    My Ex's Sweater

Camp West is a glamper's dream - every decoration in the place is on point; they have tables for four walled off with canvas tents, camp chairs and sasquatch abound; and even the servers wear camp-themed gear. I appreciate the dedication to Northwest camping without having to deal with mosquitos and rain. Service is friendly and kind, and it's obvious the bar tender especially is highly skilled. I had the "My Ex's Sweater" and my partner had the s'mores based cocktail - both were adult complex cocktails, despite the potentially gimmicky names. Where this place has consistently fallen flat for me is the food. First off, the pricing on the online menu is less than the pricing in the restaurant. This past time I went I got the NY steak, which was supposed to be medium rare but was well done. Same with my friend's pork chops - very dry. To be fair to the restaurant, I didn't say anything to give them a chance to make it right, and on the bright side of things, my spouse reported her tater tots were delicious. We have done the s'mores before and it's a fun date night thing but you're paying for the set up and experience, not the chocolate and graham crackers. Next time I come back to this place it will likely be for a cocktail and an appetizer and not the full meal deal, but it's great to have a spot like that on California!

CAMP BAR SPINOFF. In discussions with the friendly bartender I discovered that the similarities between this bar and Camp Bar in Tacoma is no coincidence! They used to be the same owner, however The Camp Bar sold this bar off, and the new owners have kept the Camp Bar theme. So expect to see moose on the wall and picnic tables. I didn't have any food, just a beer, But I really enjoyed chatting it up with the bartender. They do have a full pub menu, there is a full bar and also several craft beers on tap. It's an interesting and fun atmosphere. Having not tried the food, I can only offer four stars, but if you're looking to have drinks in The Junction, then I would urge you to stop by and soak up the forest camp atmosphere over a few drinks! Cheers!

I'm sorry. The bartender and server were great, let me say that first and foremost. The service is not the issue at all. The theme of the restaurant is also super fun and they knock the kitch out of the park. The thermoses of water and camping chairs are excellent touches. Sadly the food was rough. The apps were boring, and the mains were a big let down. The chicken sandwich I got was pretty much burnt, very dry, very stringy, and overly crunchy. The Sysco fries were the best part of the plate. My partner got the cassoulet (which was decent) but his salad was covered in an ingredient he's very allergic to and was told a new salad was on the way. This fabled salad never arrived. Our friends said their steak entree and carbonara were underwhelming, especially after what the price was. I would pop in again just for the cocktails because they were the best part of the evening.

What an adorable idea for a restaurant! I sat in a camp chair and there were other touches here with the camping theme. I tried the Smashburger, got a half order between my friend and I it was so hard to decide whether to do the fries or the tater tots so we ordered a side order of tater tots there was also a side order of Parmesan cheese truffle fries on the table. The beef tips were tasty too. It was a small burger and beef serving. I'm so glad I had yelp to use as a reference because just seeing the pictures of the fries, I knew they would be really crispy and delicious. The tater tots came with a type of mayonnaise dipping sauce. The sauce was appreciated, but it was plain. I would've loved to see something smoky like the Red Robin camp sauce done here. Our waiter was helpful and kind. One funny thing that happened was that my friend received her burger with fries instead of the salad that she ordered. When she pointed it out, the plate was taken back to the kitchen. She likes hot food, so she didn't like this. What should've happened is that the plate should've been left there and a side salad could've been brought out. Instead of the whole plate being taken back to the kitchen. While we were waiting, the rest of us had our food, she was a little bit worried that her burger would be not as warm if it were the same burger, or handled extra in some way when she couldn't see it. It took about six minutes for a burger to come back out with colorful, spinach salad. So that moment of concern and doubt could have been avoided. I'm sure they couldn't have served those fries to anyone else anyway. There was a s'more on the desert menu that I have to take my kids there to try!

We came for Seattle restaurant week, but after this experience we'll definitely be coming back to enjoy the rest of their menu. Cocktails were made swiftly and balanced well. The chef definitely nailed the quality and anesthetic of the restaurant. Great quality food at a good price point. The cauliflower was delicious, crispy and seasoned well. Neither one of us typically enjoy cauliflower, but this was an amazing exception for us. The chicken sandwich was crispy yet tender inner, excellent balance of flavor and textures. Smashburger was not at all over powered by the onions, the cheese and patties melt with a light bun to make this a perfect rainy day treat. Speaking of treats, hard to go wrong with either the lemon cake or the diy Smore's.. and yes you should opt for the reese's alternative. What a fun pairing with the camping/outdoor ambiance. Definitely made me a happy camper.

Camp West in West Seattle. This place is outstanding. I've been here for lunch two weeks in a row. Eric was my bartender today. He rocked it out. He was knowledgeable about the menu. He made suggestions and was spot on with each recommendation. I had what is probably the best Spinach salad I've ever had. I followed that up with Garlic Parmesan and Buffalo wings. That 24 hour brine just locks in so much flavor and juices. Soooooo good. Then I had their Smash Burger and fries. Delicious and addictive. I washed all of that down with Yonder Dry Cider. You've got to make this place your next lunch or dinner spot. Thanks, Eric. You made this old restaurant veteran very happy today.

