Food here is consistently tasty. Very nice cozy atmosphere. Drinks are excellent especially seasonal pumpkin espresso martini! Our waitress for my friends birthday was sweet and accommodated our large group with professionalism and kindness.
We attended the 2nd dinner show. We were surprised how lovely the room looked. A throwback what may have been in the fifties and sixties when this style was popular. The band was great. The performance was exceptional. We sang along, heard all the popular tunes from the original entertainer's large portfolio. The group was very interactive with the audience. The food was delicious. No one at the table finished their meal, as it was so big! We are planning on taking some of our older relatives to an afternoon show soon. And the show is free! The menu is the same as if you eat upstairs in the restaurant. Very very reasonable prices. Go. Go. Go.
I was skeptical as the Yelp reviews don't reflect Capo in the best light...but you know what? I had a generally great experience. We came for Wednesday night bingo in the supper club. Bingo was a total blast (even though I didn't come close to winning--not even once). On Wednesdays they also do bottomless pasta...which allegedly is only allowed upstairs. So I had chicken piccata and my bf had bottomless pasta (hope no one gets in trouble) The portion of chicken piccata was large and it was delicious. I would 100% come back for the chicken piccata. I obviously tasted each of the pastas my bf ordered. The pasta itself is homemade and fabulous. Some of the sauces were over seasoned. Overall, a great way to try a little of everything and a great deal. I used to go to Olive Garden in college for the never ending pasta bowl and this feels like the grownup version. The service was extremely slow. But we were playing bingo (which started late). It goes to show that if you offer the proper distraction, certain service factors become less important! We arrived right at 6:30 and no one was there. The basement filled up over the next 30 min. It was dark, but just a fun and chill vibe. Im looking forward to going back.
So pleasantly surprised with Capo! I've know Capo for being a fun bar to go out at, but this is the first time I've been able to try the food. As a sister restaurant to Prima I had high expectations and it definitely met those expectations. We tried three apps the calamari, honeybuns, and Arancini. They were all very good, a must is the arancini and the honeybuns they were delish. The Calamari breading was fantastic but the calamari itself was a little chewy. Our mains were all very good I had the salmon and it was such a unique flavor I really loved it. The penne al la vodka was also excellent one of the best I've had in boston, top it with Burrata. The chicken Marsala was huge, it was delish, but I definitely don't think you need pasta with it, it didn't really add anything. Overall great dinner!
You must go for their Sinatra Sunday! They have a great band performing from 5:30 to 8 in their downstairs area. It is a bit tight in there, especially if you are closer to the front, but it's a very lively space. Our server was very nice and as attentive as she could be with a packed house, but service dipped a bit as the night went on. The show had ended, and we had to wait another 20 minutes and hunt down our server to pay and be able to leave. The food, however, was delicious. I had the sausage cavatelli, and shared their calamari and bruschetta and really enjoyed it. I also liked their Rosato Spritz
Super cute restaurant with delectable food. I had the spicy lobster linguine and wish I could have it again! We also got a side of carrots and beets which were seasoned well and cooked to the perfect texture. The decor and ambiance make it a great spot for date night, though it does lean a bit on the noisier side.
Service and ambiance were great! Nice environment with great food and drinks. Loves the vodka alla penne.
Great Italian spot in Southie. You Definitely get a experience depending on the time of day you go, for example us on a Saturday night and it was packed line out the door filled your typical southie resident. To the service, waitress was super kind warning us food was taking a bit long that night, but there was hardly a noticeable delay in anything. Drinks at the table were a hit especially the espresso martinis. Garlic bread was great just wish had a second portion, and the calimari tasted fresh, interested fry to it but we all liked it. The biggest hit was the chicken parm, subbed for a spicy vodka sauce. Huge portion almost covered the plate, that they served the pasta on a second plate. Pasta was good, cooked al dente if that's your thing. Great atmosphere, love the looked and aesthetic. If I were to go back definitely would do a different time of day
Buono! A beautiful Italian restaurant in Southie. Whoever designed this place did an excellent job with the mosaic tile floors, light fixtures and wood work to give it a modern "Al Capone era" vibe. My husband and I came here for an early dinner with friends. We started with calamari and meatballs. The calamari was fried in a very unique batter that I was not a fan of but everyone else at the table liked it. But I was a fan of the meatballs; large, soft and swimming in a delicious sauce! For my entree, I ordered the cacio e pepe. I always prefer long pasta over short, but this one was great regardless. My only complaint is I wish the portion size was bigger as I licked my plate clean! My husband ordered a pasta dish with something called "Sunday gravy" and it was phenomenal! I took one bite and immediately regretted not ordering the same thing! We will definitely be back :)
