I've been having many issues with my vehicle since I bought it in 2015. After multiple dealerships, I thought Cardinale Way would help. Nick was a wonderful service advisor, but they were unable to solve my issues involving braking malfunctions. They actually told me to ignore my car's warnings when it tells me I'm about to have a collision when it was being triggered sporadically with nothing in the path of the car. I reached out to Mazda corporate regarding the lack of resolution from the dealer and during a conference call between me, Mazda corporate, and the dealer service manager, Jerry, things got a little heated although no vulgarity or name calling was used in any way. This resulted from Jerry refusing to answer basic questions. Jerry disconnected from the call and now refuses to service the car because he's apparently "too uncomfortable" to work with me, even though I've been polite and courteous on all my visits. In my opinion, Jerry is acting inappropriately. I don't think they want to deal with the problem because they'd rather pass the buck. And I certainly don't want to waste my time on a dealership that isn't willing to fix a practically brand new vehicle. Even Mazda corporate expressed disappointment in their supposed "discomfort" in working with me again. Definitely do not recommend this dealership to anyone. Take your business elsewhere. I can not begin to explain my frustrations. I bpught a car from these guys 3 weeks ago and currently they have had it more then me with all the problems I cpuld deal with that part, but I am currwntly waiting for the manager Jason Graves to call back about it gping in again for the third time for the same thing, still not fixed. These guys have had me buy their loaner cars, 3 tanks of gas, one was so bad it didnt have enough gas for me to get to the gas station to fill ot for them They tried to have me take it through emissions when they realized they hadnt yet, the original problems are all still going on, they haf me make a list, fixed nothing, took advantage of my wife not knowing, and told her they werent fixing a headlight that was broken when I bought it. I missed a dr. Apt. Waiting one time for them to get thier stuff together, and traeted me as thpigh I was inconvienencing them having them fix the problems they sold the car to me with. This isnt even all of it. I'd give the car back if it was an option with how terrible they have been. They are shady, cheap and dishonest. This dealership was such a terrible experience. Which is a shame because I do love the Mazda brand but this dealership does not care about maintaining the Mazda reputation. The sales team completely lied to me about being able to return a car 30 days/1k miles if I didn't like it. This was the only reason I signed the paperwork because I wasn't even able to test drive it! I picked up my car a week later and warning lights came on!! I tried to return or exchange the car, like the sales rep said I could, and the dealership was not having it. Chris Mankin was so condescending and unprofessional. The most Chris Mankin was willing to "help me out" with was buying the car back, (I drove it ONCE before it started malfunctioning), and getting me into a new loan with negative 10k equity!! How is that fair? Plus the vehicle had 2k more miles on it than what was agreed upon/written down on my fiance papers and they wouldn't change it. Borderline illegal practices going on here. I'm giving the dealership 4 stars due to one person: DARLENE L. She sold me my last two cars and I highly regret going with someone different this last time around (I thought she moved dealerships but she came back and I wasn't aware...otherwise I would have not hesitated to use her). My experience this last time around was a 1-star experience until Darlene came into the picture. On the day I picked my car up there was a minor hiccup with a missing key from my lease. My sales guy, a finance woman, and the GM all said, "Well, no big deal, try to find it but if you can't you'll just get billed. It's all good." I asked how much the bill would be for and they suggested it would be several hundred dollars ($400 give or take). I asked if there was anything I could do to purchase the key via a third party, etc. and they all kind of gave me the run-around. Darlene found me and saved me along with Gary at service. I was in and out in less than $20 minutes and they saved me about $300. Darlene even walked me out to my new car, wished me well, told me where to go to get all the neat tips and tricks with the vehicle. My sales guy was nowhere to be found because he was busy chasing another dollar elsewhere. I'm not against people making money, but I prefer the experience Darlene offers. She cares. This Mazda dealership is where I bought my 2016 Mazda 6 and I have no complaints with it! Love the people and most of the service. I work with Nick and Jesus when going in for service and have had no complaints with them; as for the workers doing the work on my car that is a different story. The three times I have gone in for service there is always something wrong. 1. Paperwork for my warranty was messed up for my extra key. The incorrect date was entered and I had to wait over 2 months just to get that corrected 2. When I finally went in for maintenance on the car, they scratched my car when washing it. They did buff them out on my trunk, but that should have never even happened 3. The final time I will ever go for service, because of the workers. They cleaned my car (which I am thankful), but they whomever was working on my car did not wear gloves. I had grease on some of my belongings that they moved to clean my dash and on my steering wheel. I personally feel like they do not have respect for others belongs. Between the hassle of the paperwork being incorrect from buying the car to just the inexcusable treatment of my car, I will no longer be a client of Mazda. read more

