We stayed here for Christmas holidays. It was decorated so beautifully. Breakfast was great and service good. Great place to relax in a piece of history if you have the time to enjoy. If you are used to hustle and bustle and just want everything at your finger tips early in morning - probably not great for that. So, take the time to enjoy this place and the elegant service. In the six years of living in Eugene, we have eaten at most of the fine dining Restaurants but truely had Fine Dining tonight here at Campbell's. The Campbell House is a beautiful B&B in the historic area around Skinner's Butte. My parents have absolutely loved staying here when they've come to visit me, and it's the only hotel in town that my mother truly likes. Their rooms are a good size for a B&B, tastefully decorated in themes, and very private and quiet. I've had breakfast here once with my mother, and it was one of the best breakfasts I've had in town, albeit a little bit small in size. My main interaction with the lovely staff of the Campbell House has been for our wedding reception. They organized a beautiful afternoon tea event, for which they opened all of their comfortable, stylish dining/living rooms (I think they can accommodate 80 guests or so?). We had an open bar with King Estate wines, which everyone loved. The kitchen also did a great job of displaying and serving our wedding cake, and then wrapping up the top part for us to freeze for our anniversary. They also recommended a quartet, who played beautiful classical music during the entire reception. Throughout the process, we were very happy with everyone we dealt with, and the reception was flawless. Everyone loved the venue, and it really gave the event an intimate feel even with the large number of people we brought in (little over the limit in the end I think)! People enjoyed hanging out in the lovely garden as well, and we closed the event with an optional tour of the Shelton-McMurphy-Johnson House museum next door, which was a big hit! In addition, I would like to recommend the Campbell House's seasonal events, such as the Christmas tea with the Hansen family singers, or the Mother's Day tea. We've gone to two or three so far, and that's where we got the idea of doing our reception at the Campbell. The atmosphere is great, the view from the windows are lovely, and the service is warm and welcoming. I would absolutely use The Campbell House for another event. read more

Such an exciting find for an over night stay on the way to California!! I called at around 9pm for a last minute booking as my husband and I needed a place to rest our heads. Rather than stopping at a motel or cookie cutter hotel, we thought it would be fun to Yelp a b'n'b and we happened to stumble across Campbell House Inn. After a few rings a lovely lady named Amber graciously answered the phone and was so darling about looking after us making sure we had the best room in the house and that our experience was comfortable and welcoming. As we arrive Amber poured us both a lovely complimentary glass of wine and showed us to our room, The Campbell Family room. It was gorgeous. Full of character! Ornate and slightly kitch but exactly what we were looking for!! Now I am sure my husband would step in here and recommend NOT to google the haunted stories behind this hidden gem as I made sure we slept with the lights on haha however I can assure you no ghosts or ghouls joined us that evening!! This morning we woke up to the delightful aroma of breakfast which again was complimentary, and slowly but thoroughly enjoyed our lazy morning coffee and fireplace newspaper read before we hit the road again! This is a beautiful place with a rich history and lots of old charm. Our room was cute and the queen bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like was the musty smell in the room but that could be due to age of house and where the room was located. Other than that it was nice. The breakfast is delicious and the service was wonderful. Everyone is super nice and goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. I highly recommend this place to anyone. I'm not really a bed-and-breakfast kind of person, but my fiance and I stayed here after my parents recommended it. We actually ended up having an amazing time! The rooms are beautiful--very Victorian and dramatic (ours had a bed you needed a step-stool to get into with an enormous, ornate headboard that was about 6 feet tall). The room also had a gas fireplace, a few comfortable armchairs, a window overlooking the yard and a private bathroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was nice to stay somewhere that was so different from your typical hotel room. The price also wasn't too much (if any) higher than other hotels in the area. The best part, though, had to be the breakfast. The scones were homemade and delicious, and I'm still craving a few more slices of the fritatta they served! Definitely worth a visit, and just a few blocks from downtown Eugene. read more

