I don't like to pay for replacement parts from the dealer (which appears to be the rule in this area of Maryland) but in this case it worked to my benefit. As for inspections, I have heard the same story about just about every repair shop. While I appreciate the level of scrutiny, it appears like a one time chance to obtain a lot of work. Coming from a neighboring state , I was naive as far as the costs and the 30 day requirement for findings to be resolved. A lesson learned the hard way. I have found the Walt Eger team to be responsive to my needs and to provide timely informative updates.

James is at the front desk never called or gave me any updates, my car was there for weeks, He saying that my warranty should have called me but my car IS AT YALL SHOP, y'all have the details but James act like he don't understand things and really don't know how to talk to customers he is very rude ! I couldn't get it fix so I wanted it back to my house, So I TOLD THEM A DAY BEFORE that the tow truck is coming in the morning, I called James and I told him is my car ready and clear for the tow truck to get it and he said YES! So they waste the tow truck money and time because they throw Snow and and it freeze into ice on me car and around it and I had to call another one and I gave them some time told them to call me when I they are done so I can get another tow truck! So I called back James was like we been clear the ice off your car and I told him why u didn't say another, THEN HE JUST START LAUGHING THEN THEY THOUGHT I WOULD NOT KNOW BUT IS A BIG DENT IN THE BACK OF MY CAR THAT THEY DAMAGE! I started with a "simple" inspection (simple does not equal shallow) and received a detailed printout of everything necessary and recommended, along with prices for the work. Several things I could take care of myself at home, but for the big stuff I trusted them to do at a fair price. I could not be happier! The work was done timely and in comparing to other shops, at a very competitive rate. All three times it has been completed before promised. But the other place where EMP *shines* is the customer service! Chrystal and Cam (front office) are personable and friendly. They made me feel welcome right from the start. I get updates as needed, both by phone calls and emails. And tbh, it's refreshing to do business with someone who just hits all the right notes - including listening to me ramble, joking with me, and talking about cars we like. While waiting a few customers arrived and were greeted with care and compassion. They mentioned being repeat customers and mentioned how great the staff was also, Devin was my technician and he went above and beyond to ensure my car had the best care. Overall I was incredibly pleased with the time it took, the attention to detail, and the outstanding customer care! I will continue being a repeat customer and highly recommend!

I had a dreadful experience with David Barbarito, found out his last name on a bill, who treated me in a condensing, disrespectful manner not to mention misrepresenting himself with a false charge$357. On 2/2/26 I went into Firestone located at 1492 Annapolis Rd., Odenton Md. 21113 with a problem with my EVAC system. On that date I was charged $2012.00. I waited SIX hours while they completed the job. The area manager that day was Mr. Lerman, who informed me that the EVAC problem was fixed and "you are good to go." He was professional and courteous. I thanked him and left. On Monday 2/23/26 the evac check engine light came on AGAIN and I went back to Firestone on that day, spoke with Dave Barbarito, who introduced himself as a "visiting manager" as Ms. Roche, Manager was on vacation for the week and would return on Monday 3/2/26. Please note that Dave would not give me an agent ID or ANYTHING to identify himself. It was at this point that I noticed his condescending, misogynistic attitude. When I came back "Sam" told me that "only" the tech that originally attempted to fix it would repair my EVAC, there was no one else to do so. I was concerned because he did not repair my 1014 Jeep Cherokee initially and was assigned to "fix repair" again. When asked for his name, that originally did the job incorrectly, Sam would not provide me with his name. This was the first time I contacted Corp and was given a case #2954674. Later that day, I called again spoke to Mr. Lerman who stated that Mr. Tek (sp?) who was the original mechanic's supervisor and he would "fix the error" and to come in on Monday 2/23/26 @ 9:00 AM. My appointment on 2/23/26 at 9:00 AM for "Mr. Tek" to handle the repair. On 2/23/26, Mr "Tek" was 1 1/2 hours late for work and Dave refused to contact him and see what the problem was and I was told to "sit there and wait for him or leave" would not give me an ETA . I waited for 1 1/2 hours for Tek to arrive and I told Dave that I'd like to speak to him, when he did come on and was told by Dave, that "that won't happen, but feel free to sit and wait "endlessly". Was irritated that Sam gave me a false statement stating only the one/original mechanic could fix it. I was also told 3x that Mr. Dwight, Regional mgt would contact me and HAS NOT EVEN ATTEMPTED TO DO SO. When I came in on 2/23/25, Dave was irritated that I had found out about Mr. Tek and it was obvious the way he treated me. On 3/23/26 I waited FIVE hours and at the end of the day was told that there was NO PROBLEM with the EVAC (even though the code came up again) however Dave did diagnostics, and "discovered that" my catalytic convertor, left side was bad AND the right side "looked like it was headed the same way and "needed replacement" handing me a bill for $4300. I was taken aback by this and Dave immediately lowered the price to $4000, stating "I am your friend and will take care of this for you." PLEASE note that during the FIVE hours that I waited the EVAC system error WAS NEVER LOOKED, nor fixed and was told that system was fine. I left and immediately went to my private mechanic, Manny and Son's who ordered/installed a "PURGE VALVE" for $161, see attachment. When I came back to Firestone on Wednesday 3/25/25 Dave told me, once again in a condescending, misogynistic voice that "I told you Monday 3/23/26 that you needed a purge valve and had to order it "free of charge and stall it." FALSE STATMENT, Dave NEVER mentioned a Purge Valve and that he needed to order and install for no charge. I was amazed and said to him, "why would I go to my mechanic and pay for a purge valve and pay to have it installed if you had told me that?" He had no answer. I told him that the car just had a full inspection with my oil change and there's was nothing wrong. However, he claimed he could fix it for 400 bucks. Upon a re inspection by a more credible place I was shown and told that the item that he said needed repairing was perfectly fine. The vehicle was brought back to seven oaks to confront him and he immediately got defensive and would not talk to me. He refuses to show me exactly where he seen leaking. Needless to say this guy is a ripoff and a disgrace to fellow veterans and the small business owners.

Avoid this place at all costs…read more Brought my 2 years new car to get inspected because I had to register in MD. Somehow he managed to find a broken piece on the car and failed it. Keep in mind the part that was broken on my 2014 was a piece that doesn't go bad on cars for yeaaaarrrrrssss or 100k miles!! I have 20k on mine.. The whole situation was VERY sketchy especially when I was waiting, I heard a loud sound - looked over and he was under the part that was broken. Funny how that happened. He told me he could fix it right there for $250 and that any place else will charge me double. Luckily I have a 5 yr warrantee on the car bc I bought it brand new. I got it fixed at the dealership (they as well were shocked that this piece was broken). I brought it back to this auto shop to have the re inspection done. Then he tells me no because I had to come back only on tuesdays(?) for reinspecitons and he couldn't help me- even though he had no cars in the garages. And he claims he told me that which he definitely didn't. STAY AWAY
