CarMax location. The team member we were working with provided great feedback and answered all of the questions that we had! The team member was transparent with the buying process and it was a great experience overall! There were plenty of other vehicles available at this location, but at the time, we were only interested in test driving the Lexus ES300h that was available. We didn't end up buying a vehicle when we visited, but we at least were able to test drive out the Lexus ES300h that was available and get more information on the vehicle!

I used to really HATE going to car dealerships. Especially a used car dealer. (sorry, I know some of you, somewhere, MUST mean well), but before this, I hadn't had that experience yet. Well, except the Porsche dealer in SLC. Their service dept. generally delivers a good experience. But I was determined to buy a used car that was economical and reliable, for a daily driver. So, I had to brave the universe of used cars. I also had to trade in a car, and again, didn't want the experience of having to deal with all of the want ad, KSL online stuff, etc. So, having heard good things about CarMax and not wanting to deal with all of the aforementioned nonsense, I drove my now unloved, trouble prone former luxury car to CarMax. I was shocked to find high-service availability people working there that were so kind, and so pressure-free, that it was somewhat disorienting, and certainly unexpected. A great willingness to serve along with significant patience; no steering or pressure toward buying or selling, just what felt like a legitimate effort to provide good service and GREAT business process, was experienced. They also gave me a no-haggle price that exceeded my own internal estimate of the amount I would need in order to get rid of my used car (based on some ChatGPT research and quick online reading.). So, you can imagine how surprised I was when they beat my estimated offer minimum. Fast forward many steps, in the order of brevity.... The rest of the experience, the automation, the business process, and keeping the promises that the business delivered, all the way down to the continuous over communication regarding the car I ordered, and voila! A happy, yet discerning customer was born. CAR MAX. I won't ever do it another way again if I need a used car. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Ford F150 XLT

It wasn't a perfect experience, but I still give 5 stars because I truly believe Carrie in corporate and the GM of the store are stand-up people who genuinely care about making sure their customers are happy and in the right vehicle. In the end, everything worked out as it should. Carrie was extremely professional, patient, and helpful throughout the process, and the GM was equally understanding and supportive. I stand by the fact that CarMax sells reliable, well-running vehicles. Two of my children have purchased cars from them, and I recently purchased a Ford F-150 myself. Each time, the vehicles have been excellent. I've been very satisfied with the service I've received--both when selling my vehicle (fair offer) and when buying one (fair price). I would feel completely confident recommending this dealership to anyone looking to buy a car.

2019 Genesis G90 3.3t

I purchased a 2019 Genesis G90 3.3T from this CarMax location, and while the car-buying process went smoothly, my experience with the service center was disappointing. When I test drove the car, I noticed the brakes were squeaking noticeably. After purchasing the car, I took it to the service center to address the issue. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't resolved. The squeaking persisted, so I brought the car back a second time. Even after the second visit, the issue only got worse. Frustrated, I decided to take the car to an outside mechanic. They informed me that the front brake pads were worn out and needed replacement, along with rotor resurfacing. I went ahead with the repairs, which cost me $300. Afterward, the squeaking was mostly resolved. When I contacted the service center to request reimbursement for the repair, I initially spoke with someone who took my paperwork but didn't follow up. A few days later, I called again and got a more helpful representative who directed me to the service manager, Oscar. I emailed him the invoice for the repair, and the next day, he informed me they couldn't reimburse me. He claimed the issue wasn't related to their workmanship or craftsmanship--even though they failed to address the problem twice and didn't replace the pads or perform any substantial repair. I'm extremely disappointed with their decision. I chose to purchase my car from this location because it had low mileage and was exactly what I was looking for. However, this experience has made me reconsider how I approach buying cars in the future. Let this be a reminder to thoroughly inspect every aspect of a car before purchasing, listen for unusual sounds, and ensure any concerns are properly addressed before completing the deal. At minimum I was looking to at least get my money back.

Are they currently doing markups?