I only stayed one night in Eugene, and the Campbell House was such a great choice. Good size room, large bathroom, comfortable bed, cozy fireplace, and water and soda in the fridge. The only inconvenience was that they were not serving dinner. I didn't try their breakfast, as I left very early in the morning. Great stuff! Heather welcomed us right in, gave us a short tour of the property and was more than helpful. Our room was cute and quaint with a fireplace, very comfortable bed with good pillows and a soaking bathtub with jets. We were able to relax after a 6 hour drive with room services. Food was amazing! We had the buffalo mozzarella, Brie with prosciutto, and wine. It was the perfect way to unwind from the drive. Complementary breakfast was delicious. Coffee, juice,fresh warm scones, blueberry pancakes with a lemon curd, and a vegetable hash. Decor is dated, but our stay was fabulous. I highly recommended the Campbell Inn. read more

We had a wonderful stay in Eugene at the Campbell House B&B! As we took the train down to Eugene from Seattle it came to our attention that the B&B we had booked had a cat. This simply wasn't going to work for my boyfriend and his allergies, so we did a search and came upon the Campbell House. It was a short walk from the train station and they didn't seem the least bit phased by our late (9:30p) arrival. The house has a beautiful yard and great rooms. Our room had a fire place and a jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was delicious both days we were there. We were served frittatas, granola cereal, fresh fruit, mouth watering scones, with coffee and teas. I think this may be the best bed and breakfast we've stayed at so far. It was calming, comfortable, clean, and romantic. I really hope we have the opportunity to go back again. read more

Made a reservation to come up for my sons college family weekend. I had to cancel reservation because of unforeseen circumstances. The inn said I never canceled and ending up charging me my full weekend rate and wouldn't reverse the charges. Do not stay here !!! Rude, not customer friendly one bit. Still in dispute with them. I am giving the Campbell house a 5 star rating because of the service and beauty of this Bed and Breakfast. I did not get to stay at this lovely place but I did how ever get the chance to dine here. The mini garlic scones are really good, they serve them before dinner. I had the filet mignon and my date had the roasted ribs with mashed potatoes. The sauce that was on both of the dishes were phenomenal! We also both had salads before our meal and let me tell you, one of the best I have ever had! Mine had the lavender dressing with strawberries. The food is definitely fine dining and I would recommend taking your date here for a special occasion or even if you just want to have quality food. They do offer a great wine list and seating outside for those of you wanting to enjoy a nice glass of wine on the lawn furniture. I can't wait for a chance to go back and not just dine but actually stay and hang out. You should try it at least once. read more

Rooms and bathroom were clean, the beds and pillows comfortable, the complimentary breakfast was a full sit down which included great coffee, juice, warm scones, fresh fruit and a choice between two breakfast choices. The manager (owner?) was so kind to allow me to park a large U-Haul truck in front. The grounds are beautifully maintained - beautiful green grass, bushes and trees with wide wooden lawn chairs available should you just want to hang out and relax. The building was built in the 1800's and has so much personality. Despite the limitations of COVID-19, they still served a hot breakfast that you picked up from the front desk and ate in your room or on one of the patios. We appreciated their being pet friendly but it would help to have some trash cans around the perimeter where you could throw out pet waste. And if the room has a small kitchen / sink area, maybe provide some paper towels. read more