Well. What a monumental failure tonight at Capo restaurant from our 5 star experience recently at their downstairs Supper Club. It was that experience that led me to suggest that we should dine upstairs to enjoy the same fine dining. The atmosphere was great. Lots of seating possibilities... we asked for a booth that had a table that didn't move, so we both narrowly slid in and just barely made it. Our waitress (Erin B) was quick to greet us and my wife had a chance to chat with the GM (Mike) prior to our ordering as she had met him at the Supper Club event a few Sundays ago. For a beverage, I ordered an Old Fashioned and my wife wanted a double Espresso. Decent, not great. My wife wanted to try some apps so she ordered two different from our last trip. Arancini and Chicken croquettes. Nicely presented but overcooked and not very hot upon arrival. Hmmm. So, they are known, and we were very much looking forward to the homemade pasta all made in house. Erin returned to take our Entree order. My wife (Italian) ordered "Clam scampi over linguine" and I spotted a new item we were told, a broiled Duck Breast with carrots, broiled potatoes and beets along with a side of pasta (spaghetti) with a butter sauce. Felt like a solid set of choices. As folks started arriving at 6-6:30, my wife mentioned that "doesn't it feel like a while since we ordered". I had my iPhone on the table taking pictures and noticed it was 25 minutes since we ordered. I was feeling like a Red Flag might be at work and caught Erin to check on our order. Within minutes later the food arrived. My wife started and I looked at my plate and the side order of pasta and everything was not hot, not warm and, the butter had solidified on my pasta. The duck was sliced poorly, but room temperature along with the pasta. Erin saw that I was having an issue and quickly offered to take it back in the kitchen for a fix. While I waited, my wife noted that hers was barely lukewarm but she continued. Both the duck and the pasta came back to the table and, it was only lukewarm at best. Erin noted that on Sunday, the head chef heads to the Supper Club to oversee the dinners being delivered and that his replacement was on duty. And she told us that others were sending food back. A floor manager came over asking if he could make it right and I agreed. He returned 5 minutes later and said "Chef just put my order in the 800 degree pizza oven??? What??? And I looked at the with great distain and burned my two fingers on the damn hot plate moving it closer. The duck and pasta were now burnt to shit. I was DONE NOW, having lost my appetite. I asked Erin to take it away (sorry no pictures of this since I was occupied trying to get a decent meal) and asked her to please get me a glass of Pinot and the dessert menu. My wife only had, maybe a third of her plate and I asked her what she thought about the dish... "maybe a 7, at best she said" and had no interest in eating any further. She wanted to leave. Erin felt really bad about our experience... suggesting that we come back "during the week days"!!!????? What???? The GM comped our (my) drinks and we had a $66 tab. Erin was great, left her a generous cash tip and squeezed our way out. The place was rocking as we left with people waiting to be seated and a HUGE take out service going on. So... don't go there on Sundays. Maybe we'll go back. A big maybe. Or try their sister restaurant "Capri" located in a different part of Boston. It's been over a decade since I sent my food back. It was a very bad experience. Try the Supper Club... that's where the best food is served on Sundays. Sadly... and still hungry tonight but some great leftovers in the fridge to heat up!!!
I really like Capo - the food is consistently delicious every time I go, this time was a little different. We got the Sicilian Oregano Ciabatta to start - I will say that this normally comes out better, the basil pesto was just straight grinded up basil with no real flavor (it used to come with a chickpea dip that was amazing) so that was a bit disappointing. We also got the meatball appetizer which was good but nothing to write home about. I will start with the Shortrib Alfredo Casacrecce - I enjoyed the Alfredo sauce but the short rib was just one piece on top, I would have preferred it more incorporated in the dish. Then we got the Rigatoni Bolognese which you can never really go wrong with a Bolognese so that was an 8/10. For entrees, we got the Scallops Saltimbocca - I did not try that as I am not a seafood person but the table said it was good. Now for the star of the show ... the Brick Chicken was AMAZING - such good flavor, great portion size and they should never take this off the menu. For drinks we just did wine so nothing too crazy to review on. My only complaint every time I go here is that is overpriced for the portion sizes you are getting.
We had dinner before a night out downstairs and it was great! The bread is an absolute must... so yummy and warm. Fun ambiance and good service.
I love the ambiance of Capo, especially during the Christmas time. It's moody, cozy, and lively. I came for the all you can eat pasta on a Wednesday night = $32 for bottomless pasta that most of their pasta menu (waygu and lobster pasta are a surcharge). Most pastas at capo range from $24-28 so for the price i think this is a pretty good deal. The kitchen was slammed upon arrival and service was preoccupied but overall i still think they were relatively efficient given the demand. None of the pastas really blew my mind, personal favorites were the tortellini, shrimp scampi, and Bolognese - but thought everything else was just alright. I do think for the size and flavor if i were to order any of these dishes at regular price I would be a bit disappointed. We made it through four rounds before tapping out. Overall a fun experience but I wouldn't expect stellar food.

