Great place - food and service! Started with a cup of clam chowder: big chunks of clams and some diced veggies. The cup was big enough to share. Both my husband and I ordered the #9: 1 piece of cod, 2 prawns, and 2 oysters. Just enough breading and very lightly friend. The chips were nice wedges of potatoes with the skin on! Craving GIANT portions of fresh, deep fried seafood that's easy on your wallet then look no further! You'll be seated promptly and given a laminated menu. My friend and I shared an order of fried mushrooms served with ranch. These mushrooms were whole, huge, and so very JUICY. Beware that while exteriors are perfectly crispy, not at all greasy, nor hot to the touch: the water trapped inside each one truly is! I strongly suggest letting each cap rest in the bath of cool ranch dressing for a minute before biting into them because the juices will begin to flow out immediately and otherwise burn your tongue. Remember you were warned; no seriously be careful!! I ordered the chicken and fish combo basket. It comes with house made coleslaw. I added garlic fries for 0.75 cents more; and oh, yes it was so worth it. No garlic powder here; just fresh minced garlic poured over crisp potato wedges. The 2 chicken strips are large flat style that's been lightly seasoned then fried to rich brown color and served with ranch for dipping. But who cares... We all know that the chicken while good is just part of the chorus and you came to see a 5 star show, starring Cape Cod's very own, the beautiful....FRESH FISH! These portions are so HUGE, delicate, and flaky pieces of fish that's not over- battered but served golden brown and costars with a bright wedge of lemon and with an uniquely flavorful FULL bodied tartar sauce, that can not disappoint!! Ask for extra sauce, don't be shy. It goes very great with a Red Trolley ale or two. You'll definitely want to get a separate order to go and you won't want to share with friends, at least I didn't. Come hungry and bring a few friends for added fun and laughs. When you finally get up from your seat, leave the table to pay the tab... This place is the cats meow! Not only do they serve up the traditional fish and chips...they have oysters and chips, mussels and chips, ect. The quality of fish is top notch. The owner who is usually present is a stand up guy. I ordered the oysters and when he found the oysters to be too small he substituted for the more expensive dish. Meh. I went here with my best friend. The staff looked so ho hum but I was there for the food and had heard good things. We sat down and were given the menus. The prices looked pricey but it's seafood and what I would have expected for Fish and Chips. We ordered the Calamari meal and the combination meal with fish, oysters and prawns. The food was fresh. I liked the coleslaw, very good. The "chips" were tasty battered potato wedges.. I think they were frozen but they were tasty and crispy. Now for the main dish. This place really needs to do something about their batter. I mean you're a fish and chips place, add some beer to your batter, some spice, salt, something. The batter was just okay. I can count 5 places including my home that I've tried better calamari. But that's okay, since we came for the fish right? I think the food is fresh but the batter needs to be more flavorful. I feel like if I am going to indulge in an entirely fried meal it should be really flavorful and not need to be bathed in tartar sauce to receive a reaction from my tastebuds. My boy friend and I love fish and chips and were excited to try this local spot out. Unfortunately I was not happy with our first visit. I'm not very picky when it comes to food but I ordered calamari and it was incredibly chewy and tasteless. My boyfriend on the other hand genuinely enjoyed his fish and chips and convinced me to try them out again a few months later. I came in that day hoping I had just ordered the wrong thing last time and was completely willing to give them another shot. Fabulous food. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, perfectly battered...perfect food! We got ours as takeout and even with that - the meal stayed hot and tasty. Sometimes french fries (okay chips in this case) lose something in the travel process- not so these. The fish was non-greasy and it's a generous portion of fish- one piece was more than enough for me- no way could I have done two. The "cook" looked very unhappy and stared. The guy at the counter was nice but I had to ask for everything including flatware not even a "hello" from anyone. There was no Decor. The bathroom was gross. Now onto the food.... They didn't have anymore mozzarella sticks. So I got zucchini sticks. They were good with the ranch. The calamari was a bit chewy. Also tada! One of the best fish and chip restaurants I have gone to and, being British, I have been to many. The fish and chips are smashing and the price is amazingly low for what you get. Their clam chowder is out of this world and the oysters are also great. All of the fish is very fresh and the folks who work there couldn't be nicer. I usually pick my orders up and eat them at home so I give them a call and my order is ready in less than 10 minutes. I thought that there wasn't any place better than my go to spot in Santa Rosa for a good fish&chips meal, but I was wrong; Cape Cod is my new go to place. I had the cod sandwich, and the piece of cod was gigantic, and lightly battered, so I didn't leave feeling like a cow. The chips were amazing, they were fried perfectly, crunchy, just the way I like them, and NOT greasy. I also got the coleslaw which was quite good. The waitress was very nice too. We called in a pick up order and upon arrival we saw the dining room had available tables. We walked in and let the girl behind the register know that we would like to dine in.