We came here to stay while watching the Lion King at the Hult Theater. The Campbell House is beautiful! The beds are very comfy. The cast iron claw tub is wonderful. The room was perfect and the amenities free and plentiful. We enjoyed our breakfast (The almond scones we had were delightful!) Came here as a retreat for myself and to see my long distance boyfriend after five long months. We require an ADA room which is usually the room received without issue. As we've stayed in that room every time we've stayed except the first time. I Finally get a break from life out of state and book a reservation to go and relax after the longest and hardest last few months of my life. Dealing with selling my mothers home here in Eugene after my step father committed suicide in June to buying a home in California for us. And then my mother having a stroke a few weeks ago and me being unable to come in for the first reservation. I failed to cancel in time with their cancellation policy. They were kind enough to honor a credit for another future stay. Not knowing the situation or asking as to why I hadn't. So I finally check in today on the credit and expect the ADA room as discussed. However it's the room across the hall. 314 instead of 316. So from me not catching it on my email confirmation not knowing the rooms number or name. I get here and extend another night as plans changed and was fine with having to move rooms. However my room I checked into isn't ADA and impossible for my boyfriend to get into the bathtub to use the shower as he has trouble with his legs due to his MS. And apparently the gal that made the reservation states that she didn't realize I NEEDED the ADA room but remembers talking about it. I'm moved into the room requested but was told I had to move rooms each night of my stay. This being absolutely ridiculous to me. With my being here to relax and have a calm and mellow time. I ask for a refund of the stay. I was told I would get back $46.00. Which ended up being 30 something that I didn't get... So there's a loss of $340 some dollars. And a returning guest. I've never in my life seen a General Manager handle a situation so rudely. He called me a liar and said he was in the room while the reservation was booked and that it was not his fault I can't look at and read a confirmation. Then as I'm in tears and just beside myself he comes to my room but isn't professional enough to knock. He just slides an envelope under my door. So UNPROFESSIONAL! Own up and be a manager not a coward. By his appearance it looks like he's been sleeping in his office all day. Oversized and untucked shirt hanging half way down his legs and oversized, baggy and wrinkled slacks. He looks like he acts. Totally unprofessional and sloppy! I will never recommend this property as I've been doing since I found it. Nor will I ever return. I just liked the spa tubs and the location. Nothing fancy or elegant about the place. Very masculine rooms that are super outdated and showing major ware. Go to the Inn at the 5th and stay clear of this raggedy establishment. read more

We came here for our 7th anniversary get away and a Ducks game. This place is fabulous! It's walking distance to shops, restaurants and beautiful trails. The rooms was clean and comfy and quiet until the 1:40a and the 3:50a train( no fault of the Inn) made our stay have a better adventure. Breakfast is delicious and the view to the yard from the dining hall is beautiful. Complimentary evening wine was really good and sitting in the court yard on a warm fall evening make it even better after a long day of walking and site seeing.. We highly recommend this place. I called to make my reservation because I had some questions. I explained that I was traveling with a baby and reserved a king room. When I arrived, they started to lead me down a steep set of stairs, as I am carrying a baby in a car seat. I asked for a different room. I was told this room had it's own entry/exit, so I would only have to go down the stairs once. Fair enough. As I entered the room, there was a step down, and another step up to enter the kitchenette area, another step down to enter the bedroom area. It wasn't until later that night that I discovered the bed wasn't even a queen- it was a full! I have a dock-a-tot, so my baby sleeps on top of the bed in it. I needed at least a queen! Not only was there not enough room, the bed was OLD, and every time I moved at all it was noisy. Neither of us slept at all and that alone ruined my stay. Then I didn't make one of the several steps throughout the room and injured my knee. A month later, my knee is still not back to normal. This room is NOT adequate for anyone except a younger person traveling alone who doesn't mind steps throughout. Even that person would not like a creaky old noisy bed. The people are really nice, and the complementary breakfast is top notch, but be careful that you actually get what you reserve! read more

Driving down from Fort Flagler, WA. in mid July, my girlfriend and I took an impromptu coastal drive that we loosely calculated would end with a night in Eugene, but since it wasn't really planned, we had no reservations. A little research on the phone and an advertised summer discount on the website led me to book one of the smaller rooms with a fireplace. An inspired round of post-driving sunset miniature golf kept us from arriving until after dark, but when we finally found it, it was the cherry on top of a pretty rich Sunday. It reminded me of the best inns I'd stayed in in upstate NY. We were given our choice of room, which amounted to a free upgrade to a room with a big bathroom, jacuzzi, fireplace, comfortable bed. A free glass of wine followed a quick survey of the bars and restaurants within walking distance. Couldn't have asked for a better end to a day. A morning run around the Oregon campus was followed by hot 'Cherry Garcia' scones, granola, good coffee, and OJ. We made sure to lounge in the chairs out front before leaving, and made sure to check out the vista just above the house for a view of the valley. I cannot wait to spend a few more nights at Campbell House. B+B win! read more