Came here for gluten free Tuesday dinner (in June) when my sister was with my helping me move. Sad to have already moved never knowing this place existed. We searched and found it because of the gluten free menu. My sister has celiac. Ok so the caccio e Pepe was divinity. Divinity. Like I'll never enjoy the Trader Joe's sauce ever again. Not sure how "authentic" it is or isn't but I want to make a cacio e Pepe like that. Holy moly. And that was gluten free. Imagine how much better it is with regular pasta ;) The pizzas were great. We got cheese and pepperoni. Crust was pretty good. Cheese was flavorful. We got a cheesecake to go. It was very rich and delicious. It survived our hour plus commute back to Brookline on a delayed train in extreme heat. The pizza served as good leftover meals for my poor celiac sister. Recommend a million times. read more

Capo is normally one of my favorite restaurants, but I was disappointed this time. The sausage cavatelli was delicious, but the brown butter tortellini was way too sweet to be enjoyable. The bread was delish as always and the dip it comes with now it very tasty. The food runners and bussers gave amazing service but our waitress forgot a drink and barely checked on it - we waited for our check for over 20 minutes. We also didn't get sat until 8:40 and our reservation was at 8:15. I love capo and will be back, but this time was just a little disappointing. read more

A friend and I went here for drinks on a Wednesday night. The service was AMAZING! Honestly probably some of the best I've had here in Boston. I feel like Capo is great for a fun dinner with friends or a date night. I got the bolognese and my friend got the vodka sauce. She would argue their vodka sauce is one of the top in the city. We also both enjoyed their seasonal pumpkin espresso martini. Overall I would return again. I hear they have night life and am intrigued to experience it read more

Appetizers - 4/5 Main course - 3/5 Dessert - 5/5 We accidentally landed on a gluten free night, so most of the menu items were... gluten free. Their toasted bread and Brussels sprouts were great. We tried a bunch of different pastas and they were ok, but nothing to write home about. Desserts (especially the cheesecake) were amazing. If you're a larger group - get the cannoli board and make your own cannolis. Our server Josh was great and took great care of our group. I'd say for the money, it was a good experience, but nothing to write home about (food wise). read more

Ordered the Margarita and the chicken parm. Both were completely burnt and gross. Actually, the pizza was somehow undercooked on the bottom and burnt on the other half. If you're too busy to deal with orders maybe turn off online ordering? Great job cutting the pizza btw read more