Made my experience buying my first car terrible. I love my car but the customer service here is straight up bad. While trying to find financing, I had multiple salesmen tell me I wouldn't get anything less than a 9.99% APR being a young female and not having established credit. I went home that night and got a way better APR through a credit union and went in and purchased my care. I got a follow up email mentioning their "great referral program" and since I was referred here I asked if i could get a referral and was told they couldn't do it on my sale because they got a bad deal on it. Wayne, my salesperson, told me he would add it on to a different sale later in the week. After following up a few weeks later, he said management said no because on ONE trip before the car I purchased was even on the lot, someone else (not the person who referred me) came along with me and had purchased a car there before-so they felt they did not have to take care of that referral anymore since he had purchased a car there previously? Isn't that the definition of a referral? I had to reach out myself to get that answer as well. Management there seem to think they can take advantage of me and I'm disappointed I gave so much money to people who couldn't even follow through with the simplest thing. Been two weeks and good guy Donny won't even respond to the two emails I've sent after he requested I reach out. Highly disappointed with the customer service. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. We were excited about getting a new Mazda crossover for a family car and we were ignored when we entered the dealership. There were four salesman talking and one even asked "who is gonna take this one?" Well, none of them did. I have in the market for a new car for about 3 weeks. I've had good and not so good experiences with car dealerships, but the extent to which they hounded me was practically inhumane. my phone rang 10-20 times a day. I got emails from several "specialists" there. After a few weeks, the texts started. multiple times a day!! I finally decided I am going another route because I cannot deal with the constant pressure. It's hard enough to justify spending 30 or 40 grand on something that will continuously lose its value, but they made it a terrible experience! read more

The service received is outstanding hands down. This is my second Mazda and my service advisor is Nick. During the most recent service appointment there was a small leak noticed by the mechanics. The car is still under warranty so it didn't cost anything but there are two things that make me appreciate the service. My wife has a Honda which had a small leak that we were aware of and we took it to San Tan Honda for regular maintenance and they could never find any leak. Within the first 6 months of the warranty ending and the car taken back for regular oil change they amazingly found a leak and it would only cost $710 to fix. I appreciate Mazda noticing the smallest leak that did. It even leave any drops in our garage to notice. Secondly, our daughter left her wallet in the vehicle and also $20 cash in the glove box. She called and spoke to Stephanie but she had forgotten about the $20 only asked to hold her wallet. When the car was picked up my daughter got her wallet and remembered she left the money in the glove box. Stephanie let her know when she grabbed her wallet she saw the money and put it in her wallet. The mechanic who did the work and reported the leak to Nick should also be thanked but I didn't get his name. A $1995 reconditioning fee for cleaning the car, oil changes for two years (Bill Luck charges $90 for three) and a $200 auto butler (on the lease car I wanted - already there) plus the usual $29.95 document fee is almost $700. They posted part of this on their web site (I used Car Guru and it isn't there) but even that inflated $2500 isn't the $4000 plus they wanted. Nice car though. read more

Wow is all I can say. Buyer beware these salesman aren't on commission but they are still car salesman. We bought a car, or so we thought..five days after bringing the car home were told they couldn't get us financed. Told us my husband had to be on the loan. Well we had a car broker find us a better deal and got my husband financed alone. When we informed them we were brining the car back, Chris, one of the used car manager got nasty with my husband and then hung up on him. Go somewhere else no one needs to deal with the run around they seem to thrive on. Thanking God we are getting the same kind of car, less interest rate, less for the car, giving us what we want for us AND no run around or jerks to deal with. read more

