    Family Meal: BBQ beef
    Teri K.

After a long day, we decided to invite the kids over and order the Luau Family Meal (serves 4) . It comes with choice of 3 main items plus 8 scoops of rice and 4 scoops of mac salad. For our protein we decided on: Curry chicken katsu BBQ beef BBQ chicken The server at the counter was thoughtful and brought our food to us when it was ready. The bag sure was heavy! When we got home we served our dinner with a big salad, (hoping to feel a little less guilty for eating so many carbs). The food and service were no different than our first visit. The people here are so friendly, sweet, and helpful. It was dinner hour so there were some families dining inside plus others waiting to order behind us. Glad to see they are doing good business. We all enjoyed our meal and had lots of leftovers after feeding four adults. Our favorite was the mac salad and the curry chicken katsu.

I absolutely love this place for a huge lunch or a great dinner, they serve large portions, The BBQ chicken is so tender and tasty. I first tried the Katsu chicken over a bed of rice, that led me to ordering the BBQ chicken for me and my mom one night. The sauce is the bomb. They even have hamburgers on the menu. This place will definitely fill you up so go hungry.

Beef loco moco with eggs over easy

Luau Hawaiian BBQ in Santa Rosa was a solid stop on my loco moco crusade. It has a warm, family-owned vibe, and you can really taste the care they put into the cooking. The loco moco did not disappoint with the beef patties being juicy and flavorful, the gravy was rich and satisfying, and everything came together perfectly over a couple of scoops of rice with two over easy eggs on top. I also really enjoyed the macaroni salad, which was creamy and well seasoned. I wished they gave a little bit more rice to soak up more of the sauce, so I should have ordered extra. Prices here are very fair, and the service was quick and super friendly. The restaurant is clean with both indoor and outdoor seating, and there's even a bathroom inside which is always appreciated. The parking lot is spacious, and since the plaza has a bunch of other food spots, it's a great place to mix and match if you're grabbing food with friends. While I was eating an early dinner, there was a steady stream of people coming in every few minutes, which tells me this place has a loyal following. If you're in the area or on your own loco moco mission, Luau is definitely worth a stop. Great flavors, welcoming staff, and solid value make it a place I'd happily return to.

Combo with short ribs and fried shrimp

Luau Hawaiian BBQ is a great place if you are craving Hawaiian food in a fast casual environment. The restaurant is in a shopping center, but there was definitely plenty of parking. when we got to the restaurant, we were greeted by the staff and the owner and it was pretty easy to order. The restaurant itself is very clean. I ordered the short rib and fried shrimp combo with the mac salad. The food was great. I think I will order the ribs to be a little bit more well done because I like the charred flavor. Can't wait to come back!

Combo plate with kahlua pork and chicken katsu

I've been trying different Hawaiian food spots for the past few months to find the absolute best. I saw this place had some good reviews so k decided to try it since I was in the area. I got the combo plate with Kalua pork and chicken katsu, plus a side of three fried shrimp. I'll start with the cons; the kalua pork was dry, making it hard to eat. The three shrimp looked big but unfortunately the batter to shrimp ratio was way off. Everything else was great. The service was pleasant and quick. The chicken katsu was crispy and flavorful. The best part though was the macaroni! It's the best I've had from any other Hawaiian BBQ place. I would definitely come back and just not order the kalua pork

2 Item Combo Plate with Volcano Chicken Katsu & BBQ Beef
    Alma S.

We came for a weekday lunch. The place was clean, Hawaiian music played softly in the background, & there were table & bar seating options inside, as well as tables outside. The lady who handled our order at the counter was friendly, smiley, & helpful. We ordered two 2-Item Combo Plates--one with BBQ Chicken & BBQ Beef, the other with Volcano Chicken Katsu & BBQ Beef. Everything was delicious! The meats were flavorful, juicy, & tender. The Katsu had good texture with a sweet, spicy sauce. We were offered additional sauces too. Rice was good, mac salad had just the right amount of mayo for my preference. The generous portions easily filled us up & then some. We had a pleasant experience & really satisfying lunch here!!!

While waiting for our food, the manager was walking around the tables, checking in if people needed anything, and saying hello. This level of service, and care, was really nice. On to the food - the crispy taco, ahi tuna tacos were delightful, with generous portions of ahi, avocado, and a wonderful amount of flavor, in a crispy shell. Just so that you know, I consider myself to be a club sandwich connoisseur and wanted to confirm of Ozzie's could enter my golden circle of club sandwiches. First - the service. Super friendly people who have no problem with accommodating special requests. For example I asked if they could add a slice of cheese and was asked "Swiss, Cheddar, American"? . That's music to my ears! Second- the ingredients. I love that they feature locally sourced bread products. Mine was prepared with Franco-American sourdough. And it's always fantastic! Third- Unlike a lot of club sandwiches, you don't have to decide between turkey or ham, they include both! And if you aren't a fan of either, they do offer a chicken club option. The final verdict! Five star awesome! The sandwich was perfectly stacked with tons of meat products. And extra credit for the extra large slice of cheddar cheese which covered the entire sandwich. And a huge shoutout to the crinkle fries (included with your order). I'm a huge crinkle fries fan and these were awesome!

The drink was pleasantly good, not too sour or too sweet, however definitely not worth the price. Then we decided on a small bites, skillet prawns. The wait wasn't too long. We took a bite each and we were so confused at the odd flavor. It tasted like latex gloves and cleaner. Hubs tried a a second small bite of another one and spit it out.
