Went for a birthday dinner at the supper club on a saturday. The live music was super fun and it started getting a crowd around 8:30/9 for the nightlife rather than just dinner. Our waitress Niki was so lovely and adorable. The drinks were all yummy. we really liked the lemon cello crush. The brussels were amazing and we loved that they could do gluten free pasta. This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had, especially for a milestone event. We chose Capo to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday specifically because of their Wednesday bottomless pasta night. We made a reservation expecting a smooth and special evening. When we arrived, we were told we would have to wait about an hour and a half despite having a reservation. Instead of honoring what we booked, we were sent downstairs where there was a loud bingo night happening. The atmosphere was chaotic and completely inappropriate for a birthday celebration -- we couldn't even sing "Happy Birthday" for my daughter. To make matters worse, after we were already seated downstairs, we were told that the bottomless pasta was not available in that area. That was the ONLY reason my daughter chose Capo in the first place. When I called and spoke to the manager, I was told the wait upstairs was still over an hour, even after we had already been waiting and moved around. There was no effort to accommodate us, no solution offered, and no concern shown for ruining a very important night for our family. This experience showed extremely poor communication, poor management, and complete disregard for customers -- especially those celebrating something meaningful. I would never return and absolutely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Put me on a waitlist to get downstairs and then made me wait for 2 hours so I tried to see if anyone was going downstairs and I saw 30 people go downstairs so I went to the host stand and questioned that and then because they didn't have an answer they kicked me out. Then they tried to gaslight me into saying that there was no way to view the waitlist even though they texted me a link to view the wait list!!! They proceeded to call me stupid and drunk when I was trying to have a civilized conversation with them. Absolutely terrible service. I'm never going back. read more

Southy has some incredible restaurants, this time around in Boston I found out they are mostly under the same ownership group! Capo is on that list! This is an interesting bar because it starts out as a nice sit down Italian restaurant and if you stay long enough, you will find yourself in a fresh out of college bar with a DJ. Great place for a decent meal and a fun vibe after the fact. The also have some of the nicest restrooms I've seen for a bar, major blessing if you venture out late nights. read more

Went for bottomless pasta on Wednesday. Realistically you can probably try 2 dishes, since the first dish must be full and afterwards they're half portions. Every time I've gone I've never ordered more than the 2nd rounds. Still pretty worth it since bottomless is a couple bucks more than the pasta, but to be honest I barely ate the second round. On top of that, I found the pastas pretty bland. The rigatoni was very basic (2/5) and not much depth of flavor. Cacio e Pepe was slightly better because of the meatballs. (3/5) sauce is extremely heavy though. Probably wouldn't come for bottomless again. read more

I love this place but we got sick from the food at our last visit. My suggestion is avoid the Tuna Taretare because it was delish but as soon as we ate it things went very south for me. Capo was a great spot for a girls night dinner! The restaurant is much bigger than expected but I would still recommend reservations. The interior is beautiful, classic yet modern. You enjoy live music at the speakeasy upstairs at their "Supper Club" too. The homemade sourdough was soft, flavorful and paired well with the olive oil mixture. We tried out the sausage cavatelli and sausage penne al forno. Both vodka sauces (one spicy and one not) were full of flavor. The sausage tasted fresh and had a nice texture to balance the soft pillowy pasta. Server was extremely friendly throughout the meal and drinks were reasonably priced for Boston. The only downside is lack of parking and the restaurant was a bit loud and dark. Would definitely return. read more