Stay Away! I purchased a Certified Pre Owned (CPO) Mazda from this dealership and my review is a reflection of my experience with the three employees I dealt with. I saw a car listed online and of course the description did not describe any of the flaws with the vehicle (I understand this is standard practice in the industry and I am not holding this against them). Normally this is why you see and inspect the car in person before pulling the trigger right? Being an out-of-state buyer and not being able to do that. So I relied exclusively on my salesperson Brett to give me the details on the car. I asked him three separate times by e-mail, on the phone and by text message to be my eyes for me. I asked him specifically if there were any small nicks and chips on the front of the car. The car had less than 7k miles AND it's a CPO, so I figured there wouldn't be any major damage, but small ones can be missed and are hard to see in photos. Each time he assured and reassured me the car was "SPOT ON" and that I can trust him because he is personally very "anal" with his cars and "cleans (his personal) car with a q-tip". Cleans his car with a q-tip? I don't even do that. So, naturally, I gave him my trust. Despite using some casual / off-colored verbiage in small-talk, Brett was very responsive to all of my inquiries and then passed me on to his manager James. James told me that they "mispriced the car by $2000" but would honor the listed price if we came to an agreement within 24 hours. He also mentioned there was "another buyer looking at the car" but since my credit was better, it would be no problem for them to close this deal for me. I paid my deposit and booked a flight to Phoenix the very next day. I asked Brett if they can send a courtesy shuttle to pick me up. He told me he would personally pick me up from the airport. Brett picked me up curbside as promised and on-time. He is going above and beyond for me by doing that. We arrived at the dealership and the car was waiting for me outside office. It had just been washed and detailed. The car looked great from a couple feet away. But then I started inspecting it more thoroughly and found the following... The hood had paint chips down to the metal (aluminum). The windshields had pits all over the surface and a couple of small tiny cracks that is on the verge of turning into a spider crack. There was a curb rash on the back wheel 1/8th length of the circumference and a smaller rash on the front wheel. There was a small dent on the passenger rear quarter panel. I felt MISLED AND DISAPPOINTED. Brett set my expectation high with his description of the car but there is no way that this car was "SPOT ON" by anyone's definition. I was disappointed with Brett but figured I will talk to his manager James to renegotiate the sale price. We agreed on the purchase price based on Brett's "anal" description of the car. And since his description was absolutely false, I figured there's a chance they can make it right by reducing the price of the car. Wrong. My experience with James was nothing short of frustrating and downright insulting. In my 10 minute conversation with him, he looked me in the eye twice, maybe three times, at the most. The rest of the time he was staring at his computer trying to convince me how great of a deal I was getting. He questioned my intelligence and was very dismissive of my feelings about the whole situation. He used classy lines such as... "I just don't get (why you're making such a big deal about this)" "It's such a great deal, even if you paid to have the paint fixed you'd still come out on top" "we replace windshields every day here in AZ, it's normal to have pits like that" "too bad you don't live here, my guy can fix the paint chips for $100" "the hood is aluminum so it won't rust (even though the chips have gone through the primer)" "if you're asking me to take anything off the car I can't do it" I never heard the words "I'm sorry" during my time there. I could tell Brett was in no position to reduce the price and James' smug face told me he knew I was a long way from home and that he was going to exploit my circumstance. Was the price I paid still a good deal despite the flaws? Yes. Would I live through that ordeal again to buy the car at this price? Absolutely not. I'm going to give Brett the benefit of the doubt and believe that he simply didn't inspect the car as thoroughly as an anal person who cleans his car with a q-tip would. Brett gets a 3 star from me. James gets a solid 0. The finance manager also wasted my time trying to sell me his extended warranty/service plan and for insinuating I was financially irresponsible not taking him up on his offer. So 1 is an honest rating based on my first and absolutely last experience with this dealership. I really wanted this to be my first positive experience at a dealership but I guess I will have to wait a little longer. read more

Absolute worst dealership anyone could go to! Came to cardinale way to get me my first car. Super excited when I first got it, but then realizing they had sold me a lemon I am furious! I took it back for them to fix it the 2nd day I had this car and had to fight them to fix the transmission. They took it to another dealer and fixed the TCM. Then I got it back and it still had the same problem! So I brought it back again, they said I had to drive it 500-1000 miles. Brought it back after that mileage and they took it back into that same dealer. The clutch was needing to be fixed. Do they replaced it. Got it back was driving ok, till looking at the rpms it was going from 3000-5000 rpms to go from a complete stop. So I tried to bring it back again and the dealers were very RUDE and had a lot of attitude towards me. They told me that this isn't their problem and if I drive home they wouldn't even look at it. I've driven about 4 loaner cars from there used cars and they all had problems. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE. They will sell you a broken car and if you're a female they will bully you around and be completely rude and give attitude for something that was their responsibility. If I could rate this place 0 stars it would be in the negatives. This dealership isn't even worth taking the time to look here. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND FRUSTRATION!!! read more