Capo in South Boston is truly a neighborhood gem. Italian food at its absolute best. Chef Ciron, a proud Sicilian, clearly knows exactly what he's doing. My personal favorite is the Wagyu beef carpaccio, elevated to brilliance with black truffle and Japanese dashi vinaigrette, a flavor combination that delivers layers of umami and proves his genius. The cacio e pepe instantly transported me back to Rome, while the sweet corn ravioli, sourced locally, reminded me of summer in Boston. Every dish feels like a story that bridges tradition and creativity. Service is consistently on point--warm, attentive, and perfectly balanced between professional and personal. Leadership at Capo sets the standard, and you feel it in every detail of the experience. Beyond the food, the vibe is unbeatable: fun events every night that make it not just a restaurant, but a destination. If you haven't been yet, Capo is the kind of place you absolutely cannot miss. Bold flavors, heartfelt hospitality, and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back--this is South Boston's culinary crown jewel. read more

I went in with a large party for a birthday. We made reservations a week prior. We were seated right away. The food was really good. My favorite dishes were the bruschetta and the black truffle pizza. The pumpkin espresso martinis were seasonal and were very good. I will definitely come here again for more food. read more
Southy has some incredible restaurants, this time around in Boston I found out they are mostly under the same ownership group! Capo is on that list! This is an interesting bar because it starts out as a nice sit down Italian restaurant and if you stay long enough, you will find yourself in a fresh out of college bar with a DJ. Great place for a decent meal and a fun vibe after the fact. The also have some of the nicest restrooms I've seen for a bar, major blessing if you venture out late nights. read more

Went for a birthday dinner at the supper club on a saturday. The live music was super fun and it started getting a crowd around 8:30/9 for the nightlife rather than just dinner. Our waitress Niki was so lovely and adorable. The drinks were all yummy. we really liked the lemon cello crush. The brussels were amazing and we loved that they could do gluten free pasta. My friend and I even shared a pasta dish and it was enough food. I will say if you get the cacio e pepe just know that it has fennel. read more

Capo was a fun, energetic Italian restaurant in South End! The ambience is very lively and if you're looking for a place to have some drinks and food with loud music, this is your spot. Our server Kate was great! She was so personable and gave great recommendations. We got the caprese and meatballs to start. The caprese was refreshing but I was a little letdown when the mozzarella was the tiny balls. The meatballs were great and they gave you a good portion. My bf got the vodka pasta with sausage and broccoli which was great. I got the shrimp scampi. The scampi was good but a little too garlicy for my liking. Then after the dinner our server gave us each a glass of lemonchello to clear out pallets which was really nice. Fun place with pretty good food! read more
My friend and I came on a Tuesday for their almost entirely GF menu. Because of my friend's celiac disease, there's very few places that offer such an extensive menu. Concerned about it being busy we made reservations but quickly found out they were not necessary since we arrived right as they opened. For drinks and appetizer, we got their Toasted coconut expresso martini and Sauvignon Blanc. The whipped cream on top of the martini was delicious enough on its own! We shared a Prosciutto & Burrata which came with some thin crackers on the side. The berries offered bites of tartness with the creamy cheese and salty meat. Entrees were the Radiatori Alfredo GF and Rigatoni Alla Vodka GF. The Alfredo was creamy and rich. The rigatoni was delicious as well! If I ate these blind folded I would never have guessed it's gluten free. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. Service was top notch and the food was a perfect match. It's a beautiful and open establishment that it both classy and casual. I would love to bring more of my friends here! read more

Went to dinner on Sinatra Sunday at the Supper Club (Capo basement) and the atmosphere was amazing! Our waitress was very attentive and kind as well. Will come again! read more
Amazing food and ambiance and karaoke at Capo!! We went on a Thursday night for dinner and karaoke. We were lucky and found free street parking very close to the restaurant. It seems they also have a free parking lot across the street. The restaurant is beautiful as soon as you walk inside. Tall ceilings, cozy lighting, expansive space. Downstairs there's a bar and additional seating and a stage. We were with a group that got a table downstairs. I ordered the branzino and shrimp entree and the hubs ordered the sausage cavatelli. Bit dishes were great! The branzino dish came with plenty of shrimp, prosciutto and lots of veggies which I loved! Tomatoes, artichokes, and large white beans. Very tasty, and hearty dish, full of yummy flavors. Filling and satisfying. Hubs liked his pasta dish. Both portions were great and for the price of $28 each, quite reasonable. We did karaoke which was a lot of fun! They have the Karafun system so you can request songs on the app and they also show the sequence of songs coming up on the screen. There was a huge crowd of what seemed like college students and some of whom looked like regulars. The DJs Matty and his friend were both great. Hes a good singer and also sang some songs along with the patrons. Overall great food, amazing ambience, decent service and fun karaoke. Will be back for sure! read more