There is great attention to detail throughout the room, lots of amenities and little touches here and there. I so wish the restaurant was open, as all the food sounded amazing. At first glance from hotel.com's photos we were skeptical. But boy are we glad that things worked out the way they did for us to ultimately pick this Inn because it is unbelievably adorable. The staff are friendly and responsive, the decor and ambience feels comforting and cozy. The room is clean and extremely affordable at ~100/ night (compared with other hotels close to downtown) Would 10/10 stay here the next time I'm in Eugene! We stayed here one night while traveling through Eugene. What a find! Our room was actually three rooms and slept 5. We had our own entrance, a complimentary glass of wine and a great breakfast, all for $100. The room was spotless, the bed comfy and the amenities more that exceeded my expectation for a b and b. Personally, the nearby train noise did not bother me or even wake my husband. It passed through just twice (we were there on a Sunday) and while, loud, the interruption was short. Besides, the sound of a train seems nostalgic somehow. In any event, I would give this place a 5 star rating but am posting my review with 4 as others might be more sensitive. I wish I'd known about this place sooner. I've spent my last money at mediocre hotel chains in the area. This is our new "go to" while in Eugene. read more

The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. They have redecorated since posting to the website. The rooms look far more elegant and far less country bumpkin. Grounds smelled of broccoli upon arrival but cleared up after a few hours. Breakfast had great flavors and was able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. My brother is a Eugene local and recommended this place because every time he drives by, he wishes he could stay there. The house and grounds are really beautiful, the breakfast was amazing. (I think that was my first moist scone, ever.) Our room (Jackson Room) was super tiny, a little dark and not as quiet as we would have liked. It was perfect for a one-night hotel alternative (especially at the corporate rate) but if you're planning your honeymoon or romantic getaway, I'd ask for a larger room in the main house, which is totally charming and adorable! read more

I Stay at the Campbell House Inn for two nights, it was a wonderful experience. Beautiful spacious rooms, lovely surroundings, atmosphere, and service! Unfortunately I was unable to take advantage of the dinner that was offered there as well but their breakfast was delicious. Recently spent two nights here in the Stephen Room in Carriage House, which happens to be one of the most expensive rooms (paid $330 each night) on the entire property. While the room was beautifully furnished with many nice touches, there was an elephant in the room in the form of the block away train that sounded its horn every two hours....EVERY.two.hours....24/7. Also unfortunate was the fact that the conductors seemed to take great joy in blasting out some sort of random pattern that blared out over the equivalent of a mile or two of train track. Even with ear plugs and bathroom fan turned on the horn served as a form of torture waking us out of a sound sleep all night long both nights. And, contrary to manager's replies on other posts complaining about the train noise, the horn can not be "heard all over Eugene" nor is it in any way, shape or form "charming". read more

