Am I a *little* crazy for driving 1.5 hours from SF just to try out a new seafood boil spot? Possibly...and left not disappointed. I enjoy more of an "asian" taste when it comes to seafood boil flavors, so the fact that this place has hotpot only made my expectations higher. Prices are fair, and there were empty spots with no line by the time I left (6PM). I ordered 1lb of head on shrimp, clam, and mussel with the combo of potatoes, corn and sausage, with a side of garlic noodles. The highlight is the Simmer Sauce, which is a sweet, spicy, and a little savory/garlicky. The medium packed a kick, so I would definitely get mild for the low spice tolerance people. Shrimp was huge and tasted pretty fresh. Clams varied in size with some clam meat being smaller than others. Mussels were solid, but I noticed we had a couple of closed shells. The garlic noodles paired perfectly with everything, acting both as carbs and great for dipping in the sauce. Although this place beats most if not all seafood boils in the bay area, I had to wait about 30min for my garlic noodles. My server claimed they were making a new batch, but it was a little disappointing having mostly finished everything before they were served. The place is in a strip mall, lots of parking. Inside there is booth/table seating. They also do hot pot, so they can accommodate parties that want to do both (seafood boil/hotpot). We came for an early dinner on a Saturday - will say that as we were leaving they were getting REALLY busy, so the wait might be long. We were seated right away and our server was super friendly. I really love coming here for lunch or dinner. It's one of my go to places in Rohnert Park. My favorite item to get is the Garlic Noodles with Lemongrass Chicken. Recently, I tried that and I also got the Shrimp Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoons. As usual the food was good and the servers checked in on us regularly. The Shrimp Spring Rolls were my highlight; they were light, fresh, and the peanut sauce was delicious. Unfortunately, instead of my usual 5 stars, I'll have to do 3 stars instead because the latest time I came here for dinner, I found a hair in my Garlic Noodles with Lemongrass Chicken. It was super unfortunate. I understand that these things happen but when we informed the staff they simple took the food away and didn't address it at all. Restaurant Week 2026 First off, thank you to Simmer Claw for offering the "Deal for 4." That made my decision easy! I've been before but only for the seafood boil. It's good, but it doesn't pull me in the way it does my hubby. That said... I have officially fallen in love with the HOT POT experience. Now I just need to find out if you can do both at the same table!?! We arrived Tuesday around 8pm and the place was pretty full. They had an excellent DJ spinning all night, keeping the funky, fun vibes going. Our server treated us like longtime regulars or friends, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. My son-in-law and I kicked things off with sake bombs. Woot woot! I can't speak to the tasting notes, but it definitely did its job. :) The Restaurant Week menu is set and honestly felt like more than enough for the four of us so no need to order extras. Garlic noodles: We could've eaten an entire plate more. Sauce bar: Creativity is key, and I'm convinced there's no wrong combination. It was later in the evening, so a few containers were running low or empty, but everything I wanted was still available. Broths: I'm not a miso fan, but the others at the table loved it. Hands down, my favorite was the bone marrow broth. The flavor on its own was fantastic and only got better with my personal additions. I recently found out Simmer Claw Bar has hot pot! As you know, Sonoma County lacks hot pot spots. This is the first hot pot spot I have tried in the county and it did not disappoint! There are 2 Combos to choose from and we went with Combo #1, which helps direct you to choosing the broth (pick 2), the Meats & Seafood (pick 4), Vegetables & Mushroom (pick 2). You can order Combo #2 if you would like more food or have a larger party. For a party of 2, Combo #1 was the perfect size. Or, you can order a la carte as well. We went with the Curry & Miso soup base served half/half in a large square pot. We went with Skirt Steak and the brisket, instant noodle, udon, Enoki, Tofu and Napa Cabbage. They have a sauce bar where you can create your own dipping sauces (soy sauce, garlic, chili paste, sesame oil, lemon juice, cilantro, etc). Let me tell you, the quality of the food is excellent, fresh, beef was sliced and trimmed well, even the enoki mushroom ends were chopped clean. The broths are also delicious and hearty with free broth refills! The price is a bit higher than you would get at various hot pot places