I dropped my car off this morning to have the (SRS/VSA/Check Engine Light) checked out, heat and brakes checked, tires balanced and rotated. I stopped by yesterday to see if this is something they do, and I was told by Eric the Manager, YES. I am a single woman and relied on their expertise to let me know what was wrong. Eric seemed a bit abrupt when leaving it this morning but I had trouble finding a ride so I left it.
1. He called me back at 10:39 to let me know what he found. He said I needed a steering angle sensor it would cost $1,000 and they would have to order it and the dealer didn't have it in stock.
2. I reported that morning screaming noises was coming from the brakes. He told me the brakes looked new. He didn't offer any other options.
3. He told me that heat was fine and he could find no problems. I tried to explain to him the issues and didn't have the right words, and he seemed annoyed and that it was in my head. I finally told him I had been driving the vehicle for over 10 years and nothing was blowing out unless it was on high. He said he would take a look.
4. He finished by saying so we are only doing the rotation and balance today.
5. He calls me back at 1:12 pm only to say your car is ready for pickup. Nothing about our earlier conversation. I go to get off the phone because at this point his attitude felt hostile. I say I will pick it up, "when he asks", I say I don't know I have to find a ride. "Will it be before 4 pm?" I assure him it would be. The conversation wasn't long or pleasant.
5. I get there to pick it up. He mentions nothing about the heat. I pay the invoice of $91.75 for tire rotation and balance and check engine sensor light. I leave.
6. I get in my car and begin to drive off, the ABS light is now on in the car. I back up and go in. I ask him why is this light on? He says, it was on this morning. I politely tell him it was not. The other gentlemen comes over and says it was on when I drove it. I say "no it was not". I brought it to you with 3 lights on and you wrote it down. Eric says, "I removed it from the ticket". I say if the light was on then I would have had you check that light as well., making it 4 lights.
He looks at the other gentlemen and ask if he can turn the light off. He says no, I can show you the book. I would not know what I am looking at. I say why is the light on? Is the car driveable? Eric says, yes it was on when he drove it. Eric says, when you drop it off you told me 3 lights and he repeated the SRS/Check Engine/ABS. I say no look at my bill and it is the VSA/SRS/Check Engine light. Now, I have 4 lights. ABS/VSA/Check Engine/SRS.
I have this on tape. I felt the conversation was going hostile when I spoke with him earlier. I had no one with me so I taped it just for protection. I have his exact words. I am writing this post because women need to be aware of the service. I expected them to tell me what I needed. If they didn't want the job then not taking the car would have been best. I was really wanting to get it fixed and was weighing my options. I asked Eric several times, if he thought it would pass inspection. He said, yes as long as it will drive the first time. I asked the second time after he told me the price. He rudely says, well I was not looking at it for inspection.
It doesn't make sense to me to be in the car business and don't want to fix the car. It would have benefited me to pay the $1,000 and get it to pass inspection if needed. This is why I asked. I could go on and on. I really read reviews. My time and money is important. I would not refer a friend to the place. I would not give them a good review. I deserved better as customer. I never raised my voice and I was very polite even after Eric lied about my ticket. I will be submitting a Better Business Report if they did something to my car to cause the ABS light to come on and I have to get it fixed. If this is apart of the other lights going bad then it will be no problem. I believe businesses should get paid when they do a job and do it correctly. I rely on the automotive expert opinion. I won't have the right words when speaking to my car issues, please be patient.
I would have paid the $1,000. So, as I stated this review was warranted and hopefully it will save some other person time, money and hopeful "no" additional car repairs.
I am not sure what was wrong with Eric but customer service training would be highly recommended or you will continue to loose business.
Very Disappointed,