I can't believe this is the first time we've been here after nearly five years in Eugene, and still more, can't believe this place is not talked about more among local foodies. Perhaps it's the fact that the restaurant is in an inn, tucked away in a residential neighborhood. I don't believe it's an unfair generalization to say that food at inns, and even more so at bed and breakfasts, can be a bit dated and unadventurous. Fortunately, this is definitely not the case the the Campbell House Restaurant, whose food I would easily rank among the top 5 or 10 in Eugene. My husband (a chef) and I decided to share a few plates. We started with the carne picada empanada and the Merguez lamb spanakopita and hummus; I have to say, the fact that they were serving both South American/Mexican and Middle Eastern gave me pause, as some restaurants cannot successfully pull off multiple cuisines. Fortunately, both were outstanding, and I can foresee coming back here for a drink on the lawn and these two dishes on a summer afternoon. Next, we shared the buffalo mozzarella duo--fresh mozzarella on top of both heirloom tomato and watermelon. Again, delicious. Finally, we shared the braised beef short rib, which the kitchen was kind enough to split for us. It was great, though, in our opinion at least, the weakest part of the meal (we tend to prefer appetizers/mezze/tapas/hor d'oeuvres, so that might be the reason). In addition, the service was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the wine list was well-curated and surprisingly inexpensive. The decor does have a bit of the stuffy feel of a Victorian B&B (silk flowers, heavy floral upholstery on some of the furniture), but the building itself is quite lovely, and the view from the dining room is fantastic. Stayed here on a Sunday night with with wife and two kids (7 and 8) in a room downstairs. Never heard of the place before I yelped it as we were driving through the neighborhood looking at restaurants. Very cool house built in the late 1800's with very attentive staff. We paid just over a $100 and it was worth every penny. Our room had a private driveway and entrance off the back of the house which worked well for us - we could even walk to dinner - less than 5 minutes to the nearest set of restaurants. The "room" was actually a suite with three rooms - One with a king size bed, one with a daybed, one with a sleeper sofa. All were very clean. Breakfast consisted of two choices; 1) Cinnamon Pancakes, or 2) Spinach Fritata - both served with sausage and scone, though the cook made up some scrambled eggs for one of my kids. read more

On a whim, my husband and I decided to drive back early from Portland and find a little place to stay at the halfway point. At 8pm we rolled up to the Campbell House Inn in Eugene, OR and the young woman who greeted us and let us know that she had upgraded our room to a suite at no charge. The suites are lovely!!! Fire place, jacuzzi tub, flat screen TV, and king bed with soft sheets! They offer you a glass of wine at night and complimentary warm breakfast in the morning. The staff is friendly and helpful! Really great bnb at a good price. The rooms were charming. I was trying not to break the bank so I stayed two of their smaller rooms, and they really were small. But they were clean, comfortable, a good location, good wifi, and a good price. The breakfast was delicious and there were a lot of little extras that made the Inn a special place to stay. I would definitely stay there again. First I stayed in Jackson, which has a whirlpool tub and is in the carriage house. Just enough room to do cramped yoga at the foot of the bed. The tub was luxurious and the robes were very comfy. No coffee/tea in room but a great selection, plus cookies by the front desk which is reasonably close. I wouldn't recommend Jackson if you have any mobility problems since you have to walk down some stairs to get to it. Then I stayed in Kelsey, which is in the main building. Not quite enough room to comfortably do yoga anywhere in the room, and no dresser, but there was a fold-down-from-the-wall-desk. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and very generous portions. They start you with juice, scone, and fresh fruit, and then you can have a savory or sweet option. It's more like 2 meals and you can plan on skipping lunch if you get the savory option (breakfast quesadilla and breakfast sandwich when I was there). The sweet option, which was parfait both mornings I was there, was a more reasonable size to follow a scone, and it came with bacon and sausage. The scones were very good, especially the first morning I was there, I don't remember which flavor scone it was, though. The person serving even gave me a scone and some extra fruit in a to-go box when I mentioned I was going to skip lunch since breakfast was so big. The dinning room is very pretty but had the unusual-in-Eugene problem of being too sunny in some seats. (Obviously this would depend on the weather). One warning I would make is that the train was loud enough to wake me up in the night, but this will be an issue anywhere in this area. The night I remembered to leave the fan on in the bathroom for white noise the train no longer woke me up. As I mentioned, the wifi was good and I never had any issue with it. The phone in the room seemed to have a bad connection the one time I used it, so maybe I wouldn't rely on that. The grounds were very pretty, but I was there in winter so I didn't get much use out of them. I did hike from the front of the Inn up Skinner's Butte, which was a nice walk. Took me about an hour round trip at a very leisurely pace that included peaking my head in the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House which is just one driveway down the butte from the Inn. Very convenient location next to 5th street market and the downtown area in general, easy walking distance, if you're OK with the half-block incline to get back to the Inn. read more