Mark-ups? When my daughter bought her car in October, it was reasonably priced considering the market. Like I said, in my review, they were the easiest to deal with. If you have your own financing of course it's better, but you can always refinance… Read more

I immediately flew that same day to Michigan to handle this unexpected and untimely event. I thought i had another car company buying the car. I send all the required paperwork. I waited two days for them to come and get the car and after the test drive they decided that they wouldn't buy it. Now I'm all freaked out. I have a vehicle registerd in a state I no longer live in and nowhere to go and I need to get back to work on the East Coast. A friend offered to let me keep the car at hos place while I try and figure things out. As I am driving the vehicle to my friend's house ...thank you Jesus...I get a call from Bryan from Give Me the Vin who gives me an offer and explains the process. I immediately take pictures and send over the documents as this is Friday late afternoon. I am informed that it will all be reviewed the following Monday and should receive a FedEx overnight with the paperwork to sign. As promised Tuesday I receive the paperwork and send it back out with the docs signed. WEd afternnon I get a text confirming everthing has been received. a couple hours later transportation company calls to pick up the vechicle. The following day another text all is complete and given the go ahead and cash the check. I made this process stressful but Give Me The Vin did not. Answered phone calls, texts and emails promptly. Communicated the entire process and held my hand to the end. Now this was a lower offer then what i originally received, but in the end Give Me The Vin stood by their word which means a lot. I couldn't more strongly encourage the use of this company to sell your vehicle. Thank you all at Give Me The Vin!!

I decided to shop around a bit and got offers from CarMax, Carvana, and a few others as well, but GMTV was quite a bit higher than any of the other offers I received. I brought it here to Roy, who inspected it, had me sign some paperwork and handed me my check! Easy as could be! I would definitely recommend selling your car to Give Me The Vin.

We brought the beastie in for a tire replace and then after that the wheel locks went missing, so we had to purchase new ones. Then, the warning light came on before winter break and it was the computer sensor for the DEF tank. It took weeks for them to get it diagnosed, parts ordered and then installed. They had our truck for too long. Plus, we were paying out of pocket, it wasn't just a few hundred dollars. It was so stressful. We are teachers. We work at two different schools and carpooling everyday was exhausting and stressful to say the least. So when we got the truck back it seemed to be functioning. When the DEF needed filling my hubby took care of it, but then we noticed the gauge isn't showing that it was filled. So great, we knew we needed to take it back in, to my disappointment. So, we went in to the service department. My hubby explained everything and suggested they start the work right before spring break so they can have the beastie for a week and we won't be stressed. The manager spoke to the team and we have an appointment to drop it off. I'm relieved so far. Still concerned about the DEF gauge, but optimistic. They guys were welcoming when I pulled into the service area and friendly and helpful when I was pulling out. The manager made time right away to invite my hubby into his office right away to discuss what we needed and got us set up with a plan right away. So far so good. I will keep you posted. Thank you Auto Nation for the great customer service yesterday and we look forward to a successful experience when we come back in March for the servicing of the DEF gauge.

I was initially worried that the interior may be dirty from getting people in and out of it, but was happy to find my vehicle in the exact condition I left it in. Happy that no excess miles were put on her other than about 20 which seems reasonable for test drives, pulling in and out of service dept, etc. Super grateful for the amazing service that I've had from Kazorie in sales, to bringing it in on my first service. Thanks so much guys!!!

Doc fees are ridiculous and I have never paid doc fees in my last 3 purchases since I bought my first vehicle. But here, they refuse to remove them. They want to charge you an enormous amount for "options" that they previously added. They want to charge you for an interior/exterior coating that you can get later for a quarter of the price they ask for. The salesman was very friendly but the manager acted like he was doing us a favor by offering all the upgrades. Now mind you, we were only buying a used car for $5499 as advertised but the price at the dealership was $13k+. EXPLAIN THAT. We ended up NOT being fleeced and just a little more effort, ended up buying elsewhere where they were all about customer service and actually trying to sell you a car. After our visit, they did text me to remind me that if I had any questions to let them know because they were there to help. I have never seen so many fees added to a vehicle. I can only imagine if I was there to buy a new vehicle. I guess it is true that they don't want you to own your vehicle anymore. They want to sink you in debt. My advice, shop for a car when you're not in a hurry and visit as many dealers that you can. Acquire a written quote at each location and ask for any unnecessary fees or up charges you didn't request to be removed. Someone will appreciate the consumer and actually fairly sell you one.