Capo was a fun, energetic Italian restaurant in South End! The ambience is very lively and if you're looking for a place to have some drinks and food with loud music, this is your spot. Our server Kate was great! She was so personable and gave great recommendations. We got the caprese and meatballs to start. The caprese was refreshing but I was a little letdown when the mozzarella was the tiny balls. The meatballs were great and they gave you a good portion. My bf got the vodka pasta with sausage and broccoli which was great. I got the shrimp scampi. The scampi was good but a little too garlicy for my liking. Can you keep a secret? Every Sunday a magical portal opens at Capo's and Sinatra appears! This is such a unique and fun dining experience. I took my 11 year old here for his birthday and he had an absolute blast dancing the night away with the great music. The band is amazing. The food is also delicious with a great menu guaranteed to please everyone in the group. My little guy even got a back stage pass to take a picture with the lead singer. My friend and I came on a Tuesday for their almost entirely GF menu. Because of my friend's celiac disease, there's very few places that offer such an extensive menu. Concerned about it being busy we made reservations but quickly found out they were not necessary since we arrived right as they opened. For drinks and appetizer, we got their Toasted coconut expresso martini and Sauvignon Blanc. The whipped cream on top of the martini was delicious enough on its own! We shared a Prosciutto & Burrata which came with some thin crackers on the side. The berries offered bites of tartness with the creamy cheese and salty meat. Entrees were the Radiatori Alfredo GF and Rigatoni Alla Vodka GF. The Alfredo was creamy and rich. The rigatoni was delicious as well! If I ate these blind folded I would never have guessed it's gluten free. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. Service was top notch and the food was a perfect match. Two of us have celiac and we are ridiculously sensitive. Our family visited Capo in South Boston tonight for our daughter's 22nd birthday. It was gluten free Tuesday which meant that everything on the menu was gluten free. So many options that it was hard to choose. Very large portions. Amazing food and ambiance and karaoke at Capo!! We went on a Thursday night for dinner and karaoke. We were lucky and found free street parking very close to the restaurant. It seems they also have a free parking lot across the street. The restaurant is beautiful as soon as you walk inside. Tall ceilings, cozy lighting, expansive space. Downstairs there's a bar and additional seating and a stage. We were with a group that got a table downstairs. I ordered the branzino and shrimp entree and the hubs ordered the sausage cavatelli. Bit dishes were great! The branzino dish came with plenty of shrimp, prosciutto and lots of veggies which I loved! Tomatoes, artichokes, and large white beans. Very tasty, and hearty dish, full of yummy flavors. Filling and satisfying. Hubs liked his pasta dish. Both portions were great and for the price of $28 each, quite reasonable. We did karaoke which was a lot of fun! They have the Karafun system so you can request songs on the app and they also show the sequence of songs coming up on the screen. There was a huge crowd of what seemed like college students and some of whom looked like regulars. The DJs Matty and his friend were both great. We ate here recently when visiting because a local recommended it. (I find that so odd now...) Dinner was alright. Three of us shared the Brussel sprouts and the figs to start. We didn't really care for the figs but the Brussels were really good and there was a lot of them. I had sausage penne al forno for my entree. I didn't care for it. The portion was huge but the penne noodles were so over cooked that they reminded me of school lunches as a kid. My BF had a filet and he said it was pretty good. Our friend had the salmon and she said everything on her plate was too salty. I'm giving it 3 stars because our server was great, the interior of the restaurant is really nice, and they had some NA beer selections which wasn't super common in Boston. It has been almost fifteen years since I've had half of the things that were on offer and in those fifteen years, all of the ones I have had were made in my own kitchen. After talking with the staff and getting an understanding of what gluten free night means, I took the leap and ordered. Choosing was so difficult with so many things on the menu; I'm usually relegated to that side salad and reminding someone that croutons are, in fact, made from bread. We over-ordered and wound up with enough food to handle the next day and maybe more. For me, the garlic bread, tuna crudo, and the parm were stand-outs among what made it to our table, which was a lot. I've only ordered through Uber Eats ever and never sat down in the restaurant itself due to a long line of college students. I ordered this dish 2 days in a row and the proportion of pasta is ridiculous. Never ever has this ever happened to me. For $30 prior to these last 2 days they have been service half of a container!!!???? For $30. A cheap pizza shop up the street up the street would overwhelm you with pasta for $20 or less. Is there a damn shortage on a $1 dollar pasta box?!! What the hell is going on!?. This is crazy work to me and the only answer they could provide to me is to take it up with Uber Eats! What does Uber Eats have to do with you packing my order. When I ordered this dish it would be filled to the brim that the dish is would last 2 days to eat. An authentic italian restaurant would never serve such a small portion for $30 friggin dollars! This is unacceptable. The manager that was dressed as Velma on Halloween night was totally out of pocket and accused us of something we did not do. We called for a reservation a week in advance and had a nice dinner but later on put our empty drink on a table next to us. We were later accused of being rude to the guests for putting our drink on the table and were asked to leave without being able to explain ourselves. Velma chick was extremely rude and unprofessional and kicked us out for doing nothing. I hope she can learn from this experience and never make a paying customer uncomfortable again.