The food was amazing; had the peri peri cauliflower which was so yummy (sorry no picture) but I really liked the crusty topping and the lemon aioli was so creamy and lemony tasting. I ordered the Spring seared gnocchi and OMG it was really deliciously yummy. The gnocchi was perfectly seared with a hint of Smokey flavor. I added the lemon chicken to the dish. My son ordered the quinoa and chickpea salad and he added lemon chicken. The portions of these dishes are plentiful and we still ordered the s'mores. Got both chocolate and Reese's peanut butter. I was real full. I highly recommend this restaurant but make sure you call for reservations so you don't have to wait.

If you're like me you may eye roll real (real) hard on first glance; as this PNW hipster themed restaurant seems grossly (grossly) PNW. You would THINK you would be served by a cliche too cool for school bearded hipster with wearing a flannel, giving you a menu lined IPA's, Tater Tots, and Pub Burgers. But what you are presented with is inspired cocktails and beautiful presented cuisine that seems very out of place (see above judgmental comment.). Like the speakeasy up the street this is a stealth establishment that teaches you quickly to not judge a book buy it's cover. - My bad business owner - my bad... Congratulations Seattle - West Seattle is relevant once again.

This was a super fun experience! My friends and I went to celebrate my thirtieth and enjoyed one of the best cocktails I've ever had (it was kind of like a smoky old fashioned), had some yummy entrees, and enjoyed the experienced of roasting marshmallows at our table for s'mores (we have a friend who is vegan and she brought her own marshmallows)! The service was quick and friendly and we loved all of the fun decor; make sure to look overhead to see the fake person sleeping in the hammock! Such a fun spot.

The pasta was amazingly tender, cooked to perfection. There was a lot of flavor and depth in each bite, more of a deliciously earthy mac and cheese as opposed to maybe a velveety smooth creamy type. The Jalapeño poppers were amazing. I've always associated poppers with a crusted fried topping but these were bold, going in a different direction. The jalapeños were fresh and soft to the bite, easy to cut with the side of a fork, loaded with components such as cashew cheddar, crema, avocado sauce, sweet pickled jalapeños, pico and cabbage slaw - all coming together perfectly in each bite (i'm utilizing their menu description) For the main dish, Sandi ordered the "Smokey Barbecue" which came with a complimentary side of chips and I ordered the Portobello French Dip and upgraded my side to a Side Salad for an extra $4. Each dish, every bite was delicious, even something as simple as a side salad was elevated with their Ginger Tahini dresing. Dipping the Portobello Sandwich into the Dip was just .. magical. We also both opted for the same drink, South Park Mule. The drink was legit, in addition to tasting great, I actually had a buzz as well .. indicating to me they didn't skimp on the adult juice Their food is amazing across the board and there's so much more to go back and try! Definitely worth the trip!!

My friend very much enjoyed the tofu bahn you. Although we all really enjoyed the nachos, they were not what I expected. I expected cashew cheese sauce that was cheesy tasting. It was very different from that but tasted great. The lentils and tomatos were very well seasoned. They are not spicy but are yummy. The kale salad was good but I have had a better vegan one in SF. The service was friendly but slow. On the plus side, there was zero pressure to rush. I look forward to going here again when I am next in town. I want to try the mac and cheese and one of their pretty cocktails.

I got a kick out of both Star Wars and SpongeBob being played on the bar TVs while we decided on our order! Loved the chill vibe here. We ordered pickle chips to split-these were INCREDIBLE-they came with ranch, and they were crispy and chewy. They were addicting, and not greasy, oily or heavy in the batter they used to fry them. These managed to be both filling and light. Absolute win. I ordered an ABV free drink, True North. This was one of my favorite drinks I have ever had. I loved this combination of lime, ginger beer, hibiscus and the Pathfinder Hemp & Root. This was my first time trying this line of ABV free spirit, and I was blown away. True North was refreshing, not too sweet, bubbly and bright. We will definitely be coming back-there were lots of foods and cocktails we wanted to try.

The food: expensive for what it is. Long ago dear reader, this Goblin worked in food service. He can spot "ready-made foods" from a mile away. This place leans more "eating to satiate", than "eating to satisfy", no matter how hard I fight my Goblin brain. Each meal, I come to terms with the sucker I am for eating a $27 omelette before tip. Herein lies our problem dear reader. Do I want a hummus plate for $12-15, that is essentially a disassembled and then reassembled menagerie of pre-made product on a plate? Or how about a cup of some mid-gumbo for $8? As a Goblin I have eaten many old soups out of a dirty cauldron, but Mid-Gumbo tastes like how Jack Harlow must feel waking up and telling himself he got blacker. Concerning the food (and Jack Harlow), it's about more than just lack of seasoning.