in the city but for the quality of the food, the attention to details on food presentation, clean sauce bar, it's worth it. After Christmas perfect place to take the family for dinner. If you like sea food this is the place to go. Came here with the family to celebrate the MAN's birthday. I've been living only maybe a 10 minute walk from this establishment for the past two years and I finally made it after all that time. Great place to watch sports and have drinks and good seafood. Since today's Monday, they offer $1 wings for a half dozen, great deal if you ask me. My favorite flavor was Cajun. The wings were fat with plenty of meat, better than our local wing spot here in Rohnert Park *Cough Cough*. For the main entree, we ordered the shrimp (Head off) seafood boil with a few add ons like, potatoes, sausage and corn for $8. We also ordered a side of garlic noodles. For drinks, I ordered a Mexican bomb which is about 1/4 of beer in a pint glass and it comes with a shot of tequila and tajin on the rim. I personally wish there was more beer but it was decent nonetheless. The wife ordered 'The Bayou Berry' and gave it a 2.5/5 stars. The total was approximately $84 for everything. This place is very cool. They do all kinds of great seafood and'll do it in sort of Cajun style. They have more than one kind. Of course, we always go with the Cajun style. My husband is from New Orleans, and we all love it, so we order a couple of big bags of seafood, bring them to the house, put the newspaper down on the table, and have an absolute feast. Everything was gone, and the seafood was seasoned beautifully. There is absolutely no way we're not coming back. Service is definitely efficient, quick, no fuss, no muss. Simmer Claw Bar is always delicious. At first, I didn't know what to expect from a restaurant that served both hot pot and a seafood boil- it's kind of a weird combination. After trying both multiple times, I can say without a doubt that Simmer Claw Bar has nailed every meal I've eaten there. The atmosphere is really casual and laid back. Simmer also has a pretty good selection of drinks, including soju, beers, and cocktails. Do not ignore the onions. They get really tender and pickup the sweetness from the ribs. **Pro tip, if you want garlic noodles $10 when you add it to your seafood boil. Just get the udon noodles $6 with the garlic butter sauce. The udon is added into the bag and will pick up the garlic butter flavors and save $4 at the same time. Value: Expensive Restroom: Men's room has 1 urinal and 2 stalls and a single sink. The handicap stall is roomy and should be able to accommodate a wheelchair. That's cool that they have hot pot here! in Rohnert Park! We didn't try it this time since we came for happy hour. We love their clam happy hour and got the seafood boil (medium spicy), but it wasn't quite spicy enough so next time we'll go for spicy-spicy haha. We also tried the coconut shrimp with Cajun fries, and it was delicious. Next time, I want to try their sweet potato fries and definitely check out the hot pot. Upon arrive the ambiance was amazing good music mellow vibes and cute decor! The drink menu is extensive and the Thai tea was so delicious. It was all going well up until we placed our order and we were sent the wrong bags. Originally my bf and I thought they split out 1lbs into two bags until the waiter came over and told us the order was wrong and they would have to take the plate away or charge us. The food came out at a decent pace but our drinks and sides didn't. We had to flag down our host to remind him. We got the ez peel shrimp boil at medium spice level but honestly we could have gone up a level and still be fine. The sauce was more sweet than spicy. We will get spicy next time. Went to Karaoke night for the first time. Initially, we thought it might be a distraction to have dinner during karaoke, but it turned out to be an absolute blast. Our group had such a great time listening to the karaoke, singers, and then participating once we finished our meal. We also tried the hot pot for the first time. All of the selections were fresh. The meat looked and tasted good. The vegetables were all crisp and delicious. Our broths were full of umami. I also give five Gold stars to the staff. They were so attentive, checked on us like every five minutes. Responded to all of our requests right away. Something I noticed that you don't see a lot of anymore, all of the staff, from the bartenders, to the servers, to the bussers, they all had huge smiles and were friendly, and they seemed to be enjoying the karaoke as much as we were. Definitely, we could not pass on the garlic noodles, one of our favorites and we went to the condiment bar and got extra garlic and chili oil and put it over our garlic noodles and made them even tastier.
