A deliciously appetizing experience. We found Caravan on yelp and we were not disapointed. We ordered the beef shish kabab, Armenian salad, hummus, We had Gazoz soda to drink and finished it off with some Armenian coffee. Armenian coffee does not have the strong foretaste of Turkish coffee, nor the strong aftertaste of Italian cappuccino, but it has all the flavor and caffeine. The beef was tender and flavorful, the rice was delicious and in large portions, and the roasted tomato/pepper balanced everything out. The Armenian salad was delicious and the secret ingredient was olive oil and salt, not lemon juice. It made sense since tomatoes already have citric acid in them and the olive oil balances out the acidity while bringing out the flavor. This is definitely a must visit place in Glendale if you are in the mood for Mediterranean. read more

I have been coming here basically since they first opened. Bottom line, the food is fantastic and the people who own/manage Caravan are the best. They find a way to go above and beyond all the time. Unfortunately I no longer live around the corner. HOWEVER....I am not a pansy and I own a car! So I STILL leave my home and drive down to Caravan (passing dozens of kebab places along the way). My only complaint is that they are no longer a secret. Absolutely love this place!! Great lunch specials which are always so fresh and delicious :) My reoccurring order here is the chicken fatoush salad. SO GOOD! It has the right amount of zest with the lemons and the pita chips are perfection. The chicken is always marinated so well and overall the salad is just the perfect lunch. I called a week in advance to order family style catering for an event. The owner, Hamik was super helpful and accommodating. The day I picked up my food, I was blown away! I had ordered for 30 people, but I could literally feed 40! The food was nicely designed, packaged, and ready to be served. The pricing was also very affordable. Their meat, hummus, and the different salads were so fresh! Hamik is very passionate about his food/menu. He was super nice and took the time to explain the popular dishes. I found this little gem thanks to Yelp. Not too busy on a Saturday afternoon. Easy to find street parking. The inside is clean and the decor is simple. I thought their baba ghahouj seemed very different from any I have tried in the past. I pretty much always order baba ghanouj when I see it on a menu. Caravan's version was very creamy and very white. It was delicious! The flavor was unique. When we asked what was in it, the server replied tahini, eggplant, garlic, and sour cream! Sour cream? Odd, that is not on the menu description. I was worried I would feel the effects later due to my lactose intolerance, but I was fine. The gyro plate was huge! The menu says it comes w/ hummus or pickles. The server did not ask me my preference so I requested pickles. Pickles came out separately as an appetizer so then I got worried she would charge me pickles as an appetizer. She did not. Pickles were only average. The rice, meat, tzatziki sauce, and stuffed grape leaves were all so good! The grape leaves are served cold, and are the best stuffed grape leaves I have ever tried. My friend ordered the beef luleh plate and really enjoyed that as well. Honestly, this place is far from home and I don't know if and when I will eat here again. I'm so glad my coworker told me about this place because the quality of food, the price, and the amount of food they give you and he was right. I only order the beef and chicken lule kabobs from here because they're so damn good, I can't get enough. I like how the plate comes with two large lule kabobs and a healthy serving of rice. You can choose from either hummus or pickles, and roasted pepper and tomato. I'd rather it just come with hummus and tabouli. For around $8 you also get a lot of lavash/pita. The flavor of the lule kabobs are delicious and very moist. Try a piece wrapped in lavash, dipped in hummus, Yum! They deliver and also have a lunch menu. The employees are also very friendly. That was really good... The flavors are unique to this restaurant, it is mild, but I do not have heartburn, and it's sitting in my tummy like it's on a down pillow.. Loved my Hungarian skewer, tender- nice cuts, they don't cut corners you can tell. We arrived at 7:15pm. As we walked in, we were told they were closed. Odd considering their posted hours are to 8pm and the door was propped open suggesting that they were still open. There was no "sorry, we closed up early" or any pleasantries. Just a cold 'we're closed' despite all lights being on and the front door still propped open. GREAT, flavorful, healthy, variety, and great portions. I've been coming to this restaurant for about three years. I must have it at least once a month. The food is great! The owner is very hospitable. I often see him greeting his customers and goes above and beyond to make the party comfortable. My family prefers family style dining and they will accommodate that request easily. It's like home made food. Their hummus and ikra are to die for. Their ingridients are so fresh and the quality of the ingredients are fantastic. Their menu includes the typical beef, chicken, and luleh kabobs; but my favorite are the lamb chops and the cornish hen. The lamb chops are always so tasty and juicy, cooked to perfection. I've had lamb chops at Morton's Steakhouse and these top them, and the portions are much greater , plus the price is so affordable. The cornish hen is always so crisp, but yet juicy. The lavash with the appetizer (ikra, hummus, yogurt, taboulleh) is a great start to the meal and then you can use these sauces or spreads to make your meal much more delightful. The white rice with a touch of saffron colored rice, grilled anaheim chilis and tomatoes. On occassion, I ask them to grill some jalapenos, must have the spice, and they accommodate the request. It's so delish.....!!!!! It's worth a 20mile drive for my family and I. Catering: I used them twice for catering, business luncheon which we picked up the food for; and a birthday party in my home, they set up a bbq grill in my driveway and made the kabobs for my party. For those of you who prefer a low carb lunch, they have the most fabulous greek and a sumak green salad with pita chips. The dressings are so light, practically guilt free. I can go on, and on. They really exceeded my expectations with the vegan option (Veggie Platter) and our waiter was pretty attentive and kind. She remembered my family and the owner was so happy to see us after so many years away. The people that run this restaurant are truly kind and put a lot of effort and love into their food. The best Armenian food in Glendale!! This place is my favorite restaurant in the world. We've been coming here for years and the owners make you feel like family. The main waitress is always so sweet and friendly too. Wow. This is incredible Armenian food. The hummus is one of the best I've had. I highly recommend trying it together with the pickled cabbage. The tabbouleh has a nice spice that I haven't had before in tabbouleh. The chicken lule kabob is incredibly moist with nice spice. And the falafel--oh the falafel--is like a perfect muffin. Light and fluffy, moist, with a nice crispy outside. What put the falafel over the edge was the spices--lots of cumin and coriander. Heavenly. I will come here whenever I'm visiting LA. Additionally, if you dine in you can expect to pretty much fill up on the sides. I always enjoy lule, but at Caravan their chicken thighs are a must have.