Jake in sales deserves 5 stars. He was incredibly patient with us as we test drove several cars and there was no pressure from him in buying a car. He made our buying experience very pleasant and we enjoyed our time spent with him. He was an amazing salesman! I was not impressed with their service department. I was told the car was being detailed but when we picked it up it still had spots of what looked like soda on the plastic trim, seats, and ceiling. I can understand if they can't remove the stains from the upholstery but it doesn't look like they even tried to remove the spots from the plastic trim. There was also trash from the previous owner left in the car (a children's toy mallet, wipes, and a dime left in a front vent). After our visit we were sure we'd come back if we were to get another car but now I don't feel that I could. I don't feel like I could recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

It makes me really upset to have to write this follow up review, but in light of recent events my opinion of this dealership has completely changed, and I no longer feel comfortable recommending this place. So the scenario is, I purchased my most recent vehicle from Cardinale Way in August 2012. On April 13, 2013, I received a letter from a law firm stating that they had been contracted by Cardinale Way as debt collectors for an outstanding debt I owe the dealership. In looking over the paperwork they sent me, this "outstanding debt" is a $300 down payment that the dealership was suppossed to automatically deduct from my checking account the week after I purchased my car. Keyword here being "automatically". Apparently they never did this, and this entire time I've owned be car (8 months now) the dealership has never contacted or notified me that this debit never occurred. On top of everything, it is now 2 weeks later since having recieved this letter, and absolutely no one from the dealership has contacted me back to resolve this matter. I have left a voicemail with accounts receivable, left my issue on their Facebook page (to which someone commented, but they never actually called me to resolve the issue like they said they would) and I even called and spoke with their GM (who said he would get right on the issue and would call me back - it's now a week and a half later and nothing). Apparently no one at this dealership feels the need to be accountable for their customer's experience once they've sold them the car. I will not be returning to this dealership with my business, nor will I ever recommend them again. read more

Because they were the only dealership in the valley that had the cars I wanted--or so I thought. I had been in correspondence with a salesman, Daniel Maria, for about two weeks. We set up an appointment for tonight to look at the two cars we were interested in. I'd been watching the website and talking to Daniel every day for the past two weeks, and the cars were listed. When I arrived tonight at 7pm for my meeting with Daniel, for which he said he would have the cars waiting out front, he couldn't be found. Another employee tried to find him but couldn't. We finally stumbled upon him and his greeting? "Oh, so sorry. The car you were looking for sold yesterday." Yesterday? YESTERDAY?! I spoke to him yesterday evening. According to him, yesterday the cars still were on the lot. The other car? Oh, it didn't exist. They couldn't find it. Wasn't on the lot. Their excuse? "Daniel is an internet sales guy. They only go off of the webpage." Why would you have somebody working for you that doesn't keep up with your inventory? And why don't you keep the website current with the inventory? And then they tried to sell me a sedan. I want a hatchback. I know why I want a hatchback. I've looked heavily and know what I want. When we came in to buy a used vehicle, the team was incredible and so helpful and kind. We purchased a vehicle and left it there to have tinting fixed, lights buffed, vehicle cleaned, and windshield replaced. We called about the car a couple times and eventually were told it was ready days later. Nothing had been done when we picked it up. We were told someone would contact us about fixing the windshield and tinting at our home and we could have the lights buffed when we came in for our next oil change. The windshield got done. Tinting and lights never happened. We called multiple times. It's been 7 months, we've gone in but the tinting guy "wasn't there". This business will say and do all the right things, but once they get your money, you no longer matter to them and there is absolutely no follow through or professionalism. read more