Capo was a great spot for a girls night dinner! The restaurant is much bigger than expected but I would still recommend reservations. The interior is beautiful, classic yet modern. You enjoy live music at the speakeasy upstairs at their "Supper Club" too. The homemade sourdough was soft, flavorful and paired well with the olive oil mixture. We tried out the sausage cavatelli and sausage penne al forno. Both vodka sauces (one spicy and one not) were full of flavor. The sausage tasted fresh and had a nice texture to balance the soft pillowy pasta. Server was extremely friendly throughout the meal and drinks were reasonably priced for Boston. The only downside is lack of parking and the restaurant was a bit loud and dark. Would definitely return. read more

Went on Thanksgiving for their prix fixe menu. Food was so good!! Our server Isa was the kindest! I would've preferred sitting in a booth over the barstool tables in the middle but the restaurant itself had an amazing vibe! read more
Went for bottomless pasta on Wednesday. Realistically you can probably try 2 dishes, since the first dish must be full and afterwards they're half portions. Every time I've gone I've never ordered more than the 2nd rounds. Still pretty worth it since bottomless is a couple bucks more than the pasta, but to be honest I barely ate the second round. On top of that, I found the pastas pretty bland. The rigatoni was very basic (2/5) and not much depth of flavor. Cacio e Pepe was slightly better because of the meatballs. (3/5) sauce is extremely heavy though. Probably wouldn't come for bottomless again. read more

Came here because I heard they have bottomless pasta Wednesdays! The place first off was an absolutely beautiful establishment that was huge and will have to go back for their underground area! The pasta was high quality and delicious! I ended up getting a bolognese (first plate is a full plate), then the vodka pasta, and finished off with the corn ravioli! I think the order in which I liked them is the order I got them, respectively but they were all amazing! Such a steal idea if you can eat at least two plates already! Would recommend checking it out! read more

Can you keep a secret? Every Sunday a magical portal opens at Capo's and Sinatra appears! This is such a unique and fun dining experience. I took my 11 year old here for his birthday and he had an absolute blast dancing the night away with the great music. The band is amazing. The food is also delicious with a great menu guaranteed to please everyone in the group. My little guy even got a back stage pass to take a picture with the lead singer. If you want to head there for a magical Sinatra Sunday, I strongly suggest a reservation way ahead of time! read more

A fun place to be on a Wednesday night! They were hosting bingo and stand-up comedy, and it was truly dinner and a show. The ambiance and crowd were good along with the service, but the food was alright. I wish I ordered something different because the risotto I got was flavorless. Two of us have celiac and we are ridiculously sensitive. Our family visited Capo in South Boston tonight for our daughter's 22nd birthday. It was gluten free Tuesday which meant that everything on the menu was gluten free. So many options that it was hard to choose. Very large portions. From appetizers to entrees and desserts, everything was excellent. Our 3 non-celiac guests loved their meals as well. Highly recommend! (She made reservations a few weeks ahead of time. Parking was challenging, but there is a small lot across the street. The food, ambiance, service, entire experience was well worth it!) read more

The restaurant is so cozy and full of life with Christmas decorations at this time of year. We started off with a pumpkin espresso martini that was to die for! It wasn't over the top pumpkin and the homemade cream on top really made the drink. All of our entrees were fresh and perfectly cooked! I had the bolognese which had lots of meat and thick penne-like noodles. We loved everything about this restaurant. Downstairs, they even have a night club in the basement. It looked like they were line dancing when we peeked downstairs! read more
