I've been ordering back to back shrimp scampi for the past year bc it is my favorite dish. I've only ordered through Uber Eats ever and never sat down in the restaurant itself due to a long line of college students. I ordered this dish 2 days in a row and the proportion of pasta is ridiculous. Never ever has this ever happened to me. For $30 prior to these last 2 days they have been service half of a container!!!???? For $30. A cheap pizza shop up the street up the street would overwhelm you with pasta for $20 or less. Is there a damn shortage on a $1 dollar pasta box?!! What the hell is going on!?. This is crazy work to me and the only answer they could provide to me is to take it up with Uber Eats! What does Uber Eats have to do with you packing my order. When I ordered this dish it would be filled to the brim that the dish is would last 2 days to eat. An authentic italian restaurant would never serve such a small portion for $30 friggin dollars! This is unacceptable. The manager that was dressed as Velma on Halloween night was totally out of pocket and accused us of something we did not do. We called for a reservation a week in advance and had a nice dinner but later on put our empty drink on a table next to us. We were later accused of being rude to the guests for putting our drink on the table and were asked to leave without being able to explain ourselves. Velma chick was extremely rude and unprofessional and kicked us out for doing nothing. I hope she can learn from this experience and never make a paying customer uncomfortable again. The manager Ella, was great. She actually checked and made accommodations. Our waitress Sophie can use some training. Was honestly not super impressed by Capo which was disappointing because I feel as though it's a southie staple. My friends and I (7 of us) went for the all you can eat pasta and comedy on Wednesdays. The deal is $30 for unlimited pasta and you can mix and match pastas. The comedy in the basement is also free. We made a reservation and were seated at a really wobbly table. When we asked to change, the person said they had to check with the host upstairs, but never came back down. It was a while before we saw our sever, we put in our pasta and drinks at the same time. The pasta took a while to come out. I had gotten the carbonara pasta as my first pasta, and it was a really big serving compared to my friends who had gotten the tortellini or the ravioli. It was really good though. I had also gotten the Mediterranean G&T which I thought was just an over priced Gin and tonic. Once we got our first round of pasta our sever had us put in our second round because of how long it was taking. It was another hour before our second round of pasta came out. It was clearly rushed as some of my friends pastas were still really hard. It was not even worth it for us to put in a third round. Overall it wasn't the most enjoyable experience. The pasta was good and for $30 dollars it's worth it if you get at least two rounds because most of the pastas are $25 anyway. If you have a few hours to kill you might be able to get a third round. The comedy was also something else, a lot of different comedians that we're on for a really short period of time. I think I would rather sit upstairs the next time. read more

Every Tuesday is gluten-free night! If you are gluten-free, and in the Boston area, you absolutely must go. You can get everything from the bread, pizza, pasta, fried items, all gluten-free that evening. My understanding is that they do the deep clean the day before that's why everything can be gluten-free and there is no wheat in the oven. The meatballs are my favorite! Capo is absolutely incredible. I have ordered the Black Truffle and Mushroom Risotto, the Eggplant Parmigiana, the garlic bread, the Tiramisu, uncountable times. The every time, I have been delighted and my dietary restrictions, dietary limitations and preparation instructions have always been considered. I have ordered the Shrimp Scampi this time, and once again the Tiramisu. I reccomend Capo if you are wanting for the authentic Italian cuisine, the imported pasta that persons with complications with gluten have possible to enjoy, and an incredible experience. Let's start from the beginning, I went there when it opened and several other times before the pandemic. Back then I noticed the quality went significantly down. Last night I returned first time after the pandemic and it was very disappointing. I ordered a pizza margherita and they fucked up big time. Number 1 that is not a Roman style pizza as the claimed in the menu. Two the tomato sauce was mediocre and tart. Three they put way too much basil on the pizza. Lastly, there wasn't mozzarella. When I made a 6:30 reservation downstairs was told music wouldn't start until 8:00. At 7:00 the loud music started. We were able to move our group away from the stage. Food arrived at 8:30. Daughter's meal was ice cold. We waited another 30 minutes and still no meal for her Were told kitchen was very busy and we had to "get back in line". Staff was generally friendly but the situation was unacceptable. They comped us the meal we never received and a bottle of champagne we had for our graduation "celebration which wasn't enough to make up for a ruined evening. If you're gluten free and visiting Boston, you absolutely need to make your way to Capo on a Tuesday night. They start you off with complimentary gf bread and oil. We ordered the polenta fries as an appetizer - incredible. For entrees, we did the eggplant Parmesan and the Alfredo - both were so so so good, but the Alfredo won the night. My brother (an absolute foodie) recommended this spot, and we wanted to see what the hype was about. Unfortunately, I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could- the food was fine, but nothing show-stopping. But the restaurant gets crowded and VERY loud from the bar goers, especially since we went on a Saturday night (people start early these days!). I can't speak to the back of the restaurant, but we were seated at a high top right next to the bar, and groups were leaning on our table, moving it, and leaving their drinks. Not my kind of crowd. Meatballs- our favorite dish of the night. They're hearty and stay together. Wonderful flavor and texture in a generous serving. The bread was a little over-charred but not off putting. Olives- very standard and not disappointing. Nicely warm when served. Short rib croquettes- very light and perfectly crispy. Some bites were a little too salty for my taste and the short rib didn't really come through, but overall still one of the better dishes we had. Prosciutto wrapped figs- terrible, just terrible. The prosciutto was cooked to a crisp and lost all its flavor. If you had told me it was bacon I would have believed you. The figs were tasteless, but the balsamic helped make up for all its shortcomings. Really missed the mark on flavor altogether. Would NOT recommend. Sausage cavatelli- really buttery, the pasta was wonderfully al dente and chewy, but the sauce wasn't my favorite. Rigatoni bolognese- another really solid dish. The sauce was substantial, just enough cheese on top, and a generous serving. The pasta was al dente, but texture could have been better. I'd love to give this spot another try, maybe during a different time of day or different day of the week. read more

The service at this restaurant is terrible! I made a reservation several weeks prior for 10 people for dinner. We were seated immediately; however, it deteriorated from there. It took over 1.5 hours to receive our food. The server refused to give us bread. Then, when we insisted on speaking to the manager, he said he could only provide 25% off the check. He did not offer any appetizers as we continued to wait 1.5 hours. The food was fine when we ended up getting it. It was a terrible experience, and the hospitality was beyond awful.