I didn't know it was even possible to have such a positive car buying experience! It truly was one like no other. Corrie was friendly and warm, and an excellent communicator. From when our communications began by phone and by email, she was terrific with follow up and thoroughness. She was also extremely knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the Mazda 6 and educating us on the features. My husband and I felt taken care of the whole time. Both Corrie and CJ were straightforward and concise, and we didn't feel dirty after talking money because we didn't feel we were being played. Every person we met delighted us and made us feel we were dealing with family. Brian, another salesperson completely unrelated to this sale, gave me a book that they had studied in their book club - The Compound Effect - when it came up in conversation. I was happy to learn of the efforts made to give to the community as a portion of the sale of our car went directly to the Phoenix Children's Hospital in our name. I dont even like the fact that I had to give them 1 star. To make a long story short. 1. buy car. 2. they agree to fix things on car but need to order parts should be done in a week. 3. week comes and goes and another and another and another all while i am making calls asking where everything is. i constantly get the "we will have it shortly" 4. FINALLY after a month and a half, i take the car in and guess what...THEY DONT HAVE THE RIGHT PARTS!!!! 5. get fed up speak to GM, yup the big guy 6. he works out a great deal, i take loaner car for a week while they work on car and they will have it delivered to my house (BTW: I live an hour and a half away) 7. get car after a week and, there are added scratches, bumper looks same as before and paint job looks like it was done with nailpolish! Staff sucks. I had someone walk away from me as I was talking to them. I had another call saying I need to go pick up car since I didnt want to trade in the car I originally bought. I recently bought a new car here. This was the fourth new car i purchased. It was an over all good experience. I am just as protective of my time as I am with my money, so buy a car is always stressful. I hate to give up either! I got the deal I wanted, probably not the best deal. BUT I got in and out with a new car in two and a half hours. Which definitely impressed me. They were fair with my trade in. I felt like I was more knowledgable about the car and their competition then my sales person was. That disappoints me. Competence is important. I was frustrated with the finance department. Not for finance issues though. They made a few errors in documentation and the supervisor called me (at work) to chastise me about them needing to meet their deadlines. I ended up having to come back to sign a new contract. (This was all because of miscalculation, not my credit). I clarify, because I think financing gets a bad rap just because people have credit issues. I recently bought a used car here. If you have a choice (e.g., you are buying a new car), go elsewhere. Here's why. When I first called about the car, I was told several people had already called about it that morning, and that he would have to check and call me back, so I should give him my number. I declined (based on other reviews here), and suddenly he was able to see it was available. So, I went to see it. While at the dealership, I could see the script they use sitting on a desk. The fact that they have a script is a sign that they are professionals at getting your money, but the line that "several people have already called about that vehicle" was in the script, so they are systematically lying to people. When I asked for the "out the door price" based on their posted price, they slipped in a $899 extra (paint protection). They either hope the customer doesn't notice, or if they do, now the customer may feel a victory while they have given no ground at all. Once a deal was struck, I expect things to move quickly. For 40 minutes, I was only allowed to talk to the salesman. I told him I would give no personal information, only a copy of my driver's license and insurance card, but that I had instructions on how I wanted the car titled, and questions on the exact form of my cash payment. He said I would have to ask the finance people about those things, and kept trying to get me to fill out credit information. When I finally saw the finance person, the title was already filled out (and wrong), and the price on the forms he had filled out was higher than the agreed price. They fixed it, but I see only two possibilities: they are incompetent, or the delay was a ploy so that I would forget the exact figure and they could pump it up. read more

I've recently moved to the area and have been taking my Mazda here. I have felt fine about my experiences here. My first trip to Cardinale Way Mazda was actually when my car broke down the day before my first day of work. Needless to say, I was very stressed and the employees at Cardinale Way were very nice and patient. Steve helped me figure out what to do over the phone and then let me know what was wrong with my car and what my options were once I was there. One thing to note is they don't provide rental cars. I'm not sure if equivalent dealerships do generally or if that is more of an upscale car thing but anyways, you have to pay for the rental car. Since that trip I've brought my car in for service where they fixed a small issue I was having but didn't end up having to do much. Overall, the staff there is very polite, but I at times felt a bit like they were "car salesmen" not to reinforce a stereotype. They just spoke to me a bit as if they were trying to sell me something, but when I looked at what I was paying and what I was receiving I felt okay.
